The front desk staff were friendly and accomodating with the changes we asked for. The pool was working, but the hot tub was not. Breakfast was quickly picked over the first morning. The second morning there was a staff change and it was supplied better.

Broken, that is the description of this hotel. The business office computer, the dryer in laundry room, and the hot tub with one working jet. Very disappointed with this location. The water pressure was not good. The positives were the location and price. I would not stay again.

Stuff was very nice. But not happy that the pool and out tub was out of service, due to a broken water line and didn't say anything about it on the site before booking. Plus there was black water coming out of the sink.

The grandkids came to swim in the pool, but it had just been filled and was very cold. The desk person sent them to Wyndegate which is also owned by the same owner and let them know we were coming to swim. Service above and beyond. Room was very comfortable.

Room had some unfortunate uncleanliness. Shower had last guests hair all over, pull out bed was full of dirt and crumbs, hot water ran out, and bed was hard and smashed. The pillows were nice so that saved the day.

The location to where we needed to be was close. However the room was dirty. Floors, shower, vanity and side table were in need of cleaners attention. The garbage behind the entertainment center and the huge crack in the sink were just neglect. Having a room inspected after it is marked clean would be beneficial to getting better ratings. Sadly, the pool and hot tub were empty as well.

Writing the review to express my concerns regarding our recent stay. The hotel which was advertised as pet-free. Upon arrival, we were assigned two rooms (one for us and one for our children), both of which had a strong odor of cat urine. This was immediately noticeable, and even your front desk female attendant who came to inspect the rooms acknowledged the smell. Given that we specifically chose your hotel due to its pet-free policy—because members of our party have pet allergies—we were extremely disappointed. The presence of lingering pet odors clearly indicates that either pets were allowed in those rooms in violation of your stated policy, or that post-checkout inspections and cleanings were not conducted thoroughly. Despite the discomfort and health concerns, we stayed because it was too late and impractical to find alternative accommodations. However, we believe a refund is warranted due to the misleading advertising, health risk, and compromised quality of stay.

The gal that checked us in was very friendly. One of my coworkers that checked in with me, her lights in the bathroom were not working, but maintenance got that fixed within 10 minutes. My room had a nasal breath right strip stuck to the bathroom floor and the trash was left in under the sink, other than that the room was clean and comfy.

We booked the room to use the pool while driving from one park to another. The pool felt like an ice bath! Needless to say we didn’t use it. We were told that there was something wrong with it. The manager let us know that it met health code standards. Unfortunately for my kid they could not use the pool due to it be too cold. Also, the overall cleanliness of the hallways was poor. There was a used Q-tip on the floor. The front desk person was very nice checking in. Overall not worth the price.

This hotel needs a refurbishment. Old and it doesn’t smell good. My room smells like dog urine. The one receptionist they had left a message with a phone number to call for service. I think JW Marriott would be ashamed to have his name associated with it! Very noisy because a hall AC unit was making a god awful howling grinding noise. The room is very small and cramped. Not good value for money spent. Should not be on your list Helena MT! Verrrry dis appointed. My rental charge should refunded. Just awful.

Toothpaste spit on the mirror, dried urine on the toilet rim, soap and stuff on the shower walls, carpet not vacuumed, old milk carton left in the fridge with a shelf that had fallen. Went back to the front desk and the man. He was friendly and got us into another room. It was slightly better. The toilet was clean. Shower was dirty, fridge was dirty, carpet was not vacuumed and there was some kind of black specks on the bed spread, coffee spilledon the night stand. With the rooms this dirty there was no way we were trying the breakfast. I will not stay there again and do not recommend this place.

Pretty disappointed. Read many reviews before making the reservation. 8.6 rating. Well our room # 211 was not clean. Very dusty, mirrors not cleaned, room not vacuumed. Bathroom hair everywhere, shower curtain stained with big marks and was hung so high water went everywhere. The lavatory bathroom ceiling was speckled with yellow dots (pretty sure mold) toilet not cleaned completely pink inside. Beds good and enjoyed breakfast. The front desk staff was wonderful. Cleaning staff needs a manager to check work before allowing rooms to be checked into.

We arrived early and Chris was very helpful in accommodating us. The room was the most spacious we have stayed in and rhis was our favorite hotel on this 12 day trip. Clean and the hotel waa quiet. The full breakfast was very good. The location was convenient to the Capitol and Last Chance Gulch area. It's a city hotel. No landscaping or grounds so not attractive outside property and no place to walk a dog...and I think pets are not allowed anyway.

Traveled as a family with 3 young kids. Our 2 nights stay was ok not perfect because it needs some improvement. It's expensive for the price per night. But we expect more as it is under Marriott The hotel is clean but the insulation not really good. We stayed at the 3rd floor close to the ice machine it's noisy because you can really hear if someone getting some ice and the noise of the slamming doors and people talking.The hotel needs to update their aircon because it's a bit Loud. Inside the room there’s only a really small chiller or cooler thats is only on for 2 hours and it will shutdown by itself. NO freezer. You cannot put much inside or even big stuff. The breakfast nothing special it's the same for 2 days we ate there. They have make your own waffles,scrambed eggs, sausage, and bagels but no muffins and no on the go fruits. Pool is good because it's until 11pm but it's kinda tight in there because there's only small space. No shower to rinse before heading to the pool. It's dark during the night time. No washroom inside the pool area. The water is a bit cold.

