Super 8 by Wyndham Pensacola

At booking was promised a large continental breakfast showing eggs, bacon, waffles, etc. I was excited about this as we were there for a basketball tournament, and my daughter would need those items to play. Breakfast actually consisted of three prepackaged powdered sugar doughnuts and a mouth wash cup of orange juice. I ended up have to spend an extra $100 during our stay to provide breakfast for my family. As to the room the bathroom knob was loose and hanging down. the gap under the door leading to the hall was so wide you could hear everything going on in the hall. the AC unit was loud and would wake me up every time it clicked on, and there was no pool even though one was advertised.

The carpets in the hallway were extremely dirty. The towels were dirty. The floors in the room were not cleaned, I found licorice between the bed and the bedside table. There room lighting did not work, the toilet ran, the refrigerator was rusted and there was no safe. Vagrants who were seen rummaging through garbage were also seen seated in the lobby. Staff did not wear uniforms nor carried IDs/name tags. “Breakfast” was coffee and pre-packaged mini donuts. I would NOT recommend this place.

The hotel was in disrepair and there was always an employee out front smoking as well as a heavy odor of something else being smoked in the lobby.

Breakfast was lacking. Hallway floors were rundown. Had a big cockroach show up in my room and we killed it. No coffee. The bed was confortable and the AC was working good. So was the bathroom. Working microwave and fridge. Ways to make hotel better. Replace hallway carpet because its presentation is old and dirty looking. Have available breakfast for us. How is there a cockroach that big in the hotel? Gotta keep such things from hotel at all costs...

All of the front desk, clerks and cleaning staff were very friendly& helpful if we needed anything. AC in room rusted/not working properly. HOT. Took hours to cool down. *continental breakfast the first night of my day consisted of little packs of three donuts or a stack of saltine crackers or something and the carafe of coffee. I did not try the “continental breakfast” again due to the lack of it on that first day. The room has been refurbished several times and the tile job sucks but at least it is tiled in the bathroom.There was dirt piled up in the corner or grout or something, see picture.Layers and layers of caulk from previous years at baseboard and tub/toilet area looked gross. Aged tub,the faucet in the tub was very difficult to get to an even temperature. It was either burning scolding, hot or cold.The bearing in the faucet may be old/bad.The scalding water at the sink & tub may need to be addressed for safety reasons. There were a couple of hairs that were not mine on the bed under the pillow area,please check to make sure the staff are actually removing the sheets and blankets between guests.-This is gross & if I had not been in a hurry to get somewhere, I would have made a complaint and had them change it immediately. There is no pool or outside area except the sidewalk and a bench for people to loiter on, so there was nasty food remains left in the parking spaces several times when I was out there coming and going.

There was no laundry and there was no breakfast as listed. Good for the price. Disappointed no breakfast

I found a roach in our room after the first night. The hotel was banged up and not well kept. It appeared clean until the roach incident. There was broken stuff just laying around the room. The continental breakfast was mini 3 packs of hostess donuts, they had 6 packs out for everyone and Dixie cups next to the juice to have. The elevator was scraping along the walls on the way up. They also required a $50 cash deposit which they don’t mention on the website and did not offer to refund the cash when we checked out. We almost left without it and had to remind the employee about it??? Crazy. Anyways I would not recommend when you can stay at an airbnb for the same price and better quality.

The hotel staff were very friendly and I could tell they tried their best to easy my mind about the quality of the room. But the paint was chipped and the pillows were dirty. The price could have been less for the quality of the rooms. But I understand they are going through some renovations. I did not notice any bugs on my stay. But not see a working pool. I took pictures. But my room was changed 3 times and due to accommodations I would feel terrible to post.

While Megan at the front desk was amazing, this facility was awful. We went through three rooms before finding a room that was actually clean. There were many people lurking outside smoking, which made us feel uncomfortable and it smelled of cigarettes in common areas. There is no breakfast, although advertised. Stairways are filthy. Do not bring children here. $50 cash deposit is required, but nothing has been kept clean.

Room was clean staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy...dislike carpet smelled in hallway...and no laundry on site

Property was dirty, mouse droppings & bugs in the bathroom, one of the beds squeaked all night with the slightest movement, no breakfast as advertised

The front desk clerk was wonderful, unfortunately that was the only great thing about this hotel. The hotel had a smell, our room had roaches and smelled like marijuana. It was a late check in and we were so tired, we couldn’t drive anymore or we would have left immediately, we slept for four hours and didn’t have great sleep. It definitely was overly priced for the crappy stay. I do not recommend, this place is unsanitary and should not be allowed to continue to operate.

