Dalgair House Hotel

Very comfortable ensuite room, good evening bar food menu, food also available in the Bistro. Really good breakfast choice - I had the Full Scottish option which was brilliant and cooked to order. Off road car parking.

Another good stay at the Dalgair, will be great when all the rooms have been renovated as our room was still to be done. Will be back I a sure soon as Callander is a great place and the Dalgair is a good dog friendly base to use. We had some drinks in the back bar and also a really nice meal in Greg’s Bistro - if your in town look them up

On the main street with parking at the back. Clean room. Small heater adequate for heating the room. All staff friendly. Choice of restaurant the bistro has excellent food, a bit different and pricier or the bar which does bar food. We ate in the bistro both nights. Well worth it.

Owner was great. Staff went out of there way to take care of us. Breakfast was great. Bar and bistro were very nice.

I stayed here for one night after visiting the Kelpies. Friendly people and I enjoyed the bar.

The staff was very friendly. However, there was no elevator. So we had to bring our luggage's to the third floor through the stairs

Stayed for one night and really enjoyed it. Staircase very nice and clean. Room was very clean but a bit dated. Shower room was beautiful and very clean. Had evening meal and breakfast and both were very good. I would definitely stay again

The bed was comfortable enough, but it is an older facility and could use some TLC. There is black mold in the bathroom. Convenient location and the breakfast is good.

On arriving the Dalgair house hotel , there is no front house reception to greet you , zId eventually found a bar person to asked how I can check in he took my name and he give me keys to the room, the room is comfortable, but thats where it stops, bathroom was not clean looking as the walls curtains and showers was ridden with heavy black moulds , no heating in bedroom nor bathrooms probably is why theres heavy mildew problems, no proper ventilation in bathroom, staff were very friendly. I must recommend gregs bistro is where you go for breakfast and evening meals food is good ,good drinks all serve with a smile . There a off-road parking spaces behind hotel . The hotel is situated on a main streets good selection of shops cafes and restaurants

Firstly we had requested a twin room but got a double. The room was dirty and extremely shabby, I have taken pictures to verify this. We were only staying one night so didn't complain. The girl working in the bar was lovely and breakfast was really nice with a great selection & once again our server was great. I would not book to stay here again unfortunately

Hotel smells of mold. Room was not very clean. Lighting in room was cold white LED. No remote for TV. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly.

Check in easy plenty parking. Room warm comfortable, only gripe bathroom could do with better cleaning. Breakfast great freshly made and delicious thank you Nico. We will return again as great value for money

Considering this hotel had a 2 star rating, I wasn’t expecting much. However, I was pleasantly surprised. First off, the staff were lovely. We arrived fairly late on a Friday evening (around 8pm) and the bar was very busy. The staff never once rushed us during check in and took their time to make us feel welcome. The hotel area is, for the most part, quite dated. The furniture is retro/antique, but not in that fancy way, it’s just old. I would say that, even switching the bedsheets out for plain white sheets would probably make a difference. However, everything was clean and comfortable, the rooms were fresh and aired, and it was very spacious. The en-suite shower room was, by contrast, lovely. It was very modern and, again, very clean. A small selection of toiletries were provided, with use of microfibre towels. Our room was directly above the bar area which, as you’d expect on a Friday night, was playing music till late. Due to our early start, we headed to bed around 10 and I did expect for the music to keep me awake, but it didn’t. The bed was so comfy that I was out like a light. I couldn’t even tell you when the music stopped. We left around 6:30 am, which was too early for breakfast, so can’t comment on that, unfortunately. We also didn’t have dinner at the Bistro, due to arriving so late on the Friday. Location wise, it’s on the main road, walking distance from shops, bars, restaurants, takeaways, lochs, hike/bike trails. Also has a small carpark for guests.

Great bar, good food, lots of lively local folks, rooms comfy but need updating.

The food was good the bedroom was spacious and a comfy bed. competitively priced.

Bed was comfortable. Duvet was too heavy. As i tried to sleep music started below me and kept going for a few hours. Then there was a dog barking. Took a while to get hot water in the shower.

If you like being up until 1:30 am every this is the place. Outside area of bar closes at 10 pm by law, so every ones hangs outside under the room windows making noise. Everything else was fine.

Lovely welcome from staff and I had a lovely quiet room so no issues there. Breakfast was lovely.

Room was very spacious, although it could benefit from an update. I was in room 2, which unfortunately is directly above the busy smoking area, so I could not open the windows, and it was noisy at times.

The room was comfortable and the lady in the bistro in the evening was very friendly and helpful. She organised us a take away for us as my husband wasn’t good on the stair.

All was great other then they had me pay another £20 when I arrived because their was 2 adults. With a double bed I would assume that's double occupancy!

We stayed for one night at this property, why this is rated only 2 star seems very unfair 4star would be more appropriate We had a great stay, food was delicious,had a few drinks in the bar, met some friendly locals & Aaron the barman was top class. We will be returning, really good value for money

We needed a cheap place to sleep over to avoid a snowstorm on the way back home to the Scottish highlands. We were looking for something budget and this fitted the bill. Fabulously comfy bed and central location. Breakfast is included, and we had juice, cereal, or cooked breakfast, and a big pot of hot, steaming fresh coffee included in the price of the room. It’s not very stylish or trendy and the decor is a little bit “aunty Morag’s house meets 80’s Blackpool guest house”. A lot of crushed velvet. Bathroom a bit tatty, but clean. The bed was gorgeous and squishy. It’s great for a stopover on long drives. Bang in the middle of town with free parking on the doorstep. Yes it could do with a refurb, but then it wouldn’t be this cheap. Will highly recommend. Thanks for a warm, cosy stay

Quite central to the town centre, clean and comfortable accommodation, staff very friendly.

Traditional B and B with a few antiques scattered around. Has a lovely wee pub downstairs well used by locals which has pool and a Duke box with libbuc at the weekends. The room was clean, had a decent mattress, warm bedding, bath and shower, decent size towel provided and a reasonable size flat screen TV on the wall. Plenty of storage and hangers. Now for the best stuff. The food, available in the bar or bistro next door at very reasonable prices it is fresh and plentiful and breakfast was also excellent and served in the chic but cosy wee bistro attached to the B and B. Staff were all efficient and welcoming with a warm easy manner. We will be back and the surrounding village of Callander with the Trossach hills rising around it is stunning. We came away feeling just as one should after a wee break. Rested and positive.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is central on Callander High Street. The rooms were very clean and well looked after. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The prices are very reasonable, making our overnight stay excellent value for money.

I don’t know if all the rooms were the same, but I’m especially grateful to Marnie for giving me a brilliant room. All the space I needed with a shower that had hot water that was properly hot. Included a great breakfast. I’d definitely stay again if/when in the area.