I had a medical situation and was unable to spend. I contacted the hotel. They would not cancel my reservation or let me change my reservation to another night. Then they billed me out $30 more that my reservation was for.

Staff was courteous and helpful. Problems with exterior door lock pads at property and answer was "they dont work". Not a 5 star property but well worth the money compared to the better rated properties in Helena and their prices.

The staff was verry accommodating, when i asked for a quiet room he moved us to the third floor away from the elevators and ice machine.and also was able to find us a room with no neighbors. My wife is celiac and she was ablw to have a great gluten free breakfast.

We checked in at 5. Right away told the pool and hot tub out of order. Would we be getting a discount? Abruptly told NO because we reserved through a 3rd party. This is not the first time this has happened. So we are not going to use Expedia anymore as the hotels use it as their excuse for anything. They had plenty of time to email us to inform about the lack of facilities. And the outrageous cost!!! $290 for one night. Helena is a two horse cowboy town, not New York City. The 5 or 6 larger chains who had reasonable rates around $150/night have gotten together and are now charging $250-350 per night using inflation and the pandemic as their excuse. Add on another $25-50 to have refundable. And the basic rooms have not changed… 2 queen beds and a tv. Well in the bathroom they have rolled up the bathtub safety pad and tied a ribbon around it. Whoopie! Maybe they are serving caviar for breakfast Helena is the only quite isolated midway point from Canada to Salt Lake City. There are a few very low budget hotels here but they are really terrible. Solution….there are alternate routes from Canada to Las Vegas and we are tired of being held hostage by these greedy Helena hotels. And PS no cookies as advertised. All gone when we checked in although only 2 cars in parking lot. Attendant say he/she was just about cook some more. Never saw anymore.

From the GM at the front—Evie—to the BA staff handling the pool and breakfast—Dan—they were all welcoming, friendly, and helpful! The room was clean, the food was great, and we would definitely recommend it to others!

The grandkids came to swim in the pool, but it had just been filled and was very cold. The desk person sent them to Wyndegate which is also owned by the same owner and let them know we were coming to swim. Service above and beyond. Room was very comfortable.

Overall, i would rate this at 4 stars. The staff were very welcoming and responded to requests. The property is easy to access. The room we had was clean and comfortable.There were a few things that didnt work, most notably the key pass on an outside access door and the door to our room would sometimes just spring the dead bolt when we were walking through it. breakfast wasnt ready and for the price we paid, I really expected the hot breakfast. This was a very busy weekend with 2 sports tournaments in town. The staff worked hard to keep up, although they seemed a bit short staffed and that may have been whhy there was no hot breakfast. I would recommend this hotel.

We arrived early and Chris was very helpful in accommodating us. The room was the most spacious we have stayed in and rhis was our favorite hotel on this 12 day trip. Clean and the hotel waa quiet. The full breakfast was very good. The location was convenient to the Capitol and Last Chance Gulch area. It's a city hotel. No landscaping or grounds so not attractive outside property and no place to walk a dog...and I think pets are not allowed anyway.

Stayed for a couple days Labour Day weekend. Price was good, hotel was clean, comfortable room, staff we encountered were friendly, and the breakfast was very good. We would have liked to be closer to the downtown area but with our vehicle loaded with kayaks, overall it did feel safer parking here overnight. Lots to see and do in the area, will return and stay longer.

The service for breakfast was good. Breakfast WASN'T. Jacuzzi didnt work. Tiling in Jacuzzi was slit enough to injure. Horrible Experience. Thank you.

Very Clean when arrived. Check-in person (Hannah) was very proficient and friendly. Breakfast on day 1 was not ready at 6:40 when I arrived and took until almost 7 before the night Manager and another employee from the front desk helped the young man who was not getting the job done (eggs and sausage but no plates, utensils or napkins, waffle maker not turned on, no bakery items available, etc). The room was not serviced by housekeeping when I was there. The towels I left in the bathtub were still there in the evening, the bed was not made and the trash not emptied. Breakfast on Day two was excellent. I asked the lady who put it together by 5:45! when she worked (only two days a week) and I told her I would only stay at the Fairmount on days when she was going to be there. Very nice hotel, but I overheard someone say they thought the Manager had quit. I don't know if that was the case, but the management of the hotel that was otherwise very clean was poor.

I rarely write reviews but this time I must. The front desk people were unusually friendly and helpful, eager to find ways to give something extra, always with a smile. When we wanted to bring our grandchildren in to use the pool, they apologized for it being closed for annual maintenance and immediately set us up with their sister property a couple of miles away so we could take them there. The included breakfast was well thought out, with some special touches. Four egg options (two types of omelets, plus scrambled and hard boiled). Oatmeal with 10 available toppings--who does these things? All in all we were unusually well taken care of.

First, upon arrival it was clear that our room had not been cleaned. We had to go down to the front desk and move rooms since they could not confirm that it had in fact been cleaned and agreed that the disheveled appearance of the room and the hair on the bathroom floor would indicate that it hadn't. Next, there were multiple box elder bugs that we killed during our stay. While I know these are harmless, they are still gross especially when you have a second floor room. There were holes in our curtains so the light from the parking lot shone right through. Lastly, we were there for a soccer trip and purposefully booked a hotel with a pool so that the teammates could swim together after the team dinner. At no time while booking online were we notified that the pool was broken and out of use. Had we been told that prior to booking, we would have booked somewhere else. Overall, just a poor experience, especially for a Marriott. Not what you expect when you book a Marriott!
