The Flagler Inn - Saint Augustine

The place was what I would expect from a average hotel. But the place is broken up into two separate buildings. Our rooms were across the street not even attached to the main building. Shared a lot with a Mexican restaurant which I did not like! Left for dinner and came back to nowhere to park due to the bar/restaurant patron's parking in the same lot. Didn't like the idea of bar/restaurant customers parking next to my car after leaving the bar! I'm parking at a hotel not a bar so i think anyone would have concerns with someone coming out after drinking all evening and dinging up your car because they don't know better. Also the breakfast wasn't the greatest. I understand it's complimentary in the hotel does not have to serve it the food was okay but it was the dollar store type Styrofoam plates that I had an issue with.. made waffles in the waffle maker and couldn't even cut them on the plate because the plates were so cheap. I would have been better off slapping it on the table and using the table as a plate but overall it was a decent stay I just feel like these few things would deter people from staying here. It was affordable and decently close to everything.

Upon check in wasn’t verbally acknowledged and I as just handed key to room. Didn’t know about breakfast, pool hours or WiFi. Room AC not working well and very humid and damp in room. Mold in the bathroom. Refused to move us or refund us to go to another hotel. Highly allergic to mold spores so this hindered my breathing. Male who works overnights was out in the parking lot about midnight in a heated verbal altercation over guests and their booking of a room…very late checkin and reservation not confirmed. He was so loud everyone was coming out of their rooms. Pool was disgusting and we didn’t swim. Housekeeping never came once in the 3 days we were there and we did request services. NEVER again will I stay here and it was expensive for what we received. Couldn’t even get a name, number or email to write a letter to about the whole experience.

I thought the property was closer to St George St; the hotel has no shuttle to the city.

Great location. Simple stay. Pool is not heated. It was colder than the ocean while we were there. Otherwise enjoyed and would stay again.

Clean rooms breakfast is not anything special convenient to old town in st Augustine. Trolley can pick you up at hotel Savespm driving get the 2 day pass.

The stay was great besides the train noise all hours of the night and the roosters . Breakfast was good for the most part. Rooms were clean when getting there but noticed they never once came and cleaned our rooms so had to keep going to the front desk to ask for stuff. Pool was great !

Stay was nice. Beds were comfortable. Front desk needs to be more personable. Coffee was empty but front desk made it for us as soon as we asked. Breakfast was basic but acceptable for the price included. Only suggestion would be that person responsible should be aware if food is empty. Came in at 8:00am and eggs were empty. Shuttle service that was suggested was amazing. 5.00 a person.

I liked the staff and convenient to downtown. Not really a fan of the saltwater pool though

I wish I could say something good about this hotel, but there really was nothing good to say. The pictures are misleading. The room was very worn and the sheets were old and piled. There were cockroaches in the room and it appeared. Someone had killed one and did not bother removing it from the light fixture. The view out of our window was the stairwell to the second floor, and there was a woman sitting beside of smoking drifting into our room. The building was not even on the property with the main hotel. It was a building across the street which shared a parking lot with a Mexican restaurant that was a trivia competition so there was no place to park in the spots were incredibly small. Except for the Mexican restaurant, there was really nothing close by for food, we stayed here because it was recommended by Ticketmaster when I bought my tickets to a concert in the area. There were many hotels closer to the amphitheater that would’ve been a much more pleasant day we had to physically go ask for more towels and soap. This hotel is not in a better part of Saint Augustine, and although it was inexpensive, I would’ve paid more money and stayed in a nicer clean hotel. Also, there were trains that went through all hours of the night somewhere nearby! I guess the moral of the story is that you cannot necessarily go by ratings or Ticketmaster recommendations.

Website indicates shuttle. But it ended up being the old town trolley which you have to pay for. A little deceiving. We did buy the old town trolley tickets so not a big deal but could have been.

Bed comfortable, couch dirty stained, ottoman plastic leather was ripped. Bathroom ceiling mold shower rusty floor . Never had the food.

The room was clean. The floors needed to be mopped. The bed was very comfortable. The people at the desk were exceptionally nice. They were very informative The location was great. The breakfast was very good. The coffee was amazing!

We were disappointed that the room was not clean and we killed several roaches. There were cobwebs in the corner by the door and hair and dust along the bathroom wall. It was simply poorly cleaned.

Floors, shower, and table dirty

Would not stay here again due to the very strong smell of mold in the 2 rooms we had. Very uncomfortable and unpleasant. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast

This was the second time staying here. We like that they keep the facility clean. The continental breakfast is great. I highly recommend this location.

When getting ready for bed at midnight, we realized there were bed bugs and immediately left and went to the front desk. There was no one there and the doors were locked. I called the number for the hotel and did not even get an apology. My niece who was traveling with me was bit by the bugs and on top of it, there were no hotel rooms left in town (music festival and the Daytona 500 were that weekend). We wound up having to sleep in my car for the night.

The Bedroom floor is ceramic tile which you would think is easy to clean but sometimes a floor needs a wet mop or a wet swifter. After 5 minutes walking on the floor our feet and socks were black. I washed my feet in the shower, walked around a few minutes and they were dirty again. The toilet had a big black mould ring under the lip of the bowl that was clearly visible when standing. I work in a dirty work environment and I actually felt dirty staying here

There was mold on the shower head. Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Chipped paint, chipped wooden furniture, dirty blankets, sink was broken and we had to Jerry rig it to get it to somewhat work which we told them about night one and no one ever came to fix it, drug dealers coming through, the lobby smelled like cigarette smoke, the rooms had non working phones so you couldn’t call to the front if you had an issue or needed anything. The whole stay was terrible!! Would not recommend to anyone!

