The room was clean and had plenty of space. The location was super convenient. However, the elevator was very slow and at times out of service, so we had to carry our luggage down the stairs. With the exception of the pool staff, everyone else was very friendly and helpful. The pool was uncomfortably cold- colder than any other hotel pool we’ve experienced in BC. When I mentioned it, the pool staff just brushed it off and said it was “normal,” which was surprising- especially since it’s way too cold for little kids.

For a hotel of this scale , the pool area is hire small, hot tubs were not hot and no jets Walls are a little thin However the rooms are beautiful and the staff is amazing both front desk and restaurant

The pool was full of insects, as it is outdoors, which is expected; however, it wasn't being cleaned. The volume on our room's TV was not working. Contacted the front desk, and they got back to me about 40 minutes later. We were asleep by then. There is only one elevator location, which is very inconvenient when you have to drag your luggage and kids to your room, located at the other end of the hallway.

Good facilities with tuning room for snowboard and ski equipments, staff are super friendly. Swimming pool and hot tub are clean, but not very hot. Room is clean and spacious, love that it has a small round table for eating and a small desk.

Great hotel in the middle of town by the gondolas. Shops and restaurants right outside the hotel, the hotel also has a restaurant. Rooms are spacious, super comfie bed, nespresso machine. Great swimming pool and spa pools and well equipped gym. Also dog friendly. Only downside is the expensive onsite parking.

Beautiful spot, clean comfortable room. Great bed, and quiet. Had an excellent sleep. The outdoor hot tubs are so wonderful. Definitely a relaxing getaway.

Great location, everything within walking distance. Parking is expensive, seems like gouging! For a hotel with over 200 rooms, it seems ridiculous that the pool would only have 10 loungers and they won't let you bring a lawn chair to the area to sit in. What a joke! Elevators are painfully slow and on top of that, one wasn't working...

Not the cleanest - some hairs left in shower, sink and on bathroom floor, pink mold on most of the tile and grout in the shower (a little bleach can go a long way in cleaning this and making guests feel as though the place was actually cleaned.) The place had a lot of charm in its decor, beds were comfortable. We had a fire alarm during our stay which I have to say went pretty smoothly and even though inconvenient, it was handled very well… made me feel safe. The staff was very kind and helpful.

The room was lovely. Modern and clean, and had everything that you needed. We did however, feel that the reception area and other areas around the hotel needed attention. The chairs in reception were extremely tired and dirty. They didn't appear to have enough staff in the hotel. Although we arrived early, we waited quite a while for them to prepare our room- in fact we had to ask a few times. Maybe it would be better in peak season?

The hallways had garbage on them all weekend. No attempt was made to clean them. The shower curtain had hair stuck to it and the toilet didn’t flush properly. The lamp beside the bed flickered like a strobe light. They bill you $25/day to park and there are no lower cost or free options. The breakfast in the hotel is $28 for adults and $14 for kids. There are no microwaves in the rooms which forces you to eat out. The restaurant was supposed to open at 11:30 for lunch, so we waited 20 minutes for that to happen only to be told (rudely) that it would be open at noon.

I fear there are too many drawbacks to this hotel! We did not have a good experience! We had issues with everything from hundreds of bugs on the first night in our room which needed to be fumigated, with soiled stains on both the covers and the mattress on the sofa bed, to not enough towels for the 4 of us. Plus’s no pool access available during our stay. While they “tried” to fix them, offering free parking and some credit towards breakfast….taking over 2 hours for 2 extra towels was too long for us and was our last straw. If they had truly wanted to fix things, it would have been a priority! We decided to check out of our room a day early. There was nothing “GRAND” about our stay! We would definitely not recommend this hotel, especially for those with children! The average age for the clientele is 60 due to coach tours and the hotel is getting tired. After 3 weeks travelling around Canada this is the worst hotel, we have experienced!

While it’s an older resort, it’s still quite clean and rooms have been renovated. If your room has a connecting door to the neighbor, it hardly has any sound barrier so it was quite noisy due to the folks next door.

The room and bed were fantastic. The staff members were very helpfull and couteous. There are 3 elevators. 1 was out of order for our entire stay (4 nights) and one of the others was down for a day as well. This made for a bit of a wait at peak times. The pool was occasionally in need of skimming and it was rare that all 3 hot tubs were functioning at the same time. All minor issues. The most annoying issue was that the thermostat in the room would not stay on the setting we wanted it. Everytime we left the room we would return to a hot room. We also kept waking up to the room being too warm after a few hours of sleep every night. Overall, a very pleasant weekend.

