Pool in bad condition

The facility was nice and clean and the location was great for the plans we had. We were looking forward to using the pool, but it was absolutely freezing cold. We didn't make it past our ankles. I know other families couldn't get in either. Others toughed it out, but you know it's cold when the kids won't even get in. Otherwise, it was a great stay.

Everything about this property was great the location the people that work there everything except for the fact that there are two elevators and probably 4000 rooms they’re supposed to be six elevators working or at least four, but there were only two me and my best friend had to walk down 16 flights of stairs to get to places on time.

Sat outside in traffic in my car for almost 2 hours waiting for valet service. No other parking options for the hotel. Two valet staff on shift. Past 1am when I got to go inside.

staff was super friendly, and pool was a little chilly but the room was warm so that helped, we did the game room and also bowled, and when we needed a drink or snack the Marriott had an in store and bar! I really wanted to go to the gym but didn’t get to, all around happy stay! btw the reading market is across the street! very cool, walked to to see liberty bell and fireworks at Benjamin Franklyn Park and went to constitution museum! and took a cab to the zoo! our weekend was fun! I’d Recommend to anyone that’s wanting to visit Philly- That Marriott Downtown Philly was very convenient, so much to do - the game at the Ball Park, Zoo, Museums and much more ☺️

Perfect location for our overnight stay in the city. Valet parking was simple and we used Uber to get around to restaurants to avoid having to find additional parking around the city. Room accommodations were clean and comfortable and enjoyed the lobby bar. Highly recommend

The website states they have Limited onsite Parking, but when we got there we were told they only had Valet Parking, So we had to frantically look for a place to park. I think the website should be updated to say they only have Valet parking.

Hotel was great. Lobby was active but in a positive way. Always lots of activity. Valet parking does fill up as the web site warns. But the garage across the street is a good alternative and does offer an unlimited in-out option for the duration of your stay.

Great place to stay in Center City. Very convenient to the convention center via an indoor walkway. Lobby is spacious with a lot of seating. Bar offers a variety of options. On the main floor is a market that is open from 6:30 am - 11:30 pm. Staff is available and helpful especially the housekeeping staff. Only negative is there can be a long wait for the elevators when the hotel is busy .

The hotel elevators were unbelievably egregious. Everytime I tried to go into one, they were always packed with people, and they stopped at every single stop. I've been through countless elevators -- Chicago, China, you name it -- but never have I ever been through elevators this horrendous. At one point, after 14 or so minutes of waiting, we found the elevator just wouldn't show up. 16 flights of stairs down to the base level. I wouldn't wish such an experience on the man I hate most.

The room wasn’t clean and the bathroom was dirty

There was used condoms on the floor of the room. Besides that good experience.

Biggest cockroach I ever seen in my life. I have a video of it and all they did was offer me free breakfast why in the hell would I eat breakfast at a place that had cockroaches? They told me that there’s nothing they can do about it. I will never go back to this facility ever again, my poor wife couldn’t fall asleep. Wouldn’t even use the bathroom we had no rest and had to drive home the next day. I’ve been in countless hotels, and I have never experienced one as dirty and unaccommodating as this one. Honestly, I would have rather slept in my car.

I was iffy on staying here based off of some reviews I read. But I went ahead with booking my room. I don’t regret my decision at all. I’m gonna shout out housekeeping specifically. I worked in housekeeping for the Navy for a handful of years. Very strict on cleanliness. It’s turned me into a bit of a crazy person when I stay at hotels now. My room was IMMACULATE. Crisp, clean sheets. No dust anywhere, not even on the window sills. Clean shower, clean headboards—everything. I stayed in room 1128 so whoever cleaned that room before my stay, deserves all of the love. Housekeeping is doing amazing and that’s so impressive because that building is MASSIVE. Front desk was also incredibly nice and helpful. I’ll absolutely be staying here again next time I’m in Philly. Great job team!

before Covid I was a frequent guest at various Marriotts it was my go to hotel do to excellent service and guaranteed cleanliness. The last time I stayed at the downtown (before covid) I was very impressed with location, cleanliness, and the bedding was so great that I tried to replicate it at home. This visit had me shaking my head at things like a FILTHY carpet with old gum spot, old corking in bathroom, and a REALLY unsafe area around the hotel. The positive was that every single employee I encountered, were warm, polite, helpful, and professional.

