The hotel could’ve been cleaned better the pool area is extremely small and doesn’t get a lot of sunshine. The hotel is located in a nice area and the conociere was nice. They didn’t have really have continental breakfast, a lot of coffee and muffins and the ice machine on each floor was out of service. The room had a smell to it.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable enough for our family of four while we were on our mini vacation. The pricing was fair as well. The kitchenette has a refrigerator, microwave, stove and oven. However, there is no cookware, table settings or dining or serving utensils provided. This is not listed anywhere on the site and was one of the main reasons I booked it. I had to buy things to prepare and eat our food in. Other than that, it was a good stay.

The room was absolutely disgusting. They offer and say on their website that they have kitchenette well why offer a kitchenette if you don’t offer eating utensils, plates, pots pants, and whatever else you need to cook that is ridiculous. Also, the coffee pot was disgusting. They did not clean it from the last Guest and there were still coffee in there The telephone did not work. You cannot reach the office unless you went down there or use your cell phone to call them. The swimming pool was absolutely disgusting. It had a terrible odor to it and the water was brown. We had to leave on an emergency to go back home and they would not give us a refund on two days that we did not stay there so we lost, that money they claimed to Expedia that we did not come in and tell them we were leaving on an emergency we in fact did go inside. Miss Vera Brockwell went in personally and told him we had to leave for an emergency back home, but they told Expedia that we didn’t tell them we were leaving for an emergency so they won’t give us our money back so an essence they stole from us. We cannot help that we had a family member fall , this is discussing these people don’t care about human life and care about the Almighty dollar to not refund our money. I absolutely would not recommend this hotel to anybody. It is filthy disgusting and nobody in the world should swim in that pool because if you do you definitely gonna get sick it was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in . .

Elevator was busted most of.the time

The parking lot is very cramped, odd placement for the speed bump, and very steep drive way.

It was conveniently located to the beach area and convention center and within walking distance to some restaurants nearby and a few miniature golf courses very close by. Being at a corner near the main drag had some traffic noise, but the AC fan drowned a lot of it out. Swimming pool was closed during my mid September stay.

They tried to have us leave our room a day early because they did not have the correct checkout date "on file" parking is an absolute joke. They sell parking to the public so even though you stay there, you will not have a space to park

I also liked that there was an ATM in the lobby and an ice machine. So many times, if there is an ice machine, it doesn't work.

What we liked was it was convenient (walkable) to get to beach, stores etc we like the parking was also available. The kitchenette we had was average not a 5 star but was decent. What we DIDN'T like was that we got Stuck in the Elevator, then afterwards it was BROKE. Making very inconvenient for me to get upstairs to my room because of my bad knees.

The elevator was faulty. It closes itself seven times before actually moving. It gets stuck in between floors. There are only three floors. I went out to grab a bite ² eat & had to wait TWENTY MINUTES before the elevator came. It only came because Mỳ Husband went to fetch it. I called the front desk and the clerk made some sound effects then put Mə on hold. Called the posted maintenance number on the front desk door which had an extension and no answer. Of course I want a FULL REFUND!! However, certain the hotel will DENOUNCE the allegations. That is how the stay in business. Instead of these third parties STANDING UP for the customers they take the property owner's denial as the truth.

The only good thing, is close to the beach, it smells like mildew. Asked for non smoking room due to asthma and it smelled like cigarettes had to use a towel over pillow. Old carpet, stairs smelled like urine. Needs to be completely renovated. Would not recommend at all.

Staff was great and helpful. Unfortunately, the bathroom wasn’t cleaned…hair everywhere, floors were dirty, shower curtain had mold. Room smelled thick of marijuana. For the price, I didn’t expect it to be perfect and was fine with older motels…I just wouldn’t stay again bc rooms aren’t cleaned in between stays.

roaches everywhere. dead and alive. I chose to sleep in my car instead of staying in the room I had already booked and paid for. The hotel has yet to contact me back about my concerns and request for a refund.

It was absolutely horrible! It was beyond dirty! It had such a horrible smell! The stove was dirty with food from whoever was there before! The microwave also had food it in!!!

I checked in went to the room and checked right back out! 1st the room had a terrible smell l, the rub had dirt & hair in it The refrigerator had a clump of hair The beside table looked it had mild in it and the telephone was dirty I have requested a full refund thru Expedia

Room was gross and not as advertised. Carpet was sticky, only thing that look new is the bathroom. Bed had mildew or something in it. Cabinets trash, stove hood disgusting. Even though it was non smoking still smelled like smoke and stuffy like it hasn’t been used in ages. I’m just surprised there weren’t any roaches. And to top it off the TV didn’t even work. Staff were great though

Right across from Peabodys so gets loud on weekends. Great proximity to everything. Will stay again. Suggestion stop letting people sit in stairwells after dark

It was fine just that the first room they gave us smelled totally like cigarettes. Asked for a second room and that one didn’t smell until u turned off the A/C. Wifi was ehh. Overall was just looking for a cheap place to stay to be able to go to the beach.

Sundial inn was great but the only thing I was not happy was the beds were to small I was expecting queen size double beds but got full size but great stay

The beds are hard as a rock. It could have been a little more cleaner. Check in time was 3p. It wasn't ready till 5

Hotel is nothing special but it was clean & close to the ocean. Our only issue was the beds are hard. I mean HARD. Like hurt your hips if you sleep on your side hard.

