Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Tampa North

Spa was not working. Under construction for what looks to have been awhile. Pool was dirty. Breakfast was terrible. For paying almost $200 for ONE night it was rather disappointing. Definitely dont recommend this place and definitely wont be back.

For a Marriott property, the hotel looks like the forgotten child. It definitely shows it age and is in need of a facelift. Everything about it screams tired, including its employees. When we entered our first room, it STUNK so bad of moth balls and mold, we ran out and downstairs to get another room. Only thing left was a hearing impaired room. The second room was okay, nothing special, nothing nice to say about it, and a TINY countertop with no space. Beds were okay, pillows uncomfortable. Breakfast was not as expected as well for a Fairfield. The woman in charge did work hard to keep up with demand. Front desk staff was decent. They had their hands full as the elevator. DID NOT WORK during my entire stay. Great fun carrying stuff up and down the stairs. This hotel was NOT WORTH THE PRICE and it should have been discounted due to the inconvenience of not having an elevator. In the future, I definitely do not plan to stay here ever again and advise others to steer clear as well. Changes at this hotel are definitely needed.

This is the 4th time I've stayed here in 15 months and twice the hot tub was either out of serice or broken. Perhaps they should stop advertising one. Before 5 i went to the desk to tell them the hot tub was cold. Ibwas told by the desk it was a hot as allowed. Inwrnt back out @ 5 and it was almost as cold as the pool. I went in to get the manager (whobseemed annoyed) who called some maintenance person and all they could say isnl they cant fix it till tomorrow. Maybe if someone would have listened the first time it couls have been repaired and they would have a satisfied customer. The hot tub is the only reason ibpaid a higher price to stay there. Wont happen again. There is a Hilton 2 minutes from there that will get all my business from now on.

Was very disappointed that they locked the pool & hot tub up at dusk. We\'re in Florida people are coming here for vacation and you cant even sit around the pool after "dusk". Which means in the winter they must lock up by 8.

Breakfast was good but elevator is broken.

The property was clean and the area was quite. It's conveniently close to I-75 & I-4.The lobby, breakfast area, and gym are small. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The area is quiet, clean spacious room. The only thing I didn’t like was the outside pool area. The water was so cold and really needs a face lift and the jacuzzi was out of service which wasn’t mentioned at booking. Also the tv service was very very slow, it took a long time trying to find a channel to watch. Other than that the stay was pretty decent and would book again.

I booked the hotel because it had an outdoor pool for my kids, but of course, it was closed for renovations although no one worked on it the entire time we were there. The night we arrived I was told that it would be open the next day, but the next morning I was informed that it definitely would not be open until the end of the month and she wasn't sure why I was told otherwise. I know! She lied to me to get me not to be irritated at her even though I told her it wasn't her fault and that I was just bummed. Also, they had given away all the double rooms (that I prepaid for) and gave us a room with a king bed and a pullout sofa. It eneded up being ok but there were no sheets or pillows fo rthe sofa, but i didnt know this until the morning after my son literally slept directly on the mattress. Everyone was really nice and apologetic. The room was spacious and the breakfast was okay. However, I thought the coffee in the lobby was great. Better than most hotels that I've stayed in so that was definitly a bonus.

feel the parking lot is very dark

Would\'ve been a fine stay overall, but literally the Sole Reason we chose this hotel was for the hot tub. Only to find out its "broken". Its frustrating to deal with, because this was a splurge, otherwise we couldve just stayed down the street for $80 less. Very disappointed.

Front desk very nice. The room is outdated and the ac smelled of mold. Would not go back

The room was moldy, the air in the room was humid, there was mold in the shower. It was overall a gross experience and I got very sick after my stay.

Problem with AC, inside is humid and sticky but check air is down freezing. Mold on walls in hallway as well

This hotel needs to be completely closed down for fumigation due to bed bugs!!! I am totally disappointed with management and house keeping management check ups!

