Cool refurbished building with large, airy, comfortable room. Excellent bar/restaurant on first floor of building, great burger and beers place right across the street. There are other nice restaurants within a block, great coffee shop a few doors down. Parking was off site in a public garage a block away (seemed safe and cost $9 for the night). Near a nice riverside park for walking or biking. The price is a great value compared to the usual chain hotels. The street by the hotel is fairly busy/noisy. The area around the hotel has a fair amount of unhoused individuals, but did not feel unsafe.

I like the hotel, but they left me embarassed with this room. Black organic matter came out of the jets of the infinity tub upon filling. Starting the jets was horrific black matter everywhere. Nice room but gross. I only got the room for the tub feature. Its honestly over half of the room sq footage. I told the staff in the morning nicely. They just told me my bill for room with be emailed. This does not set well with me.

Hotel Donaldson exceeded my expectations in every way. The room was immaculate. They thought of every little detail down to earplugs, chocolates by the bedside at night and drawing the shades for us. The room was even better than the pictures show. And the LoDo was an excellent venue for the event I was hosting.

The hotel was unique and staff friendly. Our room nicely appointed. I had a difficult time sleeping because of the street noise however.. motorcycle racing until the middle of night. Couldn’t regulate air in room. Hotel entrance and elevators dirty. All in all a nice property.

Absolutely LOVED our stay at the HODO! Such a great location and amazing property. Anyone can stay at a chain hotel…this place is special. The rooms are adorned with local artists / artwork and the accommodations are great. It says it’s a three star hotel…but our stay at the HODO surpasses many four and five star hotels we’ve stayed at in the past. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area too. And the BED!! So so dreamy!!!! Make sure to ask about the rooms - we took a mini tour of a few rooms that were available to see. Each one is different. There is a room w beautiful displayed local artist pottery, another w a gorgeous jacuzzi tub in the middle of room with cascading water from ceiling to fill it up! The interior of each room is a combo of old world brick and gorgeous contemporary features. The custom wood built in furniture is another plus. THANK YOU for an awesome experience! We will be back next time passing through.

1. Woke up at 2 am with street noise and room too hot. AC stopped working during the night. Staff responded quickly. AC restarted by itself. 2. Room facing the street has poor sound proofing. Woke up with street noise Saturday night. 3. AC is noisy. 4. No parking. Valet parking extra. You have to park in no parking area to complete room registration up on the second floor. 5. Excellent bed. Good coffee. 6. Not good vaue for money.

I was impressed with this property. The hotel room is spacious, cozy, and tastefully decorated. I loved the bed, both firm and soft at the same time. If I ever come back to Fargo, I will definitely stay at the Donaldson.

The staff were second to none - everyone from the front desk, custodial staff and housekeeping. Extremely helpful and kind. Hotel is in a perfect location! Only downside is parking (which is no fault to their own) - but nothing you wouldn't expect in a downtown location. DON'T let that hinder your decision to stay here. The staff was extremely helpful in going over our parking options. Definitely will be a returning customer!

We loved the building with the character and charm with bricks, lofted ceilings, and modern fixtures. The family suite is spacious. There was some Friday night street noise (maybe North Dakota doesn't have a noise ordinance?) and there were loud trucks cruising the strip with pipes that seemed to echo off the buildings. We were supplied with earplugs, though, and things quieted by midnight. The staff was outstanding. The wine and cheese hour was a nice touch.

Very nice hotel in downtown Fargo. Walking distance to several restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and boutiques. Loved the wine and cheese happy hour at 5:00 and the turndown service at 9:00. Pastries and coffee for breakfast was a nice start to our day. Highly recommend!

Cool refurbished building with large, airy, comfortable room. Excellent bar/restaurant on first floor of building, great burger and beers place right across the street. There are other nice restaurants within a block, great coffee shop a few doors down. Parking was off site in a public garage a block away (seemed safe and cost $9 for the night). Near a nice riverside park for walking or biking. The price is a great value compared to the usual chain hotels. The street by the hotel is fairly busy/noisy. The area around the hotel has a fair amount of unhoused individuals, but did not feel unsafe.

Great property! Olivia was so helpful worth our stay. Beautiful room! Finally, the wine/beer/ cheese reception was a great way to meet other guests.

Modern boutique hotel in downtown Fargo making it walkable to that area. Complimentary turn down service which was very nice. We ate at the restaurant below hotel which was excellent. Would definitely stay again.

Super friendly staff and very large room. The valet parking was inexpensive and the room was huge! Nice Irish Pub in the lobby, and very walkable location.

I loved this boutique hotel!! High quality, clean, comfortable room. The furnishings and decor were wonderful and loved that fact that each room featured a local artist’s work. The bakery items in the morning were local and delicious. We checked in late and missed the wine and cheese hour and turn down service but will definitely stay again to enjoy this fabulous hotel. I also wish we had the chance to enjoy the Irish pub/restaurant downstairs.

Left a lot to be desired for the expensive price point per night. Street parking or ramp parking only. Street and bar crowd noise until after 2am through the outdated windows. The room we had also smelled as if it were smoked in for decades and was still off-gassing. We wouldn't recommend especially for $350/night.

Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. I’d stay again if it wasn’t for the street noise all night long. Street racing non stop both nights I stayed. Along with that an literally no dedicated parking make it a no return for me.

This is arguably the hotel that remade Fargo's downtown into the cute, fun downtown it has become! The space is an old hotel remade into one of the nicest spaces I've ever stayed in. Seems like each room is unique, and ours was bigger than many an apartment I had back in the day. One little thing--I wish the restaurants were open, including the rooftop bar. The Irish pub on the first floor, Blarney Stone Pub, is closed on Tuesdays (bad timing for me) and the rooftop patio seems to only be open Thurs-Saturday. Regardless, I'll be back!
