Hotel Mockingbird, Dallas, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

We enjoyed the hotel bar and lounge. However, the pool was being renovated and we were not told about this ahead of time or we would have booked somewhere else. That was the main reason we booked this hotel.

The hotel is typically where I stay. The pool is wonderful. The fitness center is good. The service at the front desk and restaurant is very good. The food is great. For the first time my room was older, being in a room at the front of the hotel I heard a lot of road noise,and initially the phone wasn’t working. Phone was fixed right away. This hotel is one of my mid range favorites! I recommend it and I will stay there again!

Loved the heated indoor pool

Convenient location—Easy access to property. Staff is wonderful. We especially love the restaurant servers—The women working the morning shift are so nice! Evelia, the server, is full of joy! Our only issue this past stay is 2 of the 3 elevators weren’t working which caused a delay. One of the elevators was quickly fixed leaving 2 of 3 in working order. I stay at the Beeman every time I go to Dallas. I’ve stayed there about 15-20 times in the last 2 years. In the past few months, they began charging for parking at the nearest lot. I wish they gave hotel guests a pass or discount. But, I will continue to stay there because it’s convenient, clean and I like the staff and I like that there is a bar and restaurant.

Great Hotel! Near the Grenada, which is what we were looking for. FYI: Valet is mandatory and is $43.00

Beautiful and great live music

The property blocks off all (30-40) parking spots around the hotel and forces you to use valet for $50/day/car. Over half of these valet spots remain unused. This is not advertised anywhere in the booking slots, and resulted in over $200 in charges for valet parking that was unnecessary. The only other option was parking half a block away for $20 each time you entered the garage. This is a money grab, after already charging you more than the room is worth. Recommend using the Highland down the street - better hotel and better parking options.

Great location at a reasonable price. Parking is not cheap: either valet or at a garage not affiliated with the hotel (per the hotel staff).

They no longer offer free parking and the pool area was under maintenance, but overall it was fine.

I have stayed at The Beeman Hotel a few times before and no complaints but this time I got a single room, although the room looks clean, it smells very sweaty

Noisy because right next to the freeway. Also, housekeeping never came the first day, and the second day left dirty glasses from day one in the room. They were there at 11am on the dot the morning we were checking out though.

Friendly, clean and well maintained

My husband and I really enjoyed how calm and relaxed it was. We did not hear anyone next door, under, or above our room. Very clean and the cleaning staff is very thorough and respectful.

Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Walls are paper thin. I could hear everything in the room next door. Our refrigerator did not work. Lobby floor was always dirty. Some of the staff were very friendly but others were not. I chose this hotel because it was close to where my daughter lives but I will try to find another hotel for my next visit.

I know it was out of the hotels control but the hotel experienced several power glitches and then a power outage for a bit and it was a hot hot day so the room got warm very quickly. Mostly I didn’t like that the hotel had mold in and around the ac unit in the room, i could hear the room next to me going to the bathroom and their conversations as well as the hallways. My room Had a view of lighting fixtures that had a rodent trap and dead insects. The window was filthy. Very disappointing as I read great reviews about the hotel. The staff however was lovely and over accommodating. They were the best thing about the hotel.

We arrived to find the property under construction. Entry closed and access via another door. Contractors autos / trucks filled the front parking area. Dirt was tracked in every where as they were re-doing all landscaping. There was no where to take a dog out and no one warned us of the remodel. We checked in and immediately the elevators stopped working. We waited 15 mins or more while the alarms buzzed and the crowd grew and finally they were restored. Other guests were asking for the stairs to be unlocked but no access was given. The room seemed dirty, no place to put luggage, no place to hang a toiletry bag, no extra linens, blanket, nothing that would make this place worth 500 per night. We were charged 100 none refundable fee for two tiny dogs and this was not mentioned on their site either. We were forced to valet park, handed a ticket with a QR code and text number for retrieval but neither worked. Saturday night we arrived back to go to bed and we self parked in an available spot our front as there was no one to check the car with. After we were asleep, the valet gave us a call, after 10 PM waking us up and stating they did not have our key. We tried to call the front desk and house keeping for additional items and no one ever answered the phone. We never got an apology or anything reduced or comped. We were placed in a room right at the elevators so it was noisy. The room was basic with nothing special. We will not stay there again.

Staff was helpful and friendly. My room was nice and clean. The location is not far out from many shops.

Decent hotel for the price but for the love of god it’s 2025 how are there not electrical plugs directly next to the bed???? Come on.

All of the employees we encountered were terrific. However the a/c in the room went from cold to warm without us changing the thermostat. Then there was no closet but a clothes bar you have bought in IKEA. The water pressure is good but it shoots out so hard it could peel your skin off. There was no place to put a suitcase on. There was one low chair and a tiny ottoman there was plenty of room for better seating and a foldable suitcase holder. There was supposed to be a restaurant called steely mill. Well it was a large room with some tables and a bar. You had to order your breakfast at the bar, then we sat down and it was brought to us. In fairness breakfast was good. WYN was about server for dinner and she was great. Once again the food was good. We were the on;y ones sitting in that large room. This is an Marriott envoy elite class hotel. The embassy suites we stayed in night before was fabulous, I would not stay here again.

Great and clean hotel and friendly staff. Only complaint is the room did not have a window and it would have been nice to know beforehand or have the option to choose.