There's a really bad smell of mold and damp here, unbearable. I woke up several times during the night that I couldn't breathe. The bed was clean, the towels were clean too. Everything else in the room (walls, handles, nightstands) etc was dirty. The guy at the front desk was very helpful

Very bad WIFI access in the room for all our 3 phones. The receptionist was not helpful at all.

Very nice hotel. Had a great stay. LOVED the AC/Heating unit at the ceiling. The vents MOVED! So everyone was able to feel the fan. But i do want to say if youre a lite sleeper the train going by 2 to 3 times a nite will wake you.

The Flagler Inn was a fair hotel for our stay in St. Augustine. Upon arrival, we noticed a bit of humidity in the room (which is normal for Florida), but setting the AC to dehumidifier mode resolved the issue quickly. The location was very convenient, with everything we wanted to explore close by, which made getting around easy. The hotel provided a decent and comfortable place to rest after a day of sightseeing. It’s a good choice if you’re looking for affordability and convenience in St. Augustine.

The room was very reasonable for the rate, seemed like maybe had been renovated in recent years as the shower is one of the cleanest I've ever seen. The walls are thin, you can hear the TV in the next room and all traffic outside. Breakfast was nothing spectacular but was enough to get me going and save me a stop on my way to my class. Never felt unsafe though the wifi would not work with what I was given and a different wifi of the same name but with capitals seemed a little suspect, so I used my mobile hotspot just in case. Overall, not a bad stay since I only needed it two nights to sleep.

Room 202 was huge! We loved the suite. Small shower area but everything else was wonderful

We had a great time staying at The Flagler Inn. The rooms were very large. The beds were comfortable. We had two adjoining rooms which the staff let us move into ahead of the check in time which let us get out and enjoy going to the lighthouse ahead of when we thought we would go. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that the lock on our one room door decided it didn’t want to work. Thankfully we had the 2 adjoining doors and simply used the other room to enter. The front staff was extremely helpful with suggestions on where to go and how to do it. We definitely didn’t have enough time to explore some places we really wanted to see so we will be planning a return trip and will stay here again.

Very old and outdated. The air conditioner on the wall above the bed was blowing black stuff on the bed so that one couldn’t be used. The shower was made in a way that got water all over the floor no matter what position the shower head was in. Extremely noisy…you can hear every door open and close, anyone outside, and a train at all hours.

Hotel was close to St. George Street. Room was clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast was very good both mornings. The only problem was that we were unable to connect to the internet no matter how many times we tried. It appears the password was not input correctly on the hotels end. The password we were given would never show up correctly. We would stay again.

The room was clean. The breakfast area was always clean. This is the third time staying here, we love the location and how close to the old part of town. The only issue with this stay the ac didn’t work very well in our room, we had to turn it down as low as it would go and it still barely blew. I didn’t say anything to the desk because this trip it was not as hot. If it was in the summer I would have told them about it.

Grest location. Room was a bit musty smelling on arrival but once aired out it was fine.

I felt the staff was accommodating and caring by helping with small and larger requests. While the property has been there for many years, they continue to reinvest in the rooms with fresh paint and new furniture as well as thorough cleaning. I feel Flagler represents a good value.

The receptionist at the front desk she was very friendly and very helpful she contact Trolley so the could pick us at the hotel. Very friendly.

Called left message never got call back. Called second time an hour later question answered. Got to Hotel no one in lobby but 2 other guests. After several minutes called hotel again let clerk know we were waiting. Clerk was not very cheerful or friendly. She did answer all our questions.

I can’t say enough about Melonie M. the young lady that checked us in. After telling her that this was our first vacation in 15 years and that we were celebrating my husband’s 80th Birthday the following day She went above and beyond to Make His Day Special, something that WE Will Never forget. Thank You!

Very nice front desk staff. Inside and outside of property-especially the lobby area-was nice and clean. The rooms were updated with lots of space, but can definitely tell it is an older property, for example the room was a bit musty and the shower water smelled of rotten eggs, but good shower pressure. Walls are thin and we could hear people coughing in the adjacent room. Great parking option, and only a five minute Uber drive to the historic district. CVS is across the street which is convenient, as well as next door to Taco Libre which is nice. Could hear road noise for sure in the morning. Nice breakfast option in the morning-did not partake but it looked good. Would stay again for the price.

Five minutes from downtown. Room was clean and is exactly what the pictures detailed.

Nice clean place to stay with breakfast close to old town

We were in tow for one night for Nights of Lights. We were very pleased with the hotel. It was close to downtown and easy to access. Parking wasnn bc plentiful. The service was awesome and the rooms were very clean. The rooms were much larger than most hotel rooms as well. The a/c unit worked great and the room was very comfortable. We have no complaints about our stay.

Hotel is close to everything. Not walking distance for most but not far. Its on a busy traffic corner so may not be preferred for light sleepers. All in all the staff was super nice, room was clean, lot was well lit with plenty of parking. Breakfast was decent .

This hotel was one step above camping. If you are okay with the bare bones, however clean it's good. Positives-good price, close to pool, microwave, larger mini fridge, very clean, nice hotel staff, dollar store is about a mile away, cheap price. You are only about a couple of miles from downtown....cheap Uber or lift like $10 one way, good breakfast. Negatives- shower drain clogged, shampoo is cheap, no coffee maker, hair dryer is one speed, no variety in breakfast. Same continental breakfast....fruit was slim Pickens Overall it was a great vacation for a budget.Do not come here if you want to be pampered.

This hotel was an older property, it was clean and a good value for the price. The breakfast was not great but if you were hungry and didn't want to spend extra money it worked.

Finally a hotel where your privacy is respected. Staff at the desk was overly helpful every time.

I loved the atmosphere of this hotel. There was just a weird noise in my room that I assume was coming from the plumbing while I was trying to focus on school assignments. Also, my waffle tasted a little sour I couldn't finish it.
