Lovely hotel right in the town, parking at rear, and a leafy courtyard for afternoon drinks. Our breakfast each morning was perfect, plenty to choose from. Close to New Forest walking and bike riding trails. Walk to pubs, stores and cafes. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

A gorgeous boutique hotel. Great location on the High Street in Lyndhurst. A brilliant base for exploring the New Forest and surrounding areas. All of the staff are friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. Buffet breakfast very yummy and plenty of it, along with massive pots of tea and coffee. The weather was glorious, so we were able to sit in the garden and enjoy cocktails, which are 2-4-1 3pm to 6pm daily. Thank you The Crown Manor House, we will be back and will recommend you without hesitation.

Lovely stay - had a few issues getting parked and the car park was full when we arrived, so staff said we could park in the loading bay. Other than that, great stay and lovely room

Enjoyed our stay after initially changing rooms. Biggest disappointment was expensive bar prices which prevented us from making more use of the facilities. £14 for a cup of tea and a small wine for residents is outrageous.

We had a lovely stay on our trip to beaulieu for Simply Aston … location was great despite the local traffic being very heavy … the only issue I would say was the happy hour 2 for 1 cocktails … you had to have 2 of the same which was a little limiting! Evening meal was really nice … couldn’t fault it.

Hotel has a lot of character and is right in the centre of Lydhurst within easy walking distance of lots of places to eat and some interesting shops. Generous sized room and bathroom. We were given a room at the front which could be noisy because of the road but overnight very quiet. Room had air con but that was just as noisy! Didn’t use the restaurant but it looked good. Breakfast is served in a different room which was very sunny and attractively decorated. Buffet style with lots of choice and quality was ok. Car park can get busy but we always managed to get a space. All staff very polite and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would use the hotel again.

This is a good hotel with lovely spacious rooms and a great little garden area. Breakfast had everything we wanted and didn't end too early, which was great for us late sleepers! The beds were really comfy, the hotel was quiet at night & had air conditioning. It would have been useful to have a little fridge to keep water cool as it was very hot when we visited. The only down side is the one way road system, which is constantly backed up, but which you have to navigate to get to the hotel parking area. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The hotel has so much history and is full of character which we just love. Breakfast was superb and cannot be faulted. We had a room at the back 305 which was clean, and had everything we wanted. The negative things which stuck out were as follows:- a) Cannot open bedroom window greater than 1" which is crazy as many people want fresh air. b) The lift is full of character and is an old antiquated affair. Unfortunately my wife suffers with claustrophobia and this confined box with manual gate sliding mechanism made her feel quite uneasy. From then on we walked up and down the stairs which was fine but we were on the 3rd floor. c) Getting to the hotel through Lyndhurst is a pain as when you finally get to the lights after queuing for 15+ minutes you cannot turn right. You have to go all the way around the one way system and then join an even longer queue getting in to Lyndhurst from the North. This took us a further 15+ minutes to achieve. The turning in to the rear car park is fine if one of the numerous delivery lorries/vans has not parked across the entrance/exit. This happened to us when we arrived and when we wanted to leave. Its things like this that can frustrate people.

Polite staff. Amazing bathrooms and bathroom products. Breakfast was lovely. The setting and the different public areas were all beautiful. Quirky lift!

Great stay - really clean and fab hotel totally recommend and will be back

Restaurant very nice but hotel room very old and in need of maintenance eg woodwork, doors, walls needed fresh paint. Modernise the electrics rather than put socket in skirting board. Clean the bathroom better.

Hotel was spotlessly clean. Bed was so comfortable that we had a wonderful night’s sleep. Breakfast was superb & all staff were friendly & welcoming. Not our first stay there & wont be our last.

Rooms are dusty with cobwebs. Windows are old and paint work is flaking. Beds were ok but room had no a/c so was very warm during the night.

We've previously stayed at this hotel with no problems, but we arrived yesterday and the room we were put in wasn't at all suitable. We entered room 302 which was up in the roof, which meant the layout of the room was really bad. My husband is 6ft 5, and he wasn't able to maneuver around the bed safely. We've stayed in one of the snug doubles before without any issues. My husband spoke to reception and we ended up having to pay a further £30 to be moved to a different room. This was completely unfair, but we didn't have a choice due to the safety aspect of the previous room.  Our new room was 122. This room had stains on the door and carpet, had dirt around the window, bad rust on the bathroom mirror, and the shower was leaking. The leak from the shower had caused the wood to become damp and was rotten, so it must have been leaking for quite a while. The room was also very hot, with no air conditioning. We had to turn on the fan which didn't really help. With the combination of the heat and sound of the fan, we both didn't sleep well. The breakfast was okay, but we've had better. My husband mentioned to the receptionist upon check out about how hot the room was and he was told only the front rooms had air conditioning. This doesn't feel right that only some guests get air conditioning, even when paying the same amount of money. I'm afraid we won't be returning to this hotel and we feel it's no longer 4* quality.

Very professional staff and warm welcome when we arrived. We had a delightful stay. Room was to a good standard, clean and tidy when we arrived.

What a lovely English hotel, atmospheric in an old way it wraps it arms around creating a safe warm feeling of olden days luxury. Mattress and shower excellent quality and the rooms well cleaned. A little tired in places and the windows could do with a good clean. Lovely event meal, breakfast was reasonable although table service was expected at this price point… and more importantly eggs to order. Would we recommend it? Absolutely!

