Fun for all ages. 3 outdoor pools one indoor pool and the playground and aracde were great. Definitely worth it for a getaway and lots to do out on the lake etc.

August 2025 stay: Some of the staff were very kind and helpful. There was an associate working the front desk who we unfortunately got every time. She was difficult to hear and seemed annoyed at everything. The pool is small for the amount of guests with not nearly enough chairs. The “beach” is the same. The dining options are limited with kids in my opinion. But Huntsville is close. We had pets with us (love how pet friendly it is) and could only stay in a certain building which impacted our visit as there wasn’t a lake view. The balcony was in rough shape. The room itself was comfortable and clean. Overall if you can get a good rate it is a decent place to take kids ages 6 and over. The pavilion needs to be renovated. Broken window treatments, peeling wall coverings, etc.

The lake is beautiful. The room was clean. The buffet dinner was very nice. The beach area is very small. Too many people and kids. Not enough chairs. Not enough kayaks. The beach area was not kept clean. Geese poop everywhere. The outdoor pools are very small and again very overcrowded with kids. Staff do not check the rooms. Items I forgot were taken from my room. Never go again.

It is a great place to stay, but not enough staff. We didn’t have enough towels, no bath mat available so we had to use our towels to dry the floor. There weren’t enough staff at the pool area, pple were coming with outdoor shoes around the pool, pool towels were so small. It was an average facility. We won’t try this place anymore, it was expensive compared to the service.

Expensive buffet, no other options for breakfast on site. Good evening restaurants. No cleaning service for our room. There were 3 of us, only 2 towels, 2 water bottles. I wouldn’t normally be so harsh but when you pay over 400$ for a room you expect it to be top notch. Great location though!

I was very disappointed with my stay. The room was dirty, with dog toys left on the floor, and the so-called balloon room was extremely unclean. The washroom had not been properly cleaned, and one of the towels even had blood and hair on it. A pillow was also in poor condition. When I went downstairs to speak with the reception staff, their response was unprofessional—they simply said they could clean the room but nothing more could be done. Because of this experience, I will never return to this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone.

This hotel in its day was top notch. It is getting tired and needs some attention to certain areas. Our shower had black areas between the tiles and we loved the outdoor patio but the ceiling/roof needs replacing.

Deerhurst Resort has so many fun activities and the overall experience was great! We really enjoyed everything there was to do. The only downside was the rooms, they just weren’t very clean, which was a bit disappointing.

Check in was terrible, staff not very friendly-room was not ready on time at 4pm they told us would call us when it was ready. We sat in the lobby and then went over again to check if our room was ready yet and they said oh yes, it’s ready…We just forgot to call you, while we were sitting there the whole time!! The balcony was covered in mould and cobwebs, the room was very dated. Pillows are also super thick and not comfortable. The pool was nice though.

The activities are awesome. The grounds are not well kept, there are weeds everywhere. Our room had ripped curtains and cobwebs. Baseboard in hallway was held on with duct tape.

During my stay of 3 nights .. toilet was out of power twice, 2nd times happened , Calling Front desk, no one answered, btw… we found spider and mosquito in our room, the hotel just not clean enough

Overall the resort was very nice. Lots of amenities for the kids. Rock climbing, arcade, indoor playground, outdoor activities and pool. We stayed at the bayshore, waterfront room but the hotel was very outdated and dusty. The screen door to the balcony lookout looked like it had not been cleaned for months. Cobwebs were all over the screen and a ton of spider eggs were in the awning. When you entered the hotel room, it spelt musty like an old attic. The bayshore is an older building. The other building on the resort looked much nicer.

Big rooms. A little jaded. Clean room. Lighting could be better. Needed more electronics charging points besides side table. Could do with additional pillows as the one provided was good but a little too high to sleep on for the entire night.

Beds were very hard and hurt my back, Even though the hotel was not full we received a room right by the exit door so heard people exiting the hallway whenever they left. Restsurants food was delicious stay in paviliion not bayshore if u want to use the pool and not freeze on the way back to the hotel.

We stayed in the Bayshore and the rooms are beyond tired ! They are not at all what I would expect for a resort of this caliber. 3 Star chains have more current rooms. We weren’t given a wrist band so didn’t know we could use the outdoor pool. No internet code given No way to steam music Completely outdated

There was no daily room cleaning service. You probably need to specifically ask for it. Upper floors of Bayshore building don’t have balconies, so if you are set on balcony or a patio, you can request lower floors.

Nice property. The pool area which we came for wasn't the cleanest. Stuff floating in the bottom of the pool, long hairs all over the pool deck, and very foamy hot tub. Room walls are paper thin as we had neighbours partying both nights around us until 3 in the morning and could hear everything.

Rooms are spacious but tired and need to be updated. Leaving only one bar of soap at sink and none in shower not sufficient. Asked for water and was told to go to bar to be charged almost $8.00 is inappropriate.

Checking in took longer than normal as their were only 2 people working Saturday. Shuttle service was questionable, weather was bad but should have been told it wasn't working instead of making me wait more than an hour outside. Called them multiple times and they had several opportunities to let me know but made me wait. Staff Sunday were not friendly especially the lady working Sunday night. Gave me the attitude that they were annoyed with my questions. Food prices overpriced noticed increase in price from the menu than what's on the restaurant websites.

