The free breakfast wasn’t really that good and there wasn’t too much and the pool was closed, but they did offer us a discount to use the community pool, which was nice

We booked 1 night here for a family trip as a stop over to our final destination. The price was right and the amenities sounded good too. After the time I could cancel my reservation, my teenage kids found some reviews online that led us to believe we had made a horrible selection. Needless to say, we were worried. At the check in desk, there was a sign that said "pool is temporarily closed". My husband looked at the pool area and whispered to me "there is nothing temporary about that". I thought we were doomed. The hotel is more like an apartment complex than a hotel with several buildings and each entry to your room from the outside rather than a central hallway. When we arrived at our room, we were pleasantly surprised. The floor was clean hardwood, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen area was nice and clean, though a little dated. Really the only complaints we had was the couch was very uncomfortable and the TV didn't offer many channels or any streaming services. Breakfast was more than serviceable with waffles, eggs, potatoes, protein, various breads, juices and coffee. All-in-all it was very a very nice stay. It certainly wasn't a 5-start hotel but that's not what we were expected. It worked well for our family and I would stay there again if we were travelling through.

Nice property with good upside potential, but in need of renovations and general up keep. Gym has broken equipment with significant paint peeling from the ceiling etc.. doors need better seals as you can see light thru them. Rooms are large and clean but in need of maintenance with painting and sheetrock repairs, doors do not close easily so it requires you to slam them shut which can be disruptive to other guests

Arrived in the evening, found no coffee pot; called the office; The front desk said they couldn't provide one, because housekeeping had gone home....What??. When I went into the bathroom, found the sink was barely holding onto the wall. All night the room above seemed to be housing a team of heel walking elephants. Took a shower in the am and the water was backing up so, I was ankle deep in water the whole time. The breakfast was disgusting. Eggs had the consistency of old oatmeal and the oatmeal was frightening. The gym was terrible. Most of the equipment is not functioning and there are no towels or cleaning materials. The cable TV controller was also probably about 10 years old, falling apart and the remote barely worked. This facility is far more dated that the pictures reveal. Unfortunately it was once a nice place, but, the current owners are just letting it go to pot.

If Wyndham could see the rooms and how neat up they are I think they would remover their name. Room smelled sour. Pool was closed - even though it looked clean. Paying extra for an amenity that is not available is stealing.

DO NOT stay here. It is dirty and run down. The pool is CLOSED indefinitely and had been for over a year and we received no communication about it in advance- which was extremely unfortunate considering we were there in a heat wave when we were there. The room wasn’t clean (pubic hair on the floor) and the tv was missing a remote. The front desk staff told us breakfast started at 6:30, but apparently it starts at 7:00 on the weekends - another bummer because we would have made other plans had we known (teenagers don’t skip meals well). OH and don’t plan on cooking anything even though there is a kitchen, there are NO cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc… We also walked out of our room and smack into some sort of domestic fight, with yelling and cussing- not fun to explain to your kids.

Pool out of order in August at the Jersey Shore. The reason I picked it was price but pool was very important. Also, breakfast poorly restocked. No eggs 2 of 3 mornings. Containers not refilled even though there was more than an hour to go.

Pool was not open for the summer yet (in July) which was one of the main reasons we wanted to stay here in the first place.

No pool and pool was advertised and a selling factor for 2 children …. Property was clean and check in easy but again NO POOL

No pool open, no king room available and charged for the upgrade eventhough it wasnt my fault.

Place was run down. The outside wasn’t too bad but the room itself was so gross. Looks like nothing was wiped down. My balcony door fell off the hinges and let me not forget the roach that was munching on a piece of chicken when I woke up!

Room was horrible, daylight comes in through the side of front door, furniture in the room was filthy, Laminate flooring was buckled up and breaking up all over the room. Kitchen appliances were scraped and dirty. I stayed one night then left due to the conditions. Photos of the rooms on websites were obviously taken 15-20 years ago.

Room was dirty and had cockroaches and other bugs. Diaper left in outside walkway to rooms for a day, room smelled bad and property was a mix of ‘hotel’ rooms and short/long term living rentals. Do not recommend staying here

Not clean and smell of smoke…refunded and chose a different hotel

The property was decent from the outside, my hotel room has a deep dip in the floor, mold all over and there were A LOT OF ROACHES!!! ROACHES were crawling in the bed, the furniture, as well as the bathroom. I would never recommend this hotel due the excessive amount of roaches! Very nasty!!!!!!

The room was dingy, and dirty - the floors, and all surfaces like the desk, coffee table, tv stand and table top were sticky! Our socks got filthy walking on the floor! There were spiders and roaches seem multiple times over 4 days. This was the second Wyndom property in NJ I would never return to solely on lack of cleanliness. Hotel front desk was vacant every time we went looking for toilet paper and soap and had to hang around waiting for someone in the back to finally hear our shouts to get anyones attention.

