The view from the room and convenience was excellent. The hotel offers kids eat free for all meals as well which was wonderful. The room was smaller than expected and the water pressure in the shower left much to be desired. Room was clean enough. All employees were friendly and helpful. The poor was smaller than it looked in the photos. It was clean and never crowded. The food at Hemingway's was very good and the staff were wonderful.

I liked that I was allowed to check in before check in time. Otherwise: The hotel has poor parking. It also has poor management. I needed to print important papers, however the computers keyboard did not work due to the cable being broken. Finally when we managed to make it work and I finally got to my papers I wasn’t able to print them due to the ink being empty in the printer. There was no new ink in the hotel. The next morning I was told that the new ink should arrive around 9am. When I asked at 9am there was another front desk worker and she said that there is no ink until her manager comes in around 11am and she has to install it. By then was check out time for me and I had to be gone. Also, when I came back from the beach, all entrances into the hotel from the backside were locked and the keys would not work either to open the door. There was another couple with me with child that had to walk all the way around passing another hotel in order to enter the front door of the hotel. It was raining and very inconvenient. There also is only one coffee Maschine and no hot water for tea. There was No options. No breakfast either unless you paid for the restaurant. The front office staff could have been nicer too (with an acception of two). Other than that it was a ok stay. I will definitely not return.

The hotel stay was good. My only issue was parking. There's very lil parking onsite and very lil parking at the offsite parking. Guest shouldn't have to worry about beating others to a parking spot.

Overall experience was great. Loved having refrigerator and microwave in the room. The bed was very comfortable. The location was also great! However, the pool was very small and the water appeared cloudy. The food at the bar and grill was good.

The pool was not clean as supposed to and door to leave to the beach did not open when you want to go back. You need to go around the building. The restaurant was awesome with good food and service. I recommend and I would stay again for sure

Excellent stay, the staff was super-helpful. Very well managed surrounds. Bar and restaurant in the building is super convenient. The shops across the street is a big plus. The pool did feel like a sauna, when it is 90 degrees outside. Also had to ask for extra towels, which could have been provided upfront. The reservation for 4 was made months ahead.

We enjoyed our long weekend at the Holiday Inn Oceanside hotel. Staff, amenities & especially the location were the best. Only small issue was one elevator was broken intermittently, so we had to use the stairs on a few occasions. 9th floor is a hike on a hot day. Otherwise, very happy and we would return again! Thank you!

I like the location. The room itself was nice and fairly modern. Challenges with clean bedding on arrival and the breakfast buffet was cold.

Overall a great stay. Easy walking distance to several restuarants, shops and the beach. Great view. Only downsides were some days I felt like the room wasn't cleaned well and the pool was not clean (foggy and foamy); I would not let me kids go in there.

Nice location if you want to be in the center/busy section of the strip. The room was not properly cleaned. I saw housekeeping working hard…not sure if they are understaffed? Hair on the bedspread, tissue under the sink. Hotel outdated. Air conditioning unit constantly leaked onto the balcony leaving a large puddle. Balcony above our room also dripped…needless to say, we weren’t able to enjoy the balcony. Television didn’t work properly.

When we arrived, the staff is FANTASTIC! Our room smelled like vomit and there was still used towels in the bathroom! They were not able to move us since the hotel was full. They did offer us a free breakfast/lunch and some award points (which FYI are still 50k short of a night somewhere). I am livid that for days I had to smell vomit in our room. I will never stay here again. For $625 that I paid - wasn't worth it to smell vomit the entire time I was in that room

Overall a good place to stay. We had a large spacious room, but the bathroom was tiny. The bathroom commode tilted every time it was sat on. Other than that, it was fine, and I would stay there again.

Had a fantastic stay here for vacation. Have been trying to get in for a handful of years but they stay full and I now know why. Location is perfect to everything. Complimentary valet parking. Great breakfast buffet and menu. Nicely updated and current theme throughout. Balconies seem a big larger than other places. Very clean and well kept. Excellent staff. I will definitely be back!

The HVAC unit was very noisy, I informed the front desk and they offered to switch rooms at 0030. I declined and finally fell asleep with the TV volume turned up and the HVAC system turned off. The noise appeared to be coming from the stack. Clearly this problem should have been corrected before the room was occupied!

Overall it was nice, great view, although the shades in our room were broken which we didn't realize till late in the evening. As the sun rose, it filled our bedroom with light, waking everybody up at the crack of dawn. I did let the staff know, and they were apologetic and gave us complimentary breakfast vouchers.

You can't beat this particular property for its location, esp for events like The Wicked. However, the suite was a major disappointment in that the kitchenette had NO supplies, e.g. no drinkware, utensils, plates, cleaning supplies, etc. The cabinets were completely empty. When I went down to beg a corkscrew off of the reception staff, I was told that none of these would be provided. In essence then, a suite at this property gets you some extra square footage, a larger refrigerator and an extra sink. period. If you expect a kitchenette to be better equipped -- as I did -- book at The Marriott Residence Inn, where, in my experience, such basic amenities are provided.