Not a huge presence of staff. Building are dated We didn’t know there was another kids area down a hall until the day we left and it wasn’t open. Could use more signs. Movie night they didn’t have snacks for everyone. Our room never got cleaned. We would give it another try.

I called before I went to resort to ensure dog friendly and was told no issue. Get onsite and sai no dogs in the room you booked through expedia. Also restauraunt was supposed to call me back to extend my reservation and know one did. Poor organizing and lack off caring

Found it quite odd that we left room for the day and ...room service didn't clean or make beds or gave us towels or emptied our trash......was told we should have told front desk when we left to clean our room......this is a big resort first time I have run into this situation.....Television in room was something that would have been good for viewing 15-20 years ago...old and around 27 inches.....movies on demand 24.99 rip off get them at home free.....breakfast for four of us ran 150.00...30.00 per person plus tax and of course tip.....dining they had a buffet starting at 49.95 per person family of 4 easily 300.00 dollars for a meal....of course have too throw in a tip....Little tiny fridge can fit comfortably 4 bottles of water lol.....4 of us we drink a lot more water than that on a hot day. If you decide to use a vending machine have a credit card ready...3.00 for a small bag of chips.....4 bucks for a water....and have to keep using credit card for each purchase.....before leaving ask if there is an ice machine in the building anywhere ....was told there was one on our floor....I walked many times up and down the floor hallways.....it was in a small room with a tiny table reading ice on the door....of course I missed it there's only a 100 doors in the hallway. I found a lot of people wandering around especially if you have young adults....resort should plan activities....or lol....I guess I should have asked......didn't sleep well pillows to small....tried to watch tv

Check in was terrible, staff not very friendly-room was not ready on time at 4pm they told us would call us when it was ready. We sat in the lobby and then went over again to check if our room was ready yet and they said oh yes, it’s ready…We just forgot to call you, while we were sitting there the whole time!! The balcony was covered in mould and cobwebs, the room was very dated. Pillows are also super thick and not comfortable. The pool was nice though.

Old and dated. Staff untrained and appeared to be young students or foreigners in training. Language issues. 2 hrs wait for room. Once in, broken hair blower, no glasses or cups for coffee machine. Pool towels worse in the world.

Went for a girls weekend and had a great time. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and made us feel welcomed and answered any questions that we had. The room was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the dining options too! Our only concern was that there was a hockey tournament, so the pool and hot tub were full of kids, so we didn’t get to enjoy that amenity, no fault of the resort. Definitely going back next year to make this an annual tradition.

We loved the location, the waterfront, and the landscaping (especially the flowers). We fully enjoyed swimming in the pool on a rainy day. The location is close enough to Huntsville to go shopping and see various Group of Seven displays.

Been to the resort for second time. The resort and rooms are clean. Plenty of things at the resort. Restaurants in the resort serve good food, it is on expensive side but worth the money. If need be Huntsville downtown is close by to drive by or order food.

The building we stayed in was dated and there was no hot water and barely an apology. Only 1 restaurant, the Compass, was open during our stay and they seemed surprised that we wanted to eat dinner.

Expensive buffet, no other options for breakfast on site. Good evening restaurants. No cleaning service for our room. There were 3 of us, only 2 towels, 2 water bottles. I wouldn’t normally be so harsh but when you pay over 400$ for a room you expect it to be top notch. Great location though!

Great trip for the family. The only negative was the food. The restaurants in the resort are pricey for what you get. The quality of the food was just okay and doesn’t merit the cost. Luckily there are lots of great options in Huntsville.

Resturants close around 11 on weekend. They should be open late considering town is a bit far. If resturant opening is a problem then have convenient store open late for snacks. Currently, it closes around 9pm

The front staff was not quite friendly on the day we arrived but on the other days they'd appeared friendly and helpful. There was no place to get a coffee in the hotel and the outside coffee place was not open on Tuesday and the quality of the coffee was poor. The front outdoor pool was okay but the area around it needed a facelift. The eclipse restaurant was not a restaurant but a buffet. Overly priced and not worth the money. The rooms, the bed, the carpet, the curtains, and the bathroom all needed a renovation. Very outdated and not clean. I could not even sleep one night because of the entire ambiance!

The room was spacious and the beds incredibly comfortable. We were able to have our room close to the elevator to reduce the amount of walking for my elderly travel partners. The shuttle service onsite was first class in move us around the beautiful resort when requested. overall great stay.

it's a beautiful property to stay in, however for the price per night we expected a bit more. To begin with the whole property wasn't very accible for a stroller. I can only imagine it would be much worse if you had a wheel chair. No complimentary breakfast at all, you did get complimentary non alcoholic drinks but for 2 hours only in the lobby and it was just out of a dispenser. The ice machine near our room constantly ran out of ice and it seems it was the only one available. No room service is offered you have to physically go to one of the restaurants or bars to get food or drinks. No help with baggage offered, it's a self do system. We just expected a bit for how much they charge per night. We have stayed at much cheaper hotels that offer more than this place.

Not for anyone but people with kids or dogs. Room like a Comfort Inn. Dogs barking. Lawnmower at 8 am. Facilities long walk or shuttle. One pool closed. Will not return.

Kamer was schoon. Gebouw van kamers elders op terrein, hierdoor steeds shuttle of auto moeten nemen voor ontbijt. Bar was niet altijd open, dus ook voor drinken moesten we op pad. Prima lokatie voor als je graag actief bezig wilt zijn met golf kano of iets anders.
