I was part of a party of four people. The parking is literally right underneath the hotel - lift straight from the car park to the reception. Food was amazing at the SUSHISAMBA & the atmosphere & views make it an extra special evening. Our rooms were beautiful. Very comfy beds & all the extras you would expect from a five star hotel. Finally, Alexander the concierge went above & beyond to help us each day with hints & tips ‘ made us feel extra special. He genuinely wanted our stay to be perfect. Huge thank you!

Having stayed in many of the Bonvoy selection of hotels around the World we were looking forward to our stay at W Edinburgh. Sadly the experience was terrible !! The rooms were small ,dark and dingy with no views. The bathroom was a joke ! The smallest bathroom we have ever had in a hotel. Tiny sink area very close to toilet with a basic walk in shower. No room for a bath ! Internet didn’t work and even 4-5G reception was poor. We decided to have pre-Dinner Cocktails in the bar on the 11th Floor and were refused entry as we didn’t have a reservation. Crazy !! The final issue was the noise from the elevators. Which disturbed our sleep. All in all for £450 a night …TERRIBLE !

We enjoyed greatly our time at W. Very close to a mall, tons of dining options within walking distance. Sushisamba tasting menu was an excellent culinary experience. The 360 views from terrace of city are a must see.

Incredible location, rooftop and room. We had a King Suite with Castle View. To be honest not a direct view of the castle but room was incredible and spacious. Bed was comfortable and luxurious.

Unique architecture and very large room very nicely decorated. Balcony overlooking the city. Rooftop bar with great view. Very helpful front desk staff and we greatly appreciated the early check in.

From the second you walk into the hotel the staff are incredibly accommodating and welcoming. Nothing was an issue for anyone and check in/out was seamless. The hotel oozes class with the rooms all modern and the on site facilities are fantastic. There is a selection of different cuisines on offer from the hotel restaurants and the roof top is not to be missed. We can’t wait to come back and fully experience the away spa and will definitely stay for more than one night.

Very impressive looking hotel. Perfectly located for a stay in the city. Friendly staff. We were in a room that looked over a flat roof, we could also see into the bathroom of other rooms very clearly! The room and hall always had smells of onions and cooking, this enabled us to open the window. The hotel stated that the minibar is fully stocked but during our stay it was never filled. The tea and coffee wasn’t replenished on our second night. We couldn’t get into our room the second afternoon, a nice young lady from reception waited with us for maintenance to arrive to change the batteries on the door, this took a while. Eventually we were offered a free drink in the bar whilst we waited for the door to be fixed. In my opinion the hotel has all the glamour of a 5 star but it’s the little things that are missing.

We arrived at the hotel past check-in time about 6pm. We were told our 2 rooms are not ready and they are unable to advise the time when the room will be ready. This is not like we are there at 1 or 2 pm before check in time. We were there after check in time and we were still told the rooms are not ready. The service staff were impatient and wasn't helpful as we were there with 3 kids; one of them is still a baby. The staffs could have been more empathetic and provided more a better solution. They offered us drinks were also limited. Checked in and the rooms were dusty. My kids had a bad skin allergy reaction after sleeping there the first night. Staffs were not helpful to getting us to a nearest doctor. Overall VERY VERY disappointed from a W hotel Chain. They can do a lot better for a 5 star hotel.

Hotel is a lovely new build, staff were friendly, rooms were really nice… but the cleanliness let it down… There were urine marks on the toilet floor, coffee stain on the bedding, the dust was thick, finger marks on glass and fridge door. The pillows were awful, bad night sleep. Luckily we were only there for one night! This let down the hotel and our experience staying there!

Just back from our stay at the W, overall great hotel and location! The room was beautifully styled with a fantastic shower. Only negatives were that we unfortunately had been left a dirty plate in the room and you could hear noise and doors slamming from the corridor. Would recommend for the location alone though.

Front of house staff were always welcoming and friendly. Room was well equipped and spacious. Roof top bar had what must be the best views of Edinburgh. Fantastic design. Sadly had an issue with housekeeping which I felt when raised was not adequately taken on board. Let the experience of staying at the hotel down.

Loved this hotel and the area it is located is perfect to explore Edinburgh. We did not try the food. The rooms were clean and had very modern technology. We loved how quiet it was so we could sleep.

Very nice hotel - staff very good. Room nice and excellent breakfast. Too hot in bedrooms - aircon unable to go below 19c quick is too hot for a comfortable night’s sleep. This will need to be remedied.

Great location and extremely friendly staff. But…..room design was very poor. You have zero bathroom privacy. Tv was poorly positioned. Windows were so dirty I doubt they’d ever been cleaned. In the evening the top floor bar became a drunken teenager shout fest.

Lovely hotel, great service. Loved the room for me on my own but personally wouldn’t want to be sharing with someone else as the toilet and shower are in the room behind frosted glass. If you go to the toilet in the night a very bright night light comes on and takes a long time to go off lighting up the room.

