Got stuck in the one and only working elevator. Had to pry doors open myself to get out. Not cool at all.

Front steps were terribly dirty. The outdoor carpeted stairs hadn’t been cleaned in this century. Cigarette butts and garbage allover the place. In the room the sliding glass door did not have a working lock. A thin aluminum bar was the only thing keeping it closed. Not to mention the huge puddle in the parking lot that has been there for the years, get it fixed. Take pride in the beautiful hotel and good lord have someone pressure wash the front steps and make it look presentable.

Nice rooms, beautiful property. The pool was clean and the water was nice and warm. Adjoining rooms accommodated our family perfectly.

This is the second time we have stayed here. Very accommodating, clean and totally enjoyed the pool and sauna

Entrances have not been cleaned for ages. Cigarette butts all over the place. Very dirty cement.

Nice hotel close to airport with 24 hrs shuttle service

The airport shuttle was spot on!

The inside of the hotel was upgraded but the immediate area outside the front entrance, including the steps, needed a facelift and a good cleaning. It was very dirty with cigarette butts all over.

The rooms were clean and large and well worth what we paid. We also enjoyed the free shuttle to and from the airport. However, the lobby and halls were filthy. We stayed on the 4th floor and there was food, cigarette butts and a broken beer bottle next to our room. The elevator was gross too.

Have stayed here many times. This time the hotel lobby and hallways were disgustingly dirty. There were blankets and garbage under the stairs by back entrance. In the morning we had no water the city had shut it off.

Room smelled like cat urine. I had to leave the patio door open for a few hours for the smell to come down a bit. The bathroom towels had stains on them. I didn’t even shower because it was so nasty. Looked like they had dumped the dirty mop water in the toilet bowl and they didn’t even flush, so when I open it, surprise surprise. There were food crumbs on the floor, very noticeable ones. Horrible stay.

Overall a good stay, lots of parking and helpful staff. Room was mostly clean - floors were a bit dirty but nothing crazy.

Hallways were very dirty and was very noisy.

Very clean rooms, comfy beds, and excellent sfaff, from the hotel through to the restaurant. We love staying at the Valhalla and will be back again.

Couldn't take shower before leaving as noticed hair in tub. Informed front desk and they told me they will notify housekeeper and this it. Can't give me another room as they're sold out. Even showed a picture

Rooms were clean and at night it was quiet. The staff were friendly. Thank you to all the people working there.

The room was very clean, but the lobby and hallways were disgusting. If we hadn’t prepaid, we would have turned around and left. Terrible first impression.

There was blood stains on pillow case and blood on bathroom door sils.

The walls and ceiling are paper-thin. We could hear our neighbour in the next room snoring and the kids in the room upstairs playing - starting at 630 AM on the dot every day. One of the reading lights was broken and the USB port wouldn't work. Lighting otherwise was horrible. The bed area was dark unless the curtains were open. The hand soap in the bathroom was replaced every single day which was weird and wasteful. Not worth the money.

The room was comfortable. One thing I was kinda upset about was not having a bath tub when I had specifically request one. The drain in the shower was so clogged they everything we showered it overflowed

Staff was great, room was fine, other than the door to the outside. It wouldn't latch right! As such, someone opened it one night, which scared the hell out of me. Room was clean, staff was nice, I'd just advise against one of the rooms with a door to the outside!

Vast improvement! The room was lovely- newly redecorated with clever features including a kitchenette. I will happily stay again. A small complaint is that the lighting and outlets near the bed were not working. Also- it would sure be nice to see the courtyard mowed and tidied up; it’s actually a nicely landscaped area but needs maintenance!

Stayed at this location twice. There is no sound proofing between rooms, you can hear other guests cough and entire conversations… The room was also set to 25C when we arrived with the heat blasting at the highest setting. Safe to say we were a bit warm at first…

It was absolutely amazing! We are from MN and we were touring the waterfalls from Gooseberry up to Thunder Bay. So Wednesday the day we were checking into Valhalla we had been doing a lot of hiking and ready to relax for the evening. We showed up about 9pm. Rinon at the front desk was very sweet and easy to talk to. He asked about our day what we had been doing, we told him about all of our hiking. He responded with your all checked in and you'll have a surprise in your room. Well he up graded us from a single king room to the jacuzzi sweet, We were so surprised we couldn't believe it. That was the topping on the cake of our 36th wedding anniversary trip we told Rinon later. It was a like a dream that kind of stuff doesn't happen to us. Thanks again Rinon you are the best!!!

I had a generally good stay at the hotel, clean rooms, comfortable bed, and a convenient location. However, I was disappointed by how they handled a billing issue. My card was charged twice, and when I brought it to their attention, the response felt dismissive. They acknowledged the mistake but didn’t seem eager to resolve it, just saying there wasn’t much they could do because it’s a weekend. It left a sour note on an otherwise pleasant visit. I’d recommend staying here, but be prepared for a less-than-proactive response if something goes wrong.

