Extended Stay America Suites - Philadelphia - Bensalem

We had no heat in our room it was freezing cold. I bought something from the vending machine $4 Its still in the machine . There was no one to be found at the front desk to ask about it. Dirty , un kept people living in this facility. An armed security guard on premises at all times. Their idea of free breakfast was a nutrigrain bar and a cupcake. There was oatmeal packs but no bowls or spoons. I grew up in that general area and thought it would be safe to spend the night while driving through town. Don't even get me started on the contact high we got by every guest we encountered. Absolutely a disgrace!! It should be called a Trap house not a hotel. We travel several times a month and in all of the hotels We've stayed in, this was a ZERO star.

Both elevators out of service- had to walk up 2 flights to room. Front desk employee pleasant Advertised breakfast included. Other than ok coffee, just prepackaged muffins & breakfast bars. Room was clean but spartan. looks like nothing updated in entire motel in many years. 2 stars is generous.

This place smells of smoke! The elevator didn’t work and we were on the 3rd floor! No coffee in the room but they have a “grab and go” breakfast! The HVAC is loud and the lighting could use an upgrade

Very disappointed. They advertised breakfast included. It was only a take with you breakfast that consisted of prepackaged muffin, granola bar and packaged oatmeal. Coffee was decent. Kitchen was not complete. Not even a coffeemaker in the room or an ice maker in the hotel. The only redeeming quality was the bed was comfortable.

Location: great. Room: Worn down furniture, broken electrical and bathroom fixtures, itchy blankets, dirty bathroom, dirty carpet. Housekeeping: Never got any room service. Had to take towels to the office to get them washed and returned. Washer and dryer in the bldg expensive but good.

Any hotel that has a Security Guard wearing a FLACK JACKET stationed in the lobby on Saturday night is not a place I want to stay.

Elevator was broken for my entire 5 day stay, I was on the 3rd floor) whole place smelled like weed, plumbing was an issue, have to take care of your own trash, you have to go downstairs to get toilet paper, and they give you one roll, they're breakfast is nutrigrain bars and muffins. Not the worst place, but wouldn't stay again

Outside looks great but our room wasnt.... it had Dirty rug damp and stained .shower curtain rod broke. .no water pressure.. smelled like wet dog. Found a dog toy in closet. Tv was broke and we could get another one. The complimentary breakfast was a joke..no ice machine.. the bed was comfortable and it had new pillows... everynight we had to get our key rescanned... Armed security guard walking around fri and sat night.....people live there..not a regular hotel... Not much positive things to say.

Awful experience. Outlets sparked. Hairdryer was melted plastic & exposed wire. Hair all over bathroom. Kitchen sink was filthy, rusted, and the metal was so corroded it was yellow. Noisy neighbors until 3am. Not 'night in a hotel noisy', just running around, yelling, slamming furniture, for hours. So bad it shook the room and bed. I stayed there with friends in multiple rooms for an event nearby. They removed my friends belongings during their stay & tried to book their room to someone else during their stay. They had to fight to get their room back (since hotels were full nearby) and fight to get their money back. Smoke detector battery was beeping so they REMOVED THE SMOKE DETECTOR as a solution. Didnt replace the battery, since thats why it was beeping. Even though you couldnt use any outlets because they literally sparked when you plugged something in (phone charger, not even a large appliance) Clear fire hazards throughout. The local fire marshall needs to inspect this hotel asap, before it burns down. Lobby smelled of cigarettes. Some staff were helpful and apolgetic or their coworkers incompetence. The elevators didnt work either. Had some creepy male visitors making inappropriate comments to us. i know that isnt a fault of the hotel itself. But the overall service and quality did not give me confidence that their security guard (who we saw once) would be helpful. Stay far away. Not worth the price decrease. Hotel is directly across from a casino, for reference.

Not clean, Dirty beds.

Don’t stay in this place smells horrible. Our bathroom was disgustingly dirty a lot of hair in the toilet and the hair dryer didn’t work. There is other places way better to stay !! Also the free breakfast is a LIE they only have coffee and granola bars Staff service was great at the Lobby but That’s all Again Don’t stay there !!!

