Flight canceled so this was a quick overnight. Room was small and carpet seemed dirty. AC made terrible noise when it ran. I ended up with several bug bites on my mid section so I’m guessing bed bugs or fleas. I’ve stayed in Hampton Inns and usually they are much better stay than this one!

Location is great, near every thing. Had a yummy Hilton breakfast! Cons: our room was dated. Carpet was very gross. The bathroom wasn’t caulked right so it looks weird. Shower was very dated. Found hair from cleaners and crumbs in the bed. Just need to be a little more detail oriented when cleaning.

The staff and the service was great, breakfast had a good variety and was good. The only issues I had was the wait for transport from the airport, 20 minutes for them to do a less than 5 minute drive. The other issue was the sheets had not been changed. I pulled the blankets back and there was blood on the sheets.

Bathroom was clean. Carpet should be replaced. It felt sticky & yucky wirh bare feet. Thought a lamp was dead, turned out it was unplugged, but didn't see that until morning. The room felt very humid.

The receptionists and cleaning staff were all exceptional. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was very satisfactory with hot and cold items, pastries, juices and milk and waffles. Plenty of hot coffee and a small merchandise area with beverages, wine and personal and incidental supplies. Very close to the Des Moines airport. However, The room carpet was filthy (white socks were black after a few minutes), the room chair was dirty with stains (I threw a blanket over it to sit in it), and the bathroom floor was sticky. 2 stars out of 5. I won't stay there again.

Service was top tier (including Molly), but this hotel is in desperate need of a remodel. TVs had issues, the lobby was very drab and dated. I hope they do something soon because the location to the airport and dining was great.

It was clean and had hot water unlike another Hampton on the same trip. The gap under the door was big enough to let in all the hall noise. It was not as quiet if a room as I would have liked.

The AC/Heater in the room cracked and popped all night long every 5 to 10 seconds. It kept us awake all night and we needed to get up at 3:30am to catch a flight. I told the front desk in the am, and she didn't care a less. Guarantee if you get room 321 you will not sleep!

The staff was great and so was the breakfast. We chose this hotel because it was easy to take my daughter to the airport in the morning. We also loved the restaurant recommended by the woman at the front desk (Skip’s - best steak in town!). The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating is because we were a family of 4 adults and a small dog and were put in a room which was barely big enough for 2 people… It was too cramped and the bathroom was tiny… Definitely should not be advertised as an adequate space for a party of 4.

We were caught in the Thanksgiving snow storm and our flights were canceled for two days. Hampton Inn is super close to the DesMoines airport and has a shuttle so we chose this hotel. All of staff are extremely kind and accommodating and it feels like a family owned hotel. They made our inconvenient 2 days of being snowed in warm and comfortable.

We had such a great stay and felt so welcomed by the staff except for our check out day @_@ the lady who checked us out Sunday morning was unbelievably rude and unhelpful. It almost made me forget how sweet everyone was to us during our stay but overall had a great time...I just hope the check out lady on Sunday was just having a bad day and doesn't treat all the guests the way she treated is :(

Best part the experience was the desk clerk who checked us in. She was extremely polite and professional and went out of her way to accommodate a request we made on check in. She should be teaching a class on how to properly run a hotel desk.

Waited 25 minutes for a shuttle, took calling 5 times to get through to the hotel. Front desk clerk was extremely rude. I requested a ground floor room twice by calling the hotel directly 2 different times. When I arrived at the hotel I was given a room on the 3rd floor. This used to be my choice hotel when I traveled. I will not stay here again.

Mostly good. There could’ve been more breakfast items? Like maybe two choices of eggs instead of just the omelette? You were out of a few bakery items also. Maybe you could use a little update in the hallways. They seemed old.

Just a bad experience overall. I'm not sure how others have rated this hotel so high. The beds were rock hard. The shower was hot then cold. No bar soaps for the sink, had to use the liquid body wash from the shower if you wanted to wash your hands. The hotel in general smelled like dog. The breakfast was really bad. The potatoes weren't cooked all the way. The juices were colored water, and the sausage wasn't even breakfast sausage. I guess I should have read more into the price of the room than the brand of the hotel.

Dear Hotel Management, We checked into the Hampton Inn Des Moines Airport shortly after midnight and walked out within 15 minutes because the room was disgusting and completely unfit to stay in. We have stayed at many Hampton Inn properties over the years and have always had positive experiences, which is why we booked this hotel. This location was a shocking embarrassment to the Hampton Inn name. The room was absurdly small, with a bed and chaise lounge jammed into the corner like an afterthought. The chaise was covered in heavy stains, including one large stain in the center that looked like bodily fluid. The carpet was filthy, the air conditioner had visible mold and excessive condensation, furniture was chipped and damaged, paint was peeling in the bathroom, and a large gap under the entry door let in hallway light and noise. When we pulled back the sheets, we found multiple hairs on the bedding. We never unpacked, never used anything in the room, and left immediately because the condition was so bad. The front desk experience was just as awful. When we asked for another room or a refund, the clerk told us we were interrupting her smoke break, disappeared for about 30 minutes, then came back refusing to help and threatening to call the police simply because we wanted our money back. This was the worst hotel experience we have ever had and a complete failure of basic cleanliness, professionalism, and customer service.
