Red Roof Inn Ocala

First room they assigned was on the first floor and smelled like urine. They said they could spray air freshener it the first floor rooms were pet friendly (we didn’t have a pet). They finally agreed to reassign us. Second floor room was fine. About what you would expect from a budget brand hotel. Overall a fine experience despite the initial experience.

Convenient

The rate was cheap and the 2 staff I dealt with were kind and professional. Thats where it ends. There were exposed outlets/wiring in the room. The security chain was broken off the door. The smoke detector was covered with plastic. We had to pay extra for a room with a mini fridge. It didnt work. Then there was the filth. The hand soap dispenser in the bathroom has visible grime on the pump. So you know its never cleaned. There was gunk and junk in all the corners of everything. One of the 2 mattresses in a 2 queen room had no life left and sank straight to the box spring. I have no idea how this place was rated an 8 on guest ratings. Its a 5 at best.

When you make a reservation 2 to 2 1/2 weeks in advance I would expect when I get there that they don't oversell the room that's the purpose of me setting a reservation I set a specific room for specific dates and then they rented it to somebody else thats smh! what else would you expect for a red roof
