Ashmore Inn and Suites Lubbock

The hotel had such a horrible odor that I went and bought heavy duty Febreze and sprayed my hallway, room, and especially the closet. I asked for a bar of soap to wash hands for two days to no avail. Finally, a young woman at the front desk went to look and found that their shipment was not in yet! The room was supplied with a very small bottle of body wash for all of our needs. The grounds were very unkept, especially by the side entrance to our hallway. The pool was probably cleaner than lake water. Needless to say, I will never stay here again!

If I could give negative stars I would. Property is run down inside and out. Entered the room to be greeted by a a roach and the stench of smoke. Sheets were stained, found a fingernail clipping in the bed, wallpaper peeling off walls, carpet stained, side table dirty. Was given a new room which a was assured was the best one and very clean. Second room smelled just as bad, had a plastic bag over the smoke detector and food left in the refrigerator! Didn't even stay two hours and after numerous calls, chats with hotels.com and visits to the front desk was assured of a refund but still waiting on my refund for the 3 nights I had booked!

Peeling wallpaper in the bathroom and hallway. Part of the desk fell off when it was touched. The room was clean other than it didn’t appear that the carpet had been vacuumed. Some of the staff were unfriendly but front desk personnel were friendlier. We missed breakfast by a few minutes so not sure about it. Parking was fine.

When we arrive at the hotel, there was no toilet paper, tissue paper or hand soap, and they didn’t even have a shower curtain. We had to go to the front desk to request the items. The shower curtain issue dragged for two days so the first two days we had to shower without it and water was splashing all over the bathroom making it slippery. We had to use the towels to dry the floor and so we didn’t have enough towels to use for to dry our bodies. The room also smelled like dogs and you could tell things were just not very clean. And on top of all that the bed was terrible. It was slanted and you could feel the springs in the mattress so I I would wake up every morning with a sore back. I did complain to the front desk and they said they would just make a note. They didn’t offer to change the room or anything like that. I would not recommend going back to this place. Also, I’m not sure if they didn’t plan correctly for the number of guests, or what, but they will run out of breakfast items before breakfast time was over leaving people without stuff to eat.

I understand being short staff which is why I want you to take this into consideration. With this hotel being short staff these are the issues found in the room and yes I took pictures. The toilet had pubic hair on it, no toilet paper in bathroom, the tub was dirty, the floor in the bathroom had hair on it, there was a hole where the door knob hits the wall, roach in bathroom, tub had mold on sides needs to recaulked, the bathroom sink had food in it, the sheets were not changed out because there was dirt and hair in it, missing light bulbs in a lamp and microwave, microwave was dirty, food was left in the fridge from previous guest, fridge wasn't clean, no trash bags in trashcan or in ice bucket. The hotel was sold out due to graduation ceremony for Texas Tech which is why we couldn't go to another room. Didn't bother with the continent breakfast didnt trust it with how the room was given to us. Again keep in mind they were short staffed. Maybe it is better if they were fully staffed.
