Stayed there this past the weekend. Visiting family in the area for the first time. Can’t say enough about the staff. Amazing service! Courteous, attentive, ridiculously friendly, just an over the top team in general. The only blemish of our stay was an overnight spree of car break-ins in which we fell victims to. 8 total car broken into Sunday morning. Just wish the hotel could do more to prevent/detract these things from happening. Provide a bit more assurance to paying customers in terms safety, and their well being while being guests at their establishment. I understand crime happens everywhere, but hotel chains like these should take minor steps to deter/prevent things like this from happening. Maybe increasing security a bit. It’s frustrating. Hard to get a good nights sleep after something like this. Specially when you are traveling with your most precious asset, your family, and your 10 year old is now scared to stay at such a place. Once again I can’t say enough about the staff, and the hotel in general, just hope steps are taken to prevent things like this from happening in the future.

The hotel is under MAJOR renovations to the pint of the room numbers taped above the doors, naked light bulbs in the hallways, open paint buckets left by the ice machines, and more. I’m surprised any of that is acceptable under construction codes.

Clean and new. Friendly and helpful staff. Grandkids enjoyed the pool. Only downside was not enough seating at the pool. I had to stand the whole hour kids were in. Other than that. All was great!

Made sure to get room with mini fridge but it wasn’t working. Made sure breakfast was included but the pancake maker wasn’t working. Made sure on site pool for kids but limited open hours ruled that out.

Front desk staff was great. Made friends with us and the kids and were happy to see each other all weekend. Breakfast was good. Room was clean. Pool was warm. Everyone we interacted with was very helpful and friendly.

Nothing good about the property. Remodeling, so everything was dirty, coin opperated laundry, but no quarters, breakfast was very limited and not well maintained. If able I would give 0 stars.

I'll start by saying the staff was wonderful. Attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Breakfast was great and the lobby was very nice. We can all agree that cleanliness - especially in the bathroom and bed - is pretty much non-negotiable. So, when I discovered a wet, wadded up washcloth - with hair on it - in the soap dish, I immediately went and checked the sheets on the bed to make sure they were clean as well, and, in fact they were. I'm sure it was an innocent mistake and likely caused by a brief distraction that threw off the cleaning person, but quite a bit different than forgetting to restock the coffee in the nook or refill the Kleenex box.

Not good. First, the hotel is undergoing repairs/renovation so it’s a mess with construction/ painting / surplus items littered all over the hallways. Our room was missing a shower curtain, there were ants everywhere, and the bathroom ceiling was covered with black mold !

This location did not post that they were renovating on their site. They should considering the extent of work being done there. I would have stayed somewhere else for the price I paid in that area. The lobby was almost a blank canvas and whoever is completing the work does not clean up well when they are done working for the day. This should have been done more strategically…by floor or by section/wing/hall. Maybe they should have just shut the hotel down for a few weeks to do the full project. Our room had water on the floor near the entrance from the fridge, plus paint and smudges in the restroom and shower. Hopefully they were not done renovating the room because it still needed some touch up and clean up. We also had no shower gel. Besides do what seemed to be a new bed, this property was a little bit of a disappointment.

We stayed in Gastonia because we were there to go to McAddenville for the lights - we were close enough (10 min) yet far away enough not to have to deal with the traffic - we stayed here because of the free breakfast, we figured we would spend more than $15 on breakfast anyway - the food was good - the hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly - would most definitely stay here again

No hot water for the showers at night nor in the morning. Lukewarm at best. No TV remote in room. One we got from the front desk would not turn off the television. In a room right by the elevator so awakened by the noise from that all night long. Evening shift front desk, Sandy, extremely rude. Came across that I was bothering her when asking questions. Will never stay here again.

Hotel is under renovation so parts of it look a reck. Carpets ripped up, sheet rock dust, ladders, and buckets everywhere. Our room was completely remodeled except for the tub. The room was very modern, very clean, but the tub was awful. It needs to be replaced, perhaps it’s already on their agenda to do. But the hotel staff is excellent! The breakfast was really, really good with omelettes, bacon and sausage. Impressive for a hotel breakfast. I would definitely recommend the hotel after the renovations are finished.

