Extended Stay America Suites - Washington, DC - Falls Church - Merrifield

Be aware all rooms are exterior doors. Room was reasonably clean, however, all furnishings and even construction seemed old and cheaply made. Door did not feel secure. I would not recommend this location. The staff I encountered at the desk were very polite.

The staff was great. The elevator was in need of some work and the other elevator never worked the whole time I was there. Room keys needed to be rebooted every 3 days….? But the employees were always ready to help in anyway possible.

My flight arrived late and their phone located outside of lobby door's wasn't working. I had to call the hotel's number from my cellphone to advise someone I'd been standing outside to check in. Other than that - area is generally quiet. I had one family have a mini BBQ at the picnic tables located outside. Convenient location to most things.

We were unaware prior to checking in that there was no elevator on-site! We aren't able to climb stairs, let alone pull suitcases up them. After checking in, we then found that we couldn't stay at the hotel and that there were no ground floor rooms available. We had to leave and book elsewhere. We've never been to a hotel before that doesn't have an elevator! Although we found afterwards that the Expedia listing does indicate that there is no elevator, we still want the reservation to be refunded!

Facility and surround area are dirty. The room linens and carpet are old. No elevator to get on upper floor. Breakfast is just grab and go. Does not worth the money paid for the room

Seemed a bit sketchy at night. Some interesting people outside in the parking area. Also parking was a premium so i had to park way on the other side of the building and walk to my room.

It had snowed over a week before I arrived. The parking lot was only partially plowed, the sidewalks were horrible and there was ice everywhere. I almost fell 3 different times because of the ice walking back and forth from my vehicle.

Easy to get to, lots of parking. I arrived a few minutes after 11:00pm and the lobby doors were locked. There was a phone to use to call for check in but no one answered. After about 10 minutes someone finally came to check me in

Vending machines were broken but the front desk clerk gave us his personal water which he didn’t have to do that was very nice.

Need food delivery and more parking for commercial vehicles.

Not sure why I expected any different from an ESA--but there were clothes drying on bushes and all manner of people standing around the parking lot smoking, etc. The breakfast area is coffee and hidden muffins below the coffee (would not have known they existed but the very nice front desk staff told me). The room was great. Clean. Bed very comfy.

Roaches. Mold. Dark. Disrepair. Lacked hospitality.

Everything in the room was dirty. Right down to the remote to the TV.

There were bunch of hairs in the tub. Black dots on the sheet. Had to just leave there.

The hotel is very run down. Roach infested. Questionable stains on comforter. Cabinet doors barely hanging on and lamp that was bent over broken. Ceiling in shower was poorly “repaired”. All of my luggage will now be outside in case of a hitchhiker. We stayed here due to its close proximity to inova hospital and it was quite disgusting. I complained about the infestation and wasn’t offered a refund either.

The room is extremely outdated and smelled musty!!! The tub area was rust-stained and the tile area by the tub was chipped. The toilet was extremely difficult to flush and the towels were stained as well!.

This property was BY FAR, the most disgusting motel I’ve ever encountered. Our room was filthy, stunk like smoke and cat pee, and had bugs crawling on the walls. Also had other shady unknown “guests” smoking marijuana and hanging out in the common areas outside. Needless to say we quickly checked out of this dump!! I would never send ANYONE to this property. Marriott should be ASHAMED to call this property theirs!!!!

The facility shows its age. But the room was clean and conveniently located for our needs.

Noise all night. Hardly any sleep. One room downstairs had visitors every night. Loud music all night. You can hear people yelling. Room has horrible smell of cigarette smoke. Called the company but got a fake email for complaint. Their web site for providing feedback is broken.

Outdoor entrances to rooms but otherwise has the basic amenities needed.

Convenient location. Great value. Clean. Noisy ac.

Staff are very friendly and attentive. Rooms are spacious.

It really needs some updates cause it looked worn out.

I got more than i was expecting. Nice little room with rv size refrigerator , 2 burner stove , a little eating área.

Location was good. Building needs remodeling. Walls are paper thin. Efficiency kitchen was nice for the size.