Room was very comfortable and cosy. Bathroom was nice. The whole room decor was very nice. Window had a view of the roof so not much to look at. No fridge. No slippers. No robes. No bottled water. When asking for bottled water I was told they drink tap water. Just a way to save money is the way I see it. Furniture in the room is all scratched and some dirt. Not 100% clean. The bed was on wheels and not secure. kept rolling . Needs updating. Bathroom was nice and cosy. Nice sink. Nice rainfall shower. Nice toiletries. None of that 10ml rubbish that runs out instantly. They had nice stocked bottles of toiletries. Moving onto breakfast, they had a buffet style breakfast. Was good but could be tastier. More bakery options needed. Served cold milk with the tea/coffee. Why do hotels do this? Please warm the milk. No spa/gym which is ok if you know in advance. They have a games room and library instead which was nice. They have an outside courtyard at the back. Good if you want a quiet outdoors space to relax. Finally, their lift is a pleasure to use. Apparently the oldest in Europe. Service needs to improve. Reception empty half the time. To check out I had to wait 5 minutes for someone to come just to check out. Not good enough considering I was on a tight schedule. Overall a good stay but needs improvement.

We love this hotel and restaurant. Everything is always perfectly clean, quiet and food top quality. We will continue to return.

This hotel is in the heart of Lyndhurst with easy access on foot to shops and restaurants. Mostly flat level for walkers of all ages. All staff are super friendly and helpful. The hotel feels spacious and is well presented. Ample parking and a quiet spacious garden are a bonus. Our bedroom at the back of the hotel was a good size with all the amenities you would expect. High ceiling, not overlooked and quiet. Lovely breakfast and dinner in very pleasant separate dining rooms. Would definitely return for another weekend break in the New Forest. Thank you.

The hotel was lovely and clean , rooms spotless , staff very friendly The only bad point was the mattress on the bed was very hard and uncomfortable .

The beds need upgrading. Awful back ache after a few nights.

Room spacious and comfortable but very drab and dark. Breakfasts were good but not very hot. Didn’t like the sausage. Staff very efficient. Did not eat in restaurant as nothing we fancied. Why do chefs have to make food so complicated! Overall we had an enjoyable stay and will return

Great location but a bit noisy being on the street & church side of the building, not helped by roadworks outside (not the hotels fault). Staff were on the whole friendly & helpful. Free carpark was a bonus. Bar staff were run ragged but provided good cocktails & very friendly, maybe attention to staffing levels required here! Breakfast disappointing with many items unavailable or empty and not regularly replenished at busy periods.

Spent one night in snug room, creaky floorboards heard from next door or room above. Didnt sleep particularly well. Ceiling has brown leak marks. Room was hot even with the air conditioning being turned on. Lovely building and interiors Service was quick and breakfast was fine. Based on high street close to other pubs and restaurants.

Room-was perfect. Very good bed and pillows. Bathroom -clean but sink was wobbly. Bar staff -very friendly. Catering staff- professional, friendly and very polite. So nice to see and hear a friendly smile and a greeting.

Old hotel lovely features however room small no full length mirror poor lighting limited hanging space.

Lovely hotel, in good central village location. Lots of shops, pubs etc nearby. Had a beautiful room with four poster bed. However, mattress was very soft and sagged in the middle, which made for an uncomfortable night. Advertised as kingsize but was really a double. Apart from that room very clean. Good feather pillows too. Restaurant food - very small portions but delicious, although burger dry and hard. Good breakfast selection, but not quite hot enough. Service excellent.

The hotel was conveniently located at the very heart of Lyndhurst and in a good decorative state. Staff were very good and friendly. The breakfast was superb. The hotel is situated in a very busy road that is the only way through the traffic to navigate the area. Downside - we booked a classic double room however the room was tiny and up in what appeared to be the loft space and we had to get to it via windy stairs although there was an old slow lift. Car parking - whilst there are a number of car parking spaces, it was quite tight to park and I imagine if the hotel was extremely busy, it might be challenging to park. Having said this, the hotel is located in the middle of town. Overall we had a nice stay but we’d like to try other hotels or properties next time.

Property did not live up to expectations and reviews. Room was lovely but too hot. No air con. Boiler broke after first day so no hot water to bath baby had to boil kettles lift was a 3 ft square with a metal cage around it. Like something out of fawlty towers. Restaurant terrible service Waited 1 hour and 10 mins for starter

Excellent base in the New Forest. Staff excellent and very customer focused. Easy parking. Always a pleasure to stay there.

Stayed for our 10yr anniversary, property situated in a perfect location and was very relaxing. Majority of staff were fantastic, only downside was a plumbing issue in our room and the staff member on shift was extremely rude expecting us to vacate room first thing in the morning without being able to use showers etc. Settled on the temporary use of a second room which was fine but having to explain why we needed to be able to have access to basic facilities at the front desk wasnt great. Would stay again on the basis that the rest of the stay was perfect.

Great location in Lyndhurst to visit elderly friends round the corner. Silly rainy weather. Room was good but so hot. The heating was fierce in the whole place. I am sure they can turn the temp down and save on energy. Lovely old lift. The breakfast was good abd staff friendly and efficient.

The hotel is lovely, our room & bathroom were so clean & spacious. Friendly staff & nice cocktails. Let down by breakfast, it’s self service & mostly cold, toaster was so slow & pastries never topped up.

We were extremely disappointed with the food in the restaurant the menu looked very good but the style and content was poor My wife had a main course of pork escalope it was a fried ball of vegetables with very little meat I was being careful and ordered fish and chips the piece of cod was in a cocoon of batter which was not attached to the fish and the fish was dry the chips were not great

Beautiful hotel. The restaurant is stunning and food was delicious. Our room was so lovely and breakfast was perfect too. We loved every minute of our stay.

Comfy room with good modern bathroom. Breakfast was good and the food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff were very attentive. Would recommend.

Breakfast requires some improvement, for a hotel, the standard English breakfast is truly below par. Salty and soggy bacon, mushroom with strange taste. Otherwise great hotel.