I had an absolutely terrible experience at this hotel. We checked into the hotel at 1am with our four children and when we entered the hotel, the check-in was quick, but upon entering the room, we saw a rather decent-sized stain in the middle of the floor and a dead bug on the window seal. It was late, and we didn't want to move sleepy kids to a new room that early, so we decided to just tolerate it. The next day we found rust in the shower floor, and near the soap dispenser, and five different pieces of hair in the tub area. Again, not to our standards for what we paid for the room, but we kept going. I let the hotel know what was going on, and they offered me a $30.00 credit to their store and points via Marriott Bonvoy, which is the equivalent of $50 in a Marriott stay. They couldn't offer me a refund because I booked through Expedia. We had a busy day and while I thought this was insufficient, I obliged. The kids went swimming, and the pool area had some aesthetic issues, but the kids had fun so who cares. The straw that broke the camel's back was when we went to fix our sheets and discovered a stain 'underneath' the comforter that my children slept with. At this stage, after the bugs, the stain in the carpet, the rust in the bottom of the tub, and the hair follicles, we left the hotel after 12 hours. Expedia attempted to get a refund, but when they called, the hotel attendant denied their request. They are awaiting a call back from the manager. Don't stay.

This was a nice hotel except I found a roach in the bathroom. They were very sorry and did give me some points for the inconvenience. I hate to see bugs in hotels. Makes me not want to stay in them!!

The place was clean and quiet

This hotel is situated in a great area, across from Reading Market and everything is conveniently at walking distance. I would've given overall 5 stars but our room was adjacent to the elevator shaft and literally heard the elevator going up and down. Good thing we only stayed for two nights, and when I complained about the room noise situation, the only answer that was provided to me was that I should've asked for a quieter room when I first checked in? Like really...? The elevator shaft noise is an option that you have to let the staff know that you don't want when you check in. C'mon Marriott you can do better.

The property was really nice. Great staff also. Only complaint for me would be poor water pressure in the shower.

The rooms are small and our A/C broke in the middle of the night, it's summer time. Hot !!!!

Nice hotel but in need of a refresh. Our Bonvoy account wasn’t working with the WiFi so we just hotspotted with my phone. $12 a day for WiFi access is ridiculous otherwise.

It was so noisy, we couldn’t sleep at night we heard all the elevators, people walking by our door, it wa the most horrible Marriott experience ever. And I do like Marriott just not this one.

The water pressure was terrible in the shower, the sink facet didn't run well, and wi-fi did NOT work in our room even after my hilton honors and room numbes.

Beautiful facility. Very elegant and spacious but busy and steady paced. Rooms were spacious and clean and very comfortable stay!

In my room the refrigerator doesn’t work

Don’t believe the room pictures showing a beautiful outside view. I saw the building wall and roof tops. Disappointing.

Excellent stay, very comfortable and quiet. The room was very clean and updated with a great dual shower head and some of the best water pressure I've had in a hotel. heating/ac was quiet and kept us comfy all night long without the normal loud clicking on and off you get in a lot of hotels. Our only complaint is the bathroom lighting was dim, no overhead light so it was difficult to shave and for my wife to do her makeup, etc. But that was a very minor complaint, overall great place to stay

Terrible check-in, apparantly Mariott Downtown Philly only has one rep on duty after 11pm…I had to wait 25 minutes to get serviced, which took another 10 minutes to complete…not what you want to experience after 19 hrs travelling :-( Then I was allocated a room in the head tower…not easy to find, lots of walking … room was fine though; but the free bonvoy wifi not suitable for Teams meetings… Lots of potential for improvement … after all, a Marriott Downtown hotel should be able to do better…

Huge hotel . Waited in line for 1 hour to check in . Won’t pick this hotel again . Only 3 customer service assistants? It’s convenient. Small walk to China town , reading terminal but a lot of hotels in center city is a walkable distance too.