Unsafe place having a motel 6 next to it drug dealing. Other than that, I have a son with autism and sometimes he has his moments, so there was one night that he spilled his drink on the bed and I went to the lobby to get some sheets. The thing is that this staff member gave me a hard time making up excuses on not fulfilling my request and he got to a point he said “if I want to” also said that “if I needed the sheets I could look for them earlier since I was coming in and out the whole day from the hotel” obviously his comment was rude. As far as I know I could go in and out as many times I want without being questioned, plus I clearly said to him that the situation with the sheets was an unpredictable accident with my autistic son. At the end what it seems is that this employee is not considerate with people with disabilities. At the end of this unnecessary back and forth this employee did got the sheets that I needed for my son.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The last time, they were remodeling, so their breakfast options were super limited. But this time we got the full service! It was amazing!! The lady at the desk, super nice and really helpful, had our reservations pulled up before I could get my booking confirmation number pulled up myself! The staff is absolutely the best!! I had to go out to the car around midnight to retrieve my book, and the gentleman behind the desk offered me a wake up call and asked if there was anything we needed! When we ate breakfast (which was soooo good!) , we talked with some lovely employees, cleaning ladies included, who were super nice! Then, checking out, they were amazing! I handed my keys to a gent behind the desk and we bantered back and forth about the party we were in town for, and we left there laughing and in great spirits! We will absolutely stay here again!

Probably one of the best choices for the area because the pickings are slim! Location is Convenient from highway and a fine overnight stay with comfortable beds. We did grab breakfast on the way out the next morning and there was eggs, sausage, biscuit and gravy and yogurt plus the usual continental breakfast options. It’s not a destination, but okay if passing through. Indoor pool was reported by kids as being good.

We needed a place to sleep for the night and this one had great reviews. The hotel is still being renovated. There are many new aspects such as shower lining, paint, and carpet but they are still working on tiling. our bathroom tile had cracks which took away from the aesthetic. The mattress was extremely comfortable but we could hear some light highway noise. The room seemed clean. There was some air freshener smell that was masking some other smell. The staff was friendly and nice. I think it will be really nice once the renovation is complete.

Hotel overall was not clean, first room assignment smelled terrible and thankfully we were able to get a different one. The girl at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. Went to grab a bite to eat and felt unsafe, area around the hotel has several homeless that approached my husband in the parking lot and gas station. Not a good area of Gastonia at all

Nothing good about the property. Remodeling, so everything was dirty, coin opperated laundry, but no quarters, breakfast was very limited and not well maintained. If able I would give 0 stars.

Hotel is under renovation so parts of it look a reck. Carpets ripped up, sheet rock dust, ladders, and buckets everywhere. Our room was completely remodeled except for the tub. The room was very modern, very clean, but the tub was awful. It needs to be replaced, perhaps it’s already on their agenda to do. But the hotel staff is excellent! The breakfast was really, really good with omelettes, bacon and sausage. Impressive for a hotel breakfast. I would definitely recommend the hotel after the renovations are finished.

Breakfast was a little disappointing. There was a large team house at the hotel and breakfast was wiped out by the time we got there. It was about 20 minutes before closing and food was not replenished. The facilities were great besides that.

The lobby of the hotel seems smaller than other Holiday Inn Express' I have been to previously, and some of the furniture was visibly dingy/dirty, but it was fairly nice. Breakfast selection was good: bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes, plus the normal continental options like yogurt, cereal, muffins, juice, coffee, etc. Our room was missing a lampshade but was very clean and comfortable, which is what really matters! There was a small section of the wall in the bathroom that has water damage, so it didn't look clean, but that's all it was. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! Upon arrival the hotel was having technical issues but got us checked in on paper with no problems or delays. The area surrounding the hotel seems a little rough, but the hotel itself was fine. If we came back to the area, we would stay here again.

I really enjoyed my short stay here. The staff was always cleaning and that made my little OCD heart smile. The front desk ladies were very nice and helpful. My family also enjoyed the hot breakfast.

The room was clean but the room did have an unpleasant smell when I walked in but after a while it went away. The staff was very pleasant and constantly asked was I enjoying my stay. The only issue was my last night there it was so noisy throughout the night. Sounded like someone was hitting iron. It was so loud it woke me out of my sleep several times during the night. Our room was near the elevator so I assume that was causing all the noise. I was disappointed with the front desk clerk because I told her how that noise kept me up half the night and I had to get up early that morning to drive 4.5 hours to go home. Her suggestion was to ask not to be put by the elevator on my next visit. She could've offered a discount then or on my next visit. I will remember that the next time I'm looking for a hotel in the Charlotte area. Overall, the room was clean and the staff very friendly.
