Legacy Inn - Cookeville

Very tidy and clean. Vending worked and facility was very clean. Ice machine area very good and secure. The cash deposit requirement was a surprise a and not described by expidia booking.

Great stay for us so far this past week and a half. I like that the hotel is peaceful and quiet. Laundry on site, vending machines and ice machines are all working great.

Facilities were nice and clean. There is no breakfast nor coffee makers in the room, but they do have coffee available in the lobby.

Easy check-in. $40 cash deposit required and refundable after room is checked when leaving. Front office isn't 24 hrs. But could be available if necessary. Decent parking availability. I liked that the rooms did not have carpeting. Air conditioning worked great and didn't have a musty smell like most other places do. Beds were a bit stiff but not horrible. Pillows squished flat which wasn't great to sleep on. The covers/blanket seemed to be a very thin fleece like throw blanket with two sheets which wasn't soft or comfortable. Super bright lights in room. While on the subject of light... A bit of brightness comes in from the door frame gaps and window. The parking lot lights are on all night so if you sleep in the dark come prepared for light shining in. Housekeeping staff were friendly. Front desk worker was not so friendly/welcoming. Didn't find any sign of bugs of any kind but showed wear and tear here and there. Heads up, The area gives off spring break/college town vibes. We heard cops and sirens throughout the entire night. It seems as if the area had a cruise night atmosphere where trucks, cars, bikes and such drove (loudly) and parked up and down this area for hours each evening. Lucky for us we were able to drown out all this noise with our fan. Convenient location for food and shopping.

Clean room. Nothing special about this place but seemed clean and safe.

Room was super clean! Housekeeping was very polite and respectful and did a thorough job. All staff and management were helpful and made my stay a pleasure. Also, new mattresses were replaced with brand new pillow tops while I was there ... Which also meant I got a peek under the beds .... Not a speck of dust under there! Very impressed! I will definitely be a returning customer!

Room was not clean. Mold in shower. Toilet seat falling off. No stopper in sink.

We were in town because a family member was in the hospital. I checked in and we were in and out of the room. When we got back to the room my daughter and grandson went to the store. I went in the restroom and thought I saw mold growing on one of the walls and I moved the small trashcan by the toilet and there was mold all behind it. So I went to the office to tell the guy and he came to look and he offered to clean it with bleasch,which does not kill mold,he offered another room right beside the other room and I told him no,my daughter has allergies,so he gave me the 40 dollar deposit I put down on the nasty room and he said I had to get with Expedia to call and talk to him to see about some kind of room refund. I will only get $27 of the $66 of the room charge. I do not recommend staying at this place. Room 111 is the one they put us in.

Door's do not lock. The connecting door to room next door would not lock, moved fridge in front of to help feel more secure? Front door looked as though it had been broken into, the dead bolt lock had been removed. This lock also did not lock so we had to sit office chair in front of at night to feel somewhat more safe? Tissue shoved into eye hole of door, did not touch looked disguisitng. Bathroom looked as though it never been cleaned ever. We did not use shower as it was just that dirty. Lights were outside lights? Bedding had burn holes and smelled horrific. Screaming/fighting was heard all night long. We almost stayed in my truck to feel more safe as I was traveling with my young daughter. She was scared. I will not stay here again, there was nothing nice to say about this stay.

The bathroom really needed a good deep cleaning - the tub, baseboards, and door were filthy, but everything else in the room was in good condition. This hotel had what we needed for a quick overnight stay.

There is one thing good about this place the bed, it was comfortable, the room the bui6run down pain pealing from the walls and ceiling stains on the walls toilet seat with missing hardware seat falling off, on the door and wall look like some sort of splatter in three different areas, I WILL MOT EVEN START HERE AGAIN, AND I ADVISE ANYONE TO NOT STARY AT THE MOTEL UNLESS ONE HAS NO OTHER CHOICE AND IF THATS THE CASE I THINK SLEEPING IN ONES CAR STILL WOULD BE A BETTER CHOICE.

Do not stay here they have bed bugs! 😱

Me and my husband had bites on us after staying there. The bed had bedbugs ! And was very difficult to Communicate with the front desk. Do not stay here. Spend a little more and leave the bed bugs with them

I was given room next to busy road. Heard a lot of stomping, slamming doors and noise of all kinds.This is the 2nd time with issues. Will not stay here sgain

The room was clean and the woman checking me in was very nice and helpful. The location is close to the interstate and several different restaurants. The bed was a little too firm for my taste but still comfortable. The only bad thing was the noise from the main road (sirens and loud vehicles). Overall a decent stay for the price.

