Rooms were very nice as was the lobby....elevators were a little sketchy.... doors didn't open properly every time, needs a little atrention

The pool are needs up keep, the bathroom is showing wear.

Back area needs more lights . Staff is so sweet . Bed comfortable. Rooms clean

Back door on second unsafe it wouldn't lock all the way please it needs maintenance thank you . Over all 5 stars.

The front and interior of the building is beautiful. The back parking lot was a bit overgrown and the rear entry didnt close automatically. Otherwise, a clean, comfortable place to sleep after a long day.

One of the elevators had a musty smell.

The hotel was fine except for the pool. There should be an indoor pool not just outdoor.

I recently stayed one night in a 2 queen room as I was in the area to visit Lake Compounce. The hotel is only a 10 or so minute drive from the park! I really enjoyed my stay overall and would definitely stay again if in the area. Check in was quick, staff was friendly and efficient, and my request for top floor facing the back was honored. Only negative I noticed was the parking lot is in rough shape, but everything else was fine, and the room was clean! I had room 315, it was quiet with no road noise, minimal noise from guests even though the hotel seemed busy for a Sunday evening, as there were lots of people hanging out in the lobby. The property and room was nicely renovated, furniture seemed new and was in good condition, as was the bathroom, as everything seemed clean! The have the bottles of soaps/shampoo mounted, so no soap bars, only minor con in the room. Fridge worked great, as did the AC, as room was ice cold! Beds were comfortable as well. Breakfast was great too, I liked how it is open until 10pm, went a little after 9, there was plenty of food left, cinnamon rolls were out, but restocked shortly after, eggs/mini omelets were tasty, although there was no bacon, just sausage. Pancake machine was also broken. There were enough options though! Coffee was out at end of breakfast but is available 24/7. When I arrived around 5, there was a huge pile of trash on 3rd floor coming off elevator, but was removed later in evening. Overall enjoyable stay!

Staff was very accommodating. We only experienced one hiccup, we were originally on the second floor that smelled like a wet dog as soon as you stepped off the elevator. Neither the less, we went to the room. The tub had multiple strands of hair in it and the toilet had tissue in it. We went back to the front desk where the staff was very apologetic and changed our room as well as floor level.

Property was not clean, crumbs and debris in the elevator. Room has an odor and needs vacuuming!

At first, the hotel seemed nice and clean when you first walk into the lobby. But as soon as you get to the hallways where the rooms are it reeks of cigarette smoke. The rugs in the hallways and elevators were filthy and the paint on the doors to the rooms was chipping. You could also hear a lot of yelling coming from the other rooms. Our room was very tiny with barely any room to set our bags down. Our bed was pulled away from the wall and when I went to push it back I noticed a lot of hair, dirt, and one very questionable item behind it. Our bedding also had staining on it, which made me question if they are even washing the bedding at all. Our bathroom was also very filthy towards the edges of the walls. Not sure if it was dust or mold, but it was probably both. The breakfast wasn’t bad until I went to get some juice and the juice machine looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. It had juice built up on the bottom and the grate looked very slimy. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again and would choose another hotel in the area.

The showers were disgusting and had a yellow lining and the room was not even properly cleaned. I checked in at 9pm and found a bag of candy and empty water bottles in the closet. At least the bed was made and looked clean… Too tired to even deal with it but this will be the last time I stay here and I will not recommend this hotel to anyone and I am often in Southington for work.

I'm not sure what it was , could have been chemicals used to clean the hallway carpets but the entire first floor of the hotel except for our room had the nastiest smell . It was overwhelming .

Not up to Holiday Inn standards of comfort. Room is tiny and spartan. No desk. No luggage rack. Chair wedged into corner. Limited space to move around.

People were outside making noise until almost midnight. The walls are thin and we could here what people were saying in the next room.

It was the smallest king room I’ve ever been to.

Hotel was nice and comfortable but there was a gap in the doorway to our room therefore heard everyone in the hall talking and slamming doors. Need better fitting door or sound proof stripping installed around the room doors.

Amazing facilities and communication

I enjoyed my stay and the front desk personnel were very accommodating. I arrived early and they were able to get me in no issues. Then had an issue with the AC/Heating unit in the room and after realizing it would need a longer fix they moved me to a different room with no problems. My only issue the entire time I was there was breakfast, just wasn't as good as all the other HIE I have stayed at throughout the country. But other than that I would stay again in the future.

