Our room was clean and bright. Every member of staff went out of their way to be helpful and courteous. We were provided with a dog bed and bowls and there was a well stocked dog station. Breakfast was lovely; service excellent once again.

Excellent location, very comfortable room, cosy bar for a pet friendly evening meal. Great breakfast in the cosy bar, but what really stood out was the fantastic, courteous, friendly, genuine staff. We had a lovely stay. Thank you

A very old building with lots of rooms where you can easily get lost but very frindly staff can show you the way. It was a very cold day and that was reflected inside despite fires. A better stocked cask ale would have been preferrred and the full English breakfast was basic and bacon reheated.

Friendly and happy staff made this one-night stay a real treat. Lovely historic building with a nice garden and characterful bar. Easy parking at the back - which is important so close to a very popular main street with its shops and pubs. Excellent quality and choice for 'main items' at breakfast - nicest smoked salmon and scrambled eggs I can remember!

Our stay at the Bay Tree Hotel was very nice. The decor in part of our room might be considered dated by some but when visiting an historic inn it is much nicer to have cozy and comfortable furnishings like the ones we enjoyed. The hotel is extremely quiet and we had some of the best sleep on our vacation. The bar, dining room, and patio are all gorgeous. Outside the facility is a lovely as inside! We highly recommend the Bay Tree Hotel.

The food here was second to none, the staff couldn’t do any more. We had beef and fish and chips for tea and it was 10/10. The breakfast menu + buffet was also fab! The rooms were nice and big, however they were quite dusty and the shower pressure was a trickle of water so wasn’t too enjoyable. The roof of our room did look slightly concerning as was very bent with lots of cracks in, but maybe this is what old buildings are like! The warmth and cozyness of the place was amazing, fireplaces everywhere, super nice and warm. The staff were fab. Any advice from us, get the cheese Croquettes 😍😍 Can’t wait to come back here!

Lovely hotel, great staff and good food. The only slight issue for us was, although the bedroom was quaint, the bathroom was very dated. Additionally, whilst clearly no fault of the hotel, Burford itself feels a bit past its best.

Burford is all honey-coloured stone and the Bay Tree Hotel is no different. Our room (Asthall) was very comfortable and clean. It was located in the annex, separated from the main building by a small road. The hotel itself is just off the high street, which is a typical tourist centre with coffee shops and antique stores. Breakfast was good - full English! We also booked the evening meal in the restaurant which has a lovely view over the walled garden. Dinner was also very good - Squash and sage ravioli for my wife and catch of the day (pan-fried sea bass) for me. Desserts also very good, though my wife struggled with the sticky toffee pudding (a bit heavy).

We had a really lovely stay at The Bay Tree. The room was spacious, clean and had a cosy vibe. The breakfast was great and the Christmas themed interiors were beautiful. Staff were friendly and great location. They did oat milk with my breakfast which I was very happy with! Can’t complain at all.

What a lovely hotel in a beautiful village! The hotel is very clean and extremely charming. I loved the lounges with the fireplaces. The room was spacious and clean. The food was superb, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I will definitely return!

Enjoyed our stay at the Bay Tree. Great location for shopping in Buford, and access to the Cotswolds. Our room was lovely, and very comfortable. The reception and restaurant Services were exceptional. The only downer was that the room was a loud location.

Very small and hot room, and I couldn’t turn the radiator off. The shower is so small you cannot stand up. It is ok if you are under 5 feet tall. Noisy room as the ventilation vent for the building is above the window. Great hotel with great staff and I have stayed 5 times before and will stay again but I will not be staying in Ash next time.

