Great location for beach access very kid friendly. Appreciated the quiet time at late night hours. Rooms are dated but beds were comfortable with white linens. Outdoor pools and pirate ship play area very nice. Indoor pool and spa not inviting dark needs refurbish.Definitely would go again mainly for my granddaughter and great grandson

We love that the hotel has both an indoor and an outdoor pool. It is also steps away from the beach. There are many excellent places to eat close by.

Great for families, tons of amenities. Easy beach access. The ice show was great. The schedule of activities gave us options especially for the rainy afternoons inside.

The ocean is right off the resort. Family friendly offering many amenities for families. Location is convenient for shopping, dining, exploring, and relatively easy commuting for attractions nearby. Lots of parking available including a large parking garage and a lot. Responsive staff when in need of something. Really enjoyed the ice cold water available at no cost in and out of the resort to hydrate their clients. Our 2nd time visiting this resort, one of our favorites when visiting OC.

The elevator was down and or didn't show up for a long time so the stairs are a must and kids running in the hallways past 1130 pm plus out dated rooms all bad indicators but good dinning and ice skating show

The exterior of this hotel has convenient amenities such as the beach access, outdoor pool, and skating rink. However, this hotel needs major updates to the rooms. The room is musty due to old carpeting and poor ventilation. The bathroom was horrible with rust all over the tub and black mold from very low ceiling. It was so bad, we checked out. The hallways are dark with very low ceilings. Interior needs major renovations.

This seems like a great place for an active family stay. There’s plenty for the kids to do like ice skating, indoor and outdoor pool, arcade, store and cafe, outside bar and fire pits. The room was a nice size and the Kitchenette was great to have. The staff were all very kind and helpful as needed. For a family who appreciates quiet and downtime, this is not the place. It does have quiet time from 11pm-8am and this is honored. During the other hours of the day the hotel is quite overstimulating. The cleanliness of facilities seemed unwell to me. Some of the surfaces in our rooms bathroom weren’t wiped and had dust. The phone was sticky and didn’t work. The carpet and couch did not seem clean. The moisure in the air made the carpet and couch feel a bit damp. Additionally the indoor hot tub and pool water looked very murky which gave it a ‘not clean’ look and the next day was closed for maintenance. The bathroom in the indoor pool was dirty and at 10am hadn’t looked like it had been cleaned from the night before. Again, all of the staff there were helpful and kind. I would have liked it much more if it appeared cleaner.

Overall this place is run down and gross. Maybe 40 years ago pride was taken in hotel presentation. Now the common areas stink of humidity and cinnamon popouri to cover up the stank. We also got a comforter that was supposed to be washed instead it had barf stains and rice smooshed in it. This place gets 1 star and needs renovated 20 years ago. Overall summary is the place is GROSS!

The first night there we had a mouse in our room at 8:00pm so we called down to the front desk for help and no one came. After 20 minutes I went down to the front desk, said "there is a mouse in my room" I was told sorry, but the staff did not seem phased by the mouse or the lack of help I received handling it. I asked for another room and was given one which I had to move all my stuff at 9pm to a different room without any help or compensation for my trouble. They should invest in pest control!

The food at the hotel restaurant was reall good and so was the entertainment. The cleanliness of the room was not great. The linen on the bed was dirty and so was the tub and shower. The city view was horrible. We were on the second floor and it felt like the people in the parking lot was right in our room. That's how close it felt. Also you could hear everything from the hallways, to next door, and from the parking lot all day long. The room was not worth the price spent and the pictures were somewhat deceiving.

It's a fairly decent place to stay in the off-season. It's definitely showing it's age, but is clean, well-run, and not exorbitantly expensive. Love the view from the oceanfront rooms, but if you're in the center of the building, with an entrance over the Atrium, it is really loud until 11pm.

Overall pretty good stay. Only bad thing was the ac wasn’t working so our first night wasn’t the greatest. Second night they gave us a portable ac unit and was a lot better. A bunch of things to do at the hotel itself Which was fun and convenient. We wish things were open a little later then 10pm such as the arcade and ice skating.

Very disappointing. Front desk staff were unhelpful, non communicative and rude, only 2towels were left for 4 of us, room was dirty dirty bed cover and dirty bathroom) when we arrived, no cleaning during our stay, although the maid did bang on the door and wake us up at 9:45 one day, building was run down. Long waits for elevators. Would not stay here again. Bad value for what we paid.