Even though it was a bit older, I liked the hard wood floors and the cleanliness!

The room smelled, I had to buy a deodorizer for the room. Broken drawers and cabinet doors, had to wipe down the refrigerator. Doors were hard to open and close.

I arrived to find bulletproof glass at the front desk. This didn’t get me a great sense of security I live local so I know the area. Entered the room and went to the bathroom molding was coming off the wall. My wife was unable to take a bath, as there was no stopper in the drain. When trying to take a shower, it was hard to set the water to come out hot. One of the drawers in the dresser in the living area the face was falling off. The kitchen was clean dated but functional. With two people staying at the hotel, you’d expect to have two chairs at the table, but there was only one. The TV sat on a dresser that was about 4 inches lower than the top of the bed so it’s unable to watch TV while laying in bed. The mattress was uncomfortable was very lumpy. Not conducive for a good night sleepI called the front desk to find out what time the breakfast was? I was told it was grabbing go from 6 to 9 AM. I came down at 6 AM to find there was no body at the front desk. It was dark and there was no breakfast. We’re almost $100 a night you expect a little more. At best, this location was not worth $40 for a night. I will not patronize them again. I hope all the extended stays aren’t like this.

As soon as we walked in to the lobby, a odor of marijuana hit us. Thank goodness our room didn't smell like that or I would of complained. It was a non smoking hotel but you can tell people smoke weed in their rooms. Bad odor.

Honestly a little bit dirty (fridge dirty/rusty on outside so eyesore, other things like that) and noisy at times. There was a smoke smell throughout parts of hotel/where my room was and could use some work.

No shampoo and no conditioner. My room was very dirty and sticky and the towels were full of hair. My toilet was not clean and there’s water stains everywhere. I took a shower and I came out itchy.

The hotel was dirty and falling apart. We were missing a cabinet, the floor was dirty and the room smelled like weed. The photos online did not accurately reflect the actual condition.

For the most part everything was fine only problem was the room was non smoking but still smelled like cigarettes took forever to air out smell never really went away

Excellent value however the bed was a little old and uncomfortable. The breakfast was just snacks.

It needs a complete makeover. Bed was as hard as a rock. Walls are paper thin.

At least my room didn’t look nothing like the pictures. It was completely outdated. The cabinet doors were falling apart, the fridge had a terrible smell , the mattress was horrible and the cherry on top was the smell of humidity. I only stayed there for about an hr before I left at 1am to look for another place to stay. It was the worse place I have ever stayed at.

I booked here due to being close to the casino, racetrack and some business we had in the area. This property needs some updating which includes chipped tiles in the lobby.The price was right to stay but there were a couple of things that this property lacked. The walls are very thin. Queens size bed looked small due to us having a queen size bed home. Only 3 small thin pillows.. come on. There is a table to sit down to eat but no chairs. Refrigerator is to close to the front door. The bathroom is small and only will fit one person at a time. The left dark curtain hook was off the top track. Hard time viewing 32" TV on bureau and should be wall mounted. Here is the first time hearing this. The front desk only gave me one key for us to use and when I went back to ask for a 2nd key, the front desk woman said it will be a 5 dollar charge. What!! This will be the last time I stay at any Extended Stay America.

The room is rundown. The carpet had worn spots. Doors were missing from the cabinets. The paint on the bathroom ceiling was peeling. The bed seemed smaller than a queen, and the pillows were so thin. The smoke alarm as falling out of the ceiling. I would not stay here again!

Reserved a stay. We arrived late from our trip. Office was closed. Did not get to check in. We were still charged 100.00 for a stay that we did not get. No refun. Management was very rude to us. I will not ever stay at this location again.

There was nothing to like about this property. They gave me a room that was damaged and dirty upon check-in. Housekeeping damaged my personal property and ESA managerial staff or the district manager did nothing. Staff is rude and dismissive. When something in your room is not in working order, it takes maintenance several weeks before they come to fix it. When you file a complaint with guest services, they do nothing to make your stay better. This property is the worst I've ever encountered by far as I'm there for business. Stay somewhere else.