We booked a king suite. We assumed since the room came with kitchen cabinets we would have kitchen tools. Microwave, coffee pot and large refrigerator. Nothing to cook with. The floor in our room was slanted so bad the dresser drawers would open randomly. The room was good great view. Needs a carpet upgrade.

It was alright, it’s an older building… was suppose to have a high floor and ended up on the first floor, brought the matter to the front desk and they were fully booked for the night. AC unit in room was really loud and leaked water all over the balcony. People next to us smoking cigarettes outside so everyone on our floor basically got threatened with a letter first thing in the morning saying if there’s “evidence” that they will charge us $250. The thing was we’re not smokers but when we got there and went outside on the balcony there looked to be old cigarettes everywhere on the ground. I liked the restaurant at the hotel, the water in the lobby, convenience of walking everywhere, and being right on the beach. I don’t think I’d stay here again
It was alright, it’s an older building… was suppose to have a high floor and ended up on the first floor, brought the matter to the front desk and they were fully booked for the night. AC unit in room was really loud and leaked water all over the balcony. People next to us smoking cigarettes outside so everyone on our floor basically got threatened with a letter first thing in the morning saying if there’s “evidence” that they will charge us $250. The thing was we’re not smokers but when we got there and went outside on the balcony there looked to be old cigarettes everywhere on the ground. I liked the restaurant at the hotel, the water in the lobby, convenience of walking everywhere, and being right on the beach. I don’t think I’d stay here again

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn on 21st Street in Virginia Beach, and I had an absolutely wonderful experience! It was an awful experience!! The room smelled of mildew, the staff was extremely RUDE!! To the point of us leaving, and they attempted to charge my card 9 times!!! For a reserve now, pay later booking. I have been with Expedia for years now, I have been traveling to multiple hotels for years for business, NOTHING has ever compared to the disservice that I received at this hotel! Please do not stay there and make sure you don’t have to deal with Sydney! She is awful!!

This hotel was great the staff were super friendly and helpful. The only problem we had were the people in the room beside us blaring a stereo. We called the front desk at 11:10pm. 11pm is when the sound restriction at the hotel starts and they sent security straight up. It was quiet enough to sleep by 11:15pm this was the best stay i have had a Va. Beach and i have been coming here and staying in different hotels for more than 10 years

My car was valet and when I needed to leave valet was not available to give me my car. The staff had to call another guest and ask them to walk to a secondary lot early in the morning to move their car (also valet). If valet is not 24hrs or at minimum available at prime hrs, you should not load cars in blocking others. My daughter was late to her competition due to the hotels lack of organization and urgency! Terrible.

The hotel itself was wonderful. Great facility, staff, and room. Great room layout, lots of hotels don’t offer in room microwaves these days but this hotel did. It was quiet and very little noise transfer between rooms for us. And best of all right on the beach with spectacular view. The only downside was the surrounding activity during our stay - it’s on 21st. There was a near riot one night we were there with hundreds of young kids swarming the block. A dozen police cars literally right in front of the hotel. Officers all over the place on high alert and things seemed just barely under control. It was nerve wracking trying to get from the off site parking lot (which is very close) to the hotel in the middle of that. And it definitely wasn’t safe to go walking on the boardwalk or visit any of the shops on Atlantic Ave that evening. As far as the hotel itself it was one of the best we have stayed in a long time - but mixed feelings about the safety of the block. I feel like if you stay at a much higher or lower block number this would not be an issue.

This was our second visit to this hotel, so I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place on the oceanfront. It is about midway on the boardwalk, and is within walking distance of some good restaurants and shopping. Rates are reasonable, which is always a plus.

The view from the room and convenience was excellent. The hotel offers kids eat free for all meals as well which was wonderful. The Hemingway Restaurant needs more staff the ones that do work there were all very nice. The cook is amazing! The pool area could use more chairs and more regular cleaning the water around the pool could cause a slip accident. I would recommend this hotel to family friends and co-workers with kids.

Would not recommend eating breakfast at the hotel due to poor quality of food and very bad service. Same thing regarding the bar, very diluted drinks. There plenty restaurants and bars in walking distance from the hotel.

A short two night stop here and it was in an ideal location. Excellent views from the balcony across the beach and sea. We watched dolphins swimming just off shore and navy ships pass with jet aircraft flying overhead. All very much to our liking especially as the weather wasn’t great to walk along the promenade. Car parking is a bit expensive but it worked out ok.

Very load hvac, phone didn’t allow to listen to messages. Hot water took forever to reach room. Staff made use move cars twice from parking lot they didn’t get around to fixing. Toilet keep real filling! Overall dated hotel!
