Fairfield Inn by Marriott Scranton

The room was comfortable and the property is well kept. I was surprised that wifi is only available to club members and that there was a charge for parking. This is a hotel only reachable by car, so if there must be a charge for parking, it might better be made as part of the room charge. Otherwise, it seems desperate. I find it strange that the most expensive places I've stayed offer the fewest perks and conveniences. The hotel is no nicer than others that offer free wifi and parking. You should rethink this.

Very good bargain. I was happy with the experience. One thing i would suggest is that they let people know that there is a parking fee, which is billed under incudental exoenses. That wasnt clear.

Friendly staff. Fantastic big fitness Center.

Clean comfortable property. I enjoyed the stay. The one issue I have is the fact that they didn’t disclose a parking fee and ended up charging us for it.

The assistant general manager who was workimg the overnight shift was very friendly and went above and beyond to help us out with a special request. The 24-hour gym was great. Free breakfast is always helpful. Comfortable beds and pillows.

Pool was closed for renovations.

We have stayed at this property twice in recent months and returned because it was a pleasant stay. Clean rooms, relatively quiet and enjoyed the breakfast. Staff was very friendly but on our 2nd stay, the elevator was out of order. Really difficult to schlep your bags and other items up two flights of stairs.

Good location and clean. Less than desirable customer service and communication in my opinion. Was charged $12 to park and at NO TIME was this detail mentioned...not on the expedia website and not during the check in or checkout process.

Easy to get to from the highway and the staff was friendly, there was no pool as was advertised but they do offer a fitness center open 24 hours

We stayed here during college visits. It was a little further removed from downtown Scranton than I realized and set among a shopping area. The check in was fine. Not very friendly but polite. Only 2 towels in the room but we very easily got more. Hotel is updated and clean. No pool.

Found a bottle cap in my pillow, bed sheets were stained, tissue in bathroom had makeup stains (those tissues were then restuffed into tissue box), toilet seat had hair around it, bathroom counter top was filthy. Overall very very dirty!

When I went to put my things in drawers, there were chip crumbs and partial wrappers in the drawers. There was something black in the back of the refrigerator and there was a used paper plate and tissue behind the bench. I told management and they were giving me extra Bonvoy points.

We had a king bed, room was spacious bed was comfortable but the room was a dirty, the bathroom floor had not been mopped there was hair and coffee spills right in the door way not just up a corner but in the middle of the floor so it wasn’t like it was missed. The bedside table had all spills down the front of it. It was a little disappointing as we’ve stayed in a few Fairfield’s and they have always been very clean.

The front desk staff was some of the best I’ve ever encountered, but the room was filthy. The bathroom floor hadn’t been mopped in what seemed like quite awhile. And there were many additional areas that looked filthy. I was VERY grossed out. Climbed into bed and didn’t move until check out. I should have asked for a new room. Breakfast was good, served only 6-9. Again, extremely friendly staff (3 women, all nice and helpful), but housekeeping was poor to say the least. The bathroom photos don’t do it justice - way dirtier in person. And the headboard was worse than photo’d. Gross, gross, gross.

Very clean stay!

The cleanliness and housekeeping in from was very bad. The body gel and shampoo was completely empty and was not refilled and we discovered when we already started the shower. Open coffee packet was placed in coffee tray which shows that hygiene and cleanliness is lacking. Hair dryer had hairs and full of lint

Mold in the bathroom. A bit of bleach would have easily done the job. Not sure why the cleaning team did not do it.

Great place to stay. Very good breakfast. Only downside would be noise from I-81 traffic. Would stay again, but next time reserve a room away from the highway.

It’s old and tired. The elevator feels like a service entrance. No chair to sit on other than a desk chair. Room is very tight. Space around the foot of the bed is almost unpassable. Not the level I expect from a Marriott

when I arrived at this hotel I was given room 125. when I entered the room the carpet outside the bathroom was wet. I took a shower and the zero clearance handicap bathroom was draining into the entire bathroom instead of toward the drain. I used the set of towels provided to stop the water from doing more damage. nothing changed about this issue during my stay aside from a person in the next room on Saturday night conducting a nite time podcast or radio show very loudly from 7 to 730am. when the show ended they left and walked away and then there was the much needed silence.

Very quiet and pleasant staff. The beds were very comfortable and I sleptnlike a log.

