Hartsfield Manor

I had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The location is easy to get to, making travel to work convenient and the hotel offers good amenities that added to the comfort of my stay. Overall, a great choice and I’d happily stay again.

One night stay business trip, great hotel, easy parking and good food

Only a few miles off Junction 8 of the M25, Hartsfield Manor was an ideal location for a recent visit to the area. The main building is impressive but only contains some of the guest rooms, plus conference rooms, restaurant and bar. The large rooms and suites are in this main building, which is very grand, with a wonderful staircase. We were given room 47 in the Lodge by the entrance to the long drive up to the house. The room was comfortable and clean but only had two parking spaces at the front, which were occupied. So, we had to use the small car park behind the lodge which has some access issues (steps with no handrail). It is also a long walk from the house, so using the car was the only real option with luggage. It seems that most accommodation is in the modern 1970s-style annex, which is not what most people, including us, would expect. This may account for some disappointment reflected in other reviews. If you want to get the full benefit of this grand manor, make sure that you book a room or suite in the main building, and not the annex. Check the websites for details. Weekday breakfast is only served until 9.30am and we were the last to arrive. However, the food was adequate but disappointing for this class of hotel. The service was also “distracted” as we were asked “tea or coffee” three times!

Terrible - don’t let the outside photos fool you! Firstly there was a sick stain on the carpet which wasn’t very pleasant. The room was unbearably hot despite turning heating off and opening windows. There was a wedding which went on to at least 3pm and it was incredibly loud and we had no sleep at all. Table was dirty at breakfast with really bad buffet style fry up - that was not worth the money at all get better in ikea. Room key never worked meaning we had to go down to lobby to get it changed every time we went into room. Very limited parking I suspect due to wedding and not the best conditions for a low car!

Great parking, lovely room, excellent staff from check in to check out. All meals were lovely and well priced. We had a fantastic three nights.

Large grounds, free and plenty carpark, gym.

Very nice property in lovely grounds. We had a room in an annex which was fine and probably a little quieter than the main house as there was a wedding on. The room had a very nice private patio area outside but we weren’t able to use as the weather was so wet. The service at the bar was poor probably because of the wedding. Similarly the restaurant was dead - we were the only people dining - again likely to be due to the wedding. Food was good. Had we known there was a wedding on we probably would not have stayed. May pay to ask about weddings if you are considering staying here..,

Our experience was so bad that we checked out after 1 night and asked for a refund for the next night. The outside of the main building and grounds are beautiful, but the rest of our experience was too awful to stay. -After we used the toilet once (not doing anything abnormal there) it blocked. They said there is no handyman on Sundays so it couldn't be fixed. It's mad a 4star hotel couldn't call one out. We had to use the toilet of another room in the building. We didn't want to move to a different type of room as specifically booked this room category as it opens onto the grounds - that is what we came for! -The food at dinner was so bad that we had to order breakfast from ubereats as we did not want to risk eating there again. All radiators were off in the dining room and one window was wide open, so we ate in winter coats - it was like they make no effort unless there is a wedding. -The radiators in the room went off even though it was very cold -Neither of their wifi options worked in the annex- clearly it was coming from the main building and there was no working router in the annex. We reported this multiple times and nothing was done. -They advertise smart tvs in their website but they were old tvs with only youtube -The bath was filthy -Telephone intermittently didn't work -At 10am, despite the do-not-disturb sign, staff knocked on the door and came in, waking me -Despite all these problems, we were only offered a free meal, no refund for the night we stayed.

Stayed in an annex room, the stairwell was filthy. The carpets look as though they haven't been vacuumed for weeks - fead flies. Established cobwebs

Hi i wasn't happy with the lodge room as it's was very dirty so i rang reception and sent 2 lovely ladies to check after that they were happy to change my room to manor hotel,the young girl asked the reception lady to change my room to manor hotel also i mentioned to her that i made a mistake booked in lodge as manor hotel last time i stayed was nice and clean and same price despite i told her and the kind young lady asked her too to change my room to manor hotel but she didn't . She booked me in room 51 which was not a nice thing to do and the corridor floor in room 51 was smelly of urine and outside when i opened my window smelly poo of horses so i wasn't happy at all with that reception who booked me in yesterday at 2 pm as she didn't gave me a room in manor house i was paying the same amount £154 for the room in that hotel and also the young lovely lady who was sitting at the back said it is not very busy tonite . She was very kind and helpful but the reception lady wasn't friendly ,kind or helpful to me .

Service at reception was superb upon arrival. Room was spacious with a nice bathroom. A bit tired but character features. Room could have been cleaner which is the only disappointment. Had dinner and breakfast and both meals were excellent.

Very quiet and safe hotel which includes the annex rooms with great views. The rooms smelt a little fusty because the carpets need a good clean or changing. Situated on the first floor and being non smokers we did notice in the morning that a smoker was on the ground floor room terrace below our room smoking, not pleasant if your having a lay in. If the rooms could be updated the room rate would be acceptable, unfortunately a little overpriced.

The internet was slow as was the room service It would be great to add fridges to more rooms Staff were all lovely and helpful and the building and grounds all lovely.

It was a beautiful manor with gorgeous grounds and nature, but no fridge/ microwave/ no A/C. And the train station, Betchworth, had no live person, no Ubers or Taxis. My cellphone didn't work in the area, so I had to walk to a house across from the station. Thankfully, a college student was home and was able to drive me to the manor. Otherwise, I honestly don't know how I would have gotten to the Manor.

Nice location for a stopover. Historic building with views of the rolling grounds. Rooms are small with thin walls but well appointed. Dinner in the bar was ok but tables were in short supply and the Cesar salad lacked flair. The restaurant had a two course menu but this didn't work for me as only needed a single course.

We stayed a Saturday night when a wedding was in full flow. Check in was good and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was quiet, being separate from the main building. The bar area was relatively small and dominated by wedding guests which was a negative. The kitchen shut at 9pm and no hot food available from room service which was disappointing. Breakfast was good and buffet style. The room was comfortable but the TV and channel options basic. I think it was slightly expensive for what it was.

Upon arrival we were made to feel at home with very good service and a nice lovely large comfortable room, that had excellent views of the grounds and the wider countryside.

Just a single-night stay but very restful and the room was great. Quite expensive though - couldn't have managed any longer.

I was initially given a room I hadn't booked, so had to go through the rigmarole of changing rooms then moving all my stuff. The bed and pillows were far too soft and I woke up with horrendous back pain. For a huge bathroom, the bath was tiny and uncomfortable. There were blinds in the bathroom, but they didn't fit the windows perfectly so, especially at night, I didn't feel comfortable in the bathroom. The food in the restaurant was expensive and the portion sizes too small. I wouldn't have minded the price if there was more on the plate. Not a pleasant experience really.

Lovely place to stay. Lots of character with fantastic gardens. All pretty good. Highly recommended!

Located in beautiful country side with immaculte grounds with an old world charm. Restaurant dining was excellent and the staff were very friendly and made our 2 might stay an absolute wonderful experience.

This was a beautiful find so close to the airport. The manor is beautiful. Staying here and having delicious meals was a wonderful alternative to staying at an airport hotel. Perfect way to end our trip!

We got married here a year ago so came back for our 1st anniversary. We had a delicious meal and lovely breakfast in bed. There was no service charge for room service which was lovely. Our room was exceptionally comfortable and well equipped and the staff were lovely. In addition to that, the hotel looked stunning with all the Christmas decorations. A fairytale venue.