Very comfortable, quiet & the predictably high standard of cleanliness you expect when booking at the Holiday Inn. My only hesitation is our room: #200. Avoid it at all costs. By far the smallest in the hotel & the heating unit was old & so loud I came very close to asking to move. It literally clanked & knocked every time it came on - sounded like it was about to die. The fan in the. bathroom ran constantly. I peeked in a couple of rooms with double beds when the maids were cleaning as i walked down the hall & they seemed much more spacious. Just bad luck but if I were management I’d either take that room off the roster or save it as a last resort. OR fix it!!

Check in, cleanliness are 5 stars. However security is terrible. Around 2:30 AM a very noisy group arrived on our floor. They were talking loudly and going room to room slamming their doors, shouting and talking very loudly. After ten minutes of this I called the front desk. No answer and I called several times. I tried giving it a few minutes but it got worse. Since no one was responding I opened our door and yelled for them to be quiet. No response. I called reception again, this time a man answered and said he was very sorry and would look into it. No one came up for at least 15 minutes. They must have been drunk because they started arguing and one person was even in the hallway sobbing loudly. I was about to call 911 when someone from hotel staff finally got to our floor and got them to quiet down. When we checked out we told the staff who said they were sorry. I mentioned that guests like that should be just ejected, period. I heard the staff member say that a lot of people were complaining and that she appreciated their quieting down. I’ll never stay at a Holiday Inn again. There should be zero tolerance for loud drunken guests who take more than an hour to settle down. We had to take a sleeping pill to get back to sleep at 3:30 AM!

This hotel was convenient for us because it is located close to family. The room was clean, and the front desk staff were very helpful. During our stay, on a Friday night, tnere was a lot of loud noise from a nearby room. We called the front desk, and they handled the matter. The free breakfast was good.

Stay here on a regular basis for work and always a solid experience. Nothing fancy, just clean solid stay. Typical hotel breakfast is offered and always pretty decent, very nice and helpful staff!

Stuart at check in was one of the friendliest hotel staff I have ever encountered - very pleasant, helpful, and was interested I was there meaning not looking at a phone, rushing to get me gone, etc. Great welcome! Also, breakfasts were well stocked, very good selection, tables cleared on an especially busy morning, and warm/hot.

Very nice staff, I was able to check in early and it was a quick process. I got to switch rooms (didn’t need two beds) with no problem at all.

Was given a room to key an occupied room. So so so unsafe! We got there at 12:30am, the room key didn’t work. Went down to the lobby to get the key fixed and he gave me a new key that did work. Upon entering the room it was clearly occupied by someone else. Thank god they weren’t in there though! Promptly went back downstairs and the guy working the front desk claimed that was our room and no one else should be in there. I had booked a 2 queen bed room and the room we walked into was a king! Not even the right style! The breakfast area in the morning was very over crowded with young high schoolers, trash everywhere, and almost none of the breakfast items were in service or available even an hour before close. There was a huge clump of hair in the shower and it barely drained either. Would not recommend. Especially for paying almost $200!

I stayed at this location with my son the night before a conference in downtown Hartford. The hotel was well kept and staff were welcoming. We had anticipated on staying at another hotel downtown for the rest of our stay but unfortunately did not feel safe in that neighborhood. We immediately returned to the Southington hotel. While a short drive from downtown it was in a safe location and well kept. I would recommend staying here if in the area.

Hotel is right off the highway and convenient. Location was also very quiet and felt safe in a neighborhood.

The convenience of the shopping mall with restaurants. There was plenty of parking without having to walk much to far from the hotel.

The rooms are small, but that was ok. Great location for our softball tournament. Close to the interstate.

It was convenient to route 84.

The staff was very nice and professional. The room though, toilet seat was loose, door stopper was hanging off the wall, and the mattresses were EXTREMELY soft. The breakfast was very good though.

The front desk staff was great! The room was good, bed comfortable, the shower fantastic! The breakfast buffet was terrible, very dirty, eggs all over, dirty tables to sit at, a pancake under the machine. And worst of all the only reason I stay at the Holiday Inn Exspree is for the cinnamon buns and you were out for both days I was there!! Very disappointing!!

The staff were all diligent and helpful. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.

We like the free parking and the convenient location. It is nice that they have breakfast service. However, it was understaffed. A nice lady was doing it all by herself in the cafeteria. Perhaps she should have someone else helping her during busy days like the Thanksgiving weekend.

The hotel was very quiet and the beds very comfortable .. the only thing was breakfast service did not keep up with the morning crowd so we had a very light breakfast because the trays were empty .. there were several breweries and the sushi place nearby was very good
