Wingate by Wyndham Fletcher at Asheville Airport

Things I loved: very comfortable bed and pillows. Check in was super fast and smooth. Staff was friendly. Things I didn’t love: PARKING number one! I circled the building 5 times before deciding to park in the surgery center lot next door, along with many other frustrated hotel guests. Room was a little dirty. First thing I noticed when I walked in the room was some strands of hair on the comforter. There were old food stains on the floor. A collection of dust along the walls. Just gross. OK for one night as a necessity but will definitely choose somewhere else next time

Hotel advertises airport shuttle, but they share a small shuttle with two other hotels. So when we checked in the shuttle was fully booked and we had to arrange an Uber. This isn't a big city, so getting an Uber was iffy. The Uber driver told us this happens all the time. So Wyndam get your act together or take the "free Shuttle" off your advertising.

Had a late flight so chose based on proximity to airport. When I arrived at 11 PM there were no parking spots. Front desk was somewhat condescending when I asked about other parking options and said they were “booked”. I replied that I did have a reservation and what are my options for parking. He said none. Fortunately after circling the building a couple of times a couple of spots opened up from people who were returning from flights and had parked at the hotel. Otherwise everything was great.

This property is literally across the street from the AVL terminal. You could leave your car there for $10 but I opted for the covered garage at the airport. My room was clean and perfectly cared for. The guy (student) at the front desk was professional and quick checking me in. (It helps to pre-check-in online.) Though my room (125) was on the first floor and looked out at the indoor pool, it was very quiet after 10pm when the pool closed. The only thing I didn't like was that so many people left their cars there, it was very hard to find a parking spot. I drove around the building twice before landing a spot.

The pool is always clean, inviting and area surrounding the pool is clean & inviting. Comfortable chairs, perfect water temps.

Hotel was clean and bed comfortable. Pick-up shuttle at the airport was on time, but the schedule had limited times available in the morning to return to the airport and I had to go earlier than I wanted.

Very good experience. The pool floor though is very slippery, who ever thought that was a good idea is beyond me. The floor around any pool should be as rough as the bottom of the pool.

Hot tub didn’t work, indoor pool was cold.

ROACHES! Bugs all over the bathroom and by the bed. I kept no food in the room. I couldn’t get out of there quick enough. NEVER AGAIN!!

READ RHIS BEFORE BOOKING. I woke up at 2:00 am itching and when I turned the light on I had bits all over my body. When I pulled the sheet back exposing the mattress I found bed bugs, which until this point I had never seen. I caught one in a napkin and checked online and sure enough that’s what it was. I dressed and went to the front desk and upon showing it to the cheek and all my bites, I was told there was nothing she could do til the manager got there the next morning. I asked for another room and was told there wasn’t any ( I later found out that wasn’t true.). I asked for cleaning supplies and was told they were locked up and she didn’t have the key. I remember the hotel had a guest laundry so I decided to wash all my clothes but the door marked laundry which was open, turned out to be the hotel service laundry but there were cleaning supplies, so I took bug spray and cleaner. The clerk then yelled at me to get out of there. I showed her what I found and that I would return them when I cleaned the room. She then told me she was calling the police . Which she did and a half hour later after I had cleaned the room the police showed up and I was forced to leave. It was just above freezing at 3:30 am and I was on a motorcycle. After trying four hotels all booked since it’s leaf season I gave up and rode an hour away to another hotel. I was called by the manger the next day apologizing since the whole thing was on video and the clerk never told her what was happening.

Desk clerk was fine but not friendly. Our room was clean, but there was a large red stain on the carpet, the lampshade had holes, and the desk chair was so torn up we couldn't sit on it. Breakfast was adequate, decent variety and well tended. There are many hotel options near the Asheville airport. I would not recommend this one.

This would be a one star if not for the check in person. Room was musty, desk chairs leather was peeling, rust on the metal lamp, stains on the ceiling

There was some kind of drawing on the walls and head board. The curtains and bed skirt were filthy. There were several ants crawling on the air conditioner below the window. Thank goodness the sheets were clean. The chair fabric was all torn up. Coffee was good.

It needs a heavy duty carpet cleaning, updated finishings, and improved general maintenance in the rooms.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! My Room Smelled Horrible from the moment that I opened the door - went back to the desk to ask for another room because I could not stand the fowl smell, and the desk clerk said there was nothing she could do that she could not change the room (she didn't know how to change it in the system). Offered me a spray bottle with a deodorizer in it. The Bathroom was Filthy - hair and dirt everywhere. The carpet and furniture were stained and sticky. The Bed had black hairs in it and sheets were dirty. Had to be at the Airport at 4 am or I would have left - set up in a chair all night!!!! Have Never Stayed in a Place that was Dirtier!!!

Chose this property because the reviews were good and it was a reasonable price point. Pictures must have been old because this place was DIRTY. Do not believe the pictures. The carpet was so filthy that you could see the tracks in it. There was moisture damage in the ceiling of the bathroom and no fan. The room had not been wiped down and the tub still had hair stuck on the wall. The bottoms of the doors to multiple room had bubbles from water damage. If we had not checked in so late I would asked for a refund and went somewhere else.

Overall a decent hotel that is what you would expect for the money. However the cleaning staff needs to do a better job and be more attentive with the bathroom as my family found several pubic hairs and other hairs throughout the bathroom primarily stuck to the back of the bathroom door.