There were bugs in my room. The front office staff put me in a different room and that room also had bugs. I did record this incident with my phone. I requested a full refund, but only received one night stay back. Never again will I stay at this property

Very clean and hygienic

I stayed at this property a few times and it was pretty good however the last time was not. The first room had a very strong pungent smell which was intolerable. We were moved to a second room which smelled like somebody just use the bathroom (#2). There was urine on the toilet seat and on the floor.

Our room was not vacuumed when we arrived. I know that because I could see large particles on the floor. The hotel needs a makeover. Pretty shabby in some parts of the room. There was a hole in the carpet and damage to door. The breakfast area wasn’t well maintained. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Staff was really nice, but our room was very humid that the walls were coming apart. We feel like the hotel should've had a dehumidifier and a roll of toilet paper was covered blood or something.

Clean room and a great location. Quick access to everything and nice staff

Room was small, with little space for our items, e.g., closet was extremely small. There was no place to hang towels by the sink. Room service took the used towels, but never replaced them. We had to get to the front desk each day to request towels!

Bedding was uncomfortable and the room was so small that there is no proper desk area.

Regret not asking for a room away from the elevator. Mechanism very noisy. Also. The air freshener that they use is VERY strong. Would prefer much less.

The bathroom had poor lighting and the usb plug by the bed was broken but the room was clean and everything else seemed to be in order.

Room wifi did not work! I was displaced due the hurricane and have a voucher but everywhere was full. So I got weary and paid for a room as I needed to work. Being I couldn’t connect it was a total waste. The bedding and nightstand also had some kind of tiny insects im hoping not bed bugs

The room was a nice size and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was decent and served the purpose well. The noise level our first night was very loud- unsure if it was sound in the hotel itself or if it was coming from a neighboring property. There was a strong mildewy smell after a massive rainstorm occurred; enough to make my head congested. The a/c system may need attention to prevent this from happening.

We stayed here while visiting USF, and the location was good—very convenient to both the university and the highway. The room itself was a decent size, and the front desk staff was welcoming and helpful at check-in. However, there were several drawbacks to our stay. The curtains were sheer, and with bright lights shining outside, the room stayed uncomfortably bright all night. However, the room was quite dark with limited lighting. Noise was also an issue, as footsteps from the floor above were very loud. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, with noisy springs that could be felt through the mattress. Breakfast and parking were both complimentary, which was a plus. The breakfast selection was average: the waffle mix was thin, but the French toast sticks were decent, and there were some good wallergye-friendly options available. Overall, while the location and staff were positives, the comfort, noise, and lighting issues significantly impacted the quality of our stay.

This property was conveniently located to where I needed to be, it was easy to find.My room was mediocre.It looked like it was thrown together from the thrift store.The night stands didn't match,there was no decor on the walls,the curtains looked old and had no way to block outside light,the ironing board was torn.The TV didn't work when I arrived,cords were unplugged for cable and internet.It took almost an hour for maintenance to get there and he smelled like a marijuana factory,it was obvious he'd just been smoking;the smell lingered after he was gone.The bed was just the mattress, no box spring.It wasn't very comfortable.Breakfast was included and started at 7am.I needed to leave the hotel at 7am to be on time for my obligation so I went down just 10 minutes early to see if they were set up just to grab something quick to go.The lady had everything set up,but as I grabbed a few things she informed me that breakfast didn't start until 7 and that being the only employee in the area to refill things,she didn't want other people to know that they could get food even 10 minutes early.She went on to continue arguing that "if this were a restaurant like Bob Evans, I wouldn't be let in the door before the restaurant opened and the hotel breakfast is the same thing."I felt that whole interaction was ridiculous.Breakfast is included in the stay and was the main reason i booked the hotel and not an airbnb.The fact that she continued to try to kick me out and argue was unprofessional

Smelled like wet dog and weed. Walls are paper thin and everything can be heard from the hall and surrounding rooms.