Just as a matter of common courtesy, it would have been nice to be informed that the ice hokey events would be the last night and day. I would have changed our reservations to a few days before or later as we were there to rest and reflect on our 60th. The front desk was the most helpful in giving us information about the restaurants in the area and any other questions we had. Thank you so much, Harold Bussell

We had a great girls trip even though the weather did y cooperate! The bistro staff were great. I heated up something in the microwave but it wouldn’t open so I could get it out. The guy came up quickly to try and get it open. He did but couldn’t use the microwave. He said he would bring another right up and I told him there was no rush and the next day was fine and someone brought a new one. Housekeeping was to come back to our room to clean but never did. But when we called for more lines they were brought immediately and she wa super nice. We will be back!

Check in was nuts and had to stand in line that went all the way out the front of the building, rooms were mostly clean, but had a water bottle lid UNDER my bedsheets which was super strange.always waiting in line to use the elevators. The location for this property was great with easy access to the beach. Walk out the back door and there is a 50 yard walkway and you are on the beach. There was a rinse off area so you can get the sand off when you come back. The pool and bar/restaurant between the building and beach were convenient and we ate at the outdoor restaurant twice and the food and service were good both times. We also visited the snack shop in the atrium a few times and it was reasonably priced for what it was. The amenities were great but very dated feeling. The hot tub seemed like it was original to the building in 1930 - probably not, but it seemed old. The indoor pool was large and the outdoor oool and kiddie pool were what you would expect. I think everything was clean, but it all was dingy due to age. The pool gate broke several times during our visit, we saw it being worked on but it was hit and miss most of the time if it would work. There was another gate to use so it was more of an inconvenience. The hotel lobby area had a very overwhelming air freshener scent. All the staff we encountered were nice and helpful, very quick to help when we needed more bedding late at night. There was an activity schedule but I only saw one day of activity. They brought out the limbo stuff but never set it up. I don’t know if you have to ask for those things to happen. Overall it was a good stay for our 4 day trip. The area was fairly quiet and our sliding door did a great job blocking sound from the pool.

Nice place to stay with the family. Plenty of activities for kids, an indoor and outdoor pool, and access to the beach! Even though there were only 4 elevators for 22 floors, they were fast and we rarely had to wait long. The parking lot was usually full, but the parking garage was just across the road and had plenty of open spaces. A grocery store and several food options were just across the main road. Overall, it's a decent place to stay for the price.

We were right on the beach. The breakfast buffet was great, I had a milkshake in the lobby, we got to watch figure-skaters practice at the ice rink, there was a respected "quiet time" from night to early morning, which is great because I was there with my 1 year-old. Very family friendly and plenty of activities which were listed every day on flyers around the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Hotel room was nice if a bit tired, the staff was lovely. The restaurants and bistro were sadly disappointing. Very overpriced for very subpar food. Was also disappointed how early things like the pool and game room closed. But overall, the hotel served its purpose and we had a nice stay

Me and my family stayed here, and the ocean view was amazing! The beds were so uncomfortable, and the indoor pool was closed for 2 days of our stay. My kids were pretty upset about that. They also ran out of s'more's kits because they had no chocolate. That was unfortunate, so we had to walk to the food lion across the street for our own stuff for smores. The 1800 reef restaurant was absolutely horrible. Horrible service and horrible food the French onion soup looked and tasted like it came out of a can and someone slapped a piece of unmelted cheese on top of it. Overall the hotel it’s self and the location was wonderful we loved the beach.

This was our first time staying here and we loved all the activities that they have for the kids! The one thing we wish was different was that the bistro would open earlier so we could get coffee before going down to the ocean. The bistro was also out of a lot of food every day that we went to get something this week, even though it was on their menu… one of the afternoons, we wanted a milkshake and chicken tenders. We were told that they don’t make milkshakes and that if we wanted chicken we had to go into the restaurant to order them. We also were denied soft pretzels and nachos. All of which are on their menu.

Room was mostly clean. Shower/tub could have been a little cleaner. Very old place but great location. No hot water the morning we left and nothing offered by the hotel as a parting credit. Overall, great place if you want to be on the beach and have younger kids. Definitely needs more updating as much as they charge.
