Super 8 by Wyndham Chambersburg I-81

This property listed as having a pool and breakfast. The pool was drained and unusable. The breakfast was barebones. There was no coffee at 8:30am. Another guest said it was not made several days in a row. There was bread and cereal but that was about it. For the price you could have gotten a better deal elsewhere.

Hot tub .never worked .for 2 weeks then the fixed it then the pool was down .for a week Ice machine .never worked .room had a funky musty smell .hole family .got sick in the room .never going back .

Easily able to park in with the path going right to the parking lot. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was really big that had enough space to comfortably perform basic exercises like pushups between the bed and the desk against the wall with room to spare. Pool and exercise room only available till 10pm.

The pool and hot tub were drained and not able to be used. Our room smelled like stale cigarettes and there were burn stains on our bath tub. The beds were awful and squeaked everytime you moved. The elevator did not work. The staff was nice, but the overall hotel was not ok.

It’s yet another example of foreign ownership buying into the chain and cutting every corner possible. Musty odors, unworkable remote control, broken elevator, broken jacuzzi, no smoke detector, broken lamp, clangy refrigerator…skimpy breakfast all help lower our impression of what used to be a higher quality chain motel. Oh well.

Pool is closed for repairs. Room was missing lightbulbs. Only 2 towels in room. Stains on sheets

Stained pillowcases and sheets, broken light, broken mirror, broken door lock, cracked tub, dirty and stained carpets, a pair of dirty socks were left in the room, the breakfast was a choice between a piece of toast or fruitloops and the milk for the cereal was spoiled, the pool water was green.

Room was dirty , breakfast selection was only dry cereal and bread . Hot tub was out of order. Dogs barking on and off all night .

It had a hot tub and pool

Roaches in bedding, in refrigerator, in bathroom, behind mirror at sink, dead roaches on floor, stained carpets. Front desk attendant was only briefly there at check in.

The place was filthy. Odors came from the beds there was dirt and hair in the sheets stains one the covers. The floors were dirty and stained. There was mildew/mold in the shower. Wouldn’t recommend staying here at all.

This stay was disappointing from start to finish. The sheets had blood stains and were a dingy white, which was unacceptable. We were only allowed two towels at a time, even though the room had a hot tub — not very practical. The shower curtain was satin, ripped, and had visible mold. On top of that, the internet was out the entire weekend. Definitely not worth the price. Wouldn’t stay here again

room was full of bedbugs i had to leave right away

this hotel was disgusting. I want my money back. I checked in at 11:00pm and left at 4:00am because I couldn't sleep due to the smell and the fact that there were bugs crawling on me..

My room had bugs crawling on the walls, the carpet did not look clean, and a shelve had dead bugs on it. Was going to stay again on my way back home, but canceled my reservation. Place needs a deep cleaning.

Aging hotel. Dirty and worn carpet in reception. Room #219, stained carpet and burn spot. Bumped wall. Old pillows. Hotel to avoid. Not recommended. 3.0/10 A refund would be appreciated.

Sheets had not been changes on the beds had black hairs all over the sheets and mold growing around the bathroom light and the vents in the bathroom were plugged up with dust

The sheets were stained, dirty. Went out and bought blankets to sleep on and towels because the towels provided looked old and dingy. The room i was given had old broken phones. The place smelt of indian food ( which is fine but it took over the entire floor the entire stay) Tubs had cigarette burns. Bathroom door looked like it had fire damage. The staff was nice. But the place was not clean. There was black tape around the toilet seat maybe to fix a crack...will never stay..

Room was nice however no ice bins to get ice went to service desk and was handed a plastic bag. Bed was comfy however the pillows were not. Probably will not be a repeat customer

Check in was problematic, not at the desk, but at my room. First the keycard didn't work (got a new one), then couldn't key the thermostat to work (the night manager had to come up and after some time, finally got it working), then the remote to the TV didn't work right (too complicated to get into this), and the sink had a leaky faucet that dripped my entire stay. Overall, the room was fine, clean and roomy. For the price, still a good deal.

The room could use some updating

Rooms were clean. Nice area.

Felt very safe. The room was nice but needs new carpet (so many stains). The TV very difficult to work couldn’t figure it out after I mistakenly changed the channel couldn’t get any other channels and there were no instructions. But would book again.

Quiet hotel considering it's next to the interstate. Bed was comfortable but the sheets were old and rough. The only food nearby is McDonalds.

You get what you pay for with this property. Very dated and well used... Bed was comfortable for sleeping.

Room clean but dated and needs some maintenance upkeep. Towels are needed at the pool.

Good price. Comfortable and clean. Our only complaint was that the water in the shower would not turn off completely. There was a constant trickle of very hot water coming out of the tub faucet all night. (Room 209, I believe, in case a plumber wants to fix this.) Otherwise, it was a very pleasant stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Needs some updates throughout the facilities

My stay was very comfortable. Everything cleaned the room was smoke free. Lots of channels on the television. The only thing I hated, I checked in too late for use of the indoor pool. But not the next visit. Thank you

Property was near a closed Mall which contributed to the surrounding area. Staff was friendly and courteous with a smile.

The lady at the front desk was great and so helpful. Ac worked great room was clean and big.

Poor service. I tried calling for two days before check-in, and no one answered the phone. When we got there, the desk was empty. We had to wait 10 minutes for someone to show up. The pictures online looked nothing like the hotel as I feel like the pics were taken about 15 years ago. The lobby looked run down. The pool was dirty and the lights above the pool were broken and looked unsafe. We ended up not even checking in and going to a different hotel.