Why was getting 2 bottles of water so difficult? 2 were provided as a welcome, but the two other times that I came to the desk asking for bottled water I was made to feel very uncomfortable, as if I were being greedy. I was traveling with an infant, and the water was to make a formula. I was told that there was water available in the gymnasium! Seriously Over bottled water. I’m actually considering not returning to this property and I’ve stayed there for over 10 years because it’s located so close to my daughter‘s home in Tampa.

Great Staff!

We stayed at this Fairfield for two reasons, 1) I personally prefer Marriott Courtyards or Fairfields for their cleanliness and hassel free stays. 2) This visit was out of necessary due to a home a/c failure and we were able lock a fair and affordable rate for two rooms within issue on short notice. 3) This location had a wonderful complimentary breakfast which was plentiful and not purposely reduced or nonexistent at other competitors. This Fairfield had kind and accommodating staff that took care of our needs and even a late checkout ws granted since our ac repair coincided with the original check out time. We have young children under 3 that needed to be in a safe and cool environment while this was happening and Fairfield came through. Thank you!

The hotel personnel (gentleman) who checked me in was amazing, extremely professional and helpful in bringing my delivery all the way up to my door. I couldn't ask for more better than here. Welcoming. I also enjoyed the gym and the continental breakfast, which was served on time right before my seminar started at USF. Thanks again, guys for your hospitality. I will syre stay here next time I visit, and will also strongly recommend to anyone visiting nearby.

The hotel was nice and clean. Only problem was at check in. We waited for over ten minutes for some one to notice us and finally knocked on the inner door to their office. The staff member came out and actually put the bell to ring up on the counter. No apology was offered. No smiling face. Not friendly or welcoming. Otherwise a very nice stay.

Near USF

Close to USF campus and Busch Gardens. Easy to locate. Ample parking.

Just stayed 1 night but overall the room was clean and the location was perfect if going to bush gardens

It was off the highway on an odd loop of just hotels. The parking lot was a bit dim and a lot of racoons milling around the dumpster. Greeting was nice. Property needs renovation as all is a bit tired. Beds sag some, pillows are lumpy, poor lighting in the room, towels are not soft anymore. Breakfast was decent in variety and supply. Nothing hot and fresh, more prepackaged stuff. Overall, its price is fairly low and you get a decent sized room and a pretty good breakfast, just not to be confused with a proper Marriott.

Nice place. Clean, quiet, friendly and helpful staff. The complimentary breakfast has lots of good options and Bob Evans is right next door for other food options and is in walking distance.

Great breakfast, clean rooms, and the staff are very kind. I’ve returned to the hotel multiple times as a result of the good service and cleanliness.

Good location, clean, comfortable and nice staff. Close to USF. Quiet area. My only complaint was the first morning I came down to breakfast at 8:45am (I believe it runs until 10am??) only to find all the hot food was gone and no more coming out. Attendant didn’t expect the amount of people that came down for it. Poor planning on hotels part considering that’s its USF move in weekend so I imagine there were quite a few families checked in. The attendant was very apologetic and was kind enough to make us some scrambled eggs. Unfortunately there was as not much else to pick from so we still ending having to eat breakfast elsewhere. Not a good way to start our day.

I stayed at the property for business purposes and unfortunately, I wasn't able to get much work done. I was out of my room all day so that housekeeping could come, but it took until the day before they finally made up the bed and provided fresh towels. Additionally, the breakfast crew was absent during my stay, leaving everyone waiting for breakfast that ultimately didn't happen. They managed with what they had in the kitchen and at the front desk did the best they can, offering cereal, muffins, hard-boiled eggs, and bagels. Despite these issues, the property itself is very nice, and I do plan on returning.

At this price point was good, clean, felt safe and no problems. Staff kept breakfast stocked and were friendly. Would stay here again.

I deleted this hotel due to the breakfast being included, however, there was absolutely no breakfast. There weren’t even plates and it looked like a war zone. It was a horrible experience.
