Loved our stay at the Longlands - the property is tranquil and well equipped, the staff is lovely, and the location is really idea to access the Lake District. We loved our dinner at the on-site restaurant so much that we went back the following night.

Lovely helpful staff, extremely comfortable beds we slept so well after having a week of stress before we went, lovely spacious room and ultra modern bathroom, lovely sunny Patio for eating and drinking , free coffee on offer, great breakfast, could t fault our stay, only slight negative the restaurant food was a bit pricey.

The property was fantastic. We really enjoyed the little touches like a bed for our dog and poo bags and bowls left for him and the kitchen was well equipped and towels included. My only two slight criticisms were that the babies cot that we asked for wasn’t very secure at the bottom (it felt like it had a piece missing so it’s sun at one side) and it was very difficult to find somewhere to check in. Granted, we arrived in the evening, but after some wondering about we found it. We had a really nice time though, and would definitely go again!

Stayed in one of the cottages for three nights and the accommodation was excellent. Everything exceptionally clean and all the facilities you need. Very comfortable. Only a couple of things to mention that the duvet was extremely heavy and I did ask for a thinner one but this was unavailable. Personal choice I suppose and I presume summer quilts will replace the winter ones soon. Also just to mention the smell of the sewerage was very strong but I suppose that would be difficult to cure. Thank you for a great stay and sure we will return.

We stayed at this hotel for one night with our dog and baby, and it was one of the most memorable stays we’ve ever had. Having experienced luxurious 5-star hotels in the UK and abroad, where you pay for top-tier amenities and service, I still prefer a place with genuinely friendly staff and a warm, local atmosphere. This hotel delivered on all fronts.The location was excellent, with a charming outdoor area for enjoying meals or drinks. The food was very good, though not perfect. The dog-friendly rooms were impeccably clean, well-equipped, and reasonably priced for such a quality local inn.The standout was a staff member named Marcel. He welcomed us at check-in, served us during a late dinner, and was there again for breakfast. When we found our car wouldn’t start due to a flat battery on a bank holiday Monday, with no shops open and no jump leads at the hotel, Marcel’s kindness shone through. He offered to drive to his own house to fetch jump leads. In the end, we managed to start the car another way, but his willingness to go out of his way made us feel truly valued.This was an exceptional experience, and we’d return in a heartbeat!

Staff were super friendly and helpful and called before our arrival to make sure that the right type of room was being reserved for us, and then checked in again on arrival day, to see if we wanted any food pre-ordered before the restaurant closed (as we were arriving late evening). Really helpful and thoughtful. The room was super comfortable, clean and up to date. Would definitely stay again, if we are back in the area.

Ideal place to stay for a wedding. Spacious, very comfortable room with great shower. Beautifully clean and nicely decorated. Had a fab night’s sleep in the very comfy bed. Particularly recommend the range of choice for breakfast and the excellent quality. So aff were lovely.

Every member of staff was excellent. They knew who we were & they were very conscious of our requirements. Our cottage was immaculately clean, superbly presented. Nothing seemed to much trouble. In terms of customer care & cleanliness, it is possibly the best hotel we have stayed in. The location is pretty good too!

The room was average to good, the breakfast was very good. The dining room was large but I thought the food was a bit overpriced for what you got e.g 4.75 for a side of fries. It was quite noisy outside our room because outside tables with people having an evening drink, that didn’t really bother us ( although may bother some people) but what was a problem was an extractor fan underneath the window of our room that was very noisy and went off and on whenever someone used the ladies toilet - we had room 7 and later in the evening the fan was very intrusive and for this reason I would avoid that room

Liked the room and the staff. We were warned there was a party one night so expected it to be noisy. However it was quite noisy every morning as well as the pub was directly below our room - sound of chairs and tables being dragged around. In general a nice environment though.

We had the pleasure of stopping over at Longlands Inn on Thursday night, before heading North to Penrith. It is very well situated, just of the M6. From the moment we checked in to the minute we checked out, nothing was too much trouble for any of the friendly and welcoming staff we saw. We had two nice, well equipped rooms, each with a lovely welcome tray containing ample coffee, tea selection and milk. The bathrooms were airy and each contained clean, fresh scented toiletries for use, along with bath sheets, rather than the usual smaller bath towel. The bed was extremely comfortable, providing a lovely nights sleep and if you are a light sleeper, there are complimentary ear plugs in the room A nice, varied menu allowed for a delicious dinner on Thursday evening and an equally delicious breakfast menu was available on Friday morning, with cereal, fruit, croissants… and a selection of cooked breakfasts on offer. We will most definitely be back

Larger than average rooms, with a mini fridge with water and fresh milk (a really nice touch). Lovely bathroom with walk in shower. The curtains were closed to keep the room cooler on a day when the temperature was hovering around 30oC.