Room was filthy! Just disgusting. Told the desk on the way out and got "sorry, I'll tel housekeeping"

Pillows need to be more firm the ac kept cutting off n on so constantly waking up

Check in was quick and easy. The rooms, hotel, elevator are dated. There was a strange smell in our room. There were stains on the carpet and the tv had limited channels and half were in another language. We tried to get a shuttle but they couldn’t fit all of us in one trip and didn’t have the times available that we needed.

Good place for the price, and very convenient to the airport. Common areas could use a little more cleaning.

The first room I was assigned was nice, but the hot water did not work. They put me in a second room that was shabbier, but the hot water worked. The first room had a sitting chair, but not the second room. I used the work out room. The weights started at 10 pounds.

Old and musky. The lights from the pool area kept me up even with the blackout curtains. Loud noise from something kept happening every 30 minutes.

If you are looking for a hotel that is walking distance from the airport and aren’t super picky then this could be a good choice. It’s about a 10 minute easy walk from the terminal. The common areas (like most Wingate) is tired and not especially well maintained. The first two rooms I was assigned had non working a/c, but the staff was good about taking care of me and the third room was pretty nice.

The room and bathroom were clean, but a tad antiquated. Good mattresses and a/c unit.

Great location next to airport. A little far to walk late at night when the shuttle stops at midnight. Only complaint is the HVAC system is super loud in the room, and it cycles on and off. Otherwise nice room and breakfast is plentiful.

They were very accommodating. The driver even took us to a local restaurant for dinner and then picked us up when were finished.

First and most disturbing was the desk clerk who checked us in gave us a room that was already occupied. At 11:45 pm we attempted to get in the room and we woke the folks up in the room which made us all very uncomfortable. 2nd one of the outside doors on the front side of the building was not secured at any point durning our stay. other than those two incidents your hotel was good and clean. Staff that we interacted with were very nice.

Nobody was at the front desk for over 10 minutes upon arrival. The first room assigned somebody had just smoked cigarettes inside the room. Switched rooms and went outside to return to the two front desk agents talking a man calling white people snobs and Gringos.

Property was well Maintained and very close to the airport. Staff was efficient and friendly.

The key cards would not work. I had to go back to get it reset twice; the desk clerk was very annoyed with me and implied it was my fault the key wasn't working i.e. "Did you try both cards? Did you put the card in the right way? What color did the door display? Did you have the card near your phone?" After the second trip to the front desk, we were given a different room, the key card worked the first time. I won't stay here again despite the convenient location.

Checked in, went to our room, the key cards didn’t work. Went to the front desk where it took 20 minutes to get new key cards. The manager on duty wasn’t even on the property grounds. Had a line about 10 people deep, just one desk clerk, and he was struggling to get things done. Really a poor first impression.

I was told at check in that I couldn’t get a shuttle until 4:45am. My flight was at 5:20am. I ordered a cab which cost me$35 I found out that morning that the shuttle was available at 4:30. The female at the desk on checking was not friendly or helpful. She was dressed very casual and seemed more interested in her cell phone than on helping us. Based on this experience I would not stay here again or would recommend this hotel

Everything was excellent, the rooms are clean and spacious, the staff was excellent.

I have stayed here a few times and it’s always perfect. Love the shuttle to the airport and the staff are always helpful and pleasant.

Needed a quick place to stay for an early morning flight. This location was very close to the airport. I will definitely book again

The building is laid out well with easy access to parking lot. Excellent central location at airport with quick link to interstate highway and nearby amenities.

I wanted a hotel near the airport and this place was right across the street. I expected to hear planes taking off byt my room was nice and quiet. Everything was clean and comfortable and they had a shuttle over to the airport in the morning. I'd stay here again.

There needs to be a definite sidewalk to walk to the airport. The first part is grass or street.

Great location across from the airport

This was a nice property for a single night since I was flying out early the next morning. I was able to drop off the rental car and walk to the hotel. Just be aware that it can be a little tricky and does not have a sidewalk on parts of the journey. I was traveling light with only a backpack, so I would not recommend walking if you have luggage. They do have a shuttle, although I walked back to the airport the next morning. That said, it’s only .2 miles And takes about eight minutes. The property itself is very nice, clean, cold, air conditioning during a heat spell.

Airport shuttle is convenient, hotel is clean and updated, and breakfast spread is nice. Overall, great value for the money.

Breakfast is listed to begin at 4:30 am. We went to breakfast at 5:30 but there were no lights on or food. Se Break other guests scrambled as we did to grab a muffin or yogurt. The coffee was made. It was an inconvenience and disappointment. There was no free breakfast.

Overall a good experience. Slept well and the breakfast was good 😊

It is closed to the airport but very quiet, probably because it is a small airport. Breakfast is alright

It was a good value for the money spent. The hotel and my room were clean. Breakfast was good, and the hotel was conveniently located.

Staff was very helpful and airport shuttle was great. Building is in need of updating/repairs. Complimentary breakfast was lacking standard items.

We were quickly checked in by a very nice and helpful desk clerk. Our room was nice and clean and on the first floor which we requested. The breakfast had eggs, bacon biscuits, gravy and waffles along with fruit, yogurts and cereals. It was very tasty. The building is right across the street from the airport. It is close to many different restaurants. We will stay here again.

Great location for the airport. The breakfast was very nice. The bathroom floor could have been cleaner. The lobby a/c wasn’t working. Over all good value and close to restaurants also.
