It’s definitely a place you stay to feel apart of the historic New Orleans life…it’s a old property of course but the room was not to bad, average mattress , a mini fridge that did not work at all. the worst part of this hotel is the rooms on the front are in the main lobby so you hear everyone coming and going all night slamming the door that comes into the front/office and the other back door that goes into the court yard where the other rooms are… if you want a old hotel with a ghost story to stay in just for the heck of it I’d recommend it for one night but nothing more than that we had to circle the block multiple times to park in front of it then wait awhile for someone to get our car to the off site parking garage… the price on Expedia of 29 dollars they ask you to pay extra does not actually cover the parking that’s no good upon arrival ;( and it’s not 45 a day it’s 52 a day for you to park with them, I know it’s not that much but 29 they took from Expedia plus 52 adds up to way more than what’s shown ;(

Hisrorical building that could use some repairs, but Convenient location for a stay in the French Quarter. Staff was friendly and attentive. Water and coffee in the lobby was a plus. Overall good experience

Staff was exceptional and so kind. Zach was especially helpful in sharing information about the area. It is an older hotel, but that’s part of charm & history. However, suggest requesting a room in the main building as they appeared more comfortable and in better condition than the room we had in the rear building off the courtyard. Secured parking and fast service to receive your car. But the hotel’s location make is easy to walk everywhere.

We enjoyed our stay at the Andrew Jackson Hotel. The building was built in 1800s so you need to know that going into it. It will not be the same experience as a modern hotel. We loved the location! Our room was fairly large, and was pretty quiet, we didnt hear many people at all, but we did hear a dog yipping next door from time to time. The walls are thin, but again, the hotel is historic. The staff were great!! Always present and had coffee each morning ready in the lobby.

We loved staying at the Andrew Jackson Hotel! The staff were wonderful, the room spacious, the courtyard so fun to sit in. Resident courtyard cat was a plus and seeing the paranormal tours come through was fun. Great place to stay and close to everything.

We didn’t see any ghosts however we stayed in the hotel building, not the outside courtyard so at night while we were trying to sleep it was very loud, and with all the lights off the room was still very light, and bright almost as if there was a light on. Staff was nice, parking situation wasn’t ideal.

I wanted my husband to have a real New Orleans experience, and they did not disappoint. I did have to work on an end table because there are no desks, so I could have stood a little more facility, but we did get one of the smaller rooms! the staff was friendly, there was free coffee, and it was conveniently located to everything we needed!

Property was fine, everything was as expected except we had to pay an additional $10 property fee and an additional $50 for the hotel staff to take our car and park it somewhere in a parking garage offsite.

This was a cute small hotel with personality. It has a history of being haunted and there are tours that start in the courtyard. Hotel was clean, nice size rooms. Some are indoors and others in the courtyard. Nice seating in courtyard. Excellent lication walking distance to everything. Highly recommend hotel.

Our stay was not quite what we expected, originally our room was towards the courtyard, However we were moved last minute to a room attached to the lobby and next to the street. It was unbelievably loud and hard to sleep, the lobby echos and every word can be heard in the room. We know the street and environment can be loud in general, but the lobby playing music or a show all night and guests being checked in during the morning hours caused a lot of discomfort. Cockroaches in the shower too….if you have end up booking maybe just ask to not be in this room.

I found it odd that not once during our 6 night stay did they clean our room. We had to ask for more towels since not even that was done. I don't think that sheets and the such should be washed every day since that is wasteful and unnecessary, but cleaning the room, taking out the trash and making the bed and the such should be done daily.

Extremely disappointed with this place! Please please check your room bed & mattresses. They gave us room 210 and it was absolutely shockingly disgusting! The room was dirty, dusty, bugs, old opened beer cans left inside the closet but the worse part was the bed. The sheets looks dirty and stained and after seeing a comment about bed bugs we decided to check the bed sheets closely and the mattress. When we removed all sheets including the mattress protector what we found on the mattress was insane! There was a huge stained that looked like dry blood that covered most of the top part of the mattress alongside with several other stains throughout. We were truly in disbelief. We immediately grabbed our luggage and notified them we did not feel comfortable staying there after what we saw. We were so excited to stay here, we understand the hotel is older and expected the room not to be in this perfect condition, but this was just a disappointment. To top it off, the REFUSED TO REIMBURSE US OUR MONEY!!!!!

The property was unclean and in very poor condition. Toilet in two rooms would not flush properly and the shower had awful water pressure and would not drain well. The water from my shower the night before was still in the tub when I woke the next day. There was peeling paint on the walls and door, visible dirt on window blinds and walls. I would never stay in this place again. Please do your research before staying.

