Sheraton Raleigh Hotel

We choose high end hotels when staying downtown in bigger cities primary for the convenience of valet parking. I was very surprised and disappointed such a hotel did not offer valet parking. Instead, I had to find a parking garage and carry my luggage to the hotel which was a total hassle. I attempted to order room service which was advertised but was told by the front desk the restaurant was separate from the hotel and I had to contact the restaurant directly to place the order. The front desk could not transfer me to the restaurant and did not know the number in which I could call. I finally walked downstairs and went to the restaurant instead. It was my only option. The manager of the restaurant was very nice, felt bad and gave me my breakfast for free. For that I was very appreciative. Two of the nicest waitress made up for everything. Their names were Noelle and Fifi. Awesome friendly ladies. Toilet was a nightmare to flush. Had to hold the handle down for over 20 seconds to make a flush. With all of that said, it’s back to center city Marriott we go.

This appears to be a grand hotel in the early stages of decline. Facilities were clean and comfortable. All the staff was warm and friendly. But....two of the hotels three elevators were out of order causing long waits...we used service elevators to get to our room. In the room, we struggled a bit to use the TV and the coffee maker. The power cord for the TV was unplugged...not from the wall, but from the TV. The power strip for the coffee maker was unplugged and turned ott. We would stay again, but these issues leave you scratching your head.

Staff was friendly, overall appearance nice. Our room wa. exasperating! Toilet ran constantly unless we took back 0f and adjusted. Thermostat would stop working and even when reset, would not lower temp below 77. No bookjlet in room to give info and could not get thru to front desk by phone so had to keep running down with questions. to top things off Sherdan had cancelled contract with parking garage, so it cost $22 per nite. Bet your glad you asked.

Elevators were having issues so it took a rather long time getting up and down floors. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was okay. The staff was amazing.

Pool was closed but listed in description. All the staff were amazing and genuine. Hotel was somewhat dated but clean.

Our stay was great and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. There is unfortunately no on-site parking and because of that, the price should come down a little. $22 a day to park.

The information about parking was incorrect (said $15/day with in and out privileges, but it was actually $24/day with no in and out privileges). The check in process was very quick, but the person didn't tell me anything (like where our room was, where to park, didn't ask if I had any questions). The hotel itself was convenient for walking downtown and was otherwise fine (felt a little run down).

I booked this room for connivence to the convention center. I also book this hotel for a pool, which is false advertised on the website. They no longer have a pool at this location; I had children who were looking forward to using a pool. Also, I was told parking cost were $17.00 per day it was $24.00 per day. This made for hardships as we travel on tight budgets. As far as the hotel is concerned the staff was friendly, rooms were clean but without the pool there was no real value to stay at this location.

This property only had 1 main elevator working but they allowed you to use the service elevators which took hundreds of people through the kitchen area, which was very unsanitary. Our tub was holding water while showering and there was what appeared to be nose mucus on the wall by the bed lamp.

Staff was friendly and room was comfortable, but TV didn't work. Washcloth was left on nightstand. Elevators were slow and escalator was out of order.

Rooms are dirty. Very old hotel rooms. The water pressure is awful. Felt dirty the entire stay

Room was nicely designed, but not thoroughly cleaned. Mattress was ok, but pillows were horrible. AC couldn’t keep up with heat and humidity.

Everything seemed nice till we woke up with a roach in our room

Nasty bathroom floor. Pubic hair everywhere. Besides that…..all was great.

Stayed in a room near the hospitality closet and stairwell, there were large laundry bins surrounding our room doorway. The tv was an old tv with a few channels that didn’t work. Surfaces weren’t wiped. Bed and pillows were too soft, woke up a million times with low back and neck pain. Asked front desk for additional pillows. He said he would send some, they never came. Shower body wash bottle was empty. Checking in and checking out was a long wait at the front desk.

Bathroom had mold on the ceiling, around the bathtub and on the walls. Hotel was noisy at night. Staff was not that friendly

For the cost of the room total being over $400 there should have not been anything wrong. The first room had bed bugs and when switched we did not have any linen. We were given a later check out because I wanted my actual money back. I was too tired to argue but I will not be going back!

The room needed to be remodeled. The floor tiles were stained and dirty. The shower has cracked tiles and appeared unclean. The spare blanket in the closet was disgusting. For the amount of money I was very disappointed.

Perfect rooms and clean!

Our sink was clogged and toilet wouldn’t flush without holding the lever for a minute. It wasn’t very soundproof because we heard everyone outside our room. Restaurant and staff were great.

Check in was easy and friendly. Staff was all extremely helpful. It was very convenient to where our event was at the convention center Our room was extremely humid and warm- to the point where the windows were dripping condensation and causing a puddle on the floor. Body wash dispenser was broken and floor tiles were broken. Just kind of beat up for the price.