The staff are very unprofessional. They overcharged my pet fee and couldn’t not provide me with documentation to reflect my refund. They would not allow me to snap a picture of the screen. A staff member got really nasty when ask to speak to a supervisor. However, the supervisor name May, had a worse attitude. I witnessed them treat an older extended guest (that pay almost $2600 a month) terrible. Also, continental by this is a joke. Would not recommend this hotel to no one.

Ms Morales at front desk super helpful and professional. Observed her interacting with regular tenants and she was super friendly and polite at all times. She was extremely busy helping customers and she also handled the check in/out well.

This place is unwelcoming. There is limited staff availability. And rooms are stripped bare you must request everything and anything.

They don’t tell you there is another $100 deposit to put down when you get there, but it is refunded back to you after 3-5 business days

I had two rooms booked. Only one room was available at check-in time (3pm). I waited until 3:45 to try and check in to the second room. i was told it was still not available. I said I'd be back after midnight and was told the I could check in to the second room at that time. When I returned at 12:45 AM, I was told that they no longer had a room with two beds in it (as I had booked), and if i needed a second bed, they would charge me for another room (with a 20% discount). So, they messed up repeatedly, then wanted ME to pay for it. When we finally got into the room at 1:15 AM, the bed had no sheets, pillows or blankets on it, and there was no shower curtain, soap, TP. I've worked at a hotel, and whenever we messed something up, we would would work extra hard to make things better for the customer. These folks did the opposite. This is no way to treat people.

The young lady at the front desk, Denita was amazing. Had an issue with my reservation and she worked some magic. Will definitely stay again.

The only problem was why dont they have more then one garbage can in the room.There is only one and thats in the bathroom. Only one chair by the desk and none by the table . Also invest in a bigger tv and mount it on the wall. Other wise I dont have any issues with that hotel.

The area around the hotel is quiet, I did feel unsafe when I walked in as the desk is behind glass and a security guard was there wearing a bullet proof vest. The staff was nice, the room was fine, the dressers looked to be falling apart but the bed was fine.

This is a very nice hotel; clean with a great staff. I like the area its in; very close to a casino and restaurants. The price for this place is right for what you get. The only negative I have is that the breakfast could be a bit better (and it is better in other competitive hotels that are similarly priced).

Nate at the front desk gave us some really good good options. Everything was good, the casino being across the way is definitely a bonus and we will be back.

FOR THE THE PRICE WAS VERY GOOD. WALKING DISTANCE TO PARX CASINO, NEAR TO MANY RESTAURANTS. BEST OF ALL COMPLETE KITCHEN, HAD FRIDGE, 2 BURNER RANGE AND MICROWAVE.

Stay America in Bensalem is conveniently located minutes from the Parx Casino and Xcite Center. Positive aspects: * Budget-friendly: Great option for budget-conscious travelers. * Attentive staff: The staff was helpful, welcoming, and informative. * Speedy check-in: Quick and efficient check-in process. * Decent breakfast: Morning coffee bar with coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and grab-and-go options like bars and oatmeal. Areas for improvement: * Rooms and decor: This is clean but could benefit from a refresh with new paint, new fixtures, and furniture. Overall: A good value for the price, ($67) but the rooms could use some updating.

People should know that there is not really breakfast included. Tea and coffee and one can pick up a muffin in cellophane or a breakfast bar. That's fine, but it is not accurate to say "breakfast included". It is not. The hotel is fine, a bit shabby, but fine. No real breakfast though.

Room was never serviced, upon check in another customer was complaining about the same issue. The included breakfast, which was a main reason for selecting this hotel, was very disappointing.

There is no breakfast just sugary stuff, elevator not working, this is emergency for old people should be fixed right away, not even one complimentary bottle of water in the fridge, ridiculous, greedy owners .

The staff was great. The grab and go breakfast left a lot to be desired. As a diabetic they did not offer milk or sugar free creamer. Asked for milk and they said they didn't have.
