Courtyard Richmond Chester

The hotel was renovated but smelled aweful. The elevators were functional but scary and no sticker showing the state inspection. Our room didn't get clean and no new towels were provided. The establishment across the street had a party that could heard late into the morning hours

I have to say complete disappointment. Stayed RM 208 - had to change room at our request on the 2nd evening the room was overwhelmed stench of rotten eggs the 1st. night we slept with the patio door open, the 2nd night we ask to be changed, the bathroom looked as if it was not cleaned, tubs looks like from 1970. Moved to a new room on the 4th floor only to be met with a tap in the shower that runs without stop , could not sleep. Next day at 9 am, the jack hammer started directly above our bed, scared the hell out out of us out of our sleep. We finally called after this noise would not stop about 11am, and was told they are renovating and this noise will continue daily from 9am-4pm. I asked , why did you move us directly below the renovations, and was told by the manager, there is nothing they can do. Would I like to check out? I asked to go where over the Christmas holidays . I was told I could check for rooms at another hotel... So disappointed in Marriott. I have used this Hotel brand for decades, and have never ever had treatment like this. I have never found the quality of the hotel health and safety, so poor, bath tubs in either room looked not washed and sanitized. The manager needs to be trained to better offer solutions, to issues for guests. Offering for us to check out with no place to go is not a solution. I was so exhausted leaving, not a pleasant place to be at all . I did take pictures and videos and recorded the noise of the jackhammer

Property is located near the interstate, gas stations shopping and food. The beds were soft but comfy. Overall the stay was pleasant. Two complaints: The elevator (the other was OOS) needs servicing as it was shaking really bad. Our toliet begin to mess up the morning of checkout. Upon notifying housekeeping I also notified the front desk to learn housekeeping had informed her. It is safe to say during my stay I experienced good communication.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The icemaker was out on our floor. Only one of the elevators was working. The outdoor area was a mess.

Undergoing renovations nearly done. Nice bistro, friendly staff. We would stay again!

I had reserved two queen size beds, as there were 2 adults and one child in the room, hotel only had single kings size room. Ice maker on the floor was also out of order and only one elevator was operating. Needless to say no one slept well.

There was no continental breakfast, not much breakfast selection at all, to even purchase. The pool area was not in the best shape, nor was walking thru the workers to get to the pool. the carpet in our room felt damp and sticky everywhere.... however, I do want to say that the Lobby was beautiful, and the Lobby Staff was polite.

Trash everywhere outside as well in lobby around elevators and ice makers. Only one elevator worked and it was extremely slow. Bar across the street played music so loud I could hear on the fourth floor upwards til 2am Elevator was dirty and smelled Room wasn’t any better. Found hair in the shower and black smudge fingerprints on shower ceiling and around mirrors. Door did not lock and latch was broken I had to use my wife hair tie to keep it latched. I will never stay here again and I will be writing a full in depth review on google.

Excellent stay overnight two rooms 4 adults. Super clean fantastic staff hotel has a bar served breakfast and dinner which was delicious our bed was so comfy didn’t want to get up ! Definitely would stay again if back in the area! Thank you so much !

The doors are very noisy—heard people coming and going all night long. The rooms were also stuffy and humid. Staff were wonderful, especially Ronald in the Bistro.

Loved how quiet and private it was.

Dark room and was freezing, water was Luke warm, could not get ABC (the network) on the television

The property was clean and staff was professional and friendly. There are more steps to getting on their internet than most places that I stay. After all the trouble to get on, it logs you out within a minute. You have to pay for any amenity other than the coffee in your room. Amenities gets a poor rating. I paid for a cop of coffee the first morning. The actual coffee in my Starbuck's cup took up 2 inches. I was told cappuccino was always mostly foam. Maybe inside this hotel but not at any Starbucks that I have been to.

Do not stay here on weekends. Or at least reserve a room in the rear of hotel. Our room faced the main road. Across the street, a bar with live music could be heard from our room. Having traveled 10 hours with another 10 to go, we were looking forward to a peaceful sleep. Up all nite with the loud throbbing beat of the music. Very disappointing.

We check in so late almost 1am and the staff was so kind and friendly I really appreciated as we needed it after a very long day driving.

We had a nice stay here. The young woman at the front desk was so helpful and so kind. We also ate and had drinks at the bar/restaurant. I believe she was a manager, but she was serving and making food- and she was so great and also was so nice.

Conveniently located by I95, a gas station and several great restaurants.

I love this hotel. For the pass three years twice a year, we have stayed here. The staff is very friendly. The local is near restaurants, grocery stores and other stores. I recommend this hotel to others.

We booked at the last minute after our original hotel informed us at check in that we could not park our small camper trailer in their too small lot. Courtyard was very accommodating. We had a quiet, comfortable room much appreciated after four nights of hot, humid camping at the Outer Banks of NC. Nice little bar in lobby. Breakfast options not great.

Bartender Ronald and bistro staff exceptional.

We didn't know that breakfast wasn't included and it would be a bit pricey, so we went into breakfast elsewhere. The incidental fee to be refunded several days later was also a surprise.

Most of the folks went out for breakfast since it was not included in what I considered a fairly high room rate.

I misunderstood the description of the breakfast??? I thought it was a free breakfast when in fact there is a surcharge for the breakfast. My mistake in reading the AD. A High price too pay for a room and you can't even get a free cup of coffee or a piece of toast??????