My fifth year staying at the Sheraton and it keeps getting better. Yes, it may be an older builing that has "older building problems" but it still stands strong. Paid garage parking, hourly and daily rates do apply. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. Jamal is one of the best there is. The rooms may not have mini fridges or microwaves to heat up your Jimmy V's leftovers, but I understand food so good is rarely in a takeout box. The beds are like sleeping on a cloud, There is ample outlets and plug-ins for all your chargers. Shower pressure is devine, for me it is perfect. The Shearton is a great place that has history around it and is close to everyday activities.

Beds were old. Pillows were of poor quality. For the cost of this hotel , I was expecting more. I would not stay again

The room was a little dated, the TV seemed dated and small. No bathroom towel bars, towels were on the table in the room, not the bathroom. The toilet was dated and so low to the ground. the A/C or heat controls didnt seem to work well, room was hot and stuffy and didn't really cool down during our 2 day stay. We weren't in the room much, so that was good. temp was 75 in room even though AC was set on 70, temp never went below 74. Hotel breakfast was great, and the staff was nice. The location was great, and we walked everywhere we needed to go.

The room temperature never got below 76°. Elevators were old and took a long time. Room was clean but the bathroom was small and outdated. Employees were very nice though.

Check in was easy and we were able to check in early. The bathrooms need a deep clean. It was extremely hot in our room when we arrived (80 degrees), someone came and worked on it but it was still hot all night even though the thermostat said 65. The property is pretty and you have easy access to downtown.

Very kept up property. My view was amazing. The restaurant in the hotel was amazing. The lady who helped me check in, Joy, was even more amazing. Great stay!

Overall a good stay and amenities. Great location and decent amenities. The parking fee was incorrect on hotels.com however. Plumbing was old school but kept up it seems. Had a decent view from my room and fairly quiet.

Very friendly and professional staff! Clean comfortable room. Great location, very short walk to events at Martin Marietta Center.

The maintenance was amazingly great. I cannot get a hold of front desk to save my life. I keep getting a bot

The staff at this hotel are absolutely amazing. Went for 3 nights 4 days and loved every minute of staying here. The ladies at the front desk (Ms Joy, Ms Celeste, and Ms Nicole) absolutely helpful from navigating the area to any little needs. There was a gentleman but I didn’t catch his name who was just as helpful. All the way to Ms. Fifi and Ms Shelly in the dining hall with the cooks. Definitely recommending this hotel and will be staying here again for future conferences.

The staff was awesome and so very kind. The easy parking was amazing and the helpfulness of staff was the best I've every experienced at any hotel. I would definitely encourage family and friends to stay here when visiting the area. The beds were so comfortable after a long nine hour drive.

I had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton in Raleigh. The front desk host, Celeste, was pleasant, sweet, and incredibly accommodating. She ensured that we got our room quickly and without any issues. We were also provided with several key cards, which was very convenient. I visit Raleigh every year for the Caribbean Festival, and my stays at the Sheraton have always been great. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free experience.

The room was very comfortable. Jimmy Vs is right in the hotel. For breakfast there is a little cafe in the lobby or you can have a full breakfast at Jimmy Vs. The hotel is within walking distance of the Performing Arts Center.

Nice hotel, room, services and location was great. Less than 5 min walk to The Red Hat Amphitheater which was our destination. Breakfast was delicious. Would stay again if needed

No hot water for 3 days. Restaurant was chaotic and understaffed. Everything else was great.

The staff was great. They were professional and helpful. While dining on the property, it was difficult to get service and the food was average.

Ms Faye who runs the Cafe is the very best. She has personality, knows the best places to go to and is just great! She makes the place.

Wonderful hotel with a great restaurant

Best way to say it is literally lipstick on a pig. You can’t put fake wood floor in a room (badly I might add), throw in a new headboard and faucet on the sink and expect it to be updated! Lots of improvements needed. You can tell many years ago this was probably a really great property. Had dinner two nights at the Johnny V’s. One was just ok, the second was awful. Pizza was undercooked with a soggy crust…everything slid right off each piece! Just no attention to doing it right! Overall the property just felt sticky. All the floors had this waxy sticky feel from the restaurant to the lobby to the room. The parking here is unexplained! I parked in one of the garages across the street as told, but told by 3 people 3 different stories of the fact that I was in the right or wrong garage and directions of where to park and how to pay for it just not clear at all. Bathroom was AWFUL. Dirty, cobwebs with spiders, hairs all over including the stack of towels. Plus the room had no fridge which I miss having. Oh! …and the room door had been painted so many times and the humidity made my door stick every single time I opened it from the inside or outside. Just not a good experience and will choose a different property the next time I have to visit for business.