The place looks great online but honestly, the floor was really dirty and there was just a bad smell

Rooms were terrible, roaches in the shower.

Wasn’t that clean, everything was way too old, like from 1950s….. No plug for charger cord, just regular outlets. Tube and bathroom disgusting.

Had I gotten there earlier I surely would have skipped it and gone somewhere else because the place looked really bad and all surfaces were sticky. I couldn't even put anything down anywhere. There were ant traps roach traps visible I didn't feel comfortable even just sleeping on the bed until early in the morning and left early and showered as soon as I got home. I was actually extremely disappointed with the choice. Previously I had stayed at hampton inn in neptune NJ for a similar price and was very happy with my stay. The service was perfect the staff went out of their way to make our family comfortable. the property was clean and everything was great. I was hoping that you would take note of my disturbing experience. Thank you, Chaim Berl

The rooms were spacious but dated. Bathrooms need renovating. Everything is outdated and in need of some attention. Also, seemed like there were some longer term tenants in the room below us that were loitering around on our shared stairs. We will not return.

Clean rooms, we had the penthouse suite. Plenty of space,only down side is the utensils were missing, we only had 1 fork and spoon.

Location was good, breakfast was good, rooms were clean but in need of serious attention. We had no bathroom or kitchen lights working. Door latch was broke as well as door seals. Broken windows with cardboard on them and painters tape holding our room number on the door. No ice machines and The lawn care/landscaping was terrible. Showers only delivered scalding hot water and the ventilation system could use some serious cleaning. I don’t know if they were just short staffed with maintenance personnel or if the property is like this all the time. For 200.00 per night I expected more. Staff was nice but seemed “surprised” when we brought the condition of our room to their attention.

I stayed in 2017 and 2021 and liked it. Now it has been brought by foreign management and ac is unable to be adjusted below 67 degrees. They have it locked over wifi. Also it has a motion detector so if you leave the room it will be hot upon return. When i complain they lie and say "it was working just give it time"

Our room was ok, but the refrigerator was super noisey with the compressor running most of the night. The thermostat was off, our room said it was 74, but there was a cold breeze blowing that actually woke us up during the night. It snowed during the night and in the morning there was ice everywhere. Needless to say, we wont be staying here again.

The room was roomy, lots of space. Nice kitchen. The bed was Ok. Bathroom is meh. The property is being updated.

The suites are dated. New paint does not hide everything.....but at least it was clean.

Large room

Slow checking, two young men at desk were just transactional, no hint of hospitality. Room was mostly clean but very worn. There were several gaps in vinyl floorboards in kitchen. At least two lamps were unplugged. TV didn't work and the TV itself actually felt sticky (yuck). The neighbors upstairs were noisy both night as until at least 2 am. We found two sets of dog poop right outside our door in the morning (likely from the dog upstairs). The entire complex is dated and in dire need of refurbishing or even teardown. The Sonesta at the end of the street seemed like a 5 star hotel in comparison - well stay there next time time.

Booked because the prices in the area were ridiculous. After reading reviews I was very concerned about this place. Upon arrival it wasn’t AS bad as we feared but it’s not great. Hotel is dilapidated. We were concerned about bed bugs from other reviews but our room was bug free thank God. Bed was just okay. AC worked okay. Grounds were dirty, you could tell people were long term staying here. Heard people arguing, cops came. For a weekend stay we managed. The biggest issues we had were just the sad state of the building. Peeling paint in the bathroom, everything looked beat up. We realized the last day that our door didn’t lock!!! Anyone could just open the door from the outside. That was crazy! Definitely would not recommend this place and will not book here again, ever.

The staff went above & beyond to provide an enjoyable stay. The rooms have been updated & they upgraded us for free as a birthday gift! Very nice guy at the front desk! Came out to look for me in the parking lot when the room was ready instead of waiting for me to come back inside. Love it there!

the drawers is broken. The bathroom has a lot of hair at the back of the door when we came in. the aircon runs every 30 minutes for 10 minutes and it was hot. The front desk attendant is not patient. Rushing us to fill up the form.

Man at front desk extremely rude. Doesn't even greet customers or maybe he picks and chooses which ones he does. Second time I've been checked in by him and he is RUDE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS

Very nice service, primarily check-in, àc worked great considering it was over 100* everything was clean, definitely would stay there again!!!

Front desk took cash for the stay and charged my card later. Super upset with this hotel! We stayed there many times. Never complained. I did a reservation with my credit card and my bf paid cash for the stay to the guy, who named himself Lallu. My card was charged full price 3 days after by mistake. I contacted them, stayed on the phone with them for an hour and came to the hotel a couple of times and asked to figure out the situation. The manager nowhere to be found. I asked them about their cameras and footage. Still waiting for it. The issue is not resolved yet.