OVERALL OUR STAY WAS VERY GOOD. SERVICE AND STAFF WERE VERY GOOD. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT THE ROOM THAT WE STAYED IN (CHESTNUT ) WAS DIRECTLY ABOVE THE BAR AREA AND ON A NIGHT WE WERE DISTURBED BY THE NOISE BELOW

It’s a lovely place to stay. We were in the annexe, room was really large, sitting room then up a bit to bedroom and bathroom jut off that room. Staff in bar on the slow side, had to be found to get served. Evening meal was good (even though 6oz steak! Had soup to start but no spoon supplied so used desert spoon. No steak knives either so ploughed through with just a normal knife. Possibly not quite four star, but would stay again.

Excellent hotel with superb staff. Really could not fault anything. Our room was really comfortable and warm with plentiful hot water. Food at dinner and breakfast was delicious with good choice and variety at the breakfast service. But the thing that made our stay so special was the attentive, courteous and professional staff who had the ability to be friendly without being over familiar. Superb team, well done guys!

Fantastic property stayed here before. All I will say is that the service for breakfast and dinner was really poor - and what I mean is that there seemed to be young staff untrained and no management oversight. So orders were wrong for every table. The staff didn’t understand the menu or wine list. And the breakfast menu as wrong and cold each day. Needs improving.

Gorgeous cosy property in the heart of Burford in the heart of the Cotswolds - was so easy to visit everything we wanted to see from the hotel along with Burford being ideal with the main street of shops, pubs, eateries, bakery & more at the end of the road! All of the staff in every area of the hotel were friendly, helpful & professional … breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices hot + cold … we had dinner the 1st night which was very good too! Must mention Max & Alana who were brilliant as we had left something behind when we checked out & they swiftly located the item & posted it back to us the following day - amazing service, nothing was too much trouble - so needless to say we were impressed by the property & people throughout our 3 night stay & beyond! Highly recommend!

Great location to explore the Cotswolds. Parking easy and safe. Staff very welcoming, breakfast excellent and evening meal tasty - but pricy - can't fault otherwise. Bedroom comfy and quiet.

Great central location and beautiful hotel building. The atmosphere is chilled out and informal and the room we had was exceptional. This is an expensive area and so expect prices to reflect this, that said you get what you pay for - the Cotswolds is a busy, but stunning location. We will definitely be returning. Thanks Bay Tree for a great memorable stay.

Lovely hotel right in the centre of Burford, which is, itself, central in the Cotswolds to visit all of the local places of interest. Very helpful, pleasant staff.

Excellent location, very comfortable room, cosy bar for a pet friendly evening meal. Great breakfast in the cosy bar, but what really stood out was the fantastic, courteous, friendly, genuine staff. We had a lovely stay. Thank you

Gorgeous cosy property in the heart of Burford in the heart of the Cotswolds - was so easy to visit everything we wanted to see from the hotel along with Burford being ideal with the main street of shops, pubs, eateries, bakery & more at the end of the road! All of the staff in every area of the hotel were friendly, helpful & professional … breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices hot + cold … we had dinner the 1st night which was very good too! Must mention Max & Alana who were brilliant as we had left something behind when we checked out & they swiftly located the item & posted it back to us the following day - amazing service, nothing was too much trouble - so needless to say we were impressed by the property & people throughout our 3 night stay & beyond! Highly recommend!

The Bay Tree is a lovely, cosy Cotswolds hotel nestled in the heart of Burford with a classic charm. Some comments from our stay: the first room we checked into (Leaford) had the fire escape door which wasn’t ideal and the toilet took many pumps to flush. The mattress was also very springy and not comfortable. However we spoke to reception the next morning and they kindly moved us to Swinbrook which was overall a much nicer room with a more comfortable bed and the toilet worked. However it was above the kitchen I believe so during the middle of the night you could hear the generator lightly whirring. Breakfast service on our first morning could have been better (I think one of the staff members was new), and we were disappointed that by 8:30am (breakfast starts at 8, but we arrived 30 mins later) all of the pain au chocolat pastries had been finished by guests. Given it was a BH weekend, we were not too impressed that they hadn’t accommodated for more over the weekend and to run out so early into breakfast. Otherwise, we really enjoyed dinner at the restaurant and the food and service was very good. Thank you to the receptionist who helped us swap our room without issue

Our stay at The Bay Tree Hotel was superb. The hotel manager Dragos and hotel receptionist Alana are most professional and accommodating, not to mention efficient, friendly and hard working. Our room was cute and comfortable, and the hotel is conveniently located to the town. Dinner was absolutely outstanding, breakfast was also very very nice. I highly recommend this hotel.