I was beaten by bed bugs on 8/21/24. My right forearm was very itchy and woke me up in the middle of the night. I found my arm was swollen, red, and very itchy. I had 5 bites on the right arm. I checked the mattress, but I couldn't find bugs. But, I am sure they are bed bugs due to the pattern and symptoms. FYI, I am a nurse. I went to the front desk immediately, reported it, and requested a room change. The night shift staff was nice and prompt to change to another room. Fortunately, the second room was fine. The hotel gave me a refund for the stay. However, I had suffered from severe itchiness and discomfort on the sites for a week.

The room was nasty, had hair all in the bath tub, ants on the sink. We checked 6 other rooms which were the same but had roaches and ants. Avoid this place at all cost. The blue angle bestwestern up the road on detroit blvd is much cleaner for close to the same price.

I went off of everyone else’s reviews and booked with Super 8. When you walk in the office smells musty and dirty. We got to the room & the AC was off and the room was extremely hot and took hours to cool down. The room felt dirty. The floor was sticky. The rooms smelled absolutely terrible. The place is run down. Our floor in the bathroom was soft and sunken in. If I could give 0 stars I would. The night shift lady I checked in with was friendly though.

Roaches!!

Room was clean but was infested with roaches and bed bugs...switched to another room to have the same issue

Terrible! Breakfast included is a lie and we woke up to roaches crawling on the ceiling.

The AC vent was nasty!!! I cleaned with a wash rag and it was black when I was done. There was a roach in the bath tub and the mattress was wore out!

Place was filthy, tv didnt work, had to change rooms, no hot water. Next room wasnt much better.wasnt

Nice room, just extremely small. No room for a desk and actually narrow to get into the room. Small package of donuts was not much of a breakfast. We didn't like it when someone unlocked our door in the morning and peeked into our room, asking if he could service our AC unit. Yikes!

I like this property, but the wall are real thin and you can hear tv from next door. Also you can hear people talking from next door . Families stay here and a lot of teenagers walking around talking in the halls. But nice and clean family environment. Not for party people, feels safe !

The room was ok for what we needed as this was an overnight business trip. However- I had to go get a remote for the TV as there wasn’t one in the room. No iron, phone did not work to call to the front desk. The knob to turn on the shower was broken so we had to spend 10 min trying to figure out how to use it so we could leave and that set us back 30 min.

Tv reception not too good. Toilet has some issues. Hairy bug in bathtub.

The room was old and had a bad musty smell to it. Some of the outlets did not work. The rooms need some serious updates to it. The front desk lady had family and kids hanging around. We where woke up from the loud voices and cussing.

Couldnt use our phone unless you were by the window and the breakfast was only a little pack of donuts. The Internet wouldn't work the whole time we was there. The bathroom shower knob was broke and the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall and the toilet was really loose.

One of the worst places we stayed at. With a large family of 8 people, I always book hotels that advertise breakfast and that together with price were the main reasons I picked this hotel. We booked two adjoining rooms, but both rooms had various issues. Trim missing from bathroom cabinets in both rooms, toilet seats and toilet paper holders were loose. My elderly father almost fell when holding onto a table to steady himself because the legs were not screwed in properly. Bathroom door did not latch. Biggest disappointment though was the so-called "breakfast". When I walked in, I saw a sign that said "Continental Breakfast Hours: 6:00AM - 9:00AM". Got up around 6:00 and went to the lobby to go get coffee and see what they had for breakfast. There was one small shelf with two pump pots of which the one with the regular coffee did not work and a small tray with 15 small packs of Donettes mini donuts. I asked the front desk where breakfast was being served and they said "That's it!" So, if you expect breakfast, they don't have it. We won't be back.

Pretty awful experience. The photos of the property on the website are false. We checked in late for a quick sleep on a road trip. The room was extremely dilapidated, the tub was unsafe, the shower handle fell off the wall when turning it off, the whole cover to the AC unit fell off when turning it on. The “breakfast” was only small packages of hostess donettes and if you want juice you can get it 2 oz at a time from bathroom mouthwash cups. The photos of the well stocked breakfast area on the website are false. The room was overall pretty dirty. Hair and dirt everywhere. Won’t stay again.

First, they make you goto a gas station/ATM for a cash deposit. This place double charged my card for my week stay. I still havent gotten my refund and it has been over a week. Then I left early in the morning, the lady who checked me out did not giving me my deposit back. (Apparently its my job to remember that.) I live in Texas and they are refusing to refund the money to my card, and refusing to let my family member who lives in florida come pick it up. So I feel scammed. I will never stay her again!!!! Almost $800 they wont give back to me! This owner also owns the Days Inn around the corner!

