When I arrived for check-in the customer service representative was polite friendly and informative. However upon entering my room I noticed there was a lot of noise going on what sounded like next door to my room so I called the front desk and asked was there any construction going on next door to my room because it was awfully noisy. She then told me that there was construction being done on the third floor. I was on the first floor and the noise sounded like it was next door to my room. She assured me they would be finished by 5pm and they were but we're back at it again in the morning. If they were on the third floor and I was on the first floor and it was that noisy, I'd hate to hear what it was like on the second floor. Shower floor was in poor repair. Cracked and sinking.

I love the fact that you have a really clean and working stove and full refrigerator, also roomy closet with an ironing board and iron. However, the two nightstand lamps did not work and there was no hand soap. The elevator was out of order which I understand is out of the facilities control, but very clean and in great location.

I gave a 2 star because the desk associate decide to not tell us the elevators were broken until we swiped our card. I asked for a handicap assemble room because of my mom. She could not accommodate us by putting us on the first floor either. If someone ask for a handicap room, best practices is to make sure you do not fill all those rooms when you know your elevators are broke.

Very clean location, friendly staff at front desk even free laundry if you’re looking for free breakfast, there’s plenty of restaurants around here. They don’t have it but it’s OK. and their pet friendly too. Thanks to Michael. He made us stay very relaxing and peaceful he to be recommended for his professionalism.

The staff was always pleasant. Literally from the front desk representative to the maintenance guy. The property outside looks to be well kept as well. The parking lot is small but it maintained parking for our visit so no complaints there. The hotel seemed pretty clean throughout until we stepped in the room. There was a funny odor. The bathroom curtain had a brown smear on it and was very tattered and worn. Definitely has had its use. There was quite a bit of hair in the tub and on the towel and rags. My son was really grossed out. I personally take my own towels and rags everywhere I go so I didn’t use theirs. The room I had was with 2 queen beds and my bed felt like someone walked through the parking lot and jumped into the bed. There was so much dirt in there. No way the sheets had been cleaned. I couldn’t even sleep the first night bc of the dirty feeling. The second night I was so tired I passed out. I booked this hotel thinking I had booked the Clarion hotel next door with the pool. There is no pool here and no breakfast. I was so disappointed that I hadn’t looked back over those things before booking. 0/10 do not recommend.

The front desk person when we checked in was extraordinary. She went above and beyond. Everything was very clean. We were only there overnight; the room was spacious and had everything you may need for a longer stay. Would absolutely stay again and recommend.

5 stars for the Candlewood Suites in New Bern. Staff was super friendly, the hotel and rooms were very clean, and it has to be one of the best smelling hotels in which I have stayed. Highly recommended, and I will return next year.

This is a wonderful place to stay! Love the fact that the floors aren’t carpeted. It makes it feel so much cleaner and more updated. Comfortable beds and large tv. Only issue we had at all was when getting into bed my husband turned over his top pillow and there were 3-4 hairs on it as if it hadn’t been changed and new bedding used. Other than that it had a modern, clean, comfortable feel to it. I would definitely stay here again.

Some appliances did not work, floor was so dirty my socks were black when I walked on the floor. Too expensive for such poor care. Door cards wouldn’t work, we couldn’t get help with the situation. We couldn’t leave the room together. Was not able to get a cup of coffee in the morning, had to drive just for a cup of coffee. No food options on site or in room, no tea, coffee, water, fruit or even a cookie. I would not recommend this hotel.

Well, drove three hours for business and super tired. Turned covers down and noticed tiny (what I thought was dirt or something) until one of the tiny pieces started moving. Yep, infestation of bed bugs. Called front desk and was relocated to the room across the hall. After double bagging all my clothes up, taking ANOTHER shower and checking the room that was still too close for comfort, I finally got to sleep a little. My morning and subsequent business suffered. On my way home now and have to wash everything I have in my bag in hot water and throw away my suitcase. I feel like I want to throw it all away as not to infest my home. An apology would’ve been nice but not front desk staff’s fault. Avoid room 203 or check carefully before you get comfortable!

Everything was good except for the water pressure in the shower. There was a woman in the room next door who started yelling about something at 7:30 in the morning who woke us up. The room was great though. Would propably stay here again.