For the price paid I understand it wasn’t going to be a perfect place. The ironing board was broken, the HDMI port on the tv was broken, stains all over the floors and towels, floors were very dirty, sink and tub was left dirty. This place would have much more potential if they took time to clean it.

The front office staff-- Miss NYLA Excellent.! Easy Convenient Check In. Room- very clean...Bathroom --small but super clean. Location is great.Near ocean,restaurants,pizza shop etc .! Has trouble getting TV signal- staff was there in 5 mins for a quick fix.Comfortable beds!

I booked a room for my unhorsed relative for one night because it was the cheapest available room for the night and the situation was urgent. When I asked on a call if there was anything else I should know before she got there for check in, I was assured it would all go smoothly. My relative got there and the staff was rude because she had her belongings in a trash bag. I didn’t tell them she was homeless on the call because I didn’t think it was necessary for the CHEAPEST room available to mention such a thing. And they didn’t think it was necessary to tell me she had to have a credit card or $100 cash deposit to stay there. Almost twice what the room would cost. Still haven’t been refunded by the way… So then I had to pay for a second Uber ride to pick her up from that hotel and book her at an even more expensive one that was much kinder and made it easy for me to pay for the room and her just rest. I won’t be using sundial because they clearly lack compassion

They tried to kick us out a day early and walked in on me and my girlfriend literally everyday asking if we were checking out. I had already paid to stay an extra night and okay'd it with the front desk because I didn't want it to become the huge issue it became. I clearly communicated with staff for days prior to have some angry rude lade come barging into my room while my girlfriend is naked in bed. I couldn't be less pleased with the customer service and even after I proved they were wrong no apology or anything. Parking is a joke, they sell parking to beach goers so even though I was paying to stay there I had to pay to park somewhere else. This place was the only downside to my otherwise great vacation. I would highly advise not staying here

They’re very accommodating and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Upon arrival, our room was dirty. It hadn’t been swept, kitchen floor was filthy. Bathroom was okay but we had to go buy a small trash can as there was not one. We had 4 people staying and paid the extra money for them but they only gave 2 towels, washcloths, etc. when maid service came around. constantly having to go get more from the office. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I will never go back. My sisters room was the same way. She found a used tampon behind her bed and reported to the office. She ask them to remove it, we went to dinner and came back, it’s still there. We had to go to the office and demand it be removed. The manager finally removed it. Anyway I did give a 2 Star instead of a one because they did try to accommodate our needs but for the price we paid it was very disappointing.

Asked for sheets for sofa bed. They told me to go down and get them. They would not bring them to my room.

Perfectly good hotel, especially for the price. The only downside is they are in a high traffic area that is noisy at night, especially in high summer. Not their fault. If you really need quiet, go up the beach or inland. Otherwise, Sun Dial is a great way to be walking distance to the beach for less.

It was nice and close to everything.

One street from the center of the strip. Park your car in the secure shaded free parking and your on vacation because you can walk everywhere. Convenient quick access to the beach. Several Restaurants, shops, entertainment, attractions…. Perfect for an inexpensive beach getaway.

Very convenient to get to from the interstate. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, although the bathroom could have used a little more cleaning. Nothing really dirty or gross, but some things were definitely overlooked. This hotel is directly across the parking lot from a nightclub that has live music until after midnight. And it’s loud. We had the tv and a sound machine on and could still hear it. The hotel is also in the direct flight path for the naval airbase. It is very loud in this area. On the day of check out, a random man from the hotel knocked on our door at 10:30 am and then left. Even though we had the do not disturb sign on the door. As a single mother traveling alone with a child, who does not know anyone in this city, this was definitely concerning. I asked at the front desk about it and was told sometimes they do that since check out is 11, just to see if anybody needs towels to shower. I have stayed in many hotels in VA Beach and all over the US and this has never happened anywhere else. Also, the room security is minimal at best. One lock on the door, nothing else.

I like that it’s close to the boardwalk and there’s a mini kitchen in our room. The staff were also friendly.

I thought we would have breakfast it said or web and when i call said breakfast all the money u should have breakfast was close to beach which was good we walk to beach take your price down some

If you don't want to spend that extra money for oceanfront, this is the place to be. Conveniently located near the beach and shops. The place is not fancy but clean and it has a kitchenette. Bring your own utensils none are provided. They provide you with towels, soap and shampoo. Great place for the price!

This place is right on point with 4 7 11s around you with a few restaurants also within a half mile or less. Pizza, sandwich places, small stores, a beach shop is right behind the office. I stayed a while so the laundry mat is first left and up the road. When i called i thought it was american owned but it isnt. The rooms dont look like the pictures in the photos of the motel. Its a old one. Make sure you drive something that isnt low because the parking lot has a major dip going in and the sideways trick only works some. I scraped my exaust tips every time. Any car will if going to fast over the speed bump before that. Get the room for 100 or less its worth it. Beds are comfortable. Dont go to the beach right now. Cant swim because the water is polluted. Starts right where you would swim coming out of the room and walking to the beach.

Super friendly staff, they actually remembered us from the last time that we stayed. The room was cleaned and they have staff who comes in the morning and afternoon to bring fresh towels and supplies if needed. No breakfast, but they did have a coffee machine that my husband loved to use all day long. Super easy parking with lots of spaces, and not too long of a walk from the beach. Would not recommend Guad’s, but I do recommend Casa Burritos and Bowls down the street to the right or Las Palmas but that one’s a bit of a walk

I did like the place was close to the beach for 2 mins. It would be much better to serve breakfast but the stays was really cozy.