When we arrived we were greeted by a front desk attendant by the name of praise I believe and from the start she was nothing but rude, we had to wait an hour in the lobby because she said the the reservation had not yet come through, after an hour I went up to the desk and was greeted with yes I know your room is ready followed by an awful attitude and rude jabs that made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. After we headed to our room I ordered food to pick up from the lobby restaurant the salmon and rice. When I received it the rice was so hard I almost broke my tooth on a bite and had to take it back down to ask for a different side which they did make for me. While up in the room we noticed it was extremely dirty with large amounts of dirt surrounding the bed and a woman’s sanitary pad was stuck to the headboard which is by far the most disgusting thing I’ve experienced. At this point after having driven 12 hours that day had to wait in the lobby for an hour and return food I just needed sleep so decided to discuss it in the morning with the staff. When we went to the lobby to check out around 6am there was blood all over the lobby floor the front desk said there was an incident and police were called to deal with it but nothing else. They had said since I booked through hotels.com there was nothing they could do for me. I stay in dozens of hotels a year and have rarely ever complained but this was bar far the worst experience I’ve had from start to finish.

Check in was clunky. Rep couldn’t get the credit card machine to work. Seemed bothered to have to keep trying. Didn’t explain there is no housekeeping. Only after reading a tiny sign in the bathroom did I figure out it was every 3 nights. Nice room. Great restaurant. Decent location. But service was lacking for the price you pay. Will look for other options next time

Check in was really terrible. We got to the hotel about 5:45pm. There was a tourist group with 28 rooms trying to check in and were being told their rooms were not ready. While the front desk tried to check all their bags into their back room we were told to just wait. After about 30 mins we were finally booked into our room. When my son folded out the couch to get ready for sleeping on later we found it full of what I think was cereal. After going back to the desk they changed us to another room. At this point I had asked for bedding for the couch for a second time while returning our first set of keys. We headed out for dinner, returning two hours later still not bedding and I had to return to the front desk again. Maybe on a good day this hotels service would not have felt like a burning dumpster fire, but today was not that day.

Lovely hotel. Great staff. Asked for late checkout and was given one with no problem.

Check in was great the gentlemen was helping and polite. As for check out? The lady was very rude and seemed like she wanted us out, without causing a ruckus, we just packed and left way before checkout.

Das Hotel liegt verkehrsgünstig. Nahe zum Highway und Flughafen sowie zu nem Walmart und Starbucks. Gut war auch das kostenlose parken sowie im Haus befindliche Restaurant. Würd wieder dort nächtigen.

Beautiful rustic decor & amazing indoor pool. Great value for the money on the long weekend stay. Limited dining options nearby, you have to drive to the waterfront area for more choices. Housekeeping is limited to once per 3 nights stay, inconvenient if you are staying 2 or more days.

Room was good and clean, good location close to client and to airport

This is my go-to place to stay when in Thunder Bay. It's conveniently located steps from Walmart, Tim Horton's, and Enterprise car rental. It has a regular shuttle to and from the airport.

This hotel is beautiful. We were greeted with a quick registration. We received a credit voucher towards our dinner . We ordered from the restaurant and the food was awesome . The room is very clean and very quiet . After a long day driving this is the perfect resting place

Close to the airport, easy access to highway and surrounding businesses. Downfall, room did not get tidied while I was there for four nights. Garbage not emptied, towels not replaced. Only one restaurant, Timbers is closed.

Staying in Thunder bay for 2 nights. Really nice updated clean and open rooms (no carpet). Very clean and comfortable. Us and Canadian TV. Clean elevator and hallways. Staff friendly helpful and accommodating. Ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant - reasonable prices and good food! Excellent pancakes, eggs and burgers and soup. Deserts! Full bar at the restaurant and open long hours. Servers were great. Would definitely stay there again!

Room, bed and staff was great. HOWEVER the Skal Restaurant was extremely terrible - noisy clientele that was bothering the food experience, proportions of the food were below what should be paid way and pricing on the food was extremely high for the low quality dishes that came out; honestly ruined the rest of the experience

The reno is fantastic, and the place is really nice. The restaurant is horrendous. The food is under par, the staff are either far too eager, or completely ignore you. Honestly, eat somewhere else, it's not worth the time. The hotel otherwise is top notch.

We arrived late and thankfully the restaurant was still open. The food was great and a lot of items on the menu are cooked from scratch. The rooms were renovated post covid. Everything was great. Could hear people in the hall at night. We would definitely stay again. Staff were friendly.
