1970 Quality at 2024 Prices The place has a very outdated feel from the enclosed pool area with very limited seating and the outdoor hottub to the cold halls. Card key systems not well maintained resulting in batteries dying with guest items behind locked doors. Only some rooms have microwaves. Great location for both access to downtown as well as ski resort. Not a great value.

We really enjoyed our stay. Took advantage of the bike loaners and rode around Whitefish a bit. The hotel is well situated to take advantage of the town. We went into Glacier NP mostly during our stay, so we didn't get back in time to enjoy the restaurants in town. The hotel restaurant is very nice with a pleasant view of the golf course. We enjoyed the hottub as well!

Lots of amenities. The pool & hot tub were great (esp the hot tub which is larger than normal). Staff was helpful and friendly. Cons - the laundry closes at 9pm so don't expect to do laundry at night. The rooms were older. I booked a room with golf course view but only view I had was of bicycles chained outside my window looking out into front parking lot.

Wonderful indoor lobby with comfortable sofas by the fire place with easy access to long outdoor covered patio with fire pits lit every afternoon with abr service. Indoor and outdoor pools. Decent gym on the other side of lobby restrooms. Golf course right outside. Short drive to downtown White Fish.

We loved the lodge and would definitely stay here again. The hot tub (nice and spacious) and sauna were just what we needed after hiking all day.

Ive stayed at Grouse Mountain Lodge multiple times over the years, its one of my first picks for our trips to Whitefish and Kalispel because they have an amazing complementary shuttle that will take you where you need to go we use it mostly for downtown whitefish for a night on the town but I think they will go to kalispel too for the shopping. I also LOVE the outdoor hot tub. You can get drinks in plastic cups at the bar and walk around the area, there is a nice fire pit to sit outside and drink. The rooms are always clean, rustic style and comfortable. Kalispel is a very short 12

Older but nice and cozy property with a free shuttle to downtown Whitefish. Walking to town (20 minutes) was very pleasant and felt safe even in the dark. Enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and all the fires they have going inside and on the covered porch.

The Grouse Mountain Lodge was a great experience and even the addition of a $12 "amenity" fee was okay.... Heck, I hardly noticed next to the other $300 balance on the receipt. Love the place but why the big add ons? 🙄

The lodge is beautiful and great restaurant to eat at. The bedding was not very clean, we found some small flies, hair, and stains on the sheets. They were very nice and switched our room. The new room still had hair in the sheets. Overall the stay was still good.

The room was ok. It was dirty with dust balls in the corners, bathroom and hair. The hallways are dark and dated with stained carpets. The place could use a facelift.

This review could not come any faster. We checked out today and literally went to wash all our clothes worn in the room and luggage used. Our AC in our first room, room 259, was leaking and left the carpet around the wall AC saturated. The room stunk like mold and mildew and we reluctantly spent 1 night in there before needing to change rooms. There was dust all over ALL the furniture and the furniture was sticky in that room. Then we were moved across the hall, to a room that was a little better, but had broken shutters, dirty lamp shades, and lots of hair in the shower that was not ours. Believe all the reviews about the noise, you can hear literally everything. I thought my husband had sneezed in the room but nope, it was the person in the room next door. Need to set an alarm for the morning, don't bother because when the people above you and next door wake up/set alarm, you'll hear it clearly. Granted the move across the hall gave us a better view, it was still dirty, poorly maintained, & extremely noisy due to having someone above us. What went well, the staff was really nice. They somewhat listened to the complaints regarding the old room but didn't seem shocked at all. The lobby is really nice and welcoming, huge fireplace, fire pits and really nice outside area. They have a shuttle to and from town, bikes to use and a really nice park next to the resort.

Room and bed was comfortable. Hallway smelled moldy. Shower is poorly designed with nothing preventing water from spraying outside the shower and bathroom door. Wood door was warped from getting wet. Very expensive for what you get.

Beds were not clean at all. Lots of mold.

Our air conditioner didn’t work, but reception quickly put us in a different room. It didn’t have the course view, but the air conditioning was nice!

This is a wonderful place with a very welcoming and friendly staff! We have stayed there several times in the past few years and always greatly enjoy our time there. The rooms are dated but spacious, clean and comfortable. They are quite pet friendly and our dog loves getting to stay there with us!

