Alpenruh had a great staff, delicious dining, beautiful views, and comfy, clean rooms. It was very close to the cable car drop off on the east side of town, so that was convenient. The balcony was spacious, and the room was a decent size too. It was very quiet. Staff let us store our luggage onsite both on early arrival and late departure to and from Mürren. There is a lovely walk from Mürren down to Gimmelwald that takes about 30 minutes.
Alpenruh had a great staff, delicious dining, beautiful views, and comfy, clean rooms. It was very close to the cable car drop off on the east side of town, so that was convenient. The balcony was spacious, and the room was a decent size too. It was very quiet. Staff let us store our luggage onsite both on early arrival and late departure to and from Mürren. The room was lovely, bright, clean and with an outstanding view. The staff is friendly and attentive. The restaurant and included breakfast was also wonderful and very convenient. The only downside to thus hotel is it’s lacking some amenities, (hot tub, in room coffee), however we would absolutely stay again. The location just off the tram stop made it also easier to get to than other remote hotels in the higher Lauterbrunnen valley. We will be back!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, but small. The Swiss breakfast buffet was fine, however, there were flies and bees everywhere--in the food on the buffet and a total nuisance at the table. There was a bee that got stuck in the jam jar. I would have liked to have the automatic coffee machine available 24/7 as it had been at our other stays in Switzerland. When I asked if I could walk in the breakfast area and get a cup of coffee at 8:30pm from the automatic coffee machine I was told "no". This was a little disappointing. However, staying in the village of Murren was a great choice. It was way less crowded than Lauterbrunnen. Murren was a cute car-less village. I did not realize that it is located on the top of the mountain and that no cars are allowed. It was easy to park in Stechelberg and take the cable car up to the village. The parking was expensive, but that goes with everything else in Switzerland.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms very clean. Our room had an excellent balcony. The view is quite amazing. Ate dinner at the Hotel restaurant. Very pleasant staff and good food. The only reason I knocked the surrounding area was because they are working on a new gondola next door and it was a bit messy. Not the hotels fault. We were able to have them hold our bags so we could explore the area and come back later and check in. Front desk clerk Andi was a hoot and a good idea person for hikes. Just don’t believe him when he says it’s a little uphill because he must be part Billy goat. It was a lot uphill but very worth it. We really enjoyed our stay.

Really enjoyed our 3-night stay in Mürren! The hotel was a very short walk from the cable car. Staff was very friendly especially the cat Pompous! Room was small but very adequate plus it had a terrace with amazing views. Had breakfast (included) there every day and 2 dinners and everything was delicious. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is a fairly long walk from the train station, but it's an easy one. The hotel is just next to the cable car to Schilthorn, which is great. The front desk closes about 4-5 p.m., so if you arrive after that make sure to contact them. Very clean. Very nice staff.

The location was terrific. Our room was a bit tired; there was no door on the shower/sink portion of the bathroom and water went into the hallway. But we were lucky to get the last room available on our dates. I’m sure the other rooms were a bit more modern.

3/5. Bottom floor is brutal since we were above the restaurant and patio. Lots of noise and smoke coming into our room. The room become very hot due to the fact we had to close it due to the noise and smoke. Breakfast was covered in flies as well.

This property is the iconic Swiss hotel with friendly staff and spectacular views. Our room was on the lowest floor but still had a Mountain View. However, it shared a public terrace instead of a private terrace, which was the case of the upper floors. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Very comfortable hotel, all of the staff were very welcoming. Room was a nice size, I had a balcony which was a nice plus. Bed was super cozy, bathroom was fine. Breakfast was nice, had dinner one night and it was good. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the train station and a 1 minute walk to the cable car. Plenty of hiking from Murren but also access to plenty of options in the valley.

Spectacular balcony views from our room. Hotel check in/out done by 2 different gentleman that were super friendly and helpful. Room was small with only one plug. Twin beds were maybe 8” apart but so easy to put up with for those excellent views. Breakfast was only cold things, nothing hot. Ample choices.

Booked a room for 3 adults including an extra bed. That extra bed was a cot meant for children with an incredibly thin mattress and feet hanging off. You could feel each slat and was extremely uncomfortable. you can hear the cable car run all day and night from your room with the windows open, so don't expect a quiet atmosphere. For 300 CHF per night we expected a lot better.

Our room was spacious with an incredible Mountain View and large outdoor balcony. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Great place to stay if you’re in that part of Switzerland.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Alpenruh!! Cannot say enough about this beautiful area! We had a perfect balcony looking across at the Monch Eiger and Jungfrau - you cannot beat that! Was so fun to see it at all times of the day and night. The room was spacious and very comfortable and it is right next to the Cable car, so very convenient for travelling the area and we were not bothered by any noise. We also had a wonderful dinner in their restaurant!

The hotel staff was very friendly and held my bag after check out since I planned to stay in town into the afternoon. I got to breakfast toward the end so it was a bit limited- get there early! And there was no AC so my room was a bit warm at first but at night it cooled down. There’s no bad spot to stay in Mürren, the town is very small and cute. The back side of the hotel has great views of the mountains. But it’s good to note that this hotel is the farthest one on the main street of town so it’s about a 10-12 minute walk from the train to get there. There’s limited dinner options in town that have kitchens that stay open late (including the hotel restaurant) so make sure to sit down somewhere by 8-8:30 at the latest.

