Ramada by Wyndham Ellsworth / Bar Harbor

Wir waren drei Nächte im Juli dort und hatten ein großes Zimmer in der 2. Etage. Das Hotel hat einen großen Parkplatz und eine Laundry mit Waschmaschinen und Trocknern war für uns sehr wichtig war. Zudem gab es einen Frühstücksraum mit einer Aussenterrasse (war jedoch ungepflegt und wir von keinem benutzt). Jedoch gibt es keinen Aufzug und daher muss man die Koffer enge Treppen hoch schleppen. Das Zimmer hatte eine Pantry und ein schönes Bad. Insgesamt war das Zimmer schön und sauber. Das Frühstück hat uns weder geschmeckt (nur abgepackte Lebensmittel) noch war der Frühstücksraum ansprechend. Deshalb haben wir nicht mehr dort gegessen. Das Hotel diente uns als Ausgangspunkt für den Arcadia National Park. Es bekommt 3 von 5 Punkten von uns.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights with our dog to visit Bar Harbor. The staff were all super friendly - really couldn’t have been nicer. The reason for my low review is because we found a live bedbug on our second night. I captured it and took it to the front desk and Sam took it very seriously, acted immediately, and moved us to a different room at the opposite end of the hotel, after she personally inspected the new room to ensure it was clean. They also refunded our stay. This can understandably happen after a busy season with so many travelers but this bug was full grown and just chilling on my pillow, telling me their pest control policy may not be up to par. We would have left and found another hotel but it was 10:30pm and we were traveling with our dog. We inspected the new room and didn’t find any evidence of bugs. The room was clean and comfortable.

Our experience of this property was terrible; the room was very tired and looked nothing like the images during booking, bed and sofa were covered with pet hair, and the ancient heater / air conditioner was so loud as to make conversation difficult, let alone trying to sleep. Despite having a kitchenette there was no extractor fan and the windows didn't open, which was perhaps a blessing since refrigerated trucks park right outside with the engines running all night. We got the impression that most of the staff work hard to make the best of a very old property, but overall I'd have been disappointed had we paid $80 per night, not almost $400. Won't be rushing back.

No rugs or carpet. The room was dark and bare. All the lampshades were ripped and torn in many places. It was dark and depressing. Will never stay here or any Wyndham again.

No elevator !!! Room is not very clean. Breakfast food is limited.
