This is not a typical hotel with a front desk. They have a person on-site limited hours. Someone is available via phone 24/7. Great location! It is in the Lower Garden District - about 20-25 minutes walking to the French Quarter. The St Charles streetcar runs directly in front of the building. This is a very walkable area - you can walk to the French Quarter, CBD, Garden District, Magazine Street, Warehouse District etc. easily. It is on the Uptown parade route, so it is great - you can check a parade tracking app & walk out a few minutes ahead, They don't provide daily room cleaning but have a room downstairs stocked with towels and toiletries. They also have a coffee maker and refrigerator available in the same room. There is a small refrigerator in the room. My only complaint - I would have liked a coffee maker in the room. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was spacious. There are some food places close by and a Walgreens a few blocks away. I really enjoyed everything & will plan to stay here again

Beautifully renovated old home - only downside was rooms were on second floor and no elevator for luggage but Diane agreed to hold the luggage and I only took what I needed for my brief overnight stay up the stairs. She was very helpful! However listing said breakfast was provided but only coffee/tea were available.

Convenient location about 1.5 miles or less from the french quarter. Easy check in/check out. Free coffee. Only real complaint we had was the bed and pillows were really firm and not comfortable. Good location near plenty of food and is convenient to the street car and RTA buses

Comfortable sheets, strong and cold AC. Bathrooms were big with strong shower pressure. Love that we could grab coffee/tea and ice from the pantry anytime we please.

Highly recommend this property. I traveled with my 15 year old and felt completely safe. The property is gated with access to doors and gate with key that is downloaded to your phone. It has coffee and tea station. The room is super clean, bed was very comfortable, cold a/c with shutter blinds for full privacy. We did have to use the stairs and access from the beautiful private patio from outside. The pizza place next door has great pizza! The green line passes right in front of the property and the red tourist bus has a stop two blocks over. Its close to Magazine street with all the cool coffee shops. Its really close to the French Quarter, not walking close, but close enough. This property does not have dedicated parking. Yet I parked on the side of a street nearby and never had any problems. We preferred to take uber in town and not pay for expensive parking. I would stay again. Nearby restaurants we recommend: Superior Seafood and Oyster Bar, Houston's, Nola Poboys, Oceana.

Definitely close enough to the main attractions, yet far enough away for quietness. The area had some beautiful restaurants and other places to enjoy in the evenings without having to walk back into town. Unfortunately the check in process was not simple. There is a building next door, granted with a different number but has the Historic Hotel sign above it so a little confusing. Our safe did not have batteries and my father’s room did not have a safe at all. The rooms were to be fair very comfortable however internet was an issue in 1 room for the tv and I did call leaving a message without any call back. It did resolve itself after an evening. While these really are minor issues it was a good value and at the end of the day there is so much to see and do that you shouldn’t actually be in the hotel much anyway. I will give the coffee a 8 out of ten and they do have all the small comforts of ice, extra shampoo etc if you need any. If you are staying for more than a few days be prepared that the room is not cleaned every day.

Booked this hotel to stay for a friends wedding in NOLA. Location was perfect for us. No parking lot but we were able to park on St Charles Ave. for most of the weekend, had to park around the corner for one night, but no problems. We had one of the king size rooms on the 2nd floor. No elevator. Room was nice. Bathroom was a bit small but functional. Only mirror was over the sink in the bathroom so for me (getting ready for a wedding) was a negative. There is a small balcony overlooking St. Charles which is shared by guests. There is a courtyard patio to enjoy a coffee. Smoking is allowed on the patio. There are a couple of vending machines and the coffee/tea room. There are no other amenities. There is a streetcar stop on the corner right by the hotel. It is a no frills hotel but a convenient location, clean rooms, good price. We would stay again.

Oh man. The room that Historic Streetcar Inn put me in smelled like mold and I found a slug in the bathroom the last day. The only thing good about this room was the bed which was 10/10 comfy.

I really liked how private the space felt. We were able to come and go as we pleased and barely saw any staff so it felt homey. But the room was quite small with nothing but a bed desk and dresser. No seating area and a small bathroom. Considering the pricing i expected a bit more room. The vending machines dont work at all plus the options are so poorly linited you wouldnt wsnt to use them anyways. The floors though were so dirty they made my white socks black after just 10 minutes there. There was also nobody to ask about extra towels or anything like that most of the time we were there. I didnt even see another person until the day we were leaving and didnt need anything anymore. Overall its a nice property but the price isnt it for how dirty it was

Very nice staff but you’re kind of on your own with no staffed front desk, which is perfectly fine if you know this prior to your stay. Don’t expect to call down to a front desk and have your shower head fixed or tv looked at if something goes wrong. We were there for 6 days and needed to call on the 3rd day to get towels which took a few hours to get. The floor in the room hadn’t been cleaned so it made our socks black. The in-wall air conditioning unit definitely needs a new filter, we couldn’t stop sneezing. The room smelled very damp and musty. It could really use a dehumidifier. No exhaust fan in the bathroom so lots of mildew and mold on the ceiling. When we did get in touch with staff, they were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Just be prepared to fetch your own trash bags in the common area and remove your own trash to place in the garbage bins outside which seem to line the street daily.