It was an ok experience,but not as good as I had hoped. The lady who checked us in was helpful. However, I asked for a quiet room. She initially had said she planned to give us a 2nd floor room, but the only 2nd floor room with a king-sized bed was next to a room with 2 dogs. Instead we ended up with a first floor room near the looby, behind a stairwell and trash cans. It was noisy footsteps overhead and noise outside until 10:00 pm, and relatively quiet after. Since it was an extended stay hotel with small kitchen, I was perplexed to find you need to order plates, utensils, glasses, and a toaster, if you want one. I also had to go to the reception desk for a bedcover and sheet (blanket and pillow unavailable) for the sofa bed where our son would sleep. We gave him our coat and pajamas to keep him warm, with a cold breeze come through the crack between the door and the door frame. Free breakfast was packaged muffins, granola bars, oatmeal, coffee, or hot chocolate. Parking lot was a bit sketchy, with a few characters milling around.

Rooms are old and worn down.

My parents were on a trip, and I booked this hotel for them to stay. They checked in at 10:20 PM on 12/30/2024. They requested a room on the 1st floor, but the receptionist gave them a room on the 2nd floor. When they went to their room and tried to take a shower, they found that the bathtub would not drain at all. They then went to the front desk to request a room change, but the receptionist told them the hotel was fully booked and no rooms were available. Furthermore, since it was after 11 PM, she said she couldn’t do anything and would have to call a mechanic the next morning, which was pointless since they were staying for just one night and leaving the next morning. When my parents told me about the situation, I searched for another available room at the same hotel and found available rooms. It was clear the receptionist had lied, and her attitude was rude and aggressive. She even threw the credit card on the table when handling the situation. I cannot believe this situation and very disappointed experience.

Place was clean and had plenty of hot water. Towels, soap, all good. Bed clean and comfortable. Maria at the front desk was extremely helpful, personable, and professional.

It’s not so much the property that I have a problem with. It’s the head of the staff and the way he interacts with the customers is unacceptable! Something needs to change with your staffing. I was confronted in a very disrespectful way when I checked in and then blamed for something that I did not do and was turned away. I will be passing this message along.

Bobbie at the front desk is the best!!! She answered every question and solved any problem I had. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

The staff has turned me away from ever utilizing your property again. Particularly the manager. His conduct was not only rude but completely unacceptable

Front desk said there were no rooms although online it showed 4 available. And then proceeded to Not be able to acquaint me and tell me to contact hotels.com. She then locked the door and turned the lights out going somewhere in the back. Mind you it was midnight.

A quiet, good safe place to stay for a convenient rate. With the proximity of about 15-20 minutes to visit Washington DC famous points of Historical significance.

The location was great. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff respinded quickly to a few problems, i.e. TV signal, difficulty opening the door and the room number sequence. No signs directing you to the rooms, so a bit difficult.

Good basic accommodations. Very affordable. Only Oatmeal and coffee for breakfast. Bring your own pots, dishes and cutlery though. Under a mile to Inova Medical Campus.

Bedding apeared to be clean and room was in decent condition but we did see a couple of small roaches in the room. There was also water maintenance requiring the water to be shut off which was not a problem. However it shut off earlier than the time communicated so we were not all able to shower. The free breakfast was grab n go instant oatmeal, nutigrain bars and prepackaged muffins. It is walking distance from the hospital, grocery store, restaurants and a fancy shopping area which was convenient.

Nice stay overall with decent room and friendly staff Breakfast can be better than oatmeal :) Guests were a bit noisy specially at night however it is not the property issue Thank you

Good basic hotel room at a good price. Room, sheets, towels were clean. Adequate grab and go breakfast: oatmeal, muffin, bars, hot coffee and water. Good customer service at front desk, everyone was nice, Naktai and others.

Room was okay, ckean. Breakfast was a huge downer. Just a simple grab and go which was expected but it was pretty lame. Pleasant counter staff.

We were there for only an overnight. It was quiet, polite and easy check-in. Breakfast was minimal, but didn't expect much. Very clean, but room was lacking a trash can (?) The mattress was firm but not uncomfortable. The metro station is just up the road and as it was a weekend. parking there was free. I imagine there was bus service to it also.

This hotel is old and run down and the grab and go breakfast was nothing but coffee --they were out of creamer--and pre packaged preservative free muffins and cereal bars. Not even a banana. The room was clean but toilet needed three flushes each time before it would work.

Room smelled like cigarettes, bedding with a lot of hair strands, dirty toilet, "breakfast included" it was only 2 coffee jars with creamer and chocolate muffins... and $120 a night 😞 👎
