We love the great breakfast selection, occasional fresh warm cookies in the lounge/dining area, and the bottled waters we were offered at check-in after traveling. The entire hotel has been recently updated and was very clean and pleasant

Our check in person was very helpful and accommodating and took great care of us. They were in renovation so still a little rough on the cleanup in hallways and elevators.

The staff were very friendly and professional which sadly is rare these days. The room was clean and I was particularly pleased with the bathroom and refrigerator. The only negative was the elevator made a weird noise everytime we used it. I was worried it might stop working each time we got on it.

The food was fine, room was nice. They are undergoing a renovation and one of the elevators was out of order which made going up and down to your room a longer process than normal. Staff was friendly.

I guess over all it was ok. We travel every 3 months to Birmingham for doctors appointments. This time this place was the cheapest in the area that I wanted to stay. The pool was small. The elevator was kind of scary. It was creaking noises every time we used it. Apparently only one elevator was working. The faucet in the bath tub was loose. Floor had not been mopped. Although the breakfast was good and a good variety of options.

The property is currently under renovation and it’s looking great. It’s a little noisy at times but not bad. The breakfast was nice and the lobby has all sorts of snacks and drinks…including adult beverages. Our king room was NICE! No carpet and the bathroom had new fixtures and shower. The room decor was fab.

Just an overnight stay traveling through town, but has to be one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. Really friendly staff. Next trip through town, I will definitely be staying again.

This was a very enjoyable stay. We were in town for my husband’s knee replacement surgery and the walk in shower with bench was perfect! The room was nice and clean and beds were pretty comfortable. The breakfast was huge and had everything you could think of (hot and cold). I highly recommend this hotel!

No hot water! Front desk indicated it went out at 5am. At 8:30 still waiting for maintenance to show up. Shame on hotel management for not having a service provider to take care of such an issue promptly.

We where driving through and needed to stop and rest for one night. I reserved and paid on Expedia when I arrived at midnight the clerk said she needed to run my card and told me my total was $169 (Expedia $197) I thought ok, came out a bit cheaper..something told me to check my bank and sure enough I had two charges, one for $197(expedia) and one for $169( Hampton Inn) went downstairs the clerk said she didn’t know anything to wait till the morning.. I go in the morning frat clerk tell me she has nothing to do with third party companies and to call them. I asked for a receipt for the Hampton inn charge she said we don’t give receipts. I sat down in the lobby and contacted Expedia they right there and then called Hampton inn there was some sort of mistake and I was refunded immediately by Expedia. The room was clean bed was clean mattress was new. The AC unit was pretty loud and as it ran there was a constant “tapping” sound so I wasn’t able to rest much.. breakfast was good. Eggs,potatoes,bacon, grits and all the traditional continental breakfast choices. Bottom line, I recommend this place as long as you keep on eye on the charges if you reserve on line.

Staff was very nice and hotel Was clean but they have serious maintenance issues. In the 12 hours we were there, we had 3 rooms. First one had a broken shower, second one had no hot water. Third was fine but we were only in it long enough to shower and leave.

I checked in late one evening. Got up early next morning and took a shower only to find shampoo dispenser empty. As I was leaving I brought it to the attention of front desk employee. Later that day when I came back it was still empty so I asked one of the girls cleaning rooms to please fill it up. Left and came back later that evening and it was still empty. Fortunately my daughter, who I was visiting loaned me some just in case. Also, Keurig K-cup coffee maker did not work. I will be visiting Birmingham a lot over the several years to see my new born granddaughter but will definitely not stay at The Hampton Inn!

Had to wait 10 plus minutes to check in became the front desk person was out on her phone. There were others waiting downstairs who were waiting for 10+ minutes to check in who were very frustrated. Then once she came in she was on her phone during the checking in process which took way longer than it needed to be. Outside of that the stay was pretty good.

The room was clean. Nice breakfast. The front desk clerk on Tuesday evening, the 28th, was very friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to bring batteries up to my room and put them in the remote for me.

The staff was excellent. My biggest complaint is we stayed 2 nights and were not given fresh face cloths and bath towels. I requested from the front desk and with housekeeping and both said they were out. I love Hilton properties but this made it hard.

Rented two rooms for two nights. First night the toilet quit flushing. The brought a plunger for us to use but never sent someone to repair the next day. Second room AC went out the second night. Had to move to another room at midnight. Desk clerk was rude and wouldn’t let us leave belongings even though we were checking out in a few hours. Demanded we move everything out. No one could’ve used the room. Terrible desk clerk.

The room was very clean. Staff very nice. Fluffy omelet for breakfast, grits, sausage, potatoes, biscuit and gravy. Sounds like the typical hotel breakfast, but this was done with care and quality, there was a noticeable difference. After arrival at hotel I receive a text from the front desk asking if the room was up to my expectations (my wording). Staff making sure I was comfortable or needed anything. What a nice touch! Highly recommend this hotel! I will be back for my future visits at Kirklin Clinic. Felt safe walking to my vehicle, grounds very clean.

This was a very enjoyable stay. We were in town for my husband’s knee replacement surgery and the walk in shower with bench was perfect! The room was nice and clean and beds were pretty comfortable. The breakfast was huge and had everything you could think of (hot and cold). I highly recommend this hotel!

The room was clean. Nice breakfast. The front desk clerk on Tuesday evening, the 28th, was very friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to bring batteries up to my room and put them in the remote for me.

There was no coffee when we got there. Out of hot water for tea. Hotel smelt like smoke, like a fire. TV remote didn’t work real well. I didn’t care for the breakfast.

Our daughter just started attending Samford University, and this close-to-campus hotel was just what we needed when we moved her to school this summer. Very nice breakfast each morning, excellent coffee, clean and large rooms, modern bathrooms. We do wish the shower temperature was not set - I like hotter water. But it was overall a very nice hotel and we will be staying again over family weekend.

Staff at front desk, Faith and Brenda, were friendly and helpful. Offered good recommendations and showed pride in their work. Breakfast was very pleasing and area kept well cleaned. Last day the elevators were not working so could not give property the Excellent rating but overall the property is Excellent.

We stayed last night July 18th. The room itself wasn't bad. There was a note on the Elevator saying to call down to the front desk if there was any issues, we'll that only works if there's someone there or someone answers the phone. We have young kids and given a room on the 6th floor not knowing at check in there was Elevator issues. We went to take the kids down to breakfast and waited for the Elevator with multiple other people and tried several times to reach the front desk. Finally got ahold of the desk who said they would send the Elevator up but that didn't happen and we ended up having to take the stairs. Breakfast was decent but they had biscuits and toast with zero jelly. After breakfast I did ask the lasy at the front desk if the elevator just won't go to the 6th floor and she proceeded to keep letting me know the elevator works, which clearly it doesn't. Others before us also had to use the stairs. When you pay that much for a room it wouldn't be nice to be able to use the elevator. At checkout with all of our luggage and kids it was definitely inconvenient to be standing there waiting for an Elevator that I again had to call to send the "service" Elevator up just so we could leave.