Reception staff messed everything up. I had booked 2 rooms and checked in early. I didn't expect it need the Rona to be ready but I did ask that the rooms be as close as possible. I was told they were adjacent - great. However where weeturned

Paid £850.00 for one night, my son and I , one room 2 double beds…u would’ve thought that would be easy….NOT went to check in at 1230 knowing we wouldn’t get into our room till 1500 , but wanted to leave bags…no issue. Went back at 1455 to be told room needs more checks, it’s been cleaned just needs check…didn’t really understand but hey ho..off we went to rooftop bar where we stayed until a phone call at 1520 room ready ..great. This is where it all goes horribly wrong…1st impression was a stony faced reception person (3rd one we have dealt with fair to say other. 2 were lovely) she began but offer me a replacement key to which we replied why we haven’t booked into room yet, then she tells me we have been upgraded to a room with ONE double and a RUNAWAY bed…I stated NO THANKS I WANT THE ROOM I HAVE PAID FOR, at no point was I been considered for this at no point in the check in were we offered water or fruit juice I might also add. So at least 15-25 mins go by with her typing and not being empathetic at all…I asked what the hold up was and she stated that because she had checked us into a room we didn’t want we had to stand there until she amended her incompetence. We asked to speak to a manager and abruptly she stated she had asked her to come out…15mins another un -empathetic woman appeared shock my hand (thinking that would defuse the situation) so I told her all…but nothing….so nearly £900 quid down the drain for an awful experience NEVER TO BE REPEATED…

Went back at 1455 to be told room needs more checks, it’s been cleaned just needs check…didn’t really understand but hey ho..off we went to rooftop bar where we stayed until a phone call at 1520 room ready ..great. This is where it all goes horribly wrong…1st impression was a stony faced reception person (3rd one we have dealt with fair to say other. 2 were lovely) she began but offer me a replacement key to which we replied why we haven’t booked into room yet, then she tells me we have been upgraded to a room with ONE double and a RUNAWAY bed…I stated NO THANKS I WANT THE ROOM I HAVE PAID FOR, at no point was I been considered for this at no point in the check in were we offered water or fruit juice I might also add. So at least 15-25 mins go by with her typing and not being empathetic at all…I asked what the hold up was and she stated that because she had checked us into a room we didn’t want we had to stand there until she amended her incompetence. We asked to speak to a manager and abruptly she stated she had asked her to come out…15mins another un -empathetic woman appeared shock my hand (thinking that would defuse the situation) so I told her all…but nothing….so nearly £900 quid down the drain for an awful experience NEVER TO BE REPEATED…

Front of house experience was excellent and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room was excellent, clean and had everything that we needed. Was looking forward to breakfast but was let down by slow staff, incorrect order, delayed food coming once we’ve finished. Had to repeat the request so many times, not ideal. Food was adequate and had better at other hotels of a same star. Nice restaurant and view but let down by staff not being on the ball.

The reception staff was not helpful at all and she made us wait 2 hours for the room until 3pm and then we only got the rooms 3:35 We were three adults each in a room and she asked me twice why did you book three seperate rooms and she was shocked. I felt like a movie star during my ten day stay! I absolutely LOVED that we were able to enter a 3 story mall, had at least 12-15 eating options within a minute or 2 walking distance. The staff, top to bottom was PERFECTION!! I will always stay here when I visit Edinburgh! It was the ICON of the city. Thank you for helping us celebrate our birthday with such beautiful letter and star treatment!

Lovely stay, really comfortable bed. Lovely room and facilities. We went the the W lounge twice in the afternoon it was excellent, however at night the service was very slow. The man serving us was lovely, there just didn’t seem to be enough staff. Took over 20 mins from ordering a drink to being served it and we had to chase it.

Great location for sights and tourism. Brand new hotel so great condition. Trendy decor and nice rooms. Very close to Waverley mainline station. Quality staff. Was great value for money at the price I got from Expedia, as was quoted considerably more elsewhere. Excellent table service/menu breakfast, but not great if you're in a hurry. But if on a weekend type break, enjoy! Limited charging and desk space if on a busy business break. But if there for tourism or personal visit then great value if you can get a good price.

The W is in a fantastic location! So convenient to tourist & general public transportation. The St James Square Quarter mall has so many great food choices & shops! I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel room and staff were excellent — everyone was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, breakfast for my husband was disappointing. He ordered scrambled eggs on sourdough toast, but it first arrived on bread that hadn’t been toasted. The waitress was lovely and took it back, but when it returned the toast was burned and there was no butter. It felt like the chef was annoyed at the feedback, which isn’t what you expect, especially with breakfast costing £30.

What a hotel! The amazing views from the top. Sushi samba was a bit expensive but for special occasions it is well worth the price. Breakfast was amazing ! Best in Edinburgh. The rooms are fresh,modern, trendy and very clean. This is my second stay and will be the hotel I now always use in Edinburgh, the staff are fantastic and can’t do enough for you.

We enjoyed greatly our time at W. Very close to a mall, tons of dining options within walking distance. Sushisamba tasting menu was an excellent culinary experience. The 360 views from terrace of city are a must see.

Fantastic hotel very modern and trendy. Breakfast is amazing the best in Edinburgh. I upgraded to the balcony room which is great as the weather was lovely so we sat outside for a few drinks before evening meal which is rare in Edinburgh. Views are great and staff impeccable. Shops around are modern but easy walking distance to the castle and all the history in Edinburgh. Just across the road is the train station so no need for a taxi.

The W Edinburgh is well situated between the Old Town and New Town and very quiet considering its location. The staff was incredible and very accommodating with welcome drinks and bringing bags up to the room. The room itself is quite spacious, however, the only thing to note is the bathroom situation which is two separate rooms for the toilet and shower with frosted glass which is open to the room so everything can be heard. Other than that, for a couple of nights, the hotel is perfect and would recommend for couples given the bathroom set up.