The desk personnel were all friendly and helpful. I was not prepared for the CASH only deposit of $50. The expedia listing said $100 but nothing about cash only. It was only a slight inconvenience but we were exhausted when we checked in. Other than that, all was well.

Night staff were fine. Room smelled musty and moldy. Sand was in the tub. Woke up went to get the free breakfast that is advertised, ouldnt find it as it’s hidden in a room. Asked the front desk clerk who was sitting in the “lobby” on his phone, and he just waved towards where it was. Went. Nothing. A juice machine that was running low and coffee. I went back and asked and he continued to sit and basically laugh at me and shrugged his shoulders. Another man came in claimed he was the manager. I asked and he pointed to the vending machines. I said that the hotel advertised a free breakfast. He said cookies which I told him there’s nothing out and he again pointed towards the vending machines. A woman came and started yelling at the housekeeper, the only one who we saw actually working. The manager and woman had just been outside. Needless to say we just left. Ashamed to admit I let my children stay here. We won’t be returning to this hotel, and if Wyndham continues to allow this, as now I see that people have been complaining about this specific hotel for a while with no changes, we won’t use this chain. Definitely a black eye on this chain. Wish I could get a refund or something. False advertisement and poorly ran.

Awesome staff very welcoming and helpful

When we first got there the room we were supposed to be in the air conditioning didn’t work. When I told the manager we were upgraded to a different room for no charge.

Stayed one night. Was told refund for the next night would be sent in a couple of days. Haven’t received any response from them. Maddie is the best employee EVER! Give her a HUGE raise! She helped us out, and went way over-the-top to provide the best service.

This place is nasty they do not clean your sheets during stay. Threw clean towels down on dirty floor. Breakfast is a package of donuts. Front desk people are rude and the room is litterally falling apart. They also try to get you to give a $50 CASH deposit once there. Whoch in my opinion is shady.

After booking and paying online, non-refundable, upon arrival I was told I had to pay a $50 cash deposit to be allowed to check in. I did not have cash, there is no atm at the hotel. I have never heard of such nonsense and will definitely not ever use this brand again or book using hotels.com who did not make this clear before paying! I’m weary from driving yet had to go find an atm in the dark by myself. Disgusted with the entire experience. Then there were children running and screaming in the hallways at 11:45pm. I believe they were the same children that were hanging out in the lobby when I was trying to check in. Children of the employee at the front desk and their friends. The included breakfast was cold coffee probably from the previous day, and some packaged donuts. Terrible experience

Tanya at this hotel is absolutely amazing and is very sweet! Every time I see her she's extremely busy and I think she is what makes this hotel run all the way around!! This hotel is very clean and quiet. Safe location and in walking distance of stores fast food and restaurants. I would highly recommend this place!!

This place was really dirty. The rooms were dirty and bed covers were not washed. The shower had and bathroom had sand everywhere. There were people yelling and fighting several doors down creating an unsafe environment for us. Never again at this hotel. Staff was nice but the place was just unsafe and not being cleaned thoroughly.

Most of the staff was super friendly. Check in was easy. Fairly close to perdido key beaches and the navy base.

At the entrance to the front door there were seat plants! Did not feel very welcoming. The staff was friendly and the room was clean, the mattresses were confortable and the room looked clean. It was a good price and the area was very convenient with restand shopping nearby

Close to interstate and places to eat. I did not like put in a double bed wheel chair room when I specified a room with a king size bed. Also, instead of a continental breakfast, they only had coffee and minature donuts.

Only problem here was the the piece in the back of the toilet that flushes it was broken upon arrival but overall the rooms are clean and staff is amazing here! It's quite and stores fast food and restaurants are all within walking distance which makes the location very convenient

Staff was great but the atmosphere was not so pleasant. Smelled like a retirement home. A lot of things didn’t work. Lights didn’t work in first room and ac didn’t work and smelled bad then next room the bathroom sink didn’t drain and there was a German roach. If there is one there is more. Breakfast is literally just hostess donuts and crappy coffee

Everything was fine except for the breakfast. To be honest, breakfast is fine at other Super 8s in other cities, but in this city it was my worst experience. They serve the cheapest orange juice, cheap donuts of very low quality, the coffee was very unpleasant, and the staff said they had tried to talk us out of improving the breakfast service, but their superiors didn't take it into account.

This place is ok. There is not breakfast there is coffee, juice and donuts. That's all. There is a microwave but I'm not sure why.

The room smelled clean and looked cleaned, although the bathroom needed to be cleaned better. Free breakfast consisted of a small pack of hostess donuts, some coffee, and juice....I was a bit disappointed that this was considered breakfast. Overall the bed was very comfortable and the hotel was very quiet at night. Good to stay if you need a place to sleep for a night or two.
