Best Western Plus Monterey Inn

Hit tub wasn’t working and was part of the reason I booked the stay.

This place was great for a 2 night stay. We were greeted by a very welcoming front desk person. He let us know about the amenities and where everything was located. The place was clean and our room was spacious for a king bed. Even though it was raining, we enjoyed our stay. Parking was also very easy to find and convenient. The parking garage has elevators that lead you to the floor you’re staying so it’s very accessible. Breakfast was okay, fairly good options. The only thing I really have to complain about was the noise from adjacent rooms. I wasn’t sure where it was coming from, probably upstairs but you can hear heavy footsteps from inside your room. It was the worst on the morning we were to check out. It was probably around 7am or 8am. My partner and I wanted to sleep in a little on our last day but it was hard to. Every 30 minutes we would wake up from these heavy footsteps and the doors slamming. I’m not sure if it was from movement from the staff cleaning or the guests leaving but it was very loud and it got to the point where I just gave up on sleeping in. These rooms are definitely not soundproof. The cleaning staff also tried going in our room (w/ the do not disturb sign on) at10:30am when it was stated that check out was 11am. It didn’t bother us too much because we were just finishing up packing and about to leave our rooms, but they could’ve at least waited until 11am before they started doing that. Overall though, this a good place to stay for a quick getaway

I liked the heated pool but it was dirty the first night. Staff was really nice and attentive. I wish the lobby had a restroom. Breakfast was good, just wished the area to sit was a little bigger.

Everything is so clean. Jacuzzi is wonderful. Jets are very strong.

Alan was very kind and welcoming at check in. Room was very clean and maintenance staff was great. Bed and sheets were ok, room was spacious. Parking garage was actually spacious enough to park in, unlike other, more expensive hotels in the area.

Very good and affordable option. We enjoyed hot tub and heated pool. Coffee machine in lobby has great variety of coffee and chocolate drinks. Breakfast is really good quality for this price range. We'll be coming back!

Great location, within walking distance to downtown and other attractions. Free parking was a plus as was the heat pool and hot tub.

My stay here was pleasant. The staff were amazing and the rooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious. Parking was very easy and the pools were heated which was so nice. Definitely will be staying here again.

Spotlessly clean with a huge room. Beds extremely comfy and spacious. Staff kind and helpful and parking free and covered.

The bed was so comfy but getting a room on the second floor is not ideal because you hear the persons footsteps from above you. We found a dirty boxer on the floor next to our bed and a dirty towel in the bathroom, also the coffeeeachine downstairs the fancy one is not fancy the coffee was terrible.

Everything was great! Clean room and fresh room, coffee bar was excellent! Breakfast was good, well attended.

Customer service was great. Only problem was sheets had a stain and also I stayed on first floor and you can hear all the stepping going on upstairs it was a bit hard to sleep.

Terrible experience. There were bugs in the room. The front office staff was not cooperative at all. Threatened to call local PD and escort us out of the hotel in the middle of the night. Please stay away from this place.

It was a comfortable clean room. Only complaint was we were staying there for two nights and we were put on the 1st floor and being on the bottom floor is quite loud so it was hard to get some rest. It was local to everything. We did not travel no more than 10 min from anything we were seeing.

The bedrooms were large and comfortable. Lots of space for clothes, items, and there's even a refrigerator. The staff was friendly and helpful, and even managed to secure the last room for my niece. It's very close to Fisherman's Wharf!

The walls and ceiling are thin so it is noisy. I had a first floor room and the guest upstairs was loud and constantly walking around in the room - no idea why a person or persons need to walk around so much in a small hotel room. The footsteps across the ceiling woke me up at 5 am and the person kept walking back and forth until 7am. Very annoying.

Nice for the price. It’s a bit loud, seems like you hear the room above you.

Nice friendly check in, lobby was welcoming. Location was wonderful. Easy walk to downtown, pier, and restaurants. This hotel does not have air conditioning in the rooms. Most of the time the ceiling fan helps but with unusually warm weather it was the first time for us it was bothersome. We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. The new bedding was fresh and lovely, however, the mattress was not up to par. Way way too soft. It killed our backs, and we do not have a history of back problems. The previous beds were just fine!

The room was a nice size and the bed was comfortable however we did not know there would be no air conditioning. Only a fan. Very disappointing. Also, the walls were very think and when someone walked above us we could feel the room bounce. The pool and jacuzzi in the picture apprearwd much bigger.

Great location. Room was quite large, we booked 2 king beds. Rooms was very clean. Friendly staff.