I have stayed at Longlands a number of times and enjoy the place a lot. The staff were absolutely super and the food delicious - they deserve very high praise indeed. I wonder if the owners are aware that the new ceiling mounted speakers in the dining room are very effective at transmitting music clearly, up through the floorboards, into the rooms above, during the evening and also as soon as breakfast service starts? This would only be the Coachhouse rooms, so avoid those, if this is likely to disturb your sleep.

Lovely place for an overnight stay. Really pleased we chose it instead of the many bog standard motorway hotels, though it is just as convenient for the M6. Big comfy rooms, lots of atmosphere, great breakfast, lovely staff.

Ideal place to stay for a wedding. Spacious, very comfortable room with great shower. Beautifully clean and nicely decorated. Had a fab night’s sleep in the very comfy bed. Particularly recommend the range of choice for breakfast and the excellent quality. So aff were lovely.

Staff were super friendly and helpful and called before our arrival to make sure that the right type of room was being reserved for us, and then checked in again on arrival day, to see if we wanted any food pre-ordered before the restaurant closed (as we were arriving late evening). Really helpful and thoughtful. The room was super comfortable, clean and up to date. Would definitely stay again, if we are back in the area.

I was very impressed with our visit to Longlands Hotel it is in a good location and close to motorway, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I only stayed one night with room at back and hillside views, the room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant was very nice in which we were served. The room was facing the rear overlooking the outside patio and carpark but due to the change in weather there was no-one using the patio so was no additional noise was we had gone to bed. I will definitely come again the location is easily assessible to many great outdoor places to visit in the surronding location (Yorkshire Dales and the Lakes) and the walk on the canal from the hotel is great as well and would be really interested in staying in one of the cottages which I think are set apart from the main hotel

We had a wonderful 2 night stay with our springer spaniel. Great location for canal walks and very quiet despite the proximity of the motorway. The staff really stood out as being friendly, attentive and welcoming. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed every aspect of our weekend there.

We stayed at this hotel for one night with our dog and baby, and it was one of the most memorable stays we’ve ever had. Having experienced luxurious 5-star hotels in the UK and abroad, where you pay for top-tier amenities and service, I still prefer a place with genuinely friendly staff and a warm, local atmosphere. This hotel delivered on all fronts.The location was excellent, with a charming outdoor area for enjoying meals or drinks. The food was very good, though not perfect. The dog-friendly rooms were impeccably clean, well-equipped, and reasonably priced for such a quality local inn.The standout was a staff member named Marcel. He welcomed us at check-in, served us during a late dinner, and was there again for breakfast. When we found our car wouldn’t start due to a flat battery on a bank holiday Monday, with no shops open and no jump leads at the hotel, Marcel’s kindness shone through. He offered to drive to his own house to fetch jump leads. In the end, we managed to start the car another way, but his willingness to go out of his way made us feel truly valued.This was an exceptional experience, and we’d return in a heartbeat!

Loved our stay at the Longlands - the property is tranquil and well equipped, the staff is lovely, and the location is really idea to access the Lake District. We loved our dinner at the on-site restaurant so much that we went back the following night.

Excellent Breakfast! Yummy! Great to walk along the local canal. Staff were courteous and friendly. Only problem was the traffic noise from the A road and M6 and shouting of people in next door room

Well planned bar and restaurant. Our room was excellent. The waiters were friendly and professional. We thought the menus, especially the veg. Pie could do with improving, but breakfast was very good. We did enjoy our stay.

Food and service excellent. Choice of menu options really good. Rooms good size, bed comfortable, fridge in room with bottles water, plenty of tea, coffee etc in the room. Very convenient from the motorway but away from the road noise. Local walk details provided in the rooms.

Lovely helpful staff, extremely comfortable beds we slept so well after having a week of stress before we went, lovely spacious room and ultra modern bathroom, lovely sunny Patio for eating and drinking , free coffee on offer, great breakfast, could t fault our stay, only slight negative the restaurant food was a bit pricey.

Great location just off the M6 but with lovely walks along the canal into open countryside. Big comfy room, spotlessly clean and quiet even though next to the road and we kept the window open. Fresh milk and chilled water in the mini fridge a really nice touch. The staff were friendly and chatty we enjoyed our fish and chips dinner, breakfast was freshly cooked. Will happily stay again.

It was an ok place to stay but expensive. I asked if they sold water in the morning as had forgotten to take any, £9.60 for 4 small bottles. A meal for 3 of us was £120 and the food was certainly not 4 star, more average. Waiting staff were really friendly. I asked if we could check out later as we had to wait all day for my son to finish scuba diving nearby - £10 for an extra hour (but unavailable) and could not extend beyond that.