Don’t know how the property was because our flight was canceled and we didn’t get to go. What I am upset about is that none of our money from the stay was refunded. Terrible customer service

So I had quite a few issues with charges to my account. Make sure when booking here that you stay vigilant when it comes to charges on your account. Also make sure you’re aware of the charges, as I was unaware of the charges. I had explain the situation to the front desk receptionist and she tells me no problem…. For there to only be a SPEW of problems. Other than this issue I enjoyed the hotel stay. When booking through Expedia DON’T chose the option of WiFi and Valet. Pay separately at the hotel, the hotel will give you a problem. When you try to fix the problem they will give the run around and you will have to escalate the situation.

We were in town for a festival and this hotel met all of our needs. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly as well.

Staff was rude at check in but the hotel is lovely and the breakfast buffet excellent.

Unfortunately it’s dirty and a lot people asking for money and very unsafe. Need more security around hotel. But hotel itself is great.

Your 13 Restaurant was poor. You need a better restaurant. Just contract with IHOP and replace whoever is running 13 now. Food was bad. Service was poor. Only good thing is that it’s convenient,

Our sheets were less than pristine the first night. The maid did not clean our room the following morning until after 4pm so the planned before dinner nap that I’m used to went out through the window. We went to sit in the lounge bar and no one ever came over to take a drinks or eats order in the almost two hours we sat there. They just walked by and serviced other tables. Default should be to offer service. I am loyal to the Marriott brand and a Bon Voy member, but I will not stay at this particular property again. It is a sprawling property and more suited for large group event travelers. The staff I did encounter were very nice and the reception staff member at check in was helpful and delightful . What is largely outside of the hotel’s control is the huge number of homeless and seemingly mentally afflicted people loitering near the hotel door, particularly the side entrance on 13th street. Very unsafe. Could do with a security guard , and from the city’s perspective a regular police presence in the vicinity .

The bar was used as the restaurant for New Years. We were asked to give a credit card prior to receiving our food. They said it was because people walk out on the bill. So I watched to see if others were pulling out their credit card. I said if you require for one then require for all. I suggested that they change that policy to the restaurant manager and with a smirk he said “I don’t think they will ever change that policy.” I’m ok with not going back. The food was not good, it was expensive and wasn’t cooked all the way through. They have plenty of restaurants within a short walking distance. Hotel was excellent.

First stay here at this enormous high-rise hotel perfectly located between City Hall and Reading Terminal Market. I was surprised to find that the hotel had been there for several decades. Everything was sleek and modern. The king room was spacious. Very quiet as requested on the 12th floor. Staff was friendly and obliging. My only minor gripe was that there was no full room service, which was surprising at a hotel that hosts a lot of business meetings and convention guests. You could order food and beverages from the convenience store on the ground floor, but not the restaurant. Still, I found the stay very comfortable and the price was right. I'd readily return.

This hotel is absolutely massive and functions as a well-oiled unit! All of the staff we encountered were friendly. The breakfast buffet was well worth the $25!

Great stay, room was ready early. Received free water upon check in. Room clean and fresh. Great lacation to train station, Redding Market and Jefferson Hospital. Breakfast buffet really good and staff very friendly. Our go to when visiting Philly

Blessing handled our check-in and she was wonderful! Answered our questions and signed us both up for Marriott Bonvoy! Room was spacious and clean and there was a market and lobby bar/restaurant available in the hotel for beverages, snacks and light fare. Would highly recommend not only for the service, room, etc., but also for the location!

No Starbucks, limited dining options that were above average cost for a Marriott in a major city. Unsafe because they block some of the exits in the evenings. Extremely long wait times at restaurants and poor service.

The only negative was the restaurant in the hotel. We waited for 15 minutes for service and left the restaurant
