We booked this hotel to stay after a long 10 hour day of traveling. My kids were dying to get out of the car and burn off some energy in the pool. Unfortunately, someone had thrown up in the pool just before our arrival and the pool had to be closed for cleaning. We were disappointed. The next morning we were assured we would be able to swim within the hour, so we delayed our departure time, only to find out that it was a bigger cleanup than anticipated and we still would not be allowed in the pool. This was of course at no fault of the employees, but I felt we should have been compensated somehow. Which we were not. For the price of our room, we expected use of the pool. We could have stayed somewhere else. A good hotel, but disappointing night. Breakfast in the morning was excellent though.

No pool during renovation. It would have been nice to know prior to booking. While this has happened previously at other hotels in the area usually a price adjustment was made. Didn' t have time to matter this time but was not aware in case we had time to use the pool

The entire property is extremely clean. The lobby, room, bathroom, pool area, dining areas. The staff is wonderfully helpful and friendly. I have stayed at this property 7 or 8 times. I leave my home in Southern California and travel all day, with my three small children,through Utah and other states to get to Idaho Falls for an overnight stop to Northern Idaho. Almost every time, we have been welcomed with a small complimentary dinner that has been an incredible blessing after traveling all day and not having to 'find' or prepare a meal. My family and I have a quick bite to eat and are able to unwind a bit more before bed and another long day of driving. So Grateful!

Overall a great pet-friendly hotel near the falls and restaurants. Good breakfast that is kid-friendly. Has an elevator. Only downfalls: a dirty sock in the closet and the pool is so cold we had to 'swim' in the hottub, which was lukewarm. My kids still enjoyed the hottub. Would recommend for families and dogs.

We have been here many times before and it started out fine until later when I found that someone had taped the door strikers down using a piece of gorrilla tape making it so we couldn't lock the door and the door could be opened from outside without a key. This was about 11:30 pm so the front desk said all the doors but the main lobby would be locked. The next morning I spoke with the GM who expressed concern. After assurances that he would get the issue resolved. I asked to at least have the room cleaned and all linen replaced because it appeared that the room had been used without that service before our arrival. For instance we had run out of TP and there was no spare roll in the room and other things as well. We asked that they do it soon as we needed the room to get dressed for an event later that day which he agreed to do. The cleaning staff didn't come until we were in the middle of getting dressed. They did freshen the room but could see they were not very thorough. We were here for multiple days prepaid from a third party. At checkout I asked for a statement of any incidentals charged to the room. The girl at the front desk said her records show that I still owed for the room. I insisted it was prepaid but she insisted we owed the money. I produced a bank statement and reciept from booking the room. But only when I was insistant did she change her position saying that was what was paid. If that was the case why did I need to show proof of payment?

The room we stayed in was clean, but so noisy I thought something was wrong! Banging on the walls all night long. In the morning we were told by the front desk that it was the boiler and that they try never to put anyone in that room because of the noise. We got no sleep and no hot water in the morning. A horrible experience with zero assistance or concern from the staff. They refunded us $12 for the experience. A joke.

Not very happy about the shower area. First, the shower controls. Very confusing. So bad that they had to put a diagram in the area to show you how to use it. Next for the handicapped tub. Such a large step over to get into the shower. From the outer edge of the tile to the inside of the tub had to be at least 12”. And over knee high. Also the floor of the tub was pretty slippery. Thank goodness for all the safety bars.

Two unsafe experiences: 1: After my son and I checked, while getting unpacked a male who worked in the hotel opened our room door, without knocking. I said excuse me! And he said I’m sorry and closed the door. I have traveled frequently for over 20 years with more hotel stays than I can count and this has never happened to me. I felt violated and questioned the integrity of people who work in this hotel. 2. I road the elevator down and when I got to the bottom floor there was a closed door in front of the elevator doors as they opened. I did have a small panick attack until something in me said try to push it, I did and it opened. However, when it opened there were employees of the hotel standing there and I said why was that closed that was terrifying and they said: I don’t know and offered no explanation or apology on what they had just witnessed. Was the elevator broken and should I have been on it?

I road the elevator down and when I got to the bottom floor there was a closed door in front of the elevator doors as they opened. I did have a small panick attack until something in me said try to push it, I did and it opened. However, when it opened there were employees of the hotel standing there and I said why was that closed that was terrifying and they said: I don’t know and offered no explanation or apology on what they had just witnessed. Was the elevator broken and should I have been on it?

We have been here many times before and it started out fine until later when I found that someone had taped the door strikers down using a piece of gorrilla tape making it so we couldn't lock the door and the door could be opened from outside without a key. This was about 11:30 pm so the front desk said all the doors but the main lobby would be locked. The next morning I spoke with the GM who expressed concern. After assurances that he would get the issue resolved. I asked to at least have the room cleaned and all linen replaced because it appeared that the room had been used without that service before our arrival. For instance we had run out of TP and there was no spare roll in the room and other things as well. We asked that they do it soon as we needed the room to get dressed for an event later that day which he agreed to do. The cleaning staff didn't come until we were in the middle of getting dressed. They did freshen the room but could see they were not very thorough. We were here for multiple days prepaid from a third party. At checkout I asked for a statement of any incidentals charged to the room. The girl at the front desk said her records show that I still owed for the room. I insisted it was prepaid but she insisted we owed the money. I produced a bank statement and reciept from booking the room. But only when I was insistant did she change her position saying that was what was paid. If that was the case why did I need to show proof of payment?

The Hampton was a great place to stay. Very clean, comfortable and the staff very friendly. The pool and hot tub are clean and it is open 24 hours! The hotel is also in a great location so that you have access of a number of restaurants, breweries and activities.

We enjoyed our stay here in Idaho Falls. When we checked in at 5, we were invited to a build it yourself taco dinner in the breakfast room. Our accommodations were clean and looked new. It was quiet in spite of being adjacent to the airport. Multiple entrances accessed with the room keycard made it convenient to move suitcases from the car to the room and back. Tasty breakfast with extras not always included. Would recommend highly.

Hampton Inns are usually a safe bet for a clean and comfortable stay, but this Hampton was a cut above. We added another night to our stay due to unexpected travel changes and were so glad we did. Not only did they provide a delicious hot breakfast each morning we were also treated to a "Taco Tuesday" supper and their delicious end-of-day warm cookies! Great stay!

I was very surprised by an unnecessary and inconvenient experience at this Hampton Inn. I went to purchase a couple of beers and was asked to present my ID. I completely understand the need to verify age when purchasing alcohol. However, I did not have my ID with me at that moment, and despite being a registered hotel guest, I was required to go all the way back up to my room just to retrieve it before they would sell me two beers. I respect alcohol regulations, but the way this was handled felt excessively rigid and lacking in basic common sense and customer service. Surely a hotel should be able to verify the identity and age of a registered guest through the information already provided at check-in or find a more practical solution. Having to return to my room solely to prove my age for the purchase of two beers was frustrating and, frankly, ridiculous. Policies are important, but hospitality also requires some reasonable judgment.