Good value for a nice room. It was comfortable, clean and a good size. Provided coffee in the shared kitchen every morning and staff was friendly. Only suggestion, ask for a room away from the Lobby as it can be noisy.

The description of the guest house is all a bit over-egged, so if you go expecting a bit less than promised you’ll be fine. My room was on the top floor, large room but lacking any real care to the layout (i.e. lots of space but not even a chair to sit in and a broken ironing board in the corner). Also as it was at the top the snazzy locking system didn’t work properly so I was able to get a key from the receptionist. Another issue being the water pressure for the shower, not a deal breaker - just takes longer to get the shampoo out. The early check-in fee isn’t very welcoming when you arrive to a new city, travelling 9 hours on a train and clearly I had a cold but I was still quoted the $40 extra for just one extra hour. It’s in their rules but still seems harsh. The house is in a fairly good location, tram stop outside and walkable to the garden district which has more food options.

We love the location and it feels safe. The room at the front was very noisy however, hall/entrance as well as street noise and the room above. Would definitely stay again, just not in the front hall rooms.

We stayed here while In New Orleans for a weekend trip. It is an absolutely beautiful property. We loved our balcony room. It was huge and very clean and we could walk right out of our room onto the street. We loved that it was literally right in front of one of the Stops for the St Charles Street car. We used that to get around the French quarter area. Communication from the property was great as well. There is street noise but they provided a white noise machine. We will absolutely stay here again when we come to town!!

Great value for the location. Cold AC. Would prefer an in-room coffee option rather than having to go to a common area, and the bathroom had zero places to set anything like a toiletry bag.

We are so glad we chose to stay in this quaint, classic New Orleans style hotel that had loads of character. (The second half of our vacation was at a big hotel chain. Not as charming!) The hotel was not full when we stayed, but I can imagine that when full, it would be loud. The walls are thin. It was evident that this hotel was newly renovated. Very clean. Our room was SMALL. Good for one person, but we made do. If I could make a few suggestions: the bathroom could use a hook or two on the door. A second towel rack would be useful as well as a shelf above the toilet. The only place to set anything (toothbrush, makeup, etc,) was on the back of the toilet ! The shower curtain did not go all the way down to the floor, so, the shower water leaked onto the beautiful tile, making it slippery if you had not paid attention and placed a towel down. We understood that we would have our room cleaned if we took down the do not disturb sign on the door. When we returned to the room, the bed was made, the towels were taken and fresh ones were placed on the bed. The trash was still there. Nothing was wiped down. We had to ask for coffee, coffee cups ,etc. It looked 1/2 done. The hotel is in an ok neighborhood. We actually enjoyed taking the streetcar that was right out front and especially LOVED eating at Lula restaurant right across the street. My husband was able to enjoy a nice cigar on the outer balcony facing the street one evening. I believe we would stay here again.

Though the rooms were clean it did not meet safety standards. Our safe would not open the next day and our friends safe in their room did not work at all. We waited all morning to have a service person come. They did not have the security key to access the safe and after quite a bit of time they eventually were able to contact the head guy only to say that they would have to watch a video to try and figure it out. Eventually it was opened but we could not trust leaving our passport or money in the safe. The manager said they would be replacing all the safes in the rooms as this was a problem!!! She should have told us in the beginning. We missed our tour that we had arranged for that morning while waiting around for the service guys and it took up the time we were able to spend in New Orleans as we were leaving on a cruise the next morning. If it had happened the day of our cruise we would have missed our cruise. They were very hard to contact as there was only someone there from 12-8 each day. We could only leave a message on their phone with no one getting back so we had to phone several times to find out what they were going to do to help us. The manager said that we would be compensated for this but we never were …Like wiping their hands clean after we left with a smile. Not a good place to stay.