The room i stayed in had a kind of body odor type smell. I need to remember to ask not to have that room. Also something kinda strange was the windo lw had a huge crack in it and duct tape all around the frame. I was so tired i didnt bother asking for another room. Still slept good though

From our room we could hear the highway traffic all night ,we were not able to get much sleep plus we could hear on of our neighbors have loud sex at all hours of the night. We would like a full refund.

The hotel and room was as described, spacious and clean. My family enjoyed the breakfast.

The thermostat in the room read 'ERROR' and it was very hot in the room where it became uncomfortable. The next morning we discovered that we can crack the window open for fresh air and that's what kept us comfortable for the remainder of the stay. In addition, the television did not work. It would turn on and then the screen would get fuzzy and we were not able to watch TV. There were not enough towels for a room booked for 4 people. When I called to the front desk for a towel, the receptionist asked me to find a housekeeper and if not, then I could go to the front desk and pick some up. Luckily, when I opened the door there happened to be a housekeeper wheeling linen down the hall and that worked out. When my daughter first went to use the bathroom, she yelled out that there was blood in the tub; when I went to take a look it seemed it was just rust/dirt and it hadn't been cleaned well. The tub also didn't drain well during each shower, causing water to build up and the next person had to wait for it to drain, which left scum behind (kind of gross). The refrigerator did not work at all; it would not turn on. The pool was closed due to renovations, which is understandable; they also advertised a daily parking fee, that was not disclosed at all, even after check-in. The only other complaint was the trash outside of the neighboring room. It had been left outside of the room door for over 24 hours with food. The hotel seems fairly new and in decent shape otherwise.

Friendly staff, very clean room. Couch pull out bed was not that sturdy but regular beds were nice.

Great desk girl. Very pleasant and friendly. Housekeepers were great. Took care of some things quickly and efficiently. Beds were very comfortable. Great stay.

They never made up the room and never told me I needed to request it

Rude and condescending woman at front desk

The hotel was great, however when I arrived I had to wait, which felt like forever for someone to check us in. No one was present at the front desk for about 5 minutes, and when you have children under 10 with you, it feels like an eternity! One the hostess arrived, she felt bad that she took so long, and said that she is the ONLY worker onsite and she has to take sheets up to the 3rd floor for another guest and that took time. It seemed weird that no “note” was left to advise patrons of the whereabouts or the timing of the check-in process. Just a note would be nice to at least inform new customers of the absence would have been nice.

The check in women had to finish playong a game on her cell phone bwfore checking me in. She was pleasant once she started the check in process but aside from asking me if i was ok on the first floor she talked about her phone game. The room stunk like a nursing home. The shower head was broken and wouldnt rotate so it was stuck on a jet stream come out. The room smell really bothered me. Beds were comfortable at least. The "hot water" in the lobby for tea and hot chocolate was an awesome set up except the "hot water" was ice cold.

Staff was of great help. Michael was very friendly, knowledgeable about the area and also accommodating of my wife’s recent ankle injury and got us a room that made our stay much easier on her.

Staff went out of their way as we had to leave earlier than breakfast was being served but they made sure breakfast was made available to us which was absolutely fantastic !!

Great location near highway and shops.

Staff were lovely. Price was really reasonable and the location to the hwy was perfect. Many good option for dinner. We did the Mexican in the plaza and it was excellent. Would definitely stay here again

The location is very close to a major highway. Noise was not bad in my room, but quite noticeable outside the building. K

The location is excellent, with all major restaurants nearby. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. However, the building is old and needs some repairs. The toilet was half functional and could use some attention, especially in the bathroom and air conditioning.

Ac didn’t work told them but nothing happened. No cookies, breakfast was very limited, no fruit , no snack bar different then other ones we always go to.

Lovely hotel, rooms were clean, breakfast was great...included eggs and sausage and an amazing amount of waffle toppings !! Enjoyable stay, would definitely return.

Maybe it’s not usual but there was no soap and conditioner in the bathroom. There was only 1 tissue in the Kleenex box. Also for the breakfast, even if they say it started at 7am, at 7:15 there was items missing from the buffet. Bread, eggs, etc. It’s like the person in charge of the breakfast was late that morning. But we expected more from a Fairfield hotel.

The bathroom was the main issue along with the breakfast. The bathroom needs a deep clean. Very little coffee and what was there was cold. This is the weakest breakfast that I have had in a hotel in a long time.

Hotel was great for the price except the breakfast was very limited. Nothing for my family so we had to go somewhere else for to eat.