The location of the property is excellent. The front desk staff was welcoming, efficient and helpful. HOWEVER, the bed was too high off the ground and the mattress was waaaay too soft. For anyone with back issues, like me, it was, unacceptable. For parts of two nights out of a three night stay I needed to sleep on the floor. That, quite simply, is ridiculous!

The stay was great but I do want to note that they don’t have AC in the rooms, and the fan was very noisy so it made it hard to sleep. Also to add in that you could hear the elevator each time someone used it.

Great staff, gentleman at front desk late afternoon and evening were top notch. Helpful, friendly and kind. Room was clean, parking free and easy. Free breakfast. Hotel exceeded my expectations.

In the morning, I went to get some breakfast in this small room that have about 20 people eating in there. This staff named "Lucia" walk up to me and ask "What\'s your room number?" I replied "room 115". She said "Ok" and walk off. But I noticed she did not ask anybody else during that entire hour of breakfast and there were lots of people in and out. I realized she singled me out because I am the only Asia in the room. I just experienced discrimination at the breakfast table. The after shock from that experience makes me feel like why stay at this hotel when there are lots of other choices with people that are not prejudice and discriminate people based on their ethnicity. I think she fails to ask that I pulled up in a Benz and own 2 businesses and have multi-racial staff working for me at my companies. This is why this location gets only 1 star from me.

Alan was the best front desk person! He was ready and willing to help us with anything we might need. He made our stay that much more pleasant

We stayed overnight, loved the location and the room was perfect for what we needed. Front desk were extremely friendly and helpful at all times.

Bad experience with overcharged, double! Then rude staff on phone who hung upnon me. Had to call main best western number only to be told they dont so billing local facility does. Had to get in touch with expedia again and spend a long time on chat, emailing screenshots and everything for something that should be readily viewable on both hotels and expedia end. Tiresome experience. Stay itself was normal, nothing bad. Breakfast standard.

This hotel seems to have everything you need in its category (basic and clean), but it doesn't feel cozy and welcoming. The surly man at the front desk said our room wasn't ready without even looking at the computer because we arrived 15 minutes before check-in time. Then a woman came and we went to her desk and she checked us in right away. The front desk staff doesn't seem to care about the guests. But the woman serving our room was nice and helpful. Breakfast has protein: omelettes, sausages. That’s plus.

The hotel was easy to find and the room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. Alan at the front desk gave us a very warm welcome. He was so kind and friendly.

The property is very well-maintained, parking so convenient and the breakfast options terrific! Rooms large and updated and Very clean. Staff polite, the gentleman who checked us in was top-notch—warm, professional, efficient yet so personable. We booked 3 rooms and requested all on same floor if possible. The Best Western Plus Inn Monterey delivered! We were not only on the same floor but right next to eachother!! Thank you! For the price, highly recommend…will definitely return.

Area was decent and close to a lot of restaurants and bars. The beach and wharf are walkable. Will be back again. Great place.

Loved the location to the main attractions in Monterey. It is centrally located to all the main locations you'd want to visit. The hotel was great: it included good "all-you-can-eat" breakfast, free parking, and free WiFi. If you're on a budget, this is the right place to consider. Even if you are not on a budget but like a good deal, this hotel offers this too!

Nice place, reasonably close to Cannery Row (by car) and walking distance to a nice area with restaurants. Free parking. Staff was very nice. Enjoyed hot tub but wish they would improve the lighting there; it was just one spot light shining in my eyes, not the best for a nice ambience. Pancake machine kept running out of batter every day but at least it was free breakfast. May consider staying there again.

Great staff here. Free breakfast was good. We loved the expresso/ cocoa machine available in the lobby. Very clean updated place. Walking distance to the wharf and lots of restaurants. We would stay again for sure.

We loved our room- comfy, spacious- great central location- friendly staff. only complaint is the breakfast. We ended up eating elsewhere the second morning.

the room has no microwave. sofa bed sucks pool not heated. not enough towels cant take breakfast back to your room

Overall nice stay but we were on 2nd floor so it was a bit noisy on floor above us. Also the breakfast area was very small and very crowded for its size.

The beds are very comfortable. The guy that checked us in was so kind & friendly. The breakfast room was small but the ladies working in there were doing a great job.

I felt very welcomed as soon as I arrived at the hotel. The front desk provided an excellent service informing me of all ammediities hotel has to offer. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. I also enjoyed barista cofee maker at the lobby. Definitely would come back!