This hotel is like an old cabin. Spectacular views all around. Good breakfast. I didn’t try the restaurant for dinner. My room was on the top floor with a little balcony. Tiny bathroom. Comfy bed. No fridge or mini bar.

Amazing location in car-free Murren. Kind of frustrating when staff did not answer their phone for hours and hours the day before our arrival as we had questions on logistics of cable car needed to access hotel. But it all turned out well- we enjoyed our room and the convenience of dinner and breakfast in the hotel. Staff gave us great recommendations for one of the best hikes of my life❤️

The staff was very friendly at the hotel . The hotel was very clean! I was a little put off by how noisy the area was. Construction noise started first thing every morning. My room was located close to the restaurant. A couple of nights, there was so much noise coming from the restaurant ( 2 am), it woke me up. The breakfast buffet was awesome and the lady that tended to the buffet was very friendly! I had a rude experience at the restaurant one evening. I had previously come in the night before without a reservation but the night afterwards was told they were closed unless I had a reservation. At 7 pm ? I counted 9 empty tables. I was not even given a chance to order take away. It was obvious they did not want my business! I walked up the street and found a wonderful place that was willing to serve me and TAKE MY MONEY!

We were not given the room that was requested through Expedia. Instead we were given a smaller room with a shared patio that had a smoker on one side and a guest from another room standing in front of our window. We had to keep our curtains closed the whole time and felt very uncomfortable. The hotel management couldn’t have cared less. Also, the restaurant staff was rude and unprofessional. They even gave back incorrect change. That is theft. Again hotel staff couldn’t have cared less. All they do is give you a fake smile but don’t solve any issues. Apparently as long as they get the money they are content. I can not recommend this hotel.

The location was great, it is located next to the lift for Schilthorn. Free breakfast. Mountain view from our balcony. The only complaint is the dining option, you have to make reservations and the staff in the restaurant were not kind at all and just rude. We went to Hotel Jungfrau and had a wonderful dinner and listened to live music, no reservations needed. We liked Hotel Alpenruh but would not stay there again.

The hotel is a fairly long walk from the train station, but it's an easy one. The hotel is just next to the cable car to Schilthorn, which is great. The front desk closes about 4-5 p.m., so if you arrive after that make sure to contact them. Very clean. Very nice staff.

Breakfast was nice, had dinner one night and it was good. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the train station and a 1 minute walk to the cable car. Plenty of hiking from Murren but also access to plenty of options in the valley.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Alpenruh!! Cannot say enough about this beautiful area! We had a perfect balcony looking across at the Monch Eiger and Jungfrau - you cannot beat that! Was so fun to see it at all times of the day and night. The room was spacious and very comfortable and it is right next to the Cable car, so very convenient for travelling the area and we were not bothered by any noise. We also had a wonderful dinner in their restaurant!

It is a beautiful hotel at a town that is like a fairy tale. We had a room with the Mountain View and lucked out to have 2 sunny days. The hotel is very central to several walking trails, train and gondola stations. Breakfast was fine although did not have any hot/warm options. But great bread cheese fruit etc. We ate dinner twice at the hotel - the food was good. The hotel is highly recommended.

The hotel staff was very friendly and held my bag after check out since I planned to stay in town into the afternoon. I got to breakfast toward the end so it was a bit limited- get there early! And there was no AC so my room was a bit warm at first but at night it cooled down. There’s no bad spot to stay in Mürren, the town is very small and cute. The back side of the hotel has great views of the mountains. But it’s good to note that this hotel is the farthest one on the main street of town so it’s about a 10-12 minute walk from the train to get there. There’s limited dinner options in town that have kitchens that stay open late (including the hotel restaurant) so make sure to sit down somewhere by 8-8:30 at the latest.

3/5. Bottom floor is brutal since we were above the restaurant and patio. Lots of noise and smoke coming into our room. The room become very hot due to the fact we had to close it due to the noise and smoke. Breakfast was covered in flies as well.

Great customer service! The receptionist were so nice and explained different hiking trails near the property. If you want to wake up with a beautiful picturesque mountain view right from your window this is the hotel for you! Delicious breakfast every morning with a view!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, but small. The Swiss breakfast buffet was fine, however, there were flies and bees everywhere--in the food on the buffet and a total nuisance at the table. There was a bee that got stuck in the jam jar. I would have liked to have the automatic coffee machine available 24/7 as it had been at our other stays in Switzerland. When I asked if I could walk in the breakfast area and get a cup of coffee at 8:30pm from the automatic coffee machine I was told "no". This was a little disappointing. However, staying in the village of Murren was a great choice. It was way less crowded than Lauterbrunnen. Murren was a cute car-less village. I did not realize that it is located on the top of the mountain and that no cars are allowed. It was easy to park in Stechelberg and take the cable car up to the village. The parking was expensive, but that goes with everything else in Switzerland.

Really enjoyed our 3-night stay in Mürren! The hotel was a very short walk from the cable car. Staff was very friendly especially the cat Pompous! Room was small but very adequate plus it had a terrace with amazing views. Had breakfast (included) there every day and 2 dinners and everything was delicious. Would definitely stay there again.