Loved this area for the variety of shopping and restaurants around this. I had an event downtown so this was close enough and very affordable. My suite was big and roomy but there was some odor like someone cooked Indian food there and the odor stayed. I bought some air freshener to keep it at bay. Also in the evening loud cars and trucks can be heard going past but it stops around 11:00 pm so it didn't bother my sleep. I would stay here again but probably on the back side instead of the front (it might be quieter).

The air conditioning did not work properly. I set it for one temperature. I work up during the night it was 4 degrees lower. Management did receive my complaint and compensated me.

For starters,the staff is extremely friendly, and the lobby was beautiful decorated the lady at the front desk told me everything I needed to know about my room and then the room itself exceed my expectations and i will definitely be staying here again, thank you so much

I was extremely disappointed. Every other time I have come to this candlewood, the service has been excellent. I have booked here several times because of it. This time was horrible. The man at the front desk had a major attitude problem. He charged me for things that I was never charged for before. I booked a king suite. He gave me a queen studio and when I called up I was told there was nothing he could do. He started making up all kinds of rules that don't exist. He told me you can't book suites through Expedia. I've booked suites for that specific property through Expedia on five other occasions. Just so disappointed. Won't be back.

The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful; from the front desk to the housekeeping staff. At check-in, Preston was very helpful and attentive. Throughout my 5-day stay, Michael was very professional and exceptionally helpful and accommodating. The hotel was being painted on the outside and the wind blew some of the paint mist onto my uncles truck and Micheal was able to settle it with the manager without incident. We even shared several laughs together about my room key (inside joke). I really enjoyed my stay and I will be back real soon. My only regret is that I didn’t get to say goodbye to Michael before checking out because he wasn’t there that day. Nonetheless, keep smiling and being your best, happy, hospitable self Michael. Until next time! Stacy ❤️

Check in was a breeze, Ashley was very pleasant and friendly. After a small computer issue i was in my room. Really good location about a 1 mile off the highway with plenty of things to do near by. The room was nice, comfortable and inviting. Had a small kitchen i wish i would have taken advantage of. The bed gave me the best nights sleep in over a week, If your staying for more than one night ask for extra coffee. The shower was hot and the room was dark when it needed to be, i was facing the road and didn't hear the traffic as it went past. Thus was a good stay

Stay was just ok. No breakfast offered. Beds were not very comfortable. We visit New Bern a lot. Will definitely find another place to stay next time.

It is a suit so rooms are large with a full kitchen, very modern. Parking is easy and well lit, the staff were polite and friendly. If I had a complaint, it would be no breakfast except coffee and tasteless little muffins. Now I am not a fan of big breakfast in motels but come on guys, for what you charge per bird you can do better than this?

Rooms are nice and clean...only stayed 4 one night...only had Danish and muffins for breakfast...needs 2 add some type of cereal and milk & juice

Some appliances did not work, floor was so dirty my socks were black when I walked on the floor. Too expensive for such poor care. Door cards wouldn’t work, we couldn’t get help with the situation. We couldn’t leave the room together. Was not able to get a cup of coffee in the morning, had to drive just for a cup of coffee. No food options on site or in room, no tea, coffee, water, fruit or even a cookie. I would not recommend this hotel.

Very clean location, friendly staff at front desk even free laundry if you’re looking for free breakfast, there’s plenty of restaurants around here. They don’t have it but it’s OK. and their pet friendly too. Thanks to Michael. He made us stay very relaxing and peaceful he to be recommended for his professionalism.

We stayed for 1 night. Room was nice had a mini kitchen in it to cook if you wanted. We arrived a little early and was able to check in, staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our stay

Mines and my spouse experience was a nice pleasant the place was neat and clean and the staff was kind and friendly and it was so convenient for us we didn't have to travel out to far to eat out cause Sonic Applebee's and IHOP were all in a straight line shot to choose from

Let's begin with $250/night. Nothing in the living area worked. TV, lamp, even the phone was not working. Reported, no one came to check it out. We were there for 2 nights. No breakfast, and to get ice you get a bag at the desk, and use the ice machine in the food mart area by the desk. We were on the 4th floor. No maid service available, you have to use the basket in your room to take the dirty linen down to the desk to get clean linen. I didn't know I was a part of their housekeeping staff. The final straw for me was the last morning I get up, and there was a roach on my cup. I lost it, that was too much for what we were paying per night.