Village was just picture postcard Alpine Village. Was summer and weather really good with our room with clear views of mountainside, and slopes. Hotel was excellent and very clean, with large comfortable King sized bed. Tea and coffee machine in room as well as safe and fridge good quality soapd and loads of towels. Helpful, friendly staff with an easy check in process. Plenty of walks and shops despite being end of season also plenty to see and do. Must be amazing in the winter season with the snow and skiing.

The property is very nice. Reminds us of the Weston in Whistler. We arrived in early October and the area is very quiet with many restaurants closed until ski season. One major negative. The resort does not provide access to TSN or Sports Net. Given that the MLB playoffs are underway this is extremely disappointing.

Help with the luggage and valet parking was available, which is unusual for most hotels these days. They even cleaned the car windows before delivering the car for our onward journey. Check-in was a little slow, as only one person was handling several customers at a desk for club members. There was no one at the front desk, but a few minutes later, another staff member showed up and helped a customer at the front desk. When we got to the room, our luggage had already been delivered. Very convenient to get to the lifts, modern and updated rooms. Ski valet was very slow though, staff sleepily wandered around looking for skis before I just went back and grabbed my own. Also took a very long time to get my car back from the valet even though no one else was waiting. I’d still stay there again, but recommend you allow a lot of time to get your skis and car.

My family has stayed at the grand hotel in Sun Peaks many times before. It is located in a beautiful mountain setting and the hotel itself is beautiful as well. My family was extremely disappointed with the service this time however starting with being double or triple charged for our rooms confusion among the staff at the reception, lack of training of the new staff, who obviously was lost dealing with some very basic booking and checking in procedures. We stayed for three nights at three different rooms and at one point all our stuff was moved out of our rooms by staff by their mistake. The staff at check in were incredibly rude. We were locked out from the parking garage, they hit us with parking fees that were not advertised and there is literally no one else on property and they tried to say they didn’t have a clean room available. Very disappointed. Won’t be returning.

Perfect location close to the main ski lifts. Book in advance for the restaurant, if you want to eat there. It's okay, but generally restaurants get pretty busy in Sun Peaks at the weekend. Hotel is nice, but has all the usual issues of a ski hotel that gets a lot of wear and tear. Overall, would definitely recommend.

The rooms were huge and well maintained. Cleaning staff did an excellent job. We did not have a view from our room so I cannot comment on that. Pool hot tub area is starting to show its age but everything was clean and there was plenty of towels available. Dinner and drinks at Mantle’s was excellent. We plan to come back to ski this winter.

Three day visit booked before we knew the ski lifts were opened. Hotel upgraded from a delux king with mountain view to a Kibg toom mountain view with a balcony. However we had some issues. The sole restaurant Mantles wasnt the best of food choices and the online menu we looked at didnt match the 3 menus when we ate at during breakfast, lunch and dinner. One dinner meal for each of us was not good so we returned it and choose another meal at another hotel. They didnt charge us and there wasnt many other dinner items that ws liked.However the last night we both had the strip loin steak which was very good. We had a nice evening and had a free dessert. In addition the draft beer taps in Mantles, the sole bar and restaurant in this hotel, were not working.

Service was very good as was the overall hotel. The restaurant Mantles, that was another story completely. It was horrible. The service was decent and the servers very apologetic - not their fault the food was awful, the wrong temperature and timing just brutal. An hour and a half for still frozen fish & cold scallops. Luckily the service manager was apologetic. First time in my life I have sent back food. Do not eat at Mantles.

My only complain would be there is no room service. I would have really loved to have breakfast in bed and they unfortunately serve breakfast only till 10:30pm but, other than that I loved the hotel.

Room was great, location good. The restaurant staff did not have their act together. A bus of tourists had recently checked in and staff could not even serve everyone. Staff should be fully aware of how many guests are checking into a hotel and be prepared for the number of people that will be using their dining facilities.

Check in staff friendly & professional. We paid the $33 a day for hotel parking, as there appears to be only paid overnight parking in Sun Peaks village (even though the resort was very quiet in the shoulder season between summer & winter ski). Room was comfortable and spacious, comfortable bed & good shower. Had buffet breakfast one morning, good choice of food and attentive staff. Unfortunately the indoor leisure facilities were closed during our stay due to renovation. Liked Sun Peaks as a resort, gondola open and walking trails up top.
