Very Disappointing Stay — Amenities Were Not as Advertised My experience at the Sheraton Birmingham was extremely disappointing, particularly because several of the amenities advertised online did not match what I actually encountered at the hotel. To start, the amenities listed on Hotels.com were seriously misleading based on my stay. An indoor pool was advertised, yet this hotel does not have a pool at all. If you want to swim, you apparently have to go to the neighboring hotel and ask about using their pool. That is absolutely not the same thing as a hotel having an indoor pool as an advertised amenity. The breakfast and parking situation were equally frustrating. I could not find the advertised restaurant offering a buffet-style breakfast. And as for parking, guests should know exactly what they are getting into: valet parking was $45 PER DAY. Yes, $45 a day just to park your vehicle. Otherwise, you have to park yourself in a third-party parking garage and then walk back to the hotel with your belongings. What made the parking situation even worse was the treatment I received while simply trying to unload my luggage. After I declined valet parking, I was rudely told that I could not remain there while unloading my belongings. I found that completely unreasonable and ignored the instruction long enough to unload my luggage. A paying hotel guest should be able to safely unload their belongings without being pressured into purchasing a $45-per-day valet service.

Bar was very expensive for one cocktail. Room was not clean as well as expected. Bathroom floors had uncleaned areas as well as the night stand was stain with food from previous guest.

So disappointed in this Sheraton Inn. The traffic noise made it very difficult to sleep. There was a noise cancelling machine in the room but even at the highest setting, the noise was unbearable. The food at the restaurant was very expensive and more like a tv dinner. The hotel overall needed a good cleaning and some updating. We’ve stayed at many Sheraton Inn’s around the country and always enjoyed the stay until this trip. Choose a different hotel if you can.