Believe other reviews that say this hotel is not as clean as it should be because I am going to second that. During our 5 night stay there, room was not made at all. Towels had stains on them. Floor was covered with lint and dust that cannot be seen on the surface but I can tell from the bottom of my slippers. The bottom part of my slippers looked so gross after 5 nights there that I had to throw them away and didn't even bother to clean them up. That floor must not have been swept and mopped since the guests before us. Our room had decent hot shower with good water pressure. Toilet and bathtub were clean. Location was great and close to everything. Though I don't think I will come back because it is such an old and run down hotel that is not clean.

We stayed here super bowl weekend so knew the prices were inflated. We spent a tremendous amount of money to stay here. The pictures on the web site looked great. The hallway to our room was very dirty. The room itself was disgusting. The bed sheets were brown. We asked for new sheets and those weren't much better. The vents in the room had black mold and the other one was caked with dirt and dust. I had white sox that I wore in the room and the bottoms became black from walking on the floors. The bathroom vanity was so close to the sink yo were almost hitting your knees and the vent in that room was falling off. I have never in my life stayed in such a dirty, disgusting room. The only redeeming factor of the hotel was its' location.

The window lever in the bathroom was hanging and about to fall off, drywall/plaster cracked and painted in ver with a different color, baseboard in bathroom falling off, dust for 50 years built up on the vent over the bed, mattress was sunken in on one side, gap around the entire door leading to the outside, chain on door was broken, and we could hear every word that was spoken and every footstep outside of our room.

We stayed from Saturday to Wednesday and were not impressed. If I could have, I would have stayed elsewhere. The room was not clean, it took 3 requests to get clean linens and towels, our towels and linens had hair and makeup on them. I will go back to New Orleans but I would not stay nor recommend the Andrew Jackson.

The AC was good, the room was clean when I first arrived but housekeeping doesn’t really make it much more clean after your stay. They only change the towels and bins. I didn’t have a bedside lamp or hairdryer in my room which would have been nice. The facilities do need a lot of TLC but the age of the property has a very charming quality and the courtyard is beautiful. I would request to not stay in the lobby rooms as it is incredibly loud. I had to swap rooms for a courtyard room and after that I had a pleasant stay.

I booked a 250 sq ft room with King Bed for two nights. Parking was additional $37 per day. When we arrived the staff offered a room with a Queen bed so we would not have to climb the stairs. The room so small there was no room to open suitcases except on the bed.The room did not have internet and we spent the evening trying to resolve the issue. Internet access was only available in the lobby but the lobby has no desk or table. The room had a large window in the door which opened to a courtyard with lights on all night. I was up all night and the mattress left me with a bad back.We requested to be moved to the booked King room and packed up our bags. We returned to the room at 3 pm, our room had not been changed. The staff advised that someone was to repair the internet so they would not be changing our room.I advised we needed to be moved to the booked King room. They moved us to a King room with no heat and no internet. They moved us again near the lobby, it had internet but no heat and no cable. We turned off the air conditioning, but a vent blew cold air all night. I advised we we needed a blanket or heater. When we returned to the room that evening, they handed us a blanket. In the morning we advised at 7:30 am that we were checking out and needed our car. They advised that the car storage facility did not open until 8 am. We left the room and waited in the lobby for our car. The car which was "across the street" did not arrive until 8:45.

I was up all night and the mattress left me with a bad back.We requested to be moved to the booked King room and packed up our bags. We returned to the room at 3 pm, our room had not been changed. The staff advised that someone was to repair the internet so they would not be changing our room.I advised we needed to be moved to the booked King room. They moved us to a King room with no heat and no internet. They moved us again near the lobby, it had internet but no heat and no cable. We turned off the air conditioning, but a vent blew cold air all night. I advised we we needed a blanket or heater. When we returned to the room that evening, they handed us a blanket. In the morning we advised at 7:30 am that we were checking out and needed our car. They advised that the car storage facility did not open until 8 am. We left the room and waited in the lobby for our car. The car which was "across the street" did not arrive until 8:45.

Very nice small hotel right on Royal St. staff is fantastic, especially Abby at the front desk. My only issue is don’t stay in room 101 it’s a 2 queen and is the only room ground level on Royal street and connected to the lobby. It is loud from 10am with street performers until forever and you can hear everyone come in the building and conversations of people walking past. It’s a famous building so tours stop outside your room all the time and you can hear everything.

Negatives- you can hear every door shut all night long, the vent system is connected so you can hear conversations in other rooms, the evening staff claimed they didn’t have shampoo available until the following morning- really he didn’t want to go get us any. Two of the four staff we saw in two days were great. We didn’t mind the room not cleaned each day, but given attitude when we asked for clean towels.

This place really sucked. It's not worth the price. I also wish I didn't book through Expedia - they were no help at all. My brother and I were put in room 101. It's right in the lobby and right on the street. It's extremely loud, which wouldn't have been so bad, except that there was no hot water. They said would get it fixed and they didn't. We couldn't have a shower for the duration of our stay.