The room was very dated - perhaps not updated since the seventies. It's got a western atmosphere. The room does offer a little coffee maker and a refrigerator.

The lobby of the lodge and back patio outside are amazing and the location is walkable to Whitefish. The staff was also really wonderful. The room was large enough and clean but could probably use some updates since it was a bit warm and the shower was clogged (which I have no doubt if we had asked they would have fixed, but we were only there one night). Unfortunately only 3 stars because the walls are paper thin. We were unlucky and had a room of 4 girls 10 and under next to us doing gymnastics in the hall, screaming, and jumping on the bed until 10:30pm or so. Our beds literally shook constantly while they were jumping around. We had to ask them to be quiet after multiple hours of this (which to their credit they did quickly quiet down - they’re only kids of course) but honestly it made for a rough experience being in the room. All sounds felt like they were coming from inside the room anytime we were there. Because of this, I would not recommend to others, though if you have kids and don’t mind the noise so much- this might be perfect for you!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful! The property was so pretty . The beds were very comfortable but the walls were thin and we could hear the family above us walking around and it would wake us up

The main reason it's not 5 stars is the lack of convenient outlets; very difficult to find someplace to charge our phones. Also, no microwave and no bedside table on one side.

After a day of hiking their outdoor hot tub was just what we needed and bathrobes were provided for the walk down from room. Staff was very helpful everywhere we went.

Gorgeous property. Definitely dog friendly, she got a welcome package! The only reason it is a 4 star review and not 5 is that when I got there just after 3 (check in time), the front desk clerk informed me the room wasn’t ready and before I said anything he stated “technically we have until 4.” His attitude kind of stuck with me, and when 4 came and went I went back to the desk to ask if the room was ready (after watching many many people come and get their rooms no problem) and he said “oh I was about to text you.” The bar/restaurant had not been open and I had my pup with me and we had driven a long way that day…no way she was going to want to leave! So we were stuck trying to quietly play on the patio (which was too hot) and then in the lobby (which I felt weird doing since other people were also waiting there for their rooms). It isn’t the wait I mind, just the way it was handled really.

Front desk staff was excellent, very friendly. Husband had an odd encounter with a gal in the bar, possibly hostess? They had closed already and the front desk had him go to the bar to ask her for ketchup (I forgot to ask at McDonald’s for my daughter, we didn’t get in until after 9:15 checked in and then ran to grab quick easy food as my daughter had a soccer game early the next day), the lady in the bar/restaurant area was very rude to him and said “the bar is closed!!” He explained he was just looking for ketchup packets and she responded “the kitchens closed, can’t help you.” Just didn’t seem very hospitable, a friendly sorry I can’t help you we’ve closed for the evening, or a hey let me see if I can find something real quick would have been nice. Otherwise the rest of our stay was very pleasant.

We had a great experience here. The property was nicer than we expected. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They let us check in early and upgraded our room. We loved the free bike rental. The only con was when we were relaxing on the patio the hotel staff was on break and yelling/story telling and playing videos/music. Besides that it was a very quiet and peaceful hotel. I would recommend

I had to leave immediately upon arrival due to my son having difficulty breathing and head to the nearest emergency room in Cranbook BC, CAN. I informed front desk staff, of my medical dilemma, asked for a refund, and was told that i would have to take it up with 3rd party booking company. and i was only going to be charged 1 night of the 2 nights. i was there less than 2 hrs total and had to pay for 2 nights because according to 3rd party booking company, the manager on duty at the hotel would not issue any refund.nor has the 3rd party company issued the refund. that is complete insanity to charge me for not staying there!!!

