The rooms were beautiful and clean! We had the king size room, overlooking the pond in the back of the hotel. We did however have a problem with our air and for the first two nights it was a little warm to sleep in, we thought it was fixed on night two when the maintenance man worked on it for over an hour and it was working when he left but quit an hour or so later. We did call the front desk the next morning and when we arrived back in our room it was working great and continued to work for our last night there! They had movie night on the grass for families, with pillows, blankets and popcorn. There is a small pond where you can take a paddle boat out, we were there for ball games and never got back in time to enjoy this. They had lots of free activities which was great! There is a pool & hot tub, which the kids loved but it's outdoors, which was nice, as its summer, but would be better if it was indoors during winter, esp in Michigan. Bummer there is no breakfast available (for free)They may have it at the restaurant on site, but after seeing that a hamburger was $25 we walked out of the restaurant and drove back to town...lol... and never went back If you are a coffee drinker, especially a plain, black coffee drinker, be prepared to run to the gas station in the morning, they have the pods but they are flavored. Many in our group weren't too happy about that either...lol. No microwave, but amazing soft robes, a fridge and a huge tv, not to mention the amazing shower!

We stayed in the Inverness building. Everything was very nice and cozy. It has an old 1970's/1980's lodge feel. That's fine. I like nostalgia. Wonderful towels. Nice kitchenette. Lovely balcony. I liked the Murphy bed, though it is low, so if you have issues with standing from low seats, be aware. My knees are shot (currently waiting for replacements), and my back isn't great, either, but the difficulty for me was minimal. My husband found the bed too soft, so take that into account. I have no idea if that is standard in all lodges, so maybe check with the office if it could be an issue for you. My only issue is that there was a musty odor that kind of hit me in the face as soon as I entered the room. Again, other rooms and buildings may not have that issue. If you're sensitive to scents, check ahead. As for us, we acclimated and didn't smell it after we had been in the room for 30 minutes or so. Opening the balcony door helped, as well. But whenever we left and returned....ugh. I say this just to help those who might have a harder time with softish mattresses or musty odors. But it really wasn't a big deal for us. It was a pleasant stay, and we will definitely return.

Room clean but whole 2nd floor had an odd smell. Staff at front desk didn't seem very knowledgeable and had to make calls for things like upgrading or moving to a different room, late check out etc. TV in our suite was located so that you were unable to view from the pull down bed. Did not visit the restaurants on site but the small pool we had access to was nice but the corresponding swim to hot tub was not set to hot tub temperature and controls locked down so you weren't able to access. Jets were not set on jet mode and more like a whispering flow. Jet tub in room didn't work as tub didn't allow you to fill water past the jets...disappointing.
