This place was great, clean, comfortable, and seemed very new and updated. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. Also, there was 24 hour tea and coffee which was nice. We enjoyed the pool (and they provided towels!), but the pool had some small bugs and leaves. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Nice to walk across street to park or downtown Ventura to the store and shops. Cross walk over to the beach just a block away. Only down fall was the pet area was much to small. They certainly could have done a better job or expanded it by using more parking space in front of it.

Nice, clean overnight stay while on a family road trip. Breakfast was included and there was something for everyone. The only bummer was the hotel was stingy with their ice. All the other hotels we stayed at on our 8 day road trip made plenty of ice machines available for guests - making it easy for us to keep our family’s food cold in the ice chest. Best Western was specific in only allowing to use their small bucket for ice and having to walk all the way to the lobby area to get it. Just an odd quirk that ended up standing out after comparing them to the other stays on our trip. Overall, we had a good sleep and moved on to our next destination.

Perfect location between the downtown, and the beach. The hotel had a great breakfast, comfortable beds, and spacious rooms, as well as a nice pool, and a park across the street.

The beds were good just a little high. Breakfast was decent better than most places. And good staff, helpful. Parking wasn't great especially parking at the end. Pool was fine just wished they had a jacuzzi. The shower needed repair and mentioned to staff so hopefully is fixed for next person. Could not get full water to showerhead most just came out of bathtub nozzle. Would have been nice to have freezer section in fridge to refreeze our ice packs and no microwave in room either. TV and AC confusing to work.

Took the family for a quick couple day trip and stayed here with my child and dog. Very pleasant staff and hotel. Very animal friendly with park right across the street with play area for kids as well. Walking distance to the beach! If I visit this city again I will be staying here!

Overall, pretty good! We took the train to town, and hotel was easily accessible by walking. Nice dining options at the pier (seafood was excellent!), a 5 minute walk. My only negative: no elevators…I am disabled, but my son was able to help with luggage. Next time, I will specify downstairs.

Although it is obviously an old motel, the rooms have been very nicely remodeled. Don't judge it by exterior appearances! Great location near downtown Ventura and very walkable, including the pier (over the pedestrian bridge). Parking is free and adequate. Safe neighborhood.

Great staff! Front desk staff are awesome! Very accommodating and very friendly. Nice park across the street walk your dog (watch for traffic, no crosswalk) but very pretty and shaded with a nice playground for the kiddos. Breakfast was the same for both nights we were there (eggs, sausage, beans, waffles and normal continental breakfast) 7am-10am. ONLY ISSUE, we had was there’s a fridge in the room but no microwave. We traveled with a baby so warming up bottles and food in the room was an issue. There’s one microwave in the lobby by the breakfast area that’s 24/7. But walking through the parking lot to the lobby at 3am in jammies sucks. But overall 6.5/10 (docked 2.5 points for microwave)

They remodeled the place which was nice. They put in hardwood flooring but they don’t mop it. If you walked with bare feet when you get in shower you see the black dirt coming off the bottom of them. Pretty nasty.

The rooms were newly redone, and were super clean. The hotel is close to the beach, however you can’t see it from the hotel but it’s easy to walk to. The ability to walk to shops and food was convenient. The staff was friendly and for a free breakfast they had decent food. It was worth the trip down to the lobby.

For the most part, everything was great. We had two rooms, with a total of three adults and three kids. The kids really enjoyed using the pool. There were just a couple of things that could have been better. There appeared to be something that turned the bottoms of everyones’ feet black (new flooring?). However, it easily came off in the shower, Also, the shower curtain could have been longer; it barely reached into the tub, so you had to be very careful. They had a good selection of things for breakfast, and they changed some offerings up a bit the second day, but I would have liked to have regular, cooked oatmeal rather than packages of instant oatmeal. The rooms were spacious and parking was easy.

Hotel was as advertised. We liked how close it was to downtown which allowed us to walk to many dining options. Staff was friendly but room could be cleaner- the floors were dirty and we noticed a stained towel. Other than that the free breakfast and parking were much appreciated.

Upgrades needed around the property. The shower needs to be redone. To switch between the water coming out of the tub spout and shower head was NOT an option. It came out of both ends but more for the tub. The shower curtain needs to be longer so the floor doesn’t flood. Window curtains lets a good amount of light in when your trying to sleep and the light hits your face. I like that there is not an iron and a steamer is given to use but it would be great if it worked. Instead it would shoot out water. Sinks need to be raised. Why is everything at knee level when it’s not even a handicap room. Beds and pillows are very uncomfortable. Microwaves could be added to the rooms. Fridge does not get cold but cooler than room temperature. The outlets to plug in your phones on the nightstands do not work. Pool needs to be cleaned if your having guest. I did kill a cockroach one night. Noise you get anywhere when you’re on the bottom floor. This place was great before the pandemic. It’s finally opened back up but I think it’s not the best place to stay with a family. Do some upgrades and offer housekeeping with a longer operating window.

Needed a place to stay during a trip out to Carpinteria, and we decided to spend the night in Ventura. This Best Western was a convenient location. You can walk to Main Street or the Pier within minutes. They offered free parking and breakfast, which we were really thankful for! Check-in as well as check-out was a breeze, and the staff was very friendly. They're a pet friendly hotel, and asked us if we had pets when we checked in. The only concern we had was our bed. It was a bit on the tall side, and we noticed it squeaked a lot. Overall, we would recommend staying here and would return to this Best Western.