We checked our after the first night because if the conditions. They said they would refund for all but the night we stayed. We agreed, the “refunded” it to the incorrect card. Because we paid the rental with our bank card and the deposit on a credit card. Things were pending for days, no refund has showed up for the stay or the deposit. We had to contact the bank and ask them to do a fraud investigation because we were stuck out of state and all our money was tied up in their system and they couldn’t do anything about it. We were given business cards for the manager with incorrect phone number listed. On and on and on, needless to say we stayed one night paid for 9 and still have not gotten our back. They are a scam of a business.

early check in was a waste since we had to do everything there anyway. The first room wrecked of cigarette smoke so they quickly gave us a new, upgraded room. They offered us no additional sheets or blankets for the pullout sofa and they knew we had 5 people on the reservation. They told us we only had the pillow (which had no pillow case), flat sheet, and fleece blanket. They refused to give us a fitted sheet and a pillow case, the pillow case is wild to me because that’s honestly gross to not have it covered or even provide one upon request. The room was dirty anyway and had hair on the floor. The front desk person was not friendly, although it was clear she was being over worked (since she was there at 5pm and still there at 8am). No ice or water available, unless it’s morning. We also were told no to pool towels and we had to wait until the pool opened to have them. When they did our towels they took all of them and left us only 3 body towels and did not replace any of the face or hand towels. The bathroom was very small and did not lock. The water pressure was good.

Clean and amazing staff.

Property and room were clean. It seemed safe and quiet. It is a little isolated. Stores at short driving distance.

Would not recommend—more like section 8 housing than a hotel.

Everything about this place was just a little off. I did not sleep a wink because of the feeling that I was being watched. It seemed like some people lived there and when I left it appeared someone may have slept in their car. Not worth the money at all.

There was a car up on blocks in the parking lot. It looked like the security camera cords had been cut. Wouldn’t stay there again.

Unique cottage type rooms. Not like a typical Wyndham hotel. Room was clean and nice. A little dated but overall it was fine. Don’t expect a regular hotel stay. More like a motel with outside entrance direct to your room. Convenient to the parkway and area beaches. Great little kitchen in the room. would be ideal for small families on vacation.

Nice place close to beach and close to pnc concert we went too

The property was HORRIBLE. The room we were provided did not have a security lock on the door and the door jam looked as though the room had been broken into. The room reeked of paint and was full of dust. There appeared to be a number of transient individuals that lived on the property and there was trash including discarded prescription pill bottles littering the parking lot. Due to the room and property conditions as well as concerns for our safety we did not stay at the hotel.

Pros: PRICE, Breakfast (Waffle Maker), No Bed Bugs & Clean Sheets Cons: Odor in Room, Sticky Surfaces, Noisy enough to be woken up several times between 11 PM and 3 AM two nights in a row, Near constant police presence in parking lot

Just a bit run down and not close to places to eat besides Applebees. Also breakfast was sad

Cable went out for a full day and no one noticed until I called it in. No updates to me were made. Cable also had no guide menu to know channels. No body soap in room at check-in...had to ask at desk, though did give it quickly. Breakfast had no juice, water or coffee left in machine by 8:15am when I arrived - staff just shrugged when I asked for some rather than get more put out for guests. I could expect no added food when run out but no juice, water and coffee?

Cold breakfast. They should be kept in containers that keep them warm, or alternatively, have a microwave to heat them up.

Great little place. Room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was very nice and plentiful. Laundry on site. Will stay again!

For the price it was definitely worth the stay. Very spacious and nice room with many amenities and good variety for free breakfast.

The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. However the renovations aren’t the greatest. It was clean but the hotel just seems like is about to fall apart. The shower barely drained and the sliding door was incredibly hard to push open. I wouldn’t even dare stand on the balcony in fear of it falling off. The breakfast was subpar.

I've stayed at this property back when it was a Residence Inn and it was great. Easy access to the GSP and shore points. It has gone downhill immensely...we had one towel for five registered guests and when I went to get more, there were none to be had and that was 7:00 am... the best they could do was pool towels. No daily service..had to ask for additional soap and shampoo. The overall condition of the room was livable but just that...not appealing. Needs paint and a bathroom makeover. The shower was stuck in the overhead position and the tub has seen its better days.....rust and chipped porcelain. The shelving in the bathroom closet was totally detached from the wall and stacked on the shelve that was still standing. The room had a fireplace but I would be afraid to use it... As far as breakfast goes...it got up and went. I would bet money that the sausage patties were left over from the day before....Breakfast was at 7:00 am and the patties I grabbed at 7:10 were dry and brittle! I didn't bother to get anything else but coffee which was the best thing. I think that this property was a victim of the closure of Ft. Monmouth...two blocks down is a closed housing area of the fort that looks like it should be in a horror movie....they have plenty of vacancies I bet. Save your money if you can and find another place..

I liked the way the complex is laid out. They’re basically condos. Lots of food options in driving distance. Breakfast was nice, and the gym was good enough for my daily workout. Very nice staff.
