The hotel is a quintessential representation of an English countryside manor. Grounds are gorgeous, we loved our huge room and the pretty, old school bathroom, and the breakfast was high quality and delicious.

It was our second visit to The Slaughters Manor House and it was even more magnificent than before. The grounds are beautifully kept and all areas clean and comfortable. Towels and bed linens are of a very high quality. The mattress was so comfortable! We had a very good sleep!

My favorite place to stay in all of Cotswolds! Very cool interior decor. Grand piano, Dyson hair dryer and room fan! Nespresso! Perfect!

This hotel was fantastic. Its a place you want to come and stay for a while. Good for short trips as well but its so peaceful and beautiful. The grounds are well maintained, the staff goes above and beyond. Very friendly people who love the place they work. You feel like you are going back in time but with modern day amenities.

Manor house was conveniently located to visiting various areas of the Cotswolds. The grounds were immaculate. Room was comfortable and clean. The service was great, professional and they were pleasant to interact with. Food and drinks were very good too.

This was our second visit, this time with our dog. The hotel is great to visit with a dog, a nice room available to sit with a drink or coffee in the main house. Our room was large and very well placed to take Ted to the beautiful, safe garden. We had a meal in the restaurant that was beautiful but the wine made it very expensive! Beautiful breakfast. We will return again!

Breakfast on last day was a shambles ie 20 min wait for tea / coffee , wrong order presented , out of porridge and muesli 2 days running and 40 min wait for toast .It is a beautiful 17th century Manor House but not themed appropriately. Glass and chrome furniture out of character .

The hotel impresses by beautiful buildings & lovely grounds. We also appreciated an upgrade due to our recent wedding celebration. Unfortunately, our potentially beautiful room was dirty - stains on the carpet, curtains, & bed throw… cobwebs in almost every corner…. broken glass on the floor in the bathroom. On the 1st day it took 40 mins from sitting down to breakfast to get a cup of coffee… During our stay, the front of the hotel was decorated with dead flowers from a previous month’s wedding... They are obviously short-staffed and struggling - as are many hotels in this current climate - but when charging £595 a night, we feel we should expect excellent service, not 2* service in a 5* building. We generally like to give a business the chance to put things right, so we spoke to the manager on the first day. The result was much better service the next day at breakfast (we worried that may have been at a cost to other guests), and the stains were removed from the curtains and carpet. Cobwebs were still present & our radiator remained adorned with dust. Perhaps because we hadn’t literally pointed it out… As a token, the manager took the cost of one breakfast and £100 off our bill. On a bill of £1130 for two nights, that didn’t do the job. The hotel need to do a great deal to their service in order to justify their current pricing and sadly, we won’t be returning.

This property is beautiful from the outside however the rooms are tired. For the cost, the service is well below standard. All of the individual staff are lovely and trying very hard but it feels like there just aren't enough of them. Our room was very damp and smelt musty on arrival. When we mentioned this to the front desk we were recommended to open some windows. Items that were asked to be laundered were later found balled up in a corner of our room and items leftover from room service forgotten to be cleared away by housekeeping. Breakfast our first morning took nearly an hour due to understaffing and we watched staff scraping leftovers from other tables while we ate. If you are a 'light sensitive' sleeper, do not book! There is a bright green emergency exit light (apparently in every room) that will stop you from sleeping. Nothing to be done about this apparently.

Not great value for the price - at this price level you would expect better staff service (staff lacking at breakfast, reception staff are not very welcoming) and you would expect more than one small bottle of water in the room, better range of teas in the room. The outside was beautiful. The view was stunning. The inside was poorly decorated: outdated and shabby furnishings. Lounges crowded with too much shabby outdated furniture. Staff seemed impatient poorly informed and unhappy. We waited in line to check in, told abruptly to wait away from the front desk. No welcome greeting. We felt our presence was intrusive.

The bedroom decor was exceptional and the bathroom spacious. We sat at the breakfast table for 40 minutes before we had anything to eat the 2 hot dishes arrived at once. Service seemed haphazard. Reception kindly reduced the bill when we checked out.

Such a lovely, transporting stay at this beautiful country manor. The public areas are especially chic. The Nina room had an outstanding view and was huge; however, the plumbing was wonky with difficulty getting cold water and a shower that wasn’t scalding. One must run the water for a long time to calibrate it — contravening efforts to conserve. Also, the staff had difficulty checking guests out with any level of efficiency, so allow extra time for check-out.