It’s a give/take. The place is in the perfect area. There was no cable and when I told them they just said “the inside rooms often don’t get the cable”. The room was very comfortable and the staff was friendly.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It is full of New Orleans history and charm. The room was beautiful, clean, and spacious. The staff were personable and fun. My only complaint is that we paid for an upgrade to alleviate street noise. While we were not directly on the street, our window did face an alley that came off Rue Royal. Just as we settled in for the night, there were several bursts of loud noise (music and party goers) that echoed through that alley. Of course, we know it's the French Quarter and noise is part of that. But paying for an upgrade that is marketed to alleviate the noise is a bit tricky.

It’s a hotel with a lot of charm and history. The staff were so great and the location is perfect to walk to the shops and restaurants. I didn’t like that the pool is a 6 min walk away. Also, the air conditioning didn’t work the greatest. The staff tried to remedy the situation, but it was just a little too warm for our liking. Of course, it’s an original hotel, so it’s not an unexpected problem, just wanted to let people know in case they want to bring a fan, etc. overall, it was a very nice stay.

Rooms are adequate size, bathroom was clean. Nice courtyard. Enjoyed our first day there. Leeroy is professional and nice. Problem can on our last night when we returned to our room and it reeked of smoke. Person in charge stated she had no authority to move us or even open the empty room next to us to see if it smelled. She could not reach manager. Was given managers number when we checked out. Called him when we got home. He said he had to investigate- it’s been over a week- no phone call. We go to New Orleans at least twice a year- never had had complaints- we always give positive reviews. Not this time.

This hotel was dirty and had no hot water. I asked Expedia to call them to find a resolution. After no compromise could be found I was told by Expedia the hotel would cancel the booking. Now the hotel is charming me and Expedia will not help me. Expedia should not do business with this hotel. It is dirty and they are dishonest about their refunds.

Leroy, in particular, was super helpful and always went out of his way to ensure that our needs were met. Abby was the absolute best. She gave a locals perspective with lots of recommendations. Anytime i needed something or had a question she was able to assist me. The other girls were less knowledgeable and one of the girls said "I don't know the area that well." Of course when she said that i went looking for somewhere that had hair brushes. The only thing I forgot. When I got back from thw building diagonal from the hotel at an Aveda Salon is when I met Abby and she told me everything I wanted and needed to know. The other girls need to know how to recommend things, events, and places to guests like Abby. Now when we checked it, it was late. Delayed flights and all so my husband and I were tired. Unfortunately there were dirt stains on the top sheet so we requested to have them changed in the morning before leaving to the museum. The cleaning staff didn't make it to our room until after 2 pm to change the linens, so we had to leave and come back to get ready for our steamboat tour. The most part the property is very quite except for one guy of boys that came stumbling in at 2 am being stupud loud and yelling to the point that someone else yelled at them to quite down. Of course I'm putting it very mild of what was yelled at the drunks. As far as the haunted part... we didn’t see or hear anything in room 106. I can't speak for other rooms. The hotel is within walking distance to Bourbon St and a longer (approximately 30 min) to Frenchman St. We loved Abby!

I have always wanted to stay at this very charming place! It is very central to most everything in the French Quarter. The staff is very friendly and accommodating here as well. I loved the cool story about how this hotel is haunted.

Fabulous location! Right in the middle of everything in the Quarter. The hotel staff was wonderful. Our room was spacious, we had good hot water, the beds were comfy and everyone was super sweet to our dogs.

Had a wonderful time at Andrew Jackson Hotel. The staff was very helpful about where to go and not go. The hotels location was perfect close to coffee shop, great little diner and a really cool bar, that's the oldest in the USA. A block from Bourbon St.

We enjoyed our stay at the Andrew Jackson Hotel. The building was built in 1800s so you need to know that going into it. It will not be the same experience as a modern hotel. We loved the location! Our room was fairly large, and was pretty quiet, we didnt hear many people at all, but we did hear a dog yipping next door from time to time. The walls are thin, but again, the hotel is historic. The staff were great!! Always present and had coffee each morning ready in the lobby.

I wanted my husband to have a real New Orleans experience, and they did not disappoint. I did have to work on an end table because there are no desks, so I could have stood a little more facility, but we did get one of the smaller rooms! the staff was friendly, there was free coffee, and it was conveniently located to everything we needed!

The location was great. The cleanliness was a little lacking. Even though it was old it could have been a lot cleaner. Put it this way only the minimum gets done. Now for the staff Leroy was awesome at the front desk. Would I stay there again? Only if Leroy was still working there.

We loved our little room (108). It did need a tew minor repairs (kickplate to bathroom sink was off & a patch in the ceiling hadn't been painted over). The location was perfect for exploring the French Quarter. The absolute BEST part of our stay was Leroy! He's AMAZING! Friendly, helpful, and a true delight to converse with. HE is what will definitely be the reason we stay again. The Assistant General Manager was cold & rude first thing in the morning. Upon checkout; pulled my car up into the middle of the street (in the rain) & left. I had to properly parallel park it myself.