There was an issue with the keyless doors. They took care of it right away but the locksmiths they employed were pounding/drilling at 3am working on the doors and yelling from one floor to the other right outside my room. It was a tough situation for sure. I get things happen, but they obviously had no consideration for sleeping guests. Aside from that, the staff was friendly and the inn was quite lovely. My bed was soft and the shower felt great. The pizza joint next door was yummy. I was warned by a police officer that I needed to take care as there is a transient population in the area and armed muggings were common. That was worrisome.

Very nice staff but you’re kind of on your own with no staffed front desk, which is perfectly fine if you know this prior to your stay. Don’t expect to call down to a front desk and have your shower head fixed or tv looked at if something goes wrong. We were there for 6 days and needed to call on the 3rd day to get towels which took a few hours to get. The floor in the room hadn’t been cleaned so it made our socks black. The in-wall air conditioning unit definitely needs a new filter, we couldn’t stop sneezing. The room smelled very damp and musty. It could really use a dehumidifier. No exhaust fan in the bathroom so lots of mildew and mold on the ceiling. When we did get in touch with staff, they were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Just be prepared to fetch your own trash bags in the common area and remove your own trash to place in the garbage bins outside which seem to line the street daily.

There wasn’t any staff. Very strange to enter and only see hand written notes taped up. Entry was very difficult. The bathroom was awful, broken toilet seat, broken toilet paper holder and NO toilet paper. And very small toiletries. I don’t recommend and will never go back.

I've stayed here several times and would definitely recommend it. The location is central to most of the city's best neighborhoods, so it's easy to get uptown, to Magazine Street, Audubon Park, River Bend, or over to the quarter, Marigny, or Bywater. The Street Car has a stop right in front of the hotel will take you to Canal or all the way past River Bend and you can connect to other lines at both. Uber/Lyft was generally $10 or less to any of these places, as well. Rooms are cozy, there's a nice courtyard and balcony you can access and good fresh coffee each morning.

The Streetcar in was good for just a one night stay. The rate was good for NOLA. The room was a bit small and wanky but with it being old that is just part of the charm. It is a bit of distance from town so get your walking shoes on as the cable car isn't always convenient, full or on time.

First time to New Orleans and this was a nice place to stay. Right outside is the trolly that takes you to the French Quarter - less than 15 min trip and it runs 24 hours. There is street parking down the street and around the corner that is free. Due to our arrival and departure we did not see a single hotel staff but we didn’t need anything so that did not matter. It is very clean and well set up. We would stay here again.

Beautifully renovated old home - only downside was rooms were on second floor and no elevator for luggage but Diane agreed to hold the luggage and I only took what I needed for my brief overnight stay up the stairs. She was very helpful! However listing said breakfast was provided but only coffee/tea were available.

This is an older home turned into an inn. It is very nice for $200 less than anything else in NOLA. It has a window unit which does make some noise, a refrigerator which makes noise especially at night. Trolley car stops right in front, $3 Jazzy pass will take you all day. Four poster bed does block television but not terribly. Coffee, toaster and microwave available. For the price it’s good and felt very safe with restaurants close by.

We booked this hotel for 2 nights, before our cruise. It is a lovely Victorian with charm and convenience. Being on St Charles Ave, the streetcar is right in front of the hotel. And right in the middle of the French Quarter and the Garden District of New Orleans. Restaurants, cocktail lounges, and shopping, are all within walking distance as well. Our host Diane was so helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We are looking forward to another stay here, next time we get to New Orleans.

Highly recommend this property. I traveled with my 15 year old and felt completely safe. The property is gated with access to doors and gate with key that is downloaded to your phone. It has coffee and tea station. The room is super clean, bed was very comfortable, cold a/c with shutter blinds for full privacy. We did have to use the stairs and access from the beautiful private patio from outside. The pizza place next door has great pizza! The green line passes right in front of the property and the red tourist bus has a stop two blocks over. Its close to Magazine street with all the cool coffee shops. Its really close to the French Quarter, not walking close, but close enough. This property does not have dedicated parking. Yet I parked on the side of a street nearby and never had any problems. We preferred to take uber in town and not pay for expensive parking. I would stay again. Nearby restaurants we recommend: Superior Seafood and Oyster Bar, Houston's, Nola Poboys, Oceana.

Held our bags for us on our last day so we could have one last New Orleans afternoon visiting the area and the WWII Museum before heading to the airport. Room was clean, historically attractive and yet also had modern updates and amenities to include a mini-fridge. Bathroom bright and roomy. Bed, linens and pillows all contributed to a full night’s sleep. Though right on Saint Charles in the Lower Garden District, surprisingly quiet evenings with fun just a hop away on the convenient Saint Charles streetcar.