Wonderful place. Only criticism: they seem to be short of staff. No full time porters/bellmen. The lady at the checkout desk tried to get our bags down by herself, but had a very hard job, and we needed to assist. They seemed a bit short of food and beverage servers too although the ones there were excellent.

This property is beautiful from the outside however the rooms are tired. For the cost, the service is well below standard. All of the individual staff are lovely and trying very hard but it feels like there just aren't enough of them. Our room was very damp and smelt musty on arrival. When we mentioned this to the front desk we were recommended to open some windows. Items that were asked to be laundered were later found balled up in a corner of our room and items leftover from room service forgotten to be cleared away by housekeeping. Breakfast our first morning took nearly an hour due to understaffing and we watched staff scraping leftovers from other tables while we ate. If you are a 'light sensitive' sleeper, do not book! There is a bright green emergency exit light (apparently in every room) that will stop you from sleeping. Nothing to be done about this apparently.

This hotel was fantastic. Its a place you want to come and stay for a while. Good for short trips as well but its so peaceful and beautiful. The grounds are well maintained, the staff goes above and beyond. Very friendly people who love the place they work. You feel like you are going back in time but with modern day amenities.

Lovely hotel and beautiful grounds, but the staff were unhelpful when it came to sorting things out. The standard response to issues was simply 'it’s broken' – as if that was the end of the conversation. Everything seemed to be a ‘no can do’ situation, which was disappointing.

The bedroom decor was exceptional and the bathroom spacious. We sat at the breakfast table for 40 minutes before we had anything to eat the 2 hot dishes arrived at once. Service seemed haphazard. Reception kindly reduced the bill when we checked out.

Such a lovely, transporting stay at this beautiful country manor. The public areas are especially chic. The Nina room had an outstanding view and was huge; however, the plumbing was wonky with difficulty getting cold water and a shower that wasn’t scalding. One must run the water for a long time to calibrate it — contravening efforts to conserve. Also, the staff had difficulty checking guests out with any level of efficiency, so allow extra time for check-out.

Amazing place! Picturesque and quaint, nestled within scenic countryside. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Highly, highly, highly recommend it to anyone. Seems to itself more to couples or families with older teenage kids. It’s not a playful hotel.

Having decided to extend our trip in the south west and finding our previous hotel had no availability to stay another night, we plumped for The Slaughters Manor House as we fancied heading back into The Cotswolds, which we love and most importantly they had a couple of rooms (suites) still available which was a result given it was the beginning of the Bank Holiday weekend (May). As we had previously stayed in Upper Slaughter we thought Lower Slaughter had been somewhat neglected so TSMH was the natural choice for such seasoned travellers as ourselves (seasoned = mature :) We were not disappointed. The Slaughters Manor House is a gorgeous little country house hotel in the most delightful location with a great name! We stayed in Kate on the first floor of the main house which was a wonderfully spacious and comfortable room complete with fireplace and four poster bed. All the staff were very helpful from Anton who manhandled our bags up the stairs to our suite, Paula who checked us in with great efficiency and Sue who makes the most deliciously sour cosmopolitan. We will definitely return!

For the cost involved expected more . Cleanliness poor room not hoovered each day. Breakfast on last day was a shambles ie 20 min wait for tea / coffee , wrong order presented , out of porridge and muesli 2 days running and 40 min wait for toast .It is a beautiful 17th century Manor House but not themed appropriately. Glass and chrome furniture out of character .

This was our second visit, this time with our dog. The hotel is great to visit with a dog, a nice room available to sit with a drink or coffee in the main house. Our room was large and very well placed to take Ted to the beautiful, safe garden. We had a meal in the restaurant that was beautiful but the wine made it very expensive! Beautiful breakfast. We will return again!

This was such a picture perfect spot. Our room was amazing and the staff excellent. Meals at the sister restaurant were perfect and good wine selection ton. The town and walking trails were easy to navigate and very convenient to get to nearby towns with no problem.

I took my adult daughter for a short getaway. Mother and daughter time. The hotel was a such a pleasant stay in a calm, clean relaxed quaint setting. The staff were very polite, friendly and always at hand to help and assist were needed. Loved the croquette set up on the lawn and took advantage of a couple of games at the end of the day. Would deffinetly recommend.

The hotel and its surroundings were clean and well maintained and breakfast was very plentiful and delicious however there were a few minor issues such as no air-con in the room so had a loud Dyson fan running all night and one of the phone jacks was not working. Our room was situated on the first floor with steep steps, making climbing with suitcases quite tricky. Having said that, the room and bathroom were large, well-appointed and comfortable.