The hotel staff was professional and the rooms were neat and clean. However, there was a problem with the Internet connection at the hotel. We tried streaming via the television in the room, and received so many era codes. After about 2 hours, we called the tech customer service and they were professional and helpful, nevertheless the problem still could not be resolved although they tried to reach the hotel. The tech issue was the hotels, and they could not be reached on a Friday evening. So we were unable to watch our holiday movies.

You used to have self parking. Am disappointed that it has gone to valet only. Also, the chrome cast didn't work on the tv. There are no plugs near the bed to charge a phone.

Queen bed was more like a full size bed. Air conditioner would not keep room cool.

What??!! No USB ports? No electrical outlets available for our devices??? I had to move the bed and pirate a power strip. When I inquired of the front desk, the answer was, “Oh no, we don’t have those.” The room was dark- not adequately lit. But the bed and bedding were absolutely wonderful and the towels were abundant and huge.

Nice hotel. Streaming service wasn’t working, and had ti live rooms one. Due to loud group in next room with very little soundproofing. They quickly accommodated and put me in a new room that was fine with no noise.

Hotel was nice. Walls are thin and we could hear the neighbor's TV late into the night. The hallway was hot and muggy but the room was cool. Parking was expensive.

Friendly staff, valet is convenient

Check in was absolutely unprofessional they had one guy at front desk. He was helping a customer order a pizza I waited 10 min finally said can you just check me in .. he did it took 2 min. But Didn’t receive proper welcome normally provided at most hotels. Front desk staff n the morning weren’t professional at all either. Otherwise property was lovely and clean bed is comfortable customer service1 star property 4 stars

The location to SMU is great, but the staff is not friendly or helpful. I felt like I was inconveniencing them upon check-in, wasn’t given the voucher for breakfast, so I had to go request it, and our privacy lock in our room did not work. Upon notifying staff, they said it was all digital and would lock on its own. That was incorrect. There was construction at the entrance, so a different (unmarked) entrance was required and it was dirty and loud. Valet was the only option, and they did not have my vehicle ready when requested. The outlets were coming out of the wall in our room, and service at breakfast was slow, though the server was friendly. Overall, I was not impressed.

Checked in and was given a room key. Once we got up stairs the room was completely trashed and not cleaned from the previous guest in the room. After getting our next room key to another room… we settled in..I got undressed to take a shower and house keeping didn’t knock and came straight in the room without permission. I screamed at them to leave. Very unfortunate and uncomfortable experience. Unless the hotel reaches out to apologize for this experience and offers some sense of solution. I do not imagine I’ll stay here again. Also to note I’ve stayed here roughly 10 times this year already.

When I checked in on Thursday morning, my room was prepaid through Hotels.com. However, I was told I needed to pay a $100 deposit, which I understood and was okay with. Friday morning wake up to my account and $314 was taken from my account for the Beeman hotel. They charge me twice after my hotel was already paid for in advance. When I spoke to the young lady at the front desk she couldn't explain why a total of $414 was deducted from my bank account. My sister stayed in the same hotel and extra money was taken from her bank account also. Be careful with adding your card to their system because it will be charged with no explanation.

Loved the property and the vibe! Our room was very comfortable. And even with the hotel being near the highway, it wasn’t noisy. We slept really well! Parking was great. Location was also a short drive to Greenville, Deep Ellum, and the Dallas Farmers Market. Front desk staff was OK - they kept chatting among themselves so it took a while to get anyone’s attention. Otherwise, this hotel is VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The Beeman has excellent partnerships with nearby businesses. This is a great hotel if visiting Mockingbird Station or SMU. Parking was easy.

Hotel was perfect for our visit to SMU. Literally across the freeway from Hotel and close to all. We had a great experience and will be back soon!

Good location, convenient

Best location if you are a parent of an SMU student. Walk to campus and also some of the local bars. Good on and off access to the highway if you want to explore what Dallas has to offer too.

Great location in heart of Dallas

Though the hotel is close to SMU, I do not feel comfortable walking to the school. Honestly, when there are signs everywhere in the parking lot to hide things in my car ( I had nothing in it). I did not feel comfortable leaving it there but I had to. No choice. When I arrived late after the game, I didn't feel comfortable walking into the hotel. Lighting was limited. As for the room it was okay. It had a fish smell that didn't leave for my stay. Not a big deal since I only slept in the room. I thought the staff were pleasant and helpful. However, like all places they were short staffed.

Wonderful stay over Thanksgiving! Front desk check-in staff was super friendly and welcoming. Beautiful lobby area and nice bar / restaurant. Rooms were very clean. Overall a five star experience that we thoroughly enjoyed!

Food was great! Mixed drinks I got were great! I would definitely visit this hotel again

I like this hotel. The meals at the bar were great and reasonably priced, the rooms clean and fairly quiet. The parking situation was confusing and I ended up paying for parking after they told me it was free. Hopefully with the new Marriott owners they won't change the excellent service and food.

We were pleasantly surprised how nice this hotel was. The food in the hotel is top notch too! Mornings lattes, no problem…walk down or order from your phone, and it’s all reasonably priced!

This is my go to stop for hotels in DFW when I travel for work? I exclusively stay here because the service is great.The meals the restaurant are delicious and the staff is always helpful plus it's walking distance to a ton of things.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. My room was clean. The main problem being that the fridge in my room was broken. And the shower door would t stay closed so water sprayed all over the floor. Also the bar and music area is right at the front door so checking in or talking to the vallet drivers was very difficult