The property was nice and well maintained. The room was much nicer then expected. Had a large, king sized comfortable bed! Room was very clean. Management was friendly and professional. I highly recommend

This is a family-owned budget motel, and for the price you're paying, the rooms are excellent - clean, well maintained, with mini-fridge, microwave, working desk, USB ports by the beds, a TV you can stream through, and more. It's also the closest hotel to Tennessee Tech.

My husband and I stayed here this weekend while visiting friends and family. The $40 cash deposit at check in was unusual, but we got that back upon check out. The room was average. The king size bed was more than a little firm, kind of hard. But we only stayed 2 nights so it wasn't awful. Glad to be back home in Knoxville and in our comfortable bed. 😊

Everything was fine except for one of the beds has a worn mattress and was very saggy

Heat wouldn't work until they came and fixed it. Heat would not turn back on unless we set the fan to run constantly.

The service here is amazing and the staff is very attentive to your needs. The daily service to the room and the friendly workers makes the stay feel like home.

Lobby and room smelled. Ownership is rude

The couple who manage the Legacy Inn were very friendly to us so we would definitely stay here again. If you're only planning on sleeping here and aren't looking for a lot of amenities, then you won't find a better place for the price. My room was clean, wasn't outdated, and I got a good night's sleep for so much less than other places charge.

For one the staff is rude and very strict on their policies. They don't even allow service animals which should be actually against the law because some people actually need their animals.

Yhe owner was very disrespectful and not very helpful. I definitely will not stay their in the future. The location was close to all business and the people in Cookeville were very warm and welcoming and the cleaninfg staff was very polite and helpful/

Staff were not nice. They immediately treat you like you're a problem to the property. They do not like out of towners, which is odd becuase Im not sure who else would be staying there. They make you leave a cash deposit. They inspect the room before you can leave and are reluctant to give your deposit back, I had to show that I had detailed video of the room as i entered and upon checking out, which only then did their tone change and my deposit was given back. The staff harrassed me the whole time. As soon as I parked, in a delineated unreserved spot the lady came running out telling me to move my car. She had the excuse that drunk locals would be driving into the lot and run into my car. Then the lady wouldnt let me bring my really nice road bike that doesn't have one flake of dirt on it into my room. She called the room phone as soon as I entered to tell me about the bike, which she then started yelling at me over the phone. She only changed her town when I had expedia rep intervene. Do yourself a favor and just go somewhere else and save yourself from the negative energy at this place. It took me a while to shed the negativity with meditation and finally get to sleep after midnight after a 13 hour long driving day.

Quiet area

Room was clean and inexpensive. Didn’t spend much time in the room so not having amenities did not matter. Inn is located in a great location. There are several grocery stores within 5 minutes. We spent a weekend there exploring Burgess Falls and other falls around and we had a great time.

My favorite place to stay when I’m in Cookeville very friendly staff it’s always clean and it’s in a great location close to a lot of restaurants and stores anywhere you want to go is just a minute or two down the road

Great place to stay in Cookeville.

The place was nice and quiet and had easy access to shopping and was close to the wedding venue

Passing through and have stopped here twice now, and will stay here again!! Price was cheap and perfect, no breakfast , but that’s not a deal breaker since price was only $50

every hotel asks for a deposit when you check in, but Legacy Inn only accepted cash deposit ($40) no credit/debit cards. At first I was annoyed, but every other place I've stayed I had to wait 2 weeks for that deposit to be put back in my account. Here, I got the deposit back when I checked out. Nice. The room was clean and the bed super comfortable. I wish there had been coffee makers in the room, or at least coffee available 24/7 in the lobby (they had it every morning till 11:00) but that's the only criticism I have. Staff were friendly, lots of eateries nearby. I'll definitely stay here again.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this room was for it's affordability. The couple that run it are exceptionally friendly and service minded. My only suggestion is to have coffee available in room. Minor problem

Basic but good value as an overnight stopover. No coffee making facility in room and coffe only available at reception in mornings (free). Was just looking for somewhere to sleep overnight so didnt explore wider area - bed was comfortable though
