Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort

The property is older and much of the public access areas of the hotel are fairly worn. The rooms, we understand, were more recently updated and ours was very nice and clean. The pools/courtyard are very nice and maintained. Close, easy beach access. Our primary issue with the property was the food quality, preparation and cost. In our opinion, it wasn’t very good.

Check in was pushed back over an hour. Projected time was 4pm but we did not get checked in until after 5. No additional accommodation was made for having to miss dinner reservations that same evening. We went to the XO bar and received horrible service. The waitress acted as if we were inconveniencing her and did not seem like she wanted to be there. When attempting to get drinks at the pool bar it took over 15 minutes to get a single drink. Those staff also seemed very disinterested and acted as if they did not want to be there. All and all this is not the experience I would have expected from an Omni and I will not be going back.

The hotel staff is amazing but the pool bar and market seemed understaffed given the hotel capacity. We had a room issue arise in the middle of the night and it was handled well but still disappointing. Overall the property is beautiful and the amenities are wonderful but I think they could use some refresh on standards and an increase in staff.

Nice stay overall, but nothing stood out as "amazing". Didn't help that when we arrived at 5 pm, the room still wasn't ready. Note, it was just my wife and me, but if you've got a family to entertain, it feels like it would have been an even better experience given all of the amenities.
