Hotel Casa Capsa

A very grand building, in a convenient location, but the grandeur felt rather faded. Evocative period feel, but disappointing that there were so few guests - not the fault of the hotel, but more guests would have helped the atmosphere.

Nær gamlebyen med vakre kafeer og diverse restauranter. Ikke bruk taxi hvis du har en dagtid flyvning tilbake til hjemlandet ditt, da det er trafikkork og reisen tar 2 timer og 15 minutter. Regningen vil også tredobles for denne turen. Ta heller metro til flytoget.

The hotel is very well situated. It has a nice café and chocolaterie. The hotel has a nice lobby and the staff is welcoming. The area is safe. The room was quite small and the air conditioning was problematic. The shower was ackward. The twin beds were comfy but it was difficult to keep the room cool and comfortable. The fridge did not work properly ( we requested a change and the new fridge made no difference). The safe was very small and placed very low as you could not access it. The carpet in the room was not ideal.

This is a good three and at best a four star hotel. Like most hotels in Bucharest there were no food or dining options. Breakfast was empty and not even set up. No doorman or staff help. When I asked for more water they said go to the cafe and buy some. The cafe couldn’t figure out how to fix their cash register. So no extra water. This was October so off season? It’s nice and traditional and I enjoyed the authentic decor of an old Bucharest hotel. But not a five star.

This hotel is 175 years old and impecably maintained. It was like living in a palace complete with its own chocolatier. Quiet rooms, friendly staff, central location. We would return here in the future.

Delightful hotel just on the outskirts of the Old Town. One of the oldest hotels in the city and very traditional in style. Loved it!

This hotel still has atmosphere, but mainly due to the coffee and cake shop where the most fantastic people are always ready to give you an outstanding experience. The hotel and the rooms are worn down.

Can not fault. Staff were friendly and welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and well kept. Shower had great water pressure. Location was perfect.

We stayed 3 nights. Night staff gentleman was tired, no smile. Lady at front desk reception was very helpful the following Day & nights. Housekeeping was excellent! Keeping toiletries refilled and bed made everyday. Wonderful architecture, beautiful hotel. Location was very good for walking to sights around old town visited Caru Cu Bere beer hall, for lunch it was excellent.

Casa Capsa was a fantastic place to stay, the beds were clean and comfortable, the rooms pristine. The shower was a little finniky, the water pressure was so high it made the showerhead come to life and soak the entire floor. And it was good that the weather was so hot, as the showers took an age to warm up, the cold showers were welcome. The room came equipped with a tea and coffee station, but the kettle had nowhere to plug in unless moved beside the bed, and the milk pods were out of date on arrival. But! The hotel staff were polite and concise, and the place was stunning throughout.

While advertised as a 5-star hotel, my recent experience unfortunately did not meet expectations for service or room quality. Upon check-in, the room had not been thoroughly cleaned from the previous guests, with objects left behind including a stuffed animal, which created an unsettling environment. The carpet was extremely dusty and there was a musty smell, indicating the room had not been well cared for. During our hotel restaurant reservation, we were initially refused seating by a rude waiter for no reason and only after speaking with a manager were we able to be seated. The room's bathroom had several concerning maintenance issues - the bathtub leaked substantially on the floor during use to the point we had to use all the existing towels to mop up the water. The bathwater was also yellow in color when first run (see picture). We requested two additional clean towels from housekeeping given the flooding issues but when checking out, the front desk employee Florian accused us of stealing them and charged us inappropriately. Given these cleanliness, maintenance and customer service issues, I cannot recommend staying here until standards improve. For the price paid, I expected better care and hospitality. Please see attached photos documenting some of the problems encountered during my stay. Management should address these types of lapses to provide guests with a more positive 5-star experience fitting of the hotel's luxury rating and pricing.

Well placed old hotel that badly needs maintenance. Unfortunately not a 5 star establishment. Bathroom was small, with the cheapest Home Depot quarter-circle plastic shower that barely lets you turn around. The hair dryer worked on one speed only, the original white plastic case was yellowed by time and cracked by heat (no problem in a 3-star establishment but not in a 5 star). The carpet outside is in bad need of replacement, stained and looking…unclean. The carpet inside…can’t tell because of poor lighting conditions. The room fridge not working. The room safe out of battery. The coffee maker’s cable too short to reach the closest AC outlet. 23” TV was fantastic 30 years ago… Must I continue?

