I've stayed in this hotel twice in the last three months. Initially, I liked it. It seemed to be the Cinderella option: there are more expensive hotels around, and less expensive hotels. Generally, it seemed, you got what you paid for: this hotel wasn't quite as nice as the more expensive options, and a little beat up in places, but the room, the bedding and towels were clean and comfortable; the breakfast was good and substantial; the staff was friendly and present. So, why am I not giving this place five stars across the board? Well, like I said: I expected to get what I paid for. The hotel advertised that they had an exercise room available. That was one of the reasons I chose this hotel, and not some of the less expensive options nearby. Well, when I stayed there two months ago, I noticed that the equipment was broken. The stationary bicycle didn't work at all - it wouldn't turn on, and despite looking around for a few minutes, I couldn't figure out why (it was plugged in). The treadmill did work, but was set in French (so the speed settings were in kilometers instead of miles). I did a modified workout, and pointed these things out to the lady at the front desk when I checked out. She made a note. Two months later, I came back, and nothing was changed: not even a note on the bicycle saying "out of order." I still like the hotel, but the exercise room was the reason I chose it over another. The cleanliness was also a little less than before. I'm not sure I'll be back.