Disappointing stay. At no point did we feel welcomed, appreciated or special; for $300 per night, guests should expect some level of enhanced service, but not here. Starting with check-in, we were told three times that we were "an hour early" (check-in is 4pm, we thought it was 3pm, so, ok, our bad...but their curt response, multiple times, was excessive). Having some time to kill, we decided to get a drink at the bar...only to find the bar was closed; how is the bar at a historic, resort property closed in the middle of the afternoon? Later, when we were able to get into our room, we found a used band-aid on the bathroom floor. We went into town for dinner...upon our return we were looking forward to a night-cap on their patio; we asked a server if that area was in her section, she asked us if "we had a reservation?" No, we just wanted a drink. She then simply told us to "check at the host stand." So, we went to the host stand...after a few minutes someone came to us and said, "Do you have a reservation?" Uh, no, we just wanted to get drinks for the patio. We were directed to get drinks at the bar (now open) and take them outside. There was only one bartender to serve the whole restaurant and lounge, so it took quite a while to get our drinks. No "Hello, welcome!" or "How are you?" "First time here?" Nothing. No welcome of any kind. Uncaring service where we felt we were inconveniencing the staff...a thoroughly disappointing experience...and waste of money.

We checked the website and it said check-in was at 4 so we made dinner reservations for 5. We arrived a little before 4, they told us our room was “close” and no need to move the dinner reservation so we sat by the desk and waited. We didn’t get to check in until 5 and that was only because I kept going back up to check if it was ready - they didn’t even let us know. Missing our dinner reservation and scrambling to find a new place made it so we had to change our after dinner plans and it affected the whole evening’s plans. I know there’s a lot beyond the control of the staff but they weren’t even apologetic and I got the impression this is standard for them.

The staff was great. Granted it was the shoulder season and not crowded, but we got the van to take us somewhere every day.

I've stayed at several Whitefish properties in past 10 years and Grouse Mtn Lodge is now one of my favorites. Very clean with a great Montana vibe. Staff was very accommodating. Restaurant was great with live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. Close to skiing at Whitefish Mountain and very close to Whitefish Lake if you were here in the summertime. Property is right on the golf course too, and was full of cross-country skiers getting some exercise.

Welcoming staff and outside patio is relaxing. It’s adjacent to Whitefish Lake Golf Course and Restaurant and is close to downtown

This is a nice property for the money. The location is excellent. The rooms are clean but need updating. The restaurant/bar/fireplace areas (both indoor and outdoor) are lovely.

I like this hotel very much. Beautiful location.

There are quite a few shops, restaurants and other businesses that are nearby; however, downtown Whitefish seems to be a little sparse in the area of available parking spaces. The area outside Grouse Mountain Lodge is definitely on the quiet side, with the exception of the local train that goes by periodically. Kind of reminded me of home as I have a train within 100 yards of my home.

We are doing a cross country road trip and this lodge is super nice! It is pet friendly and has a lot of wildlife around the property! About 30/40 minute drive from Glacier National Park

I liked the location The breakfast was served buffet style in a lovely dining room, but cost $20.00 per person. The waffles were cold and the eggs were like the kind you would get at a Hampton Inn or Best Western. Plain buffett not enough assortment to cost this much.

Restaurant service was not great.

The staff were top notch!!! The food every night was delicious!!

A good easy stay. Dinner at the restaurant was the highlight.

I had a great stay at Grouse. The staff is so friendly they let us borrow bear spray instead of paying for it. I had the best meal at Logan’s and have been thinking of the huckleberry crème brûlée for days.

We loved this lodge. Huge fireplaces, awesome lobby, nice gift shop, beautiful grounds, impressive seating/lounging areas inside and out. Located on edge of beautiful golf course. Great views of mountains and located very conveniently to Glacier National Park. Large lakes nearby with many activities but the National Park is the Crown Jewel! Excellent food for dinner, breakfast buffet disappointing for the price. Room was large, beds very comfortable, appreciated accessible shower. Would definitely stay here on return to area.

Really liked this property! Super nice and clean. Easy parking. The restaurant was really good. Close to everything around Whitefish.

Good restaurant, beautiful building with good spots to sit by the fireplace or by the fire pit on the patio. The train can be heard a few times during the evening/early night. They provide earplugs in case you want them. Was a great stop on our way to Glacier the next morning. About 35 minutes away.

We were allowed to bring our puppy along and she was welcome in all the common areas with us. The food was alright but overpriced for the quality and the service wasn’t very good unfortunately:(

Great property with 5 min drive into downtown. The only star i removed was the breakfast was not worth the amount they charge. I would still return though.