The front desk staff was very nice

Even though the property was non-smoking, our first room reeked of smoke. We asked to move and they moved us to a much better smelling room. Our towels were removed and never replaced. We had to go to the front desk and ask for more towels and were told, there were none available. This was unacceptable. The desk manager went to an unoccupied room to get us new towels. Breakfast was a joke. Although the website says there is a full breakfast, there was only bread to toast, yogurt and cereal. I'd say this was more of a lite breakfast not full. It was disappointing on many levels. As a matter of fact, we didn't even stay the last night of our booking as we opted to leave early and head for home.

The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that the beds were comfortable and the room was kept clean — but everything else made this stay incredibly frustrating. We had 3 adults and 1 teenager in our room, but the front desk told us management only allows 2 towels per room. I was shocked. I politely asked if he expected us to share towels, and he eventually gave us just one more. That still wasn’t enough. To make matters worse, we only had one washcloth, and after the first day, it was never replaced. I had to go all the way to the front desk to ask for more. The cleaning staff didn’t speak English, so asking for basic items like towels or soap in the hallway didn’t work. Even worse, they took the soap and never replaced it, so I had to go out to Walmart just to buy a bottle of soap to wash our hands. Some of the towels and a pillowcase were stained, which is unacceptable, even for a budget hotel. The “breakfast” was also a disappointment — just bread, cereal, coffee, juice, and some small yogurts. No eggs, no hot food. I had to go to the front desk (where the worker was just sitting on his phone) to ask for napkins and more bread. It felt like everything was bare minimum and poorly managed. I knew this was a Super 8, so I wasn’t expecting luxury — but I never expected to be treated like this. Only 2 towels for a room with 4 people? That’s ridiculous. I’ve stayed at budget hotels before, but this was beyond frustrating. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Well I am not the type to leave a bad review but this one is definitely well deserved. The back door was always open so anyone could get in, there was no smoke detector in our room, our deadbolt wouldn't lock, the keys that were given to us only one worked my husband took the key back to be fixed but then the other key wouldn't work, there were only two towels in the bathroom when we were there. And thank god we brought our own bedding with us because the bedding looked like it hadn't been cleaned. We would have been better off camping in a tent!!!!! It took me 15 minutes to find the person to check in and when we checked out I was told to leave the room keys on the desk. I will absolutely not be staying in this hotel chain ever again. And I added pictures of the bedding when I lifted up the top cover.

Heat was not working in room we reserved, which was king bed, non smoking, maintenance there could've get it to work so they were in process of moving us to another room which was their suite, we were almost moved and manager showed up and was pretty vocal about not wanting us in that particular room cause it cost more money, so we had to psck everything up again and move to another room which was 2 queen beds, non smoking , the beds were not all that comfortable and the room was very dusty, we were very disappointed but so tired, it was almost midnight , so we just accepted it and didn't say anything. We didn't leave cause we were informed it was non refundable and I didn't want to have to lay out more money at another place to stay. Other personnel at front desk was friendly and considerate of our situation but we will not choose to stay here again!

Brandon at the desk was super helpful. We misread the ad and thought we had to check in before 9:00pm when traffic held us up we were afraid we wouldn't make it in time. When we talked to him he assured that he'd be available to check us in until midnight. Big Relief! Plus he scrounged up some plastic silverware for us to have our little microwave dinners. We saw he helping other guests during our stay, so he was helpful to all around. Kudos to Brandon!

The hotel itself is in good condition. The only issue I had was hearing all the traffic/trucks fly by on 81.

Decent basic motel, end units near Rt 81, so a little noisy, unless u run fan in wall unit. Has exercise rm & small pool. Basic breakfast: juice, coffee, muffins, toast, yogurt. Clean, altho I heard dog room needs thorough cleaning. Would stay there again.

We had to make a stop for the night along the way, so we entered this hotel. The staff was nice and helpful. Rooms are adequate and nice. It is not a 5 stars hotel, but it answered our needs completely.

For one night stay, it was convenient for us. Close to 81 and restaurants close by. The room was spacious and well-maintained.

Quiet hotel considering it's next to the interstate. Bed was comfortable but the sheets were old and rough. The only food nearby is McDonalds.

Noisy neighbors but nice convenient place to stay. Breakfast was basica but appreciated the hot coffee and juices. Lottery machine was a surprise but appreciated too.

Nothing fancy, nothing bad, basic accommodations. Good location for Chambersburg/Shippensburg. Easy on/off I-81.

We like the size of our room and the linens are clean and beds are comfortable. The wall pictures are cool. But the sink was not clean and there were damages on the wall and ceiling. And we are very disappointed with breakfast, only some bread/toast and coffee was out by 8:20am

The AC in the first room didn't work. The keys worked intermittently. The "breakfast" was coffee, juice and bread as well as cereal. I expected something else

It was very nice. Easy checkin. Breakfast was very minimal. Not as good as other places.

One reason I chose this motel was based on pictures, and particularly of the breakfast area—showed a nice breakfast with waffles, hot food items, several types of sweet rolls, etc. It looked like a nice breakfast. None of that was there. Only bread and cereal—and not much of that. Not at all as pictured on the website . Please change your photos so people will get a realistic idea of what’s available.

The room was clean and fine for the most part, though there was an exposed outlet and the hot/cold water was hooked up wrong. The real problem was the breakfast, which was terrible - effectively non-existent. Even the coffee was undrinkable. We went to Panera's and spent an extra 40 bucks.

I thought the staff was nice. The location was great. I didn't like that the rooms were not clean very well, the pool area was dingy, and the there wasn't a complimentary breakfast. It said it had one but the only thing ever served was a couple pre-wrapped mini muffins, jelly, and two kinds of cereal. There wasn't a real breakfast with eggs, meat, fruit, beagles or anything like you get EVERYWHERE else that has complimentary breakfast. Very disappointed.