Location, atmosphere, view from the room, comfort, excellent dinner and breakfast cooked to order all made for a memorable and impressive stay, which made us want to return. All staff were friendly and attentive but in a relaxed and informal way. We really enjoyed it !

Fantastic property stayed here before. All I will say is that the service for breakfast and dinner was really poor - and what I mean is that there seemed to be young staff untrained and no management oversight. So orders were wrong for every table. The staff didn’t understand the menu or wine list. And the breakfast menu as wrong and cold each day. Needs improving.

A very old building with lots of rooms where you can easily get lost but very frindly staff can show you the way. It was a very cold day and that was reflected inside despite fires. A better stocked cask ale would have been preferrred and the full English breakfast was basic and bacon reheated.

Beautiful room, super bathroom (although the shower only had scalding hot water with no possibilty of adjusting) and all very clean. The food was the problem which they need to address. Several items on menu were unavailable on both nights and we had to wait a very long time before the meals arrived. The quality was excellent but just luke warm, which spoilt the meals. It had obviously been sat plated up for sone time (hence our wait) before someone decided to serve it. The food wasnt cheap and would have been delicious. All in all, it was such a shame and let the hotel down on what otherwise would have been a lovely stay

Overall a really good stay, lovely rooms, gardens, staff very helpful and attentive. Only criticism was dinner, a few things when ordered were not available on the menu and we ordered lamb with sweetbreads, meal came with no sweetbreads, when asked why waiter went to ask and apparently they are hard to get hold of. If a major part of the dish is not available it should not be on the menu, as this was a main reason for oredering.

Only problem we had was ordering porridge at breakfast on first day. No oat milk so had coconut milk instead. When it arrived was tepid at best. Second morning, no porridge available !

All'interno di una antica struttura, il Bay Tree Hotel si presenta molto accogliente, caldo, silenzioso. Personale molto gentile e disponibile, pronto, un piccolo giardino curato dove poter sostare e bere, colazione ricca e varia. Camera grande e accogliente. Un bar interno e una sala lettura con camino (però con una ventola rumorosa e poco illuminata) completano questo hotel sicuramente da consigliare.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful and easy to contact. They showed us to our room and helped with the luggage. The room was good, with good amenities (2 armchairs and king size bed) and staff quickly brought us a fan as it was very hot. The bathroom was a bit dated but again there was everything you needed, including Molton Brown smellies. The food at dinner was excellent, as was the breakfast. The hotel is near to the High Street so easy to look round Burford which is very pretty. It also has a free car park which is unusual these days.

A beautiful hotel with amazing gardens and really lovely and helpful staff! We stayed two nights and adored our beautiful and very spacious room, overlooking the amazing and large gardens which guests can use. Good parking. I think this is perfect for anyone who wants a luxury feeling and experience beautiful garden life in the Cotswolds, with the high street and pubs and shops around the corner. Only negative thing would be that the dinner in the restaurant was a bit bland and disappointing, while also a bit pricey. Be aware that the hotel adds a service tax which was quite high (around 17 pounds). You’ll find other options with better food and no service tax along the high street. Other than that - a beautiful, quiet and lovely hotel which I 100 % recommend, especially for older travellers (which we are not, but still loved the beautiful place and hospitality of the lovely staff)!

Overall we had a positive experience at this hotel, it’s quite quirky and in a great location. It did seem very understaffed during our stay, the same person manning the bar also appeared to be serving in the restaurant.
