Superb grounds, lovely garden, comfortable room. Suggest they think about their dining room music as technobeat not favourite with the pensioner market!! One or two minor maintenance issues - basin pop up plug & escutcheon. Very helpful staff Really irritating experience with EVcharger— not hotel’s fault but part of the reason we chose it. Restaurant prides itself on good Scottish food : public health / short life span contribution could be to offer more included vegetables!!!

Beautiful building which has been very well restored. The bar and restaurant are really nice and the food was fantastic. Very good value for money and the staff were lovely, I would book again.

Stunning venue Dog friendly Beautiful scenery and walks Staff - couldn’t fault. Really happy to help. Stunning place. Great brekkie and just enough I’ll be back But make sure I get there earlier next time :)

New parking arrangements not publicised before trip. An extra £10 a night on top of the room price and meals is extortionate. Electric bays put close to the hotel with well kept car park. No disabled spaces at all. Further away car parks in very bad repair and a long way to walk with suitcases etc. Very grumpy receptionist on arrival l No help with usage particularly with no lift. No disabled facilities at all. Later receptionist very friendly. Excellent meal. I intend to put this on trust pilot also

Excellent stay. Our first room had slight issue but hotel staff quickly offered & upgraded our room. Such helpful & friendly staff. Evening meal & breakfast superb. We very much enjoyed hotel & loved relaxing by open fire in lounge. Many thanks

Amazing hotel with the most fabulous service. Food was delicious and an excellent choice. Room was really comfortable and well equipped. Hotel was really dog friendly to our 2 labs. Stacey on reception was particularly helpful. Definitely go again.

Beautiful hotel, set in fantastic surroundings. Friendly, helpful staff. Great function hall, beautiful bar (The Library). The room was large, very much in keeping with the style of the hotel I'll definately be back.

Although this is a very beautiful property, their focus during our time was on an upcoming wedding. Bar was closed and minimal dining options. We felt like an "after thought"and probably were. Our breakfast was very average. Our room was nice but overall unless you are attending a wedding there, I would pass on this property.

We only had a brief stay but the hotel was large and very good value for money. The room was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The grounds are lovely and location perfect.

Amazing house. Large rooms, but awkwardly set up. Bath only, no shower. No conditioner in shower, no easy place for hair dryer. Pretty dusty room. But there is a lot of potential here with some minor tweaks for a better guest experience. I’d recommend management to spend a few nights in the hotel to pick up on these small things.

The staff at this hotel were amazing. They were all so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious with excellent service. The hotel is tired and dated. While generally clean, it could do with a deep clean. Skirtings very dusty, high points in need of dusting and attention to detail in areas like behind bathroom door & bin lid. Valance on bed was rather grubby. I dropped an item on the floor and when retrieving it noticed the bed base was broken. The standard double rooms varied in size & quality. We had a fairly modestly sized room with a standard double bed with no seating whilst others at the same event had booked standard rooms and had large rooms with king sized beds sofas. The floors in the room were very uneven, almost a trip hazard as were the corridors. There is no lift and it is quite a climb to the 3rd floor with luggage. At the price point paid, i would have expected a better room experience. We had nowhere to sit and relax in the room.

We really enjoyed our time at the Balbirnie House. The gardens and grounds were beautiful and peaceful, and it was a great home base for us to stay near Edinburgh. The train was easy to catch from Glenrothes and took less than an hour to arrive in the city (although peak-time prices were extreme!). We had a family suite and there was plenty of space for our 3 grown boys and us, but we could have used a fan in each bedroom as the days were warm and the windows didn't open wide enough to allow for airflow. Meals at the on-site restaurant were lovely, and the staff was accommodating and professional. Overall a very nice stay!

Simply the best country house hotel in Scotland. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the rooms and grounds are amazing. Breakfast is lovely. Can’t praise it highly enough. Definitely our go to hotel when we need a break!

Wow! What a stunning Hotel and Grounds. Everyone was so friendly, professional and polite especially Emma at the reception - helped me beyond my expectations including advising me how to use the Uber Eats App 😁

Generally a lovely location and grounds. Had park and pay that needed cancelled on check in, but my guests had to pay. No elevator.

We really enjoyed our time at the Balbirnie House. The gardens and grounds were beautiful and peaceful, and it was a great home base for us to stay near Edinburgh. The train was easy to catch from Glenrothes and took less than an hour to arrive in the city (although peak-time prices were extreme!). We had a family suite and there was plenty of space for our 3 grown boys and us, but we could have used a fan in each bedroom as the days were warm and the windows didn't open wide enough to allow for airflow. Meals at the on-site restaurant were lovely, and the staff was accommodating and professional. Overall a very nice stay!

Lovely hotel, had a deluxe room which was a great size, only complaint felt room quite dark, no main light. Great choice for dinner and 2 or three course set meal very good value. Breakfast choice very good as well. Definitely recommend

Upgraded us to a four poster bed room I. Arrival for our wedding anniversary. Bar was a bit crazy with one person serving us and an entire wedding plus other guests. Dinner was outstanding - best meal I’ve had in ages although there was a long wait for first drink then too! will defo come back but they should try to get more bar staff.

Beautiful hotel on beautiful grounds. Wish I had more time to explore this lovely property. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Staff were very friendly and engaging.

Beautiful building which has been very well restored. The bar and restaurant are really nice and the food was fantastic. Very good value for money and the staff were lovely, I would book again.

Lovely stay in a fantastic room with superb views. The hotel is set in lovely parkland. Friendly staff and lovely evening meal in the Orangery.

Excellent stay. Our first room had slight issue but hotel staff quickly offered & upgraded our room. Such helpful & friendly staff. Evening meal & breakfast superb. We very much enjoyed hotel & loved relaxing by open fire in lounge. Many thanks

Amazing hotel with the most fabulous service. Food was delicious and an excellent choice. Room was really comfortable and well equipped. Hotel was really dog friendly to our 2 labs. Stacey on reception was particularly helpful. Definitely go again.

Although this is a very beautiful property, their focus during our time was on an upcoming wedding. Bar was closed and minimal dining options. We felt like an "after thought"and probably were. Our breakfast was very average. Our room was nice but overall unless you are attending a wedding there, I would pass on this property.

Det var ett fantastiskt hus, omgivning , service och rum. Dock endast ala carte frukost vilket blir lite dumsnålt när endast en rätt ingår i frukosten och en extra kostar £10.

Beautiful house and rooms. Loved the bar and library room. The grounds were lovely and nice to sit outside and have a cocktail. The only gripe was the rooms on the top floor with small windows could do with a fan in the room. It was a bit hot.

Staff all very good. I had a problem with the toilet seat and they fixed it during the day while I was out. Food and drinks service good. No noise in my room from the wedding party. Only issue for me was the room window was very small and high up in the wall, so I couldn’t see out, and the sky light had no covering, so being Scotland, I had daylight from 5:30am waking me up. Not the worst problem in the world. Wonderful park like location, and again, all the staff were wonderful.