Very helpful staff. Great location near pier and beach. Breakfast ok, but weak coffee and no gluten free bread. Website said rooms have microwave, but didn’t. Staff brought a microwave though! Bed was uncomfortable and noisy because of the metal around the base.

This location was probably one of the worst places to stay at. The staff was nice but the room was very uncomfortable. The bed was super tall and very, very soft that you sunk into it. There was a train that would go by. The walls were thin and you can hear the neighbors talking and doing stuff. I don't think I would stay at this location again.

Bobby ran the breakfast time like a pro. He addressed everyone polietly and accomidated anyone who needed help with a smile. Daisy the night cleark also researched where locations for recreation for my wife and I. Also Carlos the manager was very helpfull to relocate my wife myself and our 2 service dogs a new room to better accomidate us. Thank you to all the staff for an amazing stay in Ventura . We will be back and look foreward to another amazing stay at this Best Western location. Your caring and profesioal team rate far above the 5 stars avalisble . Great job everyone. The power went out and when i woke up and went to the front desk the lady was so rude. I was trying to ask if there was an eta for the power as i was getting ready for a wedding she was so rude. Breakfast sucked.

I had a wonderful stay. Stephanie and Clementine, help get my checkin swiftly. I had been denied a room I prepaid at Travers Inn. Lucky this place was close by. The kindness of the two ladies whom work at BW are amazing. I would definitely stay at BW because of their kindness.

Just really nice staff at check in. Breakfast excellent. Totally safe. Easy to walk into town for shows/dining & shops. Beach easy walk. Nice.

The hotel was good. The front desk person kept insisting we had only paid for 2 of our 3 rooms upfront even after presenting them with receipts. So that was a little frustrating. Other than that, the location is very convenient.

The staff was very accommodating and informative. We had a small issue with our reservation and they fixed it on the spot. Making my plans with my friends much easier on us. I would definitely stay there again due to the location adjacent to the beach and the pier.

The service was excellent. Employees are friendly. It was close to my hospital so location was great. Breakfast was really good the coffee not so much. Carlos, Shalani and Rosa in charge of breakfast are all outstanding employees and a great asset to Best Western. The rooms are clean I wish I would have gotten a King instead but the queen was extremely comfortable..

Hotel is so close to the Pier , (quite awesome). We had a great time at Main Street which is so close to the hotel . We walked to the Mission ( my favorite Mission so far , they have a nice garden and on Sundays, more coffee self serve after the mass and food . A very pleasant short walk with stops at Cafes ( Loved it ) restaurants, shopping ( Antiques , thrift shops and gift shops ). We truly enjoyed our overnight stay. Will be back again. Easy parking too and good breakfast.

Location was good but a lot of homeless around property. Nice clean room but Bed was lumpy and uneven and springs made a lot of noise.

Overall, pretty good! We took the train to town, and hotel was easily accessible by walking. Nice dining options at the pier (seafood was excellent!), a 5 minute walk. My only negative: no elevators…I am disabled, but my son was able to help with luggage. Next time, I will specify downstairs.

Although it is obviously an old motel, the rooms have been very nicely remodeled. Don't judge it by exterior appearances! Great location near downtown Ventura and very walkable, including the pier (over the pedestrian bridge). Parking is free and adequate. Safe neighborhood.

GREAT front desk staff—lovely, cheerful, and had fun music as you check in. The location was SUPREME! It’s walking distance from anything you can need (pier, eateries, park, bars, breweries, shopping). Would definitely stay here again. And frankly, the price was reasonable.

I was beyond happy when I booked this hotel for my parents over thanksgiving. The staff was top notch, breakfast was phenomenal, the beds were comfy and the room was very clean. Everything was perfect and would recommend highly. Thank you!!!!

The power went out and when i woke up and went to the front desk the lady was so rude. I was trying to ask if there was an eta for the power as i was getting ready for a wedding she was so rude. Breakfast sucked.

10/10 stay!! easily one of the best small hotels I've stayed in the southern ca area. the only thing I would recommend is waking up a little early for breakfast as it does get a little crowded after 8am. I would come back to this place 100%

A great stay at the Ventura Best Western. The staff was friendly and very accomodating. The rooms were spotless. A yummy breakfast of bacon, sausage, omelets, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, cereals, waffles, fruit and more. It was obvious the staff takes pride in keeping their guests happy. A great place to stay.

Dirty, sticky floors and sink counters and the sink and vanity area was abnormally short. It felt like we were in an accessible room and that is not what we had requested when booking. The breakfast was terrible. Muffins and waffles tasted awful and was barely edible. Place is in need of major renovation. Not worth the price we paid. We paid almost $400 for one night for one of the worst Best Western hotels I gave ever stayed in and it wasn’t even oceanfront. Never again!

We checked in on Sunday and had to leave early Monday morning to make it back in time for work. This location is perfect - we walked to the park, Room Service Coffee, and Transmission Brewing. Later we drove to get dinner a few minutes away, napped, and went to Ventura Music Hall! We loved our stay and can’t wait to come back with our pups. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Hopefully we can stay longer next time and make it to the beach.