Good stay but the 5-star hotel does not feel like a 5-star. Opening the room door with the key card is a hit and miss process (it opens eventually). The shower door does not close properly. The light in the room is not as bright as some would wish for. Otherwise Capsa is a good choice for a nice hotel as central as possible in Bucharest.

Rummet saknade vanliga fönster så man kunde inte kolla ut. Det var fönster i taket. Wifi fungerade inte i rummet. Detta hotell marknadsförs som femstjärnigt, men standarden är långt därifrån. Jämför man det med Sverige så är det som ett dåligt skandic-hotell.

Struttura in se carina ma d'inverno se vi capita una stanza all'interno senza finestra che si affaccia all'esterno è un forno..temperature oltre i 30 gradi..

入口がちょっと分かりづらい。ホテルに向かって右手側に回り込んだ所にあります。 他のルーマニアの都市で泊ったホテルはいずれもフロント係の愛嬌が良かったが、このホテルはちょっと機械的な対応で、首都故の硬さなのかなあと思ったり。（愛想のよい人もいましたが、全く笑わない人も…） 部屋の内装は昔の調度品のように豪勢なのですが、それゆえやや重苦しい雰囲気に感じるかも。また、バスルームが狭く、トイレに座ると脚が洗面台にぶつかったり、バスタブから少しでもお湯をこぼすとバスルーム全体が水浸しになってしまうなどの問題あり。 また、備え付けのヘアドライヤーは後ろの部分が破損しており、誤って指を入れてしまったら大怪我をする可能性があります。これを放置しているのはどうなのでしょうか… 近くにレストランやスーパーもあり立地は悪くないですが、「国民の館」などの観光地までは20分程度歩く必要があります。 朝食も悪くはないですが、5つ星ホテルというほどのクオリティではなく、4つ星ホテルくらいに考えておくべきかもしれません。 ただ、本来12時チェックアウトの所、体調が悪いのでレイトチェックアウトさせてくれないか頼んだところ、無料で1時半まで居させてくれたのは感謝しています。（無論、いつでもそのような対応をしてくれるわけでは無いでしょうが、その時非常に体調が悪かったため大変助かりました） 総じて悪いホテルではないのですが、5つ星というクオリティではないかもしれません。4つ星くらいに思っておけば納得できるはず。

Extremely bad attitude from reception and hotel manager. I have not used the reservation due to a loud wedding in the hotel, I checked out after less than one hour and they refused to refund my money.

The help I received at the reception desk was truly amazing on 19/05/24 (morning shift). 2 fantastic people made all the difference to my stay, going well beyond to help me out with my luggages and to get at the airport on time. Thank you so much, you both deserve 5stars for kindness and everything you did to help. I genuinely enjoyed and appreciate everything Casa Capsa had to offer!

Book it! I thought i would be a little disappointed being not in old town directly but turns out this was perfectly and centraly located to EVERYTHING! Seriously, a perfect location.

A charming hotel that has a lot of old-world charm. Rooms are nicely appointed and the bedding/beds are comfortable. The Manager and front desk staff are pleasant and professional. The hotel is centally located on a main street close to the old town, a variety of restaurants, as well as museums.

I love that this is in the heart of Old Bucharest. Everything is within walking distance.

This is a grand old hotel that has seen better days. The carpets were clean, but badly stained and worn in places. The front desk was helpful. The breakfast was minimal as there seemed to be very few guests in the hotel.

Ringe service fra receptionen ved sent ankomst og afgang. Personen var træt og ugidelig. Bestil ikke morgenmaden, den er ikke værd for pengene og bliver ikke fyldt op.

Stayed here with my MIL on a trip to Bucharest and we loved this hotel. It is slightly dated but still in good condition. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with all amenities required (including a kettle!). Breakfast was a highlight - The selection was huge and all very tasty.

The hotel was at a very central location. It was a nice historical building. Room decoration was very good and comfortable. However, although the breakfast must have been open buffet, just they put a very poor breakfast plate in front of us. It was terrible. So I demanded a refund for breakfast. They told me to write an email about this. I will write and email to the hotel management. But I am not sure if the refund will be done.
